Quiet. Nice view. Spacious for two. Decent price. Friendly front desk.
Did not like broken elevator call buttons;
Did not like that the down call button didn’t work and I had to press the up button
Did not like the browned hand towel left by the sink all nicely folded for guests

We were awoken at 8:15 by construction being done in the room above us which stunk because we had gotten back to the room after midnight after attending a party we were looking fwd to sleeping in the late checkout. The mgr told us that he couldnt give us a refund because we werent rewards members we were not pleased with that.

OK for the money
The rooms are spacious with a large desk and so are good for working. Downsides included - noisy neighbours (I could clearly hear what they were watching on tv at 1am), the aircon is loud, old, and seems very blowy and unhealthy. I forgive much of this because I think that hte rates are relatively good. The Menotomy bar which is adjacent is excellent.

Its was unkept...I had to change rooms due to animal odor, the 2nd room had caked dust on the fireplace, and other furniture candy wrapers behind the couch and stains on the bathroom walls, they didnt even bother to turn the alarm clocks back a week past daulight savings

The hotel is conveniently located near a restaurant and pharmacy in a safe, walkable, and bikeable neighborhood. The staff were super pleasant, and the hotel room was great with a full-size kitchen. Another nice feature was the complimentary breakfast. My sole comment is that the carpet in the room could use a little updating but that is my sole comment.

Boston trip.
It was for my grandson surgery. Drove 1300 miles. Stayed at all motels total 6 all were Hilton owned. All were excellent.

I think this Homewood Suites is fine. Kind and courteous staff, I enjoyed my stay in Oct 2023. The room is spacious and essentially overall the experience was what I expected. They have parking, free breakfast and the location is great especially if going to Cambridge and or Boston. I prefer to have the room turned over dally (I know some hotels are going in this direction) but it was explained up front and is available if you request it with 24-hour notice. For what we needed the hotel was fine and would stay again

We flew in for an event, unfamiliar with the area . Staff gave us superb directions on how to get there using the subway and busses, which exact ramp to take, which exact bus number. This was so appreciated, considering how big Boston is. They gave us confidence to navigate. Thank you!

For my room at least, there were a lot of things I didn't like about it. Things weren't clean, there were stains on the walls, the sheet had stains, there were weird banging sounds above me, like muffled clanging/machinery.
The shower had a dip inside it that prevented water from fully draining properly, so whenever I went to shower there was just leftover water from my last shower.
The shampoo bottle was miniscule.
The rug didnt seem very clean and I had to avoid looking at certain areas because there was just crumbs or something there that wasn't cleaned up before I stayed.
Some surfaces were sticky, not sure if it was adhesive or sugar but it was uncomfortable to accidentally touch it.
The kitchen space was great though, nice and tidy.
The bed was comfortable as well but I would have liked it more if the sheet didnt have weird stains. In retrospect I could have asked for a different sheet.

No to this hotel
I will never book at this hotel again. Ever. I had difficulties with this reservation and both hotels.com and the hotel front desk lied to me. Repeatedly. I do consulting work monthly with a local entity but I will never make a reservation here again. Beware.

Convenient property. Very comfortable hotel with the usual Homewood suites amenities and friendly staff. Buffet breakfast is ok good variety and quality. Quiet. Good night rest. Need a car i would say not so close to the T. Easy and safe parking. Pet friendly for sure!

Place is seriously run down. More so, very strange people here. I am under the impression there are some homeless people housed here. Maybe not, but definitely got the creeps from some guests. Many others were families moving into Tufts. That helped balance things out a bit.

Not as great as advertised
As I write this, the hotel is preparing for large scale renovations to start next year.
Admittedly, a family of five is difficult to house in the room sizes this hotel has.
The major issue was the bathroom. We were given a room with accessible shower (which we didn’t need but was probably all they had available despite reserving the hotel several weeks in advance).
The shower water would flood the bathroom which made it slippery and dangerous for my kids especially. We had to borrow a dirty mop to clean up the water regularly as house keeping only came on Monday Wednesday and Friday.
Housekeeping only made or changed bedsheets and one day didn’t even bother cleaning out the trash.
The air conditioning worked but made room very uncomfortable. We were either sniffling, coughing or one time one kid even threw up! We turned off the A/C and then we were fine so that was a solution we discovered too late ourselves.
The kitchenette was well stocked but no dish soap or cleaning sponge was provided on the first day.
Underground parking was very convenient. The hotel location is great as you can catch a bus into Harvard Square. Uber drives can get to you easily. There is a CVS across from the hotel which you can get stuff from if you need. And, the breakfast in the morning was just fine as well. Also the gym was decent with good machines to use and weights for lifting.
Overall, it was disappointing for the amount of money we spent for the five nights.

The staff at this hotel was absolutely wonderful! They went out of their way to be friendly, kind, and accommodating. The premises are well overdue for an upgrade; in fact, YEARS overdue. Carpets are fraying, dishes are stained, utensils are bent or missing, towels are frayed, etc. Two of the four laundry machines were out of order.

