The lady at the front desk was very nice. The lobby looks nice but smells like old cigarette smoke. The smell goes down the hall as well. Our room did not appear to be clean - there was candy on the floor, the bed cover appeared dirty, there were chunks of used soap stuck to the shower curtain, and the wooden furniture all appears to be beaten up and not wiped off. So it’s ok just for a nights sleep, but it’s not somewhere I would look forward to coming back to. I will keep my shoes on to walk on the carpet.

There was a terrible smell when walking into the building and our room. There seems to be a lot of long term residents living at the property. If you plan on eating the continental breakfast you better get up extra early. It was all wiped out by 630am on a Saturday and did not get replenished. Our room was filthy, especially the floor and bathroom. The pool was nice and staff were friendly.

No problem with front desk staff, nice people. We were driving thru and stopped for a few hours sleep. The room smelled awful, and the bathroom needed a deep scrub or full replacement. I can’t comment on the breakfast or anything else, as we were up early and left. Did appear dog friendly, so that’s a positive if traveling with pets.

This place was dirty. The bathroom had dried toilet paper stuck to the bathroom floor and the sink was leaking. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned throughout the entire hotel. I would not stay here again. The staff was friendly though.

Never again. Dont stay here!
I had expected a decent hotel as it is associated with Wyndham. But this was probably the worst place i have ever stayed. Immediately upon entering there is a smell of damp unkept hotel. We ckeck in late and i just wanted to get my kids to bed so i didn't complain then but..
We were supposed to have 2 queen beds in our room- they were double so it was tough sleeping. The floors were dirty. The bathroom was dirty. The chair in the room was that kind of damp with oil from being used for a long time and never cleaned. I would let anyone sit in it. Then in the am my husband went to make coffee in the maker in our room and the small little pot had the dregs of coffee so old in it there was mold growing!!! Told the desk in the am- 'oh sorry' was all i got. Will never stay there again!!

This was the worst stay I’ve ever had. The room smelled, was dirty, and I couldn’t sleep because the power kept coming off and on making the microwave beep every 10 minutes…stay clear away from this place

An acceptable room for the cost, given that it is high season. I booked a ground level room, originally told there were none. The manager chased after us in the parking lot and said he had one available, it was a welcome relief not to climb to the second floor. In the end, the managers kindness won out over everything! The room was adequately, clean, with adequate amenities, a really nice, hot breakfast, I would go back again.

The desk staff other than one staff who did not serve us but tried to explain and an elderly person who ended up being pleasant after were unfriendly, confused and messed up our reservations. Four people changed over the course of two days and each created their own confusion. At the end, one of us had to leave even after paying for a night due to frustration.
The property & rooms smelled moldy and the rooms were not clean with dust and dirt accumulated on the air conditioning and any corners - we even took photos. Worst experience - will never go there again!!

The place was beautiful on the outside but it smelled like cigarettes in the inside, the pillow cases had lipstick stains. Im pretty sure they were clean but for the first impression is not that nice. I had a pleasant time though, the staff were friendly and nice

Room was dirty, cobwebs in the curtains that have been there for some time. Coffee pot in the room had obviously left on with about an inch of coffee in it and was caked onto the bottom of the coffee pot. Old lingering various food smells permeated the hallways. Huge chunk that is damaged on the overhand to the hotel is very unsightly. A truck apparently misjudged it’s height. Oranges at breakfast were old and bitter.

DO NOT STAY HERE
Arrived at 11:45pm. Music blaring from a party. Walked up the stairs, dirty utensils and dirt all over them. Got to the hallway and was met with the smell of pot. Walked in our room, first light didn’t work. Bathroom was gross, water was brown. Our beds had what looked to be bed bug stains and crumbs everywhere. Beer cans in our room. Immediately left because I refused to let my kids sleep there. Woman told us we couldn’t get a refund even after explaining the issues.

The staff is very helpful and kind. If you get here between 6 am and 9 am the breakfast is free and has a good variety. If you like coffee, orange juice, apple juice, eggs waffles, bagels, biscuits, gravy. They have all of that and some more. Their room are nice and kept up with. If you want to work out they have a fitness room. If you need to do laundry and you have no money, they have a free laundry room for you to do your clothes. If you want to sit outside they have a gazebo out there. One on either side of the pool and one is on an open field on the side of the building. They have a pool but right now its to cool to swim. They have conference rooms you can have parties, birthdays, religious events and more.

