Overpriced and not very clean
So I booked this hotel versus some of the other hotels in the area that were comparabky priced as they had some negative reviews about the pool, cockroaches, or bedbugs. Basically I wanted a clean hotel. The staff was nice as they let us check out at noon the next day instead of 11 as we asked the night before for no additional fee. However, we got there at maybe 5 PM on a Saturday and they were already out of towels, and when we went swimming the next morning, they continued to be out of pool towels.
There is also a dirty diaper wrapped up by where the pool towels should be from Saturday evening and continued to be there Sunday when we checked out. I told the staff about this and they basically shrugged it off. The beds in the bedroom have space underneath them, which I don't enjoy in a hotel because things can get lost but underneath that space, there was what I hope was part of a chocolate cake. I did not want to sniff it to find out.
So the positive things about this hotel are that the staff seemed nice. The room was ready when we got there the breakfast buffet had a waffle maker, and was on par with what I would expect from a continental breakfast. The TV in the room seemed fine, although it was at a weird angle And the beds were comfortable enough. The swimming pool was a little small, but it was warm enough and it was open. There was no hot tub by the pool.

Just Ok
No toilet paper except what was on the roll. Breakfast was horrible. The biscuits were rock hard, 2 pieces of shriveled up sausage links in the pan and watered down apple juice. No milk. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.

The first room wasn’t clean at all. Shaved hair was on the sink and nats all around the dirty toilet. Housekeeping didn’t even try.
We were moved to a second room, which was better; at least someone tried.
The rooms overall need a deep clean.
I definitely won’t come here again.
The front desk lady and the guy are so nice and helpful. Otherwise this place would be one star.

There was mildew/mold on our tub. The pullout couch mattress was covered in plastic. There was a STRONG smell of someone smoking marijuana our first night—I had to put a towel by the door to block out the smell. The smell lingered the entire weekend. Check-in was slow and confusing. Breakfast was not good. We will not be staying here again.

3 times in recent weeks my room has noisy refrigerator. Cooling & heating units and toilets run off and on all night. Last night was worst yet..tub was disgusting, shower fixture was broken and unsafe and found 2 nlack bugs crawling on wa in bathroom. Never again will I stay at this hotel

The room was dirty. Pizza sauce was on the carpet. Not enough towels in the room. No towels by the pool for 3 days. The breakfast was horrible. Definitely WILL NOT stay at this hotel again

Walked into room and room smelled musty. Floor was WET by the ac unit, second room i had, the shower curtain was loose and fell down. Tub in bathroom had worn out fixtures and tub looked dirty. Took forever to check in, idk if its a comfort inn thing or what, cause the last time i stayed at a different, seemed like it took forever to check in, not just a long line, but the hole process, on top of having a new clerk that didnt seem to know what he was doing, lengthened the check in process. I stayed here based on the good reviews. I stay at a lot of hotels for work, and this one was subpar for the price.

Our bathroom was dirty and so was the carpeting in our room. There was trash under the bed when we got there. The biscuits at breakfast were hard. It was not a pleasant experience staying there.

The doors in the restroom of my hotel room looked like it had never been wiped down. The shower was yellow tinted. The rack that you can place a bar of soap on was dirty. I got a room that sleeps two and it was only one wash cloth in the room. Our room did not get cleaned when we requested it. Also the phone in the room doesn’t work. I honestly would only stay here again if it was my last resort. Definitely not worth the price.

Bathroom wouldn’t flush. Floor in room was soft in certain spots. Very concerning. Breakfast was disgusting. Juice machine was out of order. So no juice. No butter or syrup for waffles. Would not stay or recommend it.

This hotel didn't just meet my expectations, it exceeded them. Check in was super easy and the staff was friendly. The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel from what I noticed. The pool room was nice and warm which helped with the chilly pool water. I loved that they had a water cooler with bottled water for guests! All of the towles were gone so the staff brought us some bath towels..warm and fresh from the dryer! The breakfast was the norm...biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, sausage, toast, bagles, hard boiled eggs, cereal, milk, juice & coffee. My only complaint is the cost of the drinks...3 bucks for a 16.9oz bottle of soda seems quite steep. Really no other option if you want a sofa since the dont have vending machines and if the do, I sure missed them! The bed was super soft and the sheets were soft as flowers. I didnt want to leave the bed. Im tellin ya...room 220 was Heaven! Will surely be back!

