We have spent several holiday stays at this hotel. The staff are always kind and knowledgeable. Presently, renovations are taking place, so there was a bit of untidiness and noise, but otherwise, a great stay as always.

Don’t do it!
It was okay. The rooms were nice and big. The outside of building was scary. No outdoor lights on and a lot of mud and bushes around building. The front entrance was worn down and did not even look like a Hyatt Place that I have stayed at before. There was nothing made in the bakery area or in the bar space. Looked like it was closed up and like we were walking into a time zone.

TOENAIL clippings/trash/crumbs all over floor!
The worst experience I’ve ever had at a Hyatt. Trash/crumbs on the floors. We even found toenail clippings on floor between beds. Very grimy. Def not what I’ve grown accustom to when staying at a Hyatt

I was not aware when booking, that this location was in the middle of a renovation. In an otherwise quiet spot in Roanoke, the construction lift backup beeping sounds outside the front of the building, worked late into the evening. Indoors, the contractor's started early in the morning. Hyatt should have adjusted cost of the stay accordingly for the inconvenience.

They had loud construction till 8 pm and kept giving rooms right by the construction area of the building. Room was dark, no lights by the bed and power plugs did not work

The property and the rooms are nice. Didn’t realize this property was under remodel so a lot of things were just weird. Upon getting off on floor 5 the hallway smelled of paint the whole stay. The rooms were very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. However, the windows were covered with plastic so you couldn’t see out. The light switches were placed on backwards so to turn on the light you press it down and not up. There no space in the shower to place your items that you need to take a shower. What was in there was tiny and my items kept falling. The towel rack for clean towels is in the shower so that was weird as well.
Overall, the place is nice . I feel once the construction is completed this place would have gotten a 10/10 for me.

This property is currently going through a renovation so there was many changes going on. Once the renovation is done this property will be so much better and looking forward to staying here again. The room was very clean and staff was very friendly.

Large renovation is happening to this hotel. There is noise from 8am to 6pm. Many parking spots have construction trucks parked in them. The lighting is not good, very dim. It is hidden behind a large Chinese buffet. Our window was covered with plastic wrap and blue painters tape. The air quality in the room felt stale. Both my daughter and I woke up with a sinus headache. Neither one of us felt sick or have any health issues.

Hotel under renovation but great
Hotel was doing a massive renovation. The lobby staff went out of their way to determine what type of room would best meet our needs in light of the renovation going on. We were entirely satisfied and breakfast was delicious.

There was construction and remodeling going on at this location. Two rooms were booked through Expedia. Upon arrival we were informed the rooms would be on separate floors and upon inquiring “why” they put us in rooms next to each other. However, one room had a refrigerator that was not working. It was replaced after we advised them of it. It was obvious we were on a floor that gad not been completed in remodel and baseboard along the hall was missing; a piece of tile at the baseboard in one of the rooms was missing; no lamps/lights at the headboard or side of the bed. These were a few of the more significant things noted.

Service was very friendly but the room had stains on the carpet and a large stain on the box spring.
The bathroom was small and the ceiling was pretty low.
There was also a fair amount of mechanical noise coming from the floor above and the air conditioner

Everyone at the front desk was nice. Our room was very spacious. Good breakfast. Super convenient location close to many stores, food options, mall and the highway. I would definitely recommend and stay again. My only negative would be the dog hair that wasn’t vacuumed good enough on the floor and floor boards. If you have pet allergies then it may have been an issue for you.

The Hyatt Place in Roanoke was one of the nicest places I have ever been. The welcoming staff, the room, the immediate attention to an issue with my key card and the breakfast was over the top.

The property overall is fine, and the staff are super. The room left a lot to be desired—uncomfortable mattresses, skimpy shower supplies, and a bathroom that was so small it was difficult to close/open the door. Looks like they’re renovating, so maybe they will upgrade the rooms while they’re at it.

Amazing and worth every dime!!!
Amazing!! Everything from breakfast to the service, breakfast was actually real healthy food, transportation to and from airport and local areas within distance, warm pool, early and late check in options, extra towels- it was amazing. It was weird not having a hotel phone in the room but everything was perfect- I would highly recommend others to stay here - the $$ is worth it!!!

Disappointing
Check in wasn't friendly. Didn't get the room type reserved and confirmed and was made to feel that I shouldn't have expected that. Went down for breakfast at 7:45 and coffee was gone....no more served before having to leave at 8:30.

