The location was perfect and close to everything. There is only valet parking and it’s quite pricey. Everything else about the hotel and room was perfect. Break had lots of options and was really good.

The hotel is dated and should be updated. The thermostat had a low battery which the maintenance personnel came and replaced. The shower leaked passed the stopper and caused the shower head to have really low pressure. The shower drain didn’t drain like it should, after a 10 minute shower the tub was half full of water. The safety lock on the door was loose and almost falling off. There was a safe in the closet but there were no instructions on how to use it.

Great Stay.

Great Location for shopping, Reasonable price
Awesome location for what we were wanting to do. Quick trip for shopping on Mag Mile. Close to stores we wanted to go to. Scenic walk to Millennnium Park. Easy drive to Navy Pier. Would stay here again. Dinner a block away at Genos East.

Valet parking! The mezzanine was our gathering place - lots of space with tables and chairs, very comfortable. The rooms are large too - just what I was looking for! Across the street from the hospital…lots of sirens

Wonderful place to stay that won't break the bank, and the breakfast is top notch for the area and price. All of the staff was friendly and helpful, but JT was a stand out in recommending spots around the area.

Location was perfect! Staff were friendly but ignored 2 requests for an extra comforter in our room. The room was dated and even had a section of wallpaper missing which exposed a lot of mold near the windows. I would stay here again for the 125/night that we paid but I wouldn’t pay any more than that, even in the peak season.

Mold on the bathroom and no exhaust fan. Faucet and shower head loose. Carpet, curtains and walls have multiple stains. Brackets for possible missing artwork still on wall. Door security latch loose and two screws completely loose.

They stay was nice. They over charged my card. I prepaid the room before I arrived. While checking in I told the gentleman that the room was already paid for and I just need the deposit held. Well he charged my card for 2 deposits ($100/each) and the price of room. Ridiculous. Locked my card so I really couldn’t enjoy our night in Downtown Chicago. Drove 2 hours to be here and this happened.

I've stayed a few times at this hotel and have been pleased each time.
No frills, but comfortable. Although without anything more than a cafeteria for breakfast, it is otherwise located in a prime area for restaurants, museums, other key tourist destinations, etc.
It is ideal for convention-center goers as it is often first on the shuttle bus routes for pickup and return.

Our room was situated directly on the backside of the 3 running elevators. This was quite the experience. No noise buffer at all.

We we’re given room 1909 key card at the 19th floor upon checking in. When we entered the room we got surprised that the room is already occupied. The guest in the room was annoyed. When I went back to the reception the receptionist just changed the key card and told me she already figured out what went wrong. But I did not hear asking for apology for the mess. My first time to experience this horrible mistake a hotel reception made in my entire life. Never will I come back to this hotel again.

Arrived hours before check-in time, but the hotel took our bags for us and we walked to Portillos for lunch and then did a little shopping. The continental breakfast was decent and plenty of seating. Food was spread out enough that guests were not on top of each other. Friendly staff.

People here made sure our stay was pleasant. Gave us any information about different options for eating and sights. Only thing bad that happened was i left a wake up call and never received it. Almost missing my transportation. But other then that, great place to stay.

I will not rank this property or ever use a Hampton Inn for my travels. My sister and I where unable to stay the night as her son, my nephew was injured in a football play off game and was taken to the ER. Expedia tried to work with the Hotel but the night supervisor was unwilling to refund my charges. Under the circumstances I find this was heartless. We planned on a fun night, but instead spent hours in the ER.

Check in should’ve been at 3pm but our room wasn’t ready till after 4pm. Front desk staff Yolo was very sorry and offered us a $25 credit to use for snacks which was very nice. Overall stay was pleasant.

Amazing customer service
My trip started off on a very high note with check-in. I originally had a double queen booked, but my travel partner changed from my sister to my boyfriend, and the front desk asked if I still needed the double queen. I asked if we could get a king room and not only did they switch us to a king, they gave us a room on the 38th floor! JT at the front desk was so helpful and awesome. He gave us a book of fabulous restaurants within walking distance, and we definitely took advantage of it! Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a lot of variety. I'm already looking at booking this hotel for my next Chicago trip!

