Check in was slow and seemed redundant considering i had all the hotels.com info and reservation was there . Front desk person was unable to clearly answer questions . Remote and clock in room were broken - remote had duct tape on battery area and barely worked .

The hotel is nicely located and generally was comfortable. Good included breakfast and excellent barman at night. However, it has serious maintenance problems. The heating system in our room was rigged to maintain a relatively good ambiance, but the main unit controls were dead and even the on/off function did not work - I could not shut off the fan, let alone bring it to a lower, less noisy speed; the temp controls were not active, although the thermostat was displaying requested levels. The second issue was that for our five days stay one of two elevators was not functional. With better maintenance it would be a nice hotel.

Second stay at this hotel. As before I found everyone pleasant and attentive.
The accommodation is on the more basic end of the spectrum but is clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe. No complainrs and will return.

Staff were all attentive and pleasant. I was worried that it might have been more like a European youth hostel but it is a fully fledged hotel. Room was clean and the large bathroom especially so. While not a high-end luxuty hotel it was definitely comfortable and I enjoyed my 2 night stay. Certainly will return.

This Aloft is in need of some upgrades. Lobby is tired with working wallpaper and messy common areas. The rooms are very basic. The veneer was peeling off the desk/counter in our room and the door handle had been ripped off of the bathroom door. The door is ridiculously heavy for such a shoddy room and with no handle made it even more challenging. Now that said, the handyman did come up on thanksgiving day to install a few one. No housekeeping service on the holiday yet no one let us know - we would have conserved towels differently. We have relatives in the area and have used the Element across the parking lot before. We will return there in the future. This place is dingy and sad.

This is ok for an overnight if you have no other options available. The rooms are extremely outdated. The room was dark even with the light on and a window blind open. There is limited desk space to work. The mini fridge was broken and had to be replaced. There is an odd curtain hanging to cover shelves. The shower needs new grout and was disgusting. You can see the shower wall from the interior of the bedroom, which is odd. The air conditioning worked but it when not on the room was hot and our stay was in the fall, the windows do not open. The hallways were dark and reminiscent of a old Las Vegas Hotel. They do offer a small breakfast that you have to pay for. As far as the area it was quiet and plenty of parking. There are plenty of restaurant options about 7 minutes away by the mall or the small downtown area which is small and walkable but some unique gourmet fun places to eat.

The staff I met was friendly easy going. Nicholas front desk, Robin breakfast attendant. Benson was friendly. The issue was not being told checkout time and being kicked out at 830 at nite .2 days before my wedding. We will b comped, but the night workers was rude and insensitive. If we return to Salem, never again . Hot water didn’t work insink, and thk god I speakSpanish to communicate w/ housekeepers. It made a beautiful trip stressful esp the day before I’m going to another hotel(#3).. Ridiculous.. I hope I get my $ back. No food really avail. Just breakfast items by 10am..

Lumpy mattress, slope in the shower so the water didn't drain properly and front door wouldn't lock. Missed my meeting waiting for maintenance to show so door problem could be resolved.

I liked that parking was free and it was convenient to where we were going to be sightseeing. Staff was friendly. The beds were pretty comfortable but the sliding door in the bathroom was very hard to open and close and the shower had hardly any water pressure. They need to fix the track for the sliding door in room 113!
Other than that it was a pleasant stay

Upon entering the room, you notice immediately that there is not a door on the sink area. The toilet and shower (which leaked under the door) were self-contained so if you wanted privacy while dressing this where you went. One hook in that area with no place to hang a towel close enough to shower. Consequently, while soaking wet you had to exit the shower to grab the towel. The refrigerator was kept on a rickety wooden contraption under the sink. When you pulled it out, it teetered and did not stay secure. Unfortunately, there were no bedside lamps which made reading difficult in low light. Except for an office, armless chair, there were no place to watch TV except while sitting on the bed. No dresser to place clothes. The bathroom had some shelves with a few hangers, but it was not the same as having a closet space. Will not be back.

Whenever I travel I try to stay at an aloft hotel! I usually find them exceptionally clean, quiet and walkable. This particular location does not appear to be walkable. The bed linens had a slight odor but other than that my stay was good. Your staff at this location is excellent! Very helpful, friendly and courteous! Also, there was no information regarding the surrounding area. Thank you.

Nice hotel in a great location - very close to I-95 but away from everything. Our stay was short but relaxing & positive. It has in indoor pool & gym which we didn't get a chance to try out.

The wallpaper in the room is coming apart at the seams, the condition of room in general was shoddy. The fire alarms went off and we had to evacuate twice at 7:30 am. For 2 days, Marriott should be very concerned about these properties

The room was nice and clean, however there were a few things that could've been better. The wall had a patch of wallpaper that was trying to "cover" a hole. The hotel "bar" was closed when we wanted food. The shower glass plastic seal didn't keep water from leaking on floor. The shower dial didn't work well. Hard to get water temp right.

I had called to request an hour earlier check in which was promised. When we arrived the room wasn’t ready. The desk person did have a handicap accessible room that we could have. We took it as we were due at a wedding but it didn’t look like the rooms pictured.

Clean, modern and convenient stay. I always love aloft for their pet policy and minimalist and functional hotel rooms. Robin from the breakfast cafe was so lovely and Nick B at the front desk was very accommodating and friendly! Would definitely stay again!

