It’s okay.
We didn’t know the water park was closed until after our non refundable booking.
I waited in the front for at least 15 minutes. They said call a number for help and I did that. And no phone rang after all the options. The guy was fine when they helped me and apologized. Just frustrating.
It seems like it will be cool once it gets the pool open. Will try again if the rates are good.

This was a horrible trip for a spur of the moment quick vacation. There were more pictures of the working water park than room accomodations (for good reason) come to find out after solely picking this spot over several other cheaper option just for the water park,and booking the nonrefundable trip that the water park is closed for the first quarter of the year. Sine it is the end of May we figured this would not be an issue, and the trip was nonrefundable now anyway. When we get there the waterpark was still under construction so that ruined that evenings plans. We were put in an older room as the room we were going to get had the air-conditioning not working. The tv only had local channels as the cable was not working. They moved us to an updated room that was cleaner with an updated tv and decore. The sink in the new room did not work properly and would not drain. In switching us room we were not given new room keys. Later on that night someone must have been given our room keys by mistake as they attempted to get in our room. If not for the deadbolt they would have walked right in. All in all if not for being tricked into booking this "resort" with a waterpark that was not operating we never would have stayed here. The staff did their best to deal with the issues but they were behind the eight ball from the start. Very disappointing

Expedia could have done a better job letting me know that the indoor pool was closed this whole year for maintenance. The hotel called to tell me the day of, but Expedia should have done that sooner. The hotel staff was very friendly and our room was clean.

Hotel smelled!! Elevator was out of service. The exterior door in the stairwell had been removed and it was simply a case opening in the wall. Doors from stairs to floor hallways were not locked so there was no type of security or protection for customers. Place was so bad, ended up going to another facility to stay the night!!!

Their inhouse water park was closed. They called the day b4 to tell us that. No kitchen 4 breakfast and they didn't even get their waffle maker to work. I had a plugged toilet and all they did was hand me a plunger...WOW!!!

Horrible! No water park as advertised! Stayed 3 nights and room was never cleaned, trash taken out or fresh towels. Breakfast….what a joke!!! One broken elevator and maintenance men standing outside our room early, early Sunday morning talking about all the work they thought should get done!!!!
Awful!!! Don’t get trapped here, you’re children will be disappointed with only a baby pool and one small light in the night compared to the water park advertised!!!

Not bad, but could have been better
I recommended checking to see if the indoor water park is up and running before booking because we didn't find out it was closed until we got there, which was SUPER disappointing for our kids. This was the whole reason we chose it. The service was pretty good except our room ran out of toilet paper and they didn't have any at thr front desk.

The room was All right I was just pointed that the indoor water park was down for maintenance even though there was nobody actually working on it the whole time we were there our TV wouldn’t come in but like three or four channels the continental breakfast was not what I was expecting I was expecting more than that on the elevator wasn’t working properly the icemaker on our floor was down so overall I wasn’t happy with the amenities and the condition of the area

After receiving a call on our way to the hotel and learning the water park was closed I saw on reviews it has been for quite some time, meaning they could have given us timely notification so if we had wanted to make other arrangements, we could have. Being that we had less than 3 hours before arriving and 4th of July week, we were not able to find other affordable accommodations.There was trash in our room, housekeeping stopped to tell me that she still needed to clean out the freezer and would return soon-she never did so the water from the freezer was all over the fridge and it was filthy.Breakfast was less than standard for even just being a continental breakfast. They ran out of what they had the first 2 mornings (the one and only guy working there was doing the best he could), and the 3rd morning we went down just before 9AM to get one muffin and a cup of coffee and creamer and he told us no, breakfast was over. We asked for clean bedding for one bed.When they came up they said they could only provide a sheet to us bc housekeeping was out and she was the only one there. The toilet paper roller was broken, the sink was clogged.The beds were extremely uncomfortable. I called the front desk bc the upstairs occupants were making lots of noises at 11PM, he put me on hold before I even had a chance to say anything, he never came back to take my call. Most ice machines were down. I understand they are under new management but the transition is horrible-stay away until then

I booked our family vacation here thinking their water park was open however it is NOT! I get there parking is inconvient. The beds were dirty, the outside pool is only 3 feet nd they dont even have the whole pool area operating. The vending ND ice machines broken, fridge barely kept anything closed however i did not go to Branson to sit in my hotel we went to silver dollar city ND had a blast watched fire works from their observation deck ND had dinner with my family which was beautiful. So i wish everything wasn't crappie so i could give an excellent review. I'll deff be back but I'll make them change my sheets again when i check in. Oh ND to have breakfast we had to go across the street to the hotel that bought this one cause this one only had muffins. Coffee was nasty. Needs someone who cares to work here smh.