It was nice that we were able to walk to a few establishments.
The room was not as expected. First of all, the bathroom was without a fan. With 4 adults, we would have thought a fan would have been installed and that we wouldn't have to request a fan. Plus, in the shower, the shower head was extremely close to the shower wall. That made showering very difficult! Also, the bathroom door did not close once you were in the bathroom. The door was off its hinge. That was very intrusive. Another hindrance was that the fridge didn't work. We were told we wouldn't be able to get a replacement. However, when we told the staff member that our son has type 1 diabetes and that his new vial of insulin had to be refrigerated, he then found a fridge for us...not sure why there wasn't one and minutes later one appeared?
Lastly, my son walked around the hotel room in his feet all evening. We noticed that next morning that his feet were black due to the soiled carpet. That was disgusting!
No, we won't be back.

This hotel has a great location and very nice staff. The building and rooms are dated and the air conditioner is very loud. Breakfast was Ok. The parking fee was $59 per night and was convenient. The elevators get very busy in the morning but are ok the rest of the day. It has a nice gym with great view on the top floor. Overall I had a good experience here.

I stayed in the hotel 4 night and i stayed in room 1820 which is right next to the elevator so I could not sleep well because of the elevators noise going up and down all night. Other than that, the hotel location is great ans staff amazing

We had such a great stay. Upon arrival, we had a rehearsal dinner to attend. Our ac unit in our room wasn’t working. Since it was cooler out it wasn’t a big deal at the time. I messaged the front desk via the Hilton app. They sent someone up the next afternoon and moved us rooms with no questions. They were apologetic and gave us a room exactly the same as the one we were in. We have stayed at other places in Chicago and the customer service just didn’t compare. Free breakfast was great too!

I'm not hard to please when it comes to hotels but this hotel has seen better days. No matter how you dress it up its still run down in my opinion. The bed was hard and old. You could feel the other side when laying in it. The carpet left my socks dirty and you can tell where there was a leak and the patch work was pealing on the ceiling. There was mold in between the tiles in the shower. Missing pictures on the wall. The noise from the constant elevator was like a train running through the room. Its across from hospital emergency center.
Sirens at night are VERY LOUD due to the high rises and echos. Breakfast was TERRIBLE. Uncooked sausages, faux eggs, waste of time especially since there are 40 floors and 3 tiny elevators that you have to wait 20 minutes for. A 7-11 has better options.
Only thing that I was impressed by was the door men. very nice and helpful all the time.

Nice stay in downtown Chicago. Hotel clean. Carpet a little worn with loose threads in room. Not enough elevators to quickly get serviced when busy. Clean rooms only every other day.

The staff and location were what really made the hotel a great stay. Perfect location right off of Michigan and you could walk to just about any spot.
The staff, especially Lynette were great. She was so friendly and helpful. A true asset to the Hampton Inn.
Breakfast was good, nice to have that included.

No Sleep After 7.30am
The room was very spacious and clean and tidy and contrary to what I was told on reception it was cleaned daily and to a high standard. Unfortunately my room was next to the bank of lifts, so no sleep after around 7.30am.
Breakfast was complimentary but it was a very poor standard. I went out for breakfast after the first day as it was better to pay then suffer!

the HVAC system didn’t work well. it was very loud and didn’t regulate well. we were either freezing or hot throughout the night and eventually had to just turn it off
the gentleman working in the breakfast area was very efficient and courteous. he was a highlight of our visit

Great location near lots of shopping and restaurants. A short 5 minute walk to L train that will take you all around the city including to O’Hare airport. The property is showing it’s age a bit but was overall clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Needs a facelift (inside) and more elevators. Had to call for room service, it wasn’t automatic each day. Room smelled musty and like prior guests had smoked in it (like the guests over the last 10-20 years, not just the prior guests).

Check in was quick and the guy at the desk was friendly. The room was clean and had a gorgeous view. When we ran out of towels more towels were quickly sent up to our room which was greatly appreciated. The hotel is convenient to all the attractions.

The bathroom and the room was clean but we were there 3 nights and our room never got serviced and therefore never got clean towels. The room was hot and the thermostat didn't work. The safe didn't work either it would not lock.

Didn’t like being surprised with them adding $200 on for incidentals. The bathroom could have used some updates, but wasn’t worth rating them bad on that, everything worked. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable either. The location was perfect for walking to and from places. If you plan on taking advantage of the breakfast they offer make sure you get there as soon as they open, otherwise seating is limited and you’ll have to venture out to get breakfast.