We got to property and were told there was no water because a pipe broke, but it was being fixed. It was not fixed that night. I can understand that things happen but management made no effort to provide bottled water tlll next morning. We went to grocery store to get some the night we arrived. Also property is in poor condition. Bare spots in rugs. Toilet paper rack came off the wall in my hands.

Was unpleasantly surprised after a long road trip that there was no running water at first and after some time cold water only was restored to the sinks only. Was not informed previous to getting to location nor given the opportunity to plan ahead and try to relocate due to time of arrival. With our hesitation I chose to stay at the Lexington,MA ALoft hotel because of the pleasant stay I had at the Providence,Ri location , after this stay I will not stay at another ALoft hotel unless the situation is rectified .

Mostly good but no hot water
The hotel was nice. The food options were a little strange. There was no hot water in the morning. I understand that things happen but there didn’t seem to be any plan for service recovery - the staff were overwhelmed and didn’t know how to handle it and there were some Karen’s losing their minds. Seems like they could have offered something as a show of good faith (breakfast, discount, something).

Trendy lobby and rooms. Rooms were clean, beds comfy, and it was very clean.
But, we were put in a wheelchair accessible room and the shower was hard to use and the shower floor slippery. The breakfast can use some improvements in efficiency because if more than 1 person shows up at a time there's a wait due to only 1 person working.

A front desk worker was rude and not accommodating when I informed him that there was not a iron nor ironbound in my room. He insisted that there was, then told me to come down to the desk and he would give me a iron and use the desk as a ironboard.

Really thought the convenience for us visiting a family member in Lexington as good as we could have hoped for. We had stayed at an Aloft in SC so the rooms and amenities were similar. There is no housekeeping during the visit - fine since I was with my son. I'd recommend some attention to the pool area as some furniture was in disrepair and just tidying up the area as it appears it's an afterthought. The staff was very friendly but thought the whole place could be picked up - for example trash cans overflowing and towels and empty bottles just need to picked up.

The bathroom light is broken. On and off by itself. The gym is small. The pool is small and dirty. The pool table is old and only has 1 pool stick. Some staff are friendly. The breakfast hours are different everyday. No schedule posted.

Associates at the front desk did not appear to be well trained and were unable to handle the registration process properly. When the request for service to the room, cleaning and fresh towels were requested, it did not occur. In order to have the room cleaned and get clean towels, I needed to speak to a manager. Some things to consider...
Here's the deal: I'd been at Aloft in NYC and the vibe was similar. The people at the desk were very welcoming. Here are 3 things that concerned me. 1) Clearly the long rug down the hall had gotten soaked somehow. There was some suction thing trying to deal. It wasn't noisy. There wasn't a smell. But when I walked down the hall in stocking feet I realized it was soaked. Don't know how it happened or what else you could do. But troubling. 2) The photo of the workout room made it look far more well equipped and extensive than it was [probably because of the mirror at the end]. A list of actual equipment on the website would help. 3) You had to crawl under the desk to see the plug in the room. 4) Like many hotels, you had to reach into the shower area to turn it on. (I.e., door on left; shower control on right.
None were deal breakers. I was there for one night so it was fine. But...

We had a really great experience at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby was decorated for christmas and cute. We had a drink at the bar which was fine. The bar tender, desk staff and breakfast staff were all great. The location is very very good if you want to spend time seeing revolutionary war related sites as it is walking distance from minuteman national park. My one beef is that the breakfast sandwich I ordered was not as advertised - it did not have veggies. I would have ordered the other sandwhich if I knew. Otherwise great hotel! It did everything we needed and was very pleasant. Thank you.

We booked this hotel because we wanted to stay in the Lexington area. The location couldn’t be any better. We were only a 30 minute ride into the city. After a long day (also traveling with 2 toddlers) we decided to order take out and eat in the hotel lobby. The bartender Jim was super helpful and accommodating! We will definitely be back.

Nice modern design and cool room layout. Pretty as the shower is, water escapes under the door - I had to block it with a towel. The other thing is, theres not much food nearby - none walkable and most further places close by 9pm. But the staff was super frienfly and helpful, and the treadmills in the gym are awesome - I rarely get the opportunity to go above 12mph on one.

This hotel is very comfortable and convenient to many sites around metropolitan Boston. We would stay there again. One complaint is that we had paid for breakfast upfront, but early on Sunday morning they ran out of eggs, which meant most breakfast options were not available.

The room was very comfortable and quiet. We wish there was breakfast a little bit longer than until 10 as we were at a part the night before and slept in. There was not much but yogurt available at 10 and we had no car. We had a very friendly staff member order a car for us to go early to the airport and the driver showed up. However, there was no record of this service order in the hotel log so until the driver was there, we were not sure anyone was coming and that made us nervous. It was a nice and ver clean hotel otherwise.

Our family stayed for 3 days. We liked the staff on the property. We did not like our room door would stick there were stains on curtians. We did not like that the mattress moved around on the platforms. We had to ask for Toilet paper and garbage bags. If we wanted the room cleaned we had to tell them to clean it. There was supposed to be a restaurant on property. The restaurant was microwaved foods.

Out of a 7 day stay our room was cleaned 3 times and those times were only because I asked several times. Even with asking I often returned to a dirty room and had to get clean towels myself. Plumber left dirty plunger in the bathroom. Understaffed