I always book Hyatt Place when travel because when traveling to an unknown area, it is a brand I can trust. This time I was mistaken. This hotel needs serous updates. The sheets and pillowcase were worn out . Hotel sheets should look new not worn. The shower has black stuff everywhere. The staff was nice but I will now do research before booking based on name

Nice Little Getaway Spot
I’ll say that Hyatt Place Roanoke Airport/Valley View Mall provided a pleasant overnight stay. The room was spacious and offered privacy for my family of four. It was pretty tidy for the most part. However, a few areas could use some attention, such as dusting the bed headboard and cleaning the shower head and shower handle bar. The complimentary breakfast was decent. The hotel offered eggs, sausage, yogurt, bagels, bread, fruit, pastries, orange juice, milk, and oat milk. However, we wanted to keep our dog but were told at the front desk that there was an additional pet fee of $75. So, we let our dog stay with our son instead. Except for that one grip, overall, it was a lovely place to stay for a reasonable price.

Don’t bring your pet here
We stayed here for one night. They say they are pet friendly yet everyone acted appalled that we had a dog with us. They also charged a 75$ fee for a pet just for one night. There were no poop bags for your dog outside. The hotel room had a really small bathroom and everything just seemed like it was a bit run down. There was dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling. The phone in the room was missing the numbers and was extremely dusty, Definitely not worth the price.

The room was clean and everyone was very nice. A few little things made it a weird stay. The bathroom light was so dim it may as well not have been there at all and there was no soap in the room. Shampoo and conditioner, but nothing to use as handsoap. Seemed odd. Also, this is my fault, but I didn't realize the room didn't have a microwave. I've never been in a hotel room that didn't have a microwave, so I didn't realize I needed to look for it. Again, just seems odd.

Hotel was outdated and felt dirty. Shower seem to not have a proper cleaning in Months. No shower supplies provided. Carpet was old and dirty. The bed and pillows are also not what I would expect from a Hyatt.

Keys extremely sensitive. I had to get new keys3 times in a 2 night stay. Tv did not work. By the time I realized it, I had already unpacked. Not worth moving room at that point. Front desk tried to help but maybe check those tv’s when cleaning? Closets are very tiny. Room was a decent size but clearly took from closet and bath. Front desk very helpful.

Had stayed at other Hyatt Places and enjoyed them. This one was another story. Room layout RM 621 was terrible. You had to step into the shower to close the bath room door. The shower floor was uneven so shower didn’t drain. The sink was outside of bathroom. The TV was positioned so you couldn’t comfortably view it from the bed nor the seating area. The in-house little restaurant was a joke and out of everything.

The hotel is dirty and outdated. There was trash all around the parking lot. On top of that our car was broken into, they don’t have cameras and acted as if we were bothering them by reporting it to them. Police report was filed.

Booked 2 beds…arrived and only had single bed available. Staff didn’t care, was told I was out of luck and nothing they could do . Told us to use pull out…no sheets, blankets, pillows. Again no urgency from staff in finding things that should have been stocked in room and waited 20 mins in lobby.

Not Marriott Quality.
I was shocked at the condition and cleanliness of this Marriott. Trim missing, dirty windows, carpet ripped, ac didn’t work, faucet handle was broke. Would not recommend.

The property was very nice and hotel room was excellent. The only problem I had was, I arrived late, and was looking forward to my shower. Got undressed and ready to shower and there was no shampoo but 2 conditioners. Thought I'd just call down to the desk, but the phone didn't work at all. Tried to plug it in on both ends but that didn't work either. Just an aggravation for me personally. Otherwise, nice hotel.

Not a very clean room. My daughter slept on top of the couch cushions because when she pulled out the hideaway bed, wrappers fell out. The nightstand was covered in dust. I stopped looking around after that.
Refrigerator was leaking water and had a towel underneath it to soak it up prior to us getting there

The facility itself was pretty run down, only one elevator worked the entire stay. The bathroom had dark curly hairs in the corners of the tub, the tile around tub looked moldy, and the air in the room didn’t get very cold but was good enough for the rate we paid per night not to complain. Staff was very helpful and polite.

Room 215 has obvious water damage stains under the AC unit. The room smelled musty. Mold? The bathroom door is rotting away where it nearly enters the shower when open (bad design).

The hotel was nice and clean and do was the room - except for the large sofa couch. The couch cushions were worn out, dirty and one portion rolled like someone came back all sweaty from a workout and day there all evening.

Stayed for three nights while in town for a reunion. The hotel was located in a good spot for us--close to places we wanted to visit and to many restaurants. We had a nice room, but there were issues we didn't expect. At check-in we were informed that due to COVID, there was no maid service except between guests, so if we needed fresh towels or anything we could call the front desk and come get them. When we got to our room, the telephone didn't work, the radio/alarm clock didn't work, and the overhead light in the shower area was sometimes dim and sometimes bright. When we opened the sofa bed for our kids to sleep, there was debris and trash under it. On the other hand, the beds were comfortable, the TV was nice, the sofa was comfortable, the room temperature was good and easy to adjust, and the breakfast was tasty. Still, I really expected a room in better repair at a Hyatt property.