The staff are friendly and professional, but the condition of the room was not up to the Hilton standard. The carpet and sofa had obvious stains, the bathroom had slow draining sink, and the bed frame had a metal piece sticking out, maybe a renovation is needed.

Our kid is a student at Harvard and we've stayed here a couple of times. The front desk is not staffed all the time and both times we've stayed here we've had to wait for someone to check us in, but not long. Pros: staff is personable and courteous. Property is nice - grounds are well maintained, free covered/outdoor parking, complimentary breakfast with hold/cold options, spacious rooms/bathrooms with mini kitchens; AC (for hot Cambridge summers). It's safe, well priced and very well situated within the greater Cambridge area and in proximity to nearby colleges. Complimentary wi-fi. Cons; garage is a tight squeeze and could use better ventilation/a deep clean; like other hotels, the rugs in the rooms are of questionable cleanliness, the bed covering (top layer) was a little stained, pillow cases didn't match, pillows seemed old/little stained. Shower could use a little freshening. First couple of nights the TV signal wasn't stable.

The staff was friendly and helpful, but the facility is run down, inc: smelly carpet, fly in room on arrival, loud HVAC, peeling paint on ceiling, creaky mattress, door that did not automatically close (needed extra pull), poor water pressure in shower. And, the elevator... some serious mechanical smell the whole 4 days I stayed, with no sign of it being fixed - did not seem safe. Again, the staff was accommodating - but for $400/night? Would not ever stay here again. Room 411 was the worst. 329 was better, as far as the suites went.

Audra at the front desk was attuned to our every need. She was friendly, courteous and quite delightful. The breakfast is the best I have had at a hotel - the eggs were delicious, sausage cooked just right, etc. Monotomy Grill next door was fantastic and reasonably priced.

Absolutely loved this hotel , especially good quality given the price point Suite room was large and clean. Stack were great ! The one nearby restaurant across the street serves a nice dinner. Arlington is a bit outside Cambridge and Boston , but we had a rental car and the parking was easy

Only issue was the noise generated by the heating/cooling machine in the room. It was quite loud when it was running to the point of waking us up at night.
Television control of the stations was awkward and while the "guide" for the stations showed us what was available it was a running guide so you hade to watch the guide scroll through it's entire list of stations of 62 selections before it started again.

My stay at Homewood Suites was good. There was an excellent variety of breakfast items despite the fact that breakfast was served between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. There was an evening reception on Wednesday which was nice. It would be nice to have the reception more than once a week. The young man, at the reception desk, named King was pleasant, welcoming, and receptive during the easy check in process. He was also helpful and knowledgeable about eateries in the area. There are plenty of food options available. I would have liked more time for breakfast during the week. Maybe extend the time to 10:00 a.m. Otherwise, my stay was great!

My stay at this property was lovely, however they charged $75 afterwards as a pet fee. This was not advertised upon booking or checking in and I had to search their website for 15 mins to even find this policy stated anywhere. Don’t advertise yourself as pet friendly if you’re going to fail to make this policy known!

Every need was anticipated!

Clean Hotel in a new location
Very nice hotel with friendly staff in an excellent location. The Red Line station was walkable but it was not a safe walk due to traffic. We did find ample parking in the station's parking ramp. Speaking of parking this hotel could use more of it. The only other issues we had was the thermostat in the bedroom cycled too long. It was either hot or cold. Other than that it was a good hotel.

This hotel is not up to Hilton standards. Some of the bath towels had large holes in them. There was no cleaning or changing of towels, or emptying of trash cans or replenishment of toilet paper. Despite reporting twice that the overhead light in the kitchen was out, no one fixed it in our 4 day stay. Three of the electric outlets did not work (something was jammed into one of them and the other two were so lose that the plug would not stay in). The breakfast attendants started taking up the breakfast prior to the 9 am ending time. The garage is very small and we had to park outside in a public lot for two nights. While we were out on the third morning of our stay, with no warning, someone came in and shampooed the carpet in our unit, leaving it wet and smelly for the last two days of our stay. However, the front desk person was friendly and the cleaning staff we saw in the halls were also. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and the hotel’s location is convenient to Tufts but I don’t think we will stay here again.

Breakfast was great. Good location with lovely walking trails nearby. Room was very small. Had to call for maintenance so we could take a shower; the entire faucet had to be replaced. Not a great start to our stay. Disappointed not to have daily maid service for the money we paid to stay here.

I didn't realize that housekeeping is not done daily. Housekeeping is only done on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I had to request a housekeeper 24-hours in advance for Wednesday and Friday of our stay. With a family of 4, it was quite disconcerting. I had to ask for toilet paper and towels several times. For the price per night we paid, I expected housekeeping everyday. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay.

Audra is an amazing multi-tasking pleasant, calm, knowledgeable front desk associate. She bent over backwards to accommodate us on a weekend stay at a time the whole greater Boston was sold out on hotel rooms. She is absolutely amazing!
