Clean & quiet, should have checked, most motel have a continental breakfast. No continental breakfast, ordered a (3) egg omelette, the worst omelette that I have ever ordered, really wasn’t fit to eat, ($5.00) for orange juice I thought was a bit spendy. Would stay there again but would not order from there restaurant.

Wonderful hotel..great location. But...
Did not get my wake up call at 4
10 am.
Luckily i woke up on my own and scrambled down to get shuttle to airport...only to be told they did not have any driver for another hour. Made my flight by the skin of my teeth. I made it one minute before i would be denied boarding.

I'll start with the good. The bed is super comfortable and all in all the room is clean. I was given 3 conditioners instead of a shampoo and conditioner, but there's worse things in life. Lots of dust and hair along the baseboards in the bathroom, kind of gross.
The food that is supposed to be a free buffet for breakfast I was charged for is HORRIBLE! WORST hotel breakfast I've ever had. When asked why I had to pay, I was given some crap excuse of Expedia didn't push it through. Ridiculous, I paid for the room. It should be free. I'm angry I had to pay for that crappy food...really horrible.
The lobby bathroom was disgusting, no stalls had toilet paper and the one that did had a toilet that was overflowing with crap water. This was at 9:30 in the morning. Just disgusting.
The room was nice and clean otherwise and very quiet. I would say avoid the breakfast and the lobby bathroom and bring your own toiletries.

We arrived at the hotel at 2pm, and let the staff know we were on the premises to check in when the room was ready. We were told that check in would be 3pm, however we did not receive a key to our room until after 4pm.

Will never stay at this property again. Traveled for a sporting event. Staff treated everyone there like they didn’t want us to be staying at their hotel. Treated the hotel like a prison. Rude to customers, made special rules for the sporting teams. Absolutely worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. Will not recommend holiday inn moving forward.

Terrible experience.

Great stay. Great location for basketball and football games. However, guy at front counter told us nothing about breakfast and how it works. So, next morning was a mix-up with using a voucher for the meal. Same guy again told us nothing about how it worked. Communication, please!

Breakfast for two
Everything was very good, except I paid for three to have breakfast and only was allowed to have 2 eat breakfast. Hotel said you booked third party call them. At this hotel only 2 are eating when you book it says three. Close to where the Illini play bb and fb. Location is good.

Staff was great. Rooms were clean. Hotel is huge! It's a convention center and there are lots of long hallways in order to get to wear you need. As stated in their description, breakfast is not included. I didn't think this would be a huge deal but it kind of was. Aren't Holiday Inn known for their great free breakfasts? Parking is extremely limited. There is an overflow lot we had to park in. Very dark and unsupervised. I would be nervous if I were a woman walking alone.

OK, but not great
The room was great. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant and bar were closed when they were supposed to be open. The breakfast was OK but you only had one or two choices included. There was vomit in the hallway. There were transients coming in the hotel to get free stuff. Overall, I would say it is an OK place to stay if you don’t pay too much. There was a van in the parking lot that had been broken into and vandalized.

Well, the floor was sticky and it was obvious they don't clean everywhere cause we noticed some things under the TV in the bedroom. I'm also very upset that no one told me the price of the room to confirm that's what I'd wanted. If I'd known, I would've asked to be downgraded. They also didn't explain about breakfast, which I feel is something every hotel is supposed to do.

Great with a couple hiccups
Overall it was really good. Only issues were that there was very limited onsite parking, the shower didn't have hot water, and there was a candy wrapper left on the floor of my room. Staff was very friendly, though, and I enjoyed almost everything else!

They’re No adhering to their cleanliness promise.
Very disappointing to say the least. Two elevators, one was out of service the entire. I’m all for stopping the spread of germs, and anything else. Our room was on the 4th floor, the hand sanitizer off the elevator remained empty, vending machine was completely empty, roaches crawling on our bedroom walls. This stay was very uncomfortable. Positive: Friendly staff.

We came to stay to drop our kids to college. We put some bags with groceries bags on the table and one of the wheel broke off the table. Also, bathroom wasn't clean enough, I still hair at the shower as well as a cockroach run inside the bathroom so I have to give a disappointed rating for that in particular but besides that, front desk was very friendly and our check in process in quick and smooth.

The property is worth the price we paid; room size (young family of 5), location (near Illinois University campus, but away from busiest campus life areas), and our children enjoyed the pool. There are lots to eat and do nearby, and everything is a short or drive away.

The staff was very good. The configuration of the room was weird. The bathroom had a sliding door that was not attached to the ground. It was difficult to get it to stop where the handle was to open it. The bathroom was right in front of the beds. The TV was off to the side in the living room which made it hard to see from the far bed. Really liked the staff, but have no intention to stay here again.

Illinois Half Marathon stay
The associates were very friendly, easy check in and check out. Baxter's Grill next door was perfect for carryout dining to enjoy in comfort of the room. Room and hotel were very clean. Location was perfect for walking to dining and recreation.

What I did like was the location in the area. When checking in things were fine. Except, my room was at the far end of the hotel and I have COPD and then I could not find a handicap spot. So, I had to park 1/2 block south, across the street and 1/2 block into the parking. The convention center was having some type of celebration so close parking was taken by celebration goers. There was only 4 or 5 handicap spots. I had told them about my COPD earlier and they acted as if it was no big deal. I took my car to the parking lot and spent almost 20 minutes walking back to the hotel having to stop at least 3 times because of difficulty breathing. I got to my room and got set up for a two night stay. I had a 4 hr drive to get there and was met then by the adjoining room being attached with no real barrier from the sound of several young people in the room next door. They did leave shortly and went to the celebration only to all return shortly after 10 that night. I tried to sleep and gave up at about 11 and called the desk to see if they had a quiet time for guests. Yes, they did it was to start at 10, I told them it was almost 11 and they asked if there was a problem. Yes, that is why I called. The desk then came up and took care of it. I checked out early and had to call Expedia. Could not understand foreign person on phone to even know what to do. Front desk tried to tell her to call Mon. for Mgt. All I could understand was 72Hr. Plse fix my refund.

I have never slept so much. That makes it most satisfying for me. Agreed tv position js bit awkward from bed but u get used to it. Checking in n out was no hassle. Have ample parking space on the back street. Shall for sure return again.

Hotel parking options were not great - no where to park with threats of being towed if park in front of the hotel... have to walk across the street at night, with little light - it would have been good to know ahead of time... since raining most days didn't help either

The location is great for the State Farm Center and Zupke Field.
The heater in the room was much too loud and kept waking us up when it would cycle on during the night.