First they didn’t have our room we booked through orbitz. They split us into 2 rooms but we have 4 kids. It was far from ideal. The doors were hard to unlock and open, the entire property smelled of cigarette smoke and stale, and overall was just very rundown.

My room with a king size bed was great. The mattress was very comfortable. The hallway smelled of maybe old cigarette smoke, but the room was great. I thought all the empty spools of wire around back was a little to much, but it didn't effect my sleep at all. I would return!!

Never again. This hotel doesn’t need renovation it needs to be burned down. Hair everywhere in my room. Brown water from the tub faucet. Shower didnt work at all. Outside the hotel is poorly lit at night and there’s trash and equipment everywhere. The entire place reeked of cigarette smoke and pot. The walls were peeling and had mold where the wall meets the ceiling. The remote for the tv was caked in dried food or worse. The pictures are so misleading and not recent. Don’t stay here. I would’ve been safer and much cleaner in my car for the night.

The hallway and my room smelled, somewhere between mildew and pot. The bathtub had strips of caulk that had fallen off the tile. It didn't look like the tub had been cleaned recently. The place had an odor about it.

I had to wait at front desk for staff for check in for 10-15 minutes. He was very nice and apologetic. Then the next night my keycard didn’t work and I had to wait for him again to get back to the desk. 3rd night card didn’t work again! But he came back to desk immediately. Well I had enough so I got my card to work grabbed my belongings and left. Again he was very nice but evidently the hotel expects him to work the front desk and do other work away from the desk. Very irritating.

Very courteous staff. Certainly something you would expect for a hotel buried deep in Appalacha. The rooms were clean but needed some repair and update. We stayed for a WVU game in Blacksburg and would go back.

The lobby seemed grand and inviting. The breakfast buffet had hot scrambled eggs and waffle maker and nice people-pleasing items.
Check in at 9pm was very long (over 30 minutes). The single staffer was pleasant but his phone rang and people were complaining that they got the wrong bed size, etc.
Our bathroom floor needed a good mopping to get hair and sticky grit up. My parents' room had a large bare spot where the carpet was worn off. I suspect the rooms are being renovated and we got old ones.
No elevator, and no ground floor rooms available for my parents. It's good that they enjoyed breakfast so much. And the beds were very comfortable.

NEEDS AN ELEVATOR!
NEEDS AN ELEVATOR.
Not good impression: tons of industrial cables and junk stored at one end of the parking area. It doesn't look like it goes with a hotel, messy, debris scattered around. Back door security was not operating. I came and went to my car several times at midnight, and didn't need my room key to get in the building. The doors were wide open. NO lighting from the exterior lights at the back door were on. It was dark, except for light from inside hall. Thus, I put a large object in front of my door, in my room, and also kept a light on, to feel safe.
NEEDS AN ELEVATOR. This is 2022, not 1952. For anyone on the second floor, I could not believe there was not an elevator. I'm slightly handicapped with bum shoulder, so carrying cases is slow. I didn't think I should ask for a handicap room on first floor, but I should have.
Those stairs with cases are unpleasant.
NEEDS AN ELEVATOR -- maybe two for this building. I saw one of the Housekeeping persons take a laundry cart down same stairs -- bumpity bumpity -- was loud, and she didn't look happy either.
NEEDS AN ELEVATOR. Under-staffed at breakfast, which was a good meal, but not enough staff to keep an eye on supplies. We had to go to front desk -- wait for them to finish another task -- to ask for more plates, forks, etc.

The paint was chipping in the room. The hallways smelt like cigarettes and urine. A painting fell of the wall while my kids were sleeping and almost missed hitting them. The equipment in weight room didn't work. No elevator is were on second floor. Ok just for a night stay but the rooms looked nothing like the pictures and was just a beat up motel

The ac unit had missing buttons. We had trouble turning it in. Door to bathroom wouldn’t open all the way, hit toilet. Hallways wreaked of cigarette odor. Lighting in room poor.

Room was dirty, there was noise dropping on the bed. The bathroom was mold and rusty they floor had hair and ashes on it. Wall paper was bubbling from the wall. Furniture needs an upgrade I was in room 103 we checked in at midnight just needed a place to sleep for a few hours. If it wasn’t for the time I would have searched for another hotel.

