I enjoy staying here when I Ubrr late nights. the staff is always so nice and professional and they always ext nd a warm welcome when you come in. the rooms are clean and its pet friendly as well. This hotel is near everything, including food, drink, clubs and shopping. Awesome❤️

We stayed here a night while traveling from NY back home to FL. The place was average, not luxury but decent which is what we need. The room is clean, sheets are clean. Overall clean, tidy and decent. We had a restful night. Grateful!

I liked the microwave and refrigerator, being in the room. I liked the size of the TV. I did not like not having enough towels in the room for me and my 3 guests. I did not like the soap dispenser in the shower being empty and hard to dispense. The room was a bit small, but doable. I love having free coffee in the front, but there was no non-sweetener, just regular sugar. there also were no lids for the coffee cups. Checkin/out was easy.

I had a great stay
I have seen a lot of poor reviews on this place but I figured I would try anyway. My room was spotless, I did not see any bugs or anything of the sort. The beds were comfortable and the room smelt nice. I actually had the luxury of meeting the owner and I can tell he takes pride in his properties very nice guy. I was brought towels, wash clothes and trash bags daily. Staff was very friendly. The area does have a bit of foot traffic but after all it is a big city. If I ever go back to the area again I will definitely use their services again. Price was just to hard to beat and service was solid.

Never again!!
It was in a rough neighborhood, smelled like a pot smoking festival as soon as we walked in and all through the building. The room stank, no clean towels, mold in the bath tub, cigarette holes in sheets, and unidentifiable bugs. Would not recommend to anyone

The room was very basic but clean and had what you would excpect microwave, fridge, large screen tv. Its close to a busy intersection so kinda noisy at times. Very close to alot of places to eat and a Wawa about 2 blocks away. Staff were very friendly. Would stay again.

Dirty moldy fridge, couldn’t book an extra night without double the rate for that night, heater rattled all night and had a smell, wifi was turned off , tv was inoperable, hair everywhere, vomit stains on the back of the door, dirty towels, and dirty pillows.

when we looked at this place we weren't sure. so here is a straight up review. no bugs, could use new pillows. beds comfy. I just came here to crash. you have a front waiting room area, so thats an added safety measure. people said "bad neighborhood". Not so bad. there is a wawa nearby and starbucks. we walked from the ferry upon arrival during the day. lots of spots in portsmouth to dine and drink. everyone who works here is friendly and very helpful. only encountered one strange guy on the premises who was very drunk on our second night, and he was leaving as we arrived. quiet. could use an upgrade or remodel since the fan in bathroom was loud. there is dispenser soap, shampoo and lotions. no swimming pool. just a straight up place to crash here.

Hotel looked like it should be in the middle of a 3rd world country. Trash all over the place, although, this probably wasn't all the hotels fault, but glass broken all throughout the parking lot. Room was updated and clean, but it def. needed a "deep clean"...black stuff on the bathroom ceiling and bottle cap was found under sink..had it been swept? Someone was smoking weed "somewhere" as it wafted into our room in the early morning hours. Staff was very friendly though. Overall, we didn't pay too much for the room because of the few hours we were going to be there, but I wouldn't spend more than 1 night here again.

My stay was horrible. I had no TV for 2 days , no towels upon arrival. Place looked like a shelter. I had my bag stolen the place was just ultimately dirty and just all over bad experience I would not recommend it to anyone else

Nice staff, dirty rooms
The hotel has a 'newly refurbished' sign outside, however this did not seem to be the case. We asked to move rooms three times due to hairs all over the bathroom, dirty walls and strong smoke/urine smells. Luckily, the lady working on the front desk was extremely helpful and we eventually settled on a room. Book with caution.

I booked this hotel for my family and I right down the block from a family function we were attending to avoid drinking and driving. Once checked in, my Sisters helped us bring our things upstairs to avoid double trips and before we entered the room, the room phone was ringing. The front desk clerk told us we had to leave because 5 people were in the room. I tried to explain the additional 2 people with us were just helping bring our things upstairs and leaving but he wouldn’t hear it. The police were eventually called because we didn't feel it was fair that we were trying to be responsible by not drinking and driving and now we either wing it and drive home, or sleep in a parking lot until we were good to drive because all nearby hotels were completely booked for the night. Ultimately, they didn't want us on the property and the police couldn't do anything about it so we were forced to stay in the car on the McDonalds parking lot next door for a few hours until it was safe for us to drive home. WORSE EXPERIENCE I’VE BEEN THROUGH AT A HOTEL IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!

Overall, I had a wonderful stay. The staff was helpful, friendly, and inviting. I would definitely suggest this place to anyone staying in the area in need of an affordable hotel. Doesn't look like much from outside but its deceivingly decent inside. Give them a try!

Area was awful. There was people standing outside the door dancing and being loud. In the lobby there was strong smell of cigarette and weed smoke. There was a cop sitting in the lobby the area was so bad. Our door had a huge gap in it and signs to lock the door for safety.

Although this is definitely what you would call "budget" accomodations, they do go out of their own way to make it as good as they can. Even though we were in smoking rooms, there was no odor. There are newly installed laminate floors, and nice artwork on the walls.