Property is in a good location close to everything we did. When we got there the indoor water park was closed which they told me a day before we arrived. When we got to the room there was trash in the room. The tub wouldn’t drain until we pulled the hair clog out and they do not clean your room we staid for 5 nights.

Continental breakfast was a joke. Cold options only. Facility was clean. Pool was open, but water park was not. When I booked, it was one of the main reasons for choosing this property. No notification of the facility closing the water park, I was notified on arrival. Staff were friendly enough. They do not clean rooms or replace towels unless asked, which is fine, but I was not notified of this on check in.

Establishment failed to mention that the indoor water park was not open. And my daughter left her tablet, so i called the afternoon after checking out and they said they didn't find it. I believe this to be a lie due to the fact that my daughter and I both remember exactly where it was in the room. Please do not go to this very ill managed place.

Staffs are friendly and helpful. Waterpark was closed and that was the main reason we booked the hotel. They said expedia is not updating the site. Free breakfast fast is a joke. You have to pay $10 for adults and $5 for kids for hot breakfast. Heard several times they were short handed.

Indoor pool is permanently closed.
Indoor pool and slides have been permanently closed. The new owner closed it and doesn't plan to reopen. We found this out when we checked in. We wouldn't have stayed here had we known that. Staff was very nice. Hotel was clean but in desperate need of some deep cleaning. Im pretty sure the carpet and paint is older than me and i was born in '81. Our shower faucet was broken (i got scalded) and the bathroom had two types of tile and two colors of grout. They didn't bother to paint over the drywall repairs. Whole hotel had a weird smell, likely from the old carpeting i assume. Lots of potential here if they clean it up and reopen the pool, but we wont be back.

The water park is closed nothing on the website about the Waterpark being closed the waterpark was the olny reason we choose to stay here.Beds are worn out and continental breakfast was very minimal. To upgrade the breakfast there was a change of $10 per adult.

Our stay there was good. The location was great and rooms were clean and spacious. All the staff was wonderful. The only downside was that we rented that hotel for the wster park and it was closed and we had no cable during our stay. The outside pool was open

They were very friendly. The hotel was perfect for 6 and included bunk beds for 2 of my kids. The only down fall was that the indoor water park was closed down for the season but we loved the outside pool. My kids had a blast. We loved the observation deck on the 4th floor going out there early morning or in the evening was so nice. We will definitely be going back for our next adventure.

This property had an indoor/ outdoor water park on site but Expedia did not advertise that the water park is closed for the year for maintenance. We arrived at 9pm on a Friday night. The staff was apologetic and allowed us to look for another property before committing to the room. We found a vacancy at another hotel with an indoor water park and cancelled our room at HJ with no penalty.

I was disappointed in our trip to the Howard Johnson by Wyndham. A big reason I booked this hotel for our trip to Branson was because of the indoor waterpark in all the photo's of the hotel. We arrive to the hotel to find out the entire waterpark in closed! There is no pool available. Such a let down for my kids. When I brought it up to the hotel staff, I was told they had tried to notify travelocity about the pool. I was brushed off by staff with an "oh well" attitude. Talking to other guest at the hotel, they were also not told about a closed pool when booking.
The cleanliness of the hotel left much to be desired. The bunk bed in the room had candy all over underneath it. The TV and phone were not working properly in our room and the light in the bunk room stopped working during the stay.
It was one thing after another at this hotel. When my family goes back to Branson, we will not be staying at the Howard Johnson.

We have stayed here before it was Howard Johnson. We didn’t get to stay here for our past trip because we were staying for the water park. Which Expedia states they have but upon arriving we were told by staff the water park is closed due to maintenance for the season and Expedia had been told 6 plus months prior. Expedia never updated their website. So definitely check with hotel prior to booking. And goggle the number because when trying to get my refund come to find out Expedia had the wrong phone number for property.
Besides that bad issue location is close to but not on the strip. There is putt putt golf in walking distance and some other stuff definitely would stay here once the water park is open. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful and very understanding.
We will definitely be back for a stay once maintenance is completed on pool

The hotel is pretty old and needs some serious remodeling. The room was great for the family. The kids had their own twin bed area. Housekeeping does not service the room during the stay. The breakfast was pretty minimal. Thank goodness for the waffles!

Well the expedia site failed to mention that the water park was closed. The staff said that they let the third party sites know but evidently that was not past on. The breakfast literally consisted of two waffle makers and three types of cereal. The room was clean but our kids were disappointed and si were we.

Cheap room but nothing works
We like, everybody else only rented this room because of the water park which I heard is closed for the last 3 years and it will not open until next year. This was not indicated anywhere on the website. Microwave was broken, warm breakfast doesn’t exist. However, it was one of the cheapest hotels in the Branson area.