It was advertised as having a kitchen in the room and it certainly does not! Convenient for low budget stay but kinda smells of smoke everywhere, bright outdoor lights shine in room all night, and very dated, partially stained furniture, sheets, etc. Staff were friendly and free breakfast was great considering, though. Simple clean pool and grassy grounds helped. Really just frustrated that it was advertised falsely as having kitchen amenities in the room.

Hotel was filthy with dried blood on the bathroom door, and the inside of the room door. Carpets were sticky, there was mold in the bathroom, the patched drywall was falling apart, as well as a hole in the bathroom door.
On a positive note, the young lady at checkin was very sweet, and there was great water pressure in the shower.

Deceptive advertising. Our room barely slept 4, and not the 5 of us, and claimed to sleep 6. Bedding, curtains, and chairs had cigarette burns & holes, as well as being stained. Hotel AND our room. was permeated with smoke. The hallways and lobby were dirty and smelled heavily of urine. We will never stay at a Wyndham again.

We got there after a long day of travel and my son wasn't feeling well. We wanted to just check in so he could lay down and go get meds. no one was at the front desk. We yelled hello multiple times, we tried to call but no one answered. Another couple was also wanting to check in. We had already prepaid or we would have left. After about 30 minutes the person showed up. Said she was showing another guest around. She did reek of smoke.

Clean the rooms
The room was a little worn down, which would have been fine if not for the fact it was not clean. Random hair in the bed. Blood stains on the sheets. Very restless couple hours of sleep.

The breakfast was really lacking. Milk was not kept cold, cereal seemed stale and the bread for toast was already stale and hard. Hard some scrambled eggs but did not try them cause were not appetizing to the eye.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. There were pubic hairs on the bed, on the floor of bathroom and in the shower. I think I even saw bed bugs on the sheets. The rugs were gross and the halls were dark and felt very unsafe there. I have NEVER seen a more disgusting hotel. We did not stay the night, we left within the time it took to rent a room in a different hotel.

The rooms and halls are smelly, needs to be updated, Room supposely clean hand prints all over the glass. Looked out my sliding door pool was empty the hot tube had green water. It need a new overhall. very disappointing. Hot breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs Ask for a wake up call didn't get it. no alarm clock in room.

The bed sheets appeared to be clean but that's about all. The carpet, and floors were nasty. The hallways REEKED of weed and smoke. It made me sick so that I missed the concert I was in town for. NOT HAPPY!!

The manager was accommodating but the place was rough. I'm pretty sure someone was living in the room next to mine as they had two cats hanging out in the sliding glass door and a couple bags of garbage on their patio

You get what you pay for
You get what you pay for in the hotel business. lights barely working in the bathroom, cigarette holes in the furniture and the tv was bad. Probably the only thing worth it was the breakfast in the morning. I would upgrade and stay somewhere nicer.

Overpriced for the quality of room & hotel itself
The hotel is a ‘tired’ and in need of a renovation. Room was reasonably equipped: coffee maker, microwave. Staff were very helpful and breakfast nice.

There was little to like. This is an older facility with older fixtures--a leaky faucet, mold on the ceiling and under the sink, a bed that squeaked so badly my husband laughed every time I got in and out of the bed.

Our room was clean but obviously had had substantial damage (probably the entire wing was involved). Door didn't close properly on its own. Overall the place felt very run down.
No elevator to 2nd floor and stairwell was a little difficult to manage.
Breakfast was good compared to most hotels in this "category"

I checked in at lunch, the room and hotel was nasty. I'm in the Army Reserve and after I finished my duty for the day I called and canceled my stay. I have been informed that due to canceling my stay at 6:30pm they will not refund my money and was told by Expedia that you cannot do anything to assist me.

Disgusting property, urinated hallways, long term living with outside trash and debris, room had stains all over furniture and beds, locks did not lock. Open drug use. This hotel looked like a place for prostitution and drug users.

Staff was nice, that hotel is WAY pass due for a major renovation. The bathroom was filty, nasty. Not the fault of the clean up crew, it just cannot be cleaned anymore. the bathtub, dirtyness is embedded deep. I am far from fancy but there is a limit. Not recommend

This was one of the worst times for me having my reservations cancelled because of an error by Expedia or the hotel. They did not offer any explanation other than overbooked. I’m really dissatisfied with both of them. I rate both a ZERO!