Lots of sex and banging on the walls beside us. When i spoke to management about problems he said he knows and dowsnt blame me for canceling our last night with them

Horrendous experience!!
Where do I start...prostitute in the lobby, constant drug deals outside, stained sheets, blankets and towels, bugs, filth, non working refrigerator and TV...the fun didn't end! We checked in around 1AM and checked out the next morning and found someplace else to stay.

The beds were comfortable and the location was not far from from the waterfront area.
No safety chain on door, one soap for both sink and shower, no shampoo, 2 towels (no wash cloth or hand towel), no cups, no tissues. Loud barking dog for long periods. Every noise in hallway sounded like it was in our room - banging doors, voices, etc. No soundproofing. Elevator broken, interior halls could use refreshing. Seemed to be mostly full time residents, not travelers.

There was nothing to like about this place…I took pictures of the disgusting room we had, blood stained sheets with burn of cigarettes, looked like blood and burn marks on the lamp shade, there were stains on the bed itself, mold on the curtains by air conditioner, it looked like our door was kicked in at one point because the door frame was busted, the bathroom had a hole in the wall with screws sticking out enough you could scrap yourself, the tub was full of soap scum, and the sink needed the caulk replaced be used it was falling apart and moldy…the guy who he led us in looked high as a kite and of course we smelled the weed as we walked in. The area was scary is all o have to say and it just felt unsafe, we left an he after we checked in and put money down on a nicer place on the water….will NEVER stay here or recommend to anyone.

I only liked it cause it accepted dogs, but the room walls were moldy and only provided one shampoo and body and it was 4 people. The hallways were loud people were shouting at midnight, couldn't sleep. My dog kept growling and barking due to aggressive shouting from the other tenants staying at the hotel. WORST hotel ever to stay and unsafe people were doing drugs out the parking lot. Will stay here again for a getaway.

Need to improve general customer service
I tried contacting the business several times. Searched on google for phone number. I was unable to come due to personal issues and here I am trying to contact the hotel several times and I couldn't get through to any one. I finally get through to someone, turns out the number listed on google connects us to an operator so its actually not the actual location phone number. The operator from corporate office gives me the direct location phone number and its the wrong number!! Wasted almost $200 for nothing. Thanks for being so great and answering my call!

A Dirty Room Hotel…
Not that good because the room is not exactly what were spected.. The bedsheet looks dirty all of them has yellow stain, the cover has cigarette burn, the bathroom door doesn’t lock and the cable didn’t even work with the poor signal.. The smell of the room is not good (smell meldew). The bedframe is backward that we have to arrange it ourself..

I DID NOT like this hotel at all. Everything was out of order, the elevator, vending and atm machines. It smelled like cigarettes and the room was dirty. The bathtub was disgusting and the bathroom door was broken it wouldn't even close. It was a very heavy traffic of people who were very loud. It seemed more like a rooming house rather than a hotel. I did not feel safe at all and DO NOT stay tbis hotel at all. The staff was rude and no help and they did not tefund me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!!!

Dont stay at red roof inns with covid-19
Yeah we had issues in this room we checked in at 1:57 a.m. brought her stuff up in the room and we were checking out by 2:12 a.m. the same night we walked in it look like somebody use the shower and the toilet was filthy inside like somebody went to the bathroom flush it but didn't all go down and I think they gave me room that was already used cuz even the cheats when I went to look at them the top Corner had all these brown marks on it they were burnt so I was like hell no I ain't staying here so I went to go leave the door knob was dirty looks like blood on the back of the door when I went downstairs to complain she told me that I did that because I was up in the room how did I do all that damage within 15 minutes and they refused to give me back my money I wouldn't stay at the Red Roof Inn I wouldn't stay at this one or any other Red Roof Inn very low can't class people there when I called the complaint to get my money back they told me I couldn't get my money back because I technically stayed there for 15 minutes and really with covid going on please room should be spic and span smelling like a cleaning chemical when you walk inside then you know they've been sanitized this room was not sanitized was disgusting and the people that work there was not friendly at all should have called the police that night now I'm trying to get my refund after I already left and it's been nothing but a nightmare

You get what you pay for
Great location close to everything with plenty of eating options close by. Room was relatively clean, however room smelled of cigarettes complete with holes from cigarette burns in the bed sheets, also one of the beds was sunken in and very uncomfortable. Staff ranged from apathetic to polite it depended on who you interacted with. Not the worst place i have stayed, but definitely can improve.

My stay here was a lil nerve wrecking. The service was great and they were very nice, but the area is bad. Crack heads, drug dealers, prostitutes, and various individuals walk all around and across this hotel all day and night. Even the security they had, knew all of them....smh
But the rooms were ok to stay in and the service was great.

It was horrible! Arriving to the hotel it was drug addicts hanging in the parking lot and inside the lobby. The elevator didn’t work so I had to walk up 3 flights where there was a man in the steps high as a kite. The room has hardwood so that was sticky and dirty, the shower curtain had mold on it and was orange at the bottom, one of the beds the sheets were dirty, microwave wasn’t clean at all. Inside door of the refrigerator looked molded. And the towels weren’t white at all, look like car rags,I took pictures to show the desk clerk and she gave me another room which wasn’t that perfect either. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE!!! And you would think because of Covid they would clean better. I’m so glad I travel with hand sanitizer, Lysol and bleach wipes, because I was not comfortable at all there