We love this hotel it was very accommodating to our family. We have 3 children spread out in age from 18-7 and it fit us all comfortably. The only complaint we had was the people above us seemed to have a wrestling match every night around 11pm and wake the youngest up.

Do NOT think indoor facilities should be an extra charge. That is WHY we chose this site, as opposed to others.

Room clean. Breakfast good. Staff wonderful. We purposely stayed here for the water park. We had to pay, which wasnt in the online description. Then the water was ICE COLD. The pool area itself was also cold. No humidity or warmth you find in pool areas. We only were able to stay one hour because it was so cold.

The staff were all bery friendly but the hotel has not been kept up. Our room had an odd odor and there was trash by the bed when we got there. There were only 3 towels and 1 wash cloth for a room that sleeps 6. There were at least 5 overhead lights out in the waterpark and only 2 of the pools were warm. My kids are usually fish but couldn't handle how cold the lazy river was.

Staff was great however the bathroom was very bad especially for two adults and three children. For whatever reason they put us in a handicap room. I was surprised that the shower didn’t have a hold for the handle and the bathtub didn’t drain very well.

A Disappointing Experience
We specially booked this hotel due to the water park inside of it. We arrived on a Friday night into town and were told that the water park would be open Saturday 10am-10pm. We planned our Saturday around being able to finish the evening off at the water park. We went around town Saturday and arrive back at the hotel about 7:30pm. I went straight to the counter to purchase tickets for the park for my kids, 7 and 5 (who had been looking forward to this all day). I was told they were closing the water park at 8pm that night. There was no sign posted, we were not notified of this at all. I had two VERY upset kids. We didn’t even get to enjoy the reason we booked the hotel. We were told “sorry you didn’t know” and that was it as my kids cried walking back to our room. Aside from no communication to guests about what they decide to change after being told one thing and them doing another, the beds are very lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on. The “continental” breakfast consisted of cereal and a bowl of fruit that looked like it came from a can. You could pay to have the “buffet” (eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, and milk) for 9.99 per adult which was way over priced for what there was.

Don’t waste your money
When we booked our room we assumed the water park was included in the price. It didn’t say anywhere that was an extra charge. We paid the extra fee to use the water park. The water was freezing and unable to enjoy. The “life guards” admitted to a leak and the heaters not working. A female “life guard” was in leggings and the sleeves cut off her shirt with an underwire bra visible. NOT family friendly environment. We had to call the front desk because our room wasn’t supplied towels for showers. We were placed in a handicap room that we didn’t request. We had the option of 3-5 channels on the tv the rest were frozen. The breakfast was horrible the options were stale cereal, stale muffins, fruit cocktail sitting in syrup or waffles. On day two we never received another set of towels or coffee for our room.

Food smeared all over the ceiling and wall, elevator kept going up and down when door was open, no phone in our room, no hot water, pool was ice cold and had to pay a lot to get in when slide wasn’t working, flower sprinkler wasn’t working, had to pay extra for food(breakfast), pool closed early (6pm) on sundays when told 9pm, only 1 remote for 2 tvs

Water park passes are not included with expedia deal. The whole water park and main floor are freezing. The water park is not well maintained. There were three life guards for the entire water area. One slide was out of order. The water was very cold, the temp in the pool area was cold. Breakfast only included cereal or waffles anything else you had to pay. 9.99 for. Our bathtub had a drip that would not shut off. And the beds were terribly uncomfortable. Could feel the springs these are also no queen size much smaller than a queen. The staff was super friendly and as helpful as possible.

The towel rack fell off the wall. The tub faucet did not work. Had to stay out of hotel till the could get it fixed SATURDAY night. Thought they had a room to move us to but then they didn’t. Water park and water was cold. Could stay after paying 15.00 per person. Will not be back

The property is way outdated, tile in bathroom was cracked and breaking up. Was given handicap room without request leaving no vanity to get ready. Beds were horrible as well as pillows. We were under the impression the water park was included with Stay, that is an up charge.

New Favorite Hotel in Branson
The staff greeted us with the warmest welcome. The cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms was impeccable. We were so impressed by the restaurant. The pool was clean, friendly attentive guards. We will definitely be staying there for our future stays to Branson.

Our booking was for 2 queen size beds and we had 2 full size beds. The beds weren’t very comfortable, housekeeping never came into our room so we had to catch them to take our trash and get new towels. The staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate but I don’t expect we will ever stay there again. The water park also is NOT included in the hotel fees which lead you to think they are.

Only 2 elevators for the hotel; we were there for 4 days and housekeeping NEVER came in; the breakfast was ok, (hot breakfast was NOT hot, always cold). The day shift were the MOST unfriendly people. We loved the cheerful evening lady. The beds were HARD as a rock. And the fact that you CHARGE for the water park that’s only open a “few” hours is ridiculous!!