Horrible Stay!!!
We booked to have a swim party. As we were checking in they told they had closed the pool on a Saturday to add chemicals. We were treated very rudely by the foreign staff. We eventually left and went to another hotel.

DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 220. IT IS OVER THE POOL AND COMPRESSOR. ROOM SHAKES
AND COMPRESSOR KEEPS YOU AWAKE. That said, 2nd night in another room was excellent. Very clean Comfort Inn. Parking for Veterans is appreciated. Room was nice and quiet.

I stayed on the first floor, which I don't normally like as it tends to be louder with foot traffic. At one point I looked out to see an employee playing music full blast on his phone.
But, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hitband the pressure was good. My friend on the third floor didn't enjoy her shower as much.
Breakfast also left something to be desired.

The king size room was more than satisfactory and very clean.
The Wi-Fi or the lack of needs to be upgraded!! My husband and I could not do our work on our laptops due to Wi-Fi being slow and Wi-Fi being down. It makes it hard to be traveling for work and not able to have access to the internet.

Building, grounds, room were all in excellent shape. Was not able to get the WiFi connection all the way. I was able to get a connection but it was not fully established until I logged in/used a password. I had neither. I asked the desk clerk about this and he could only tell me tell me the WiFi was free.

Beware on Saturday mornings!
Check-in Friday was easy. Room was clean and comfortable. Saturday morning I was accosted in parking, lot but managed to evade, a male and female demanding money. I stayed another night exactly one week later, and this time the thugs we're lying in wait next to my car. I asked for an escort to my vehicle and have notified appropriate authorities. This parking lot is a hunting ground on Saturday mornings!!

Over all we liked comfort inn very much. They could work on a couple areas like, the window in our room has been leaking, can see hole in top with paint chips all over sill. Window hadn't been washed in awhile. There were even cobwebs on it. You could see cobwebs in stair well around the lights. Person preparing breakfast should maybe know how many people are staying and be better prepared for large crowds coming in at one time. Front desk staff were very friendly and always smiling.

There was an odor in the room so I sprayed it with Lysol checked the bed and laid down and when I woke up I checked the room and I could not believe the things that were wrong with the room the tub had rust spots and was not clean so I cleaned it there by in n were spots all over the carpet in the room and there was also a mini fridge that needed a good cleaning and at about 5am I got up to check on my daughter noic

Not worth your money!
My stay at this property was very disappointing and I won't stay here again. Check-in was lengthy, needing to copy my ID and then held $250 on credit card for incidentals. This is high for a property of this type. When I went to my room, it looked great, but was less than clean. Pubic hair on toilet and hairs on bathroom floor. Yuck! Staff was not friendly and customer service was not a priority. Manager was less than professional and is better suited for a truck stop. Front desk staff not available when needed -- probably out smoking or talking on cell phone as I witnessed. Very disappointed! Spend more money and go elsewhere. I went to Holiday Inn next door and the experience was totally different.

Staff were friendly. Check in was some what questionable. I’ve never had my driver license copied. With security breeches I’m not sure I want my driver license copied and just lying around hotel staff. The internet was virtually non existent. I had to use my phone as a hot spot. Also the water pressure was very low noticed during shower and while flushing the toilet.

Terrible business practices
Wifi was terrible, but that's not the worst.
When I checked in there was a notice that the water would be shut off from 10-2 the next day. I got up at 930 to shower but the water was already off. So, I had to go to an interview having not showered and only sort of brushed my teeth. I checked out a day early and didn't get a refund on the second night.

Staff were rude! Told us they didn’t have a room for us because they didn’t have towel nor enough staff to clean the rooms. Said 2nd and 3rd shift didn’t do there job. Told us we needed to call Expedia to see about getting our money back! The lady from Expedia was excellent! It took a while but she was able to get us in a nearby hotel at no additional charge to us. We were told by Comfort Inn staff since we booked through a 3rd party they couldn’t accommodate us. This also happened to my sister who also had reservations there. Another sister had checked in the day before and said the accommodations weren’t that great!

I had arrived to check in. The front desk clerk. Was helping a customer by the time he got to me. He told me there was an issue with the room they had for me. A plumbing problem, while pointing to the side of the hotel where my room was supposed to have been. However, he had just gave a customer a room on that side. Continued to tell me the plumbing was effecting that whole side of the hotel.

First off, I have been using Comfort inns in KY, FL, IL multiple times because it has always been a positive experience but not so the past 2 times in IL. 1. I stood at the front desk saying "Hello" for 5 mins waiting to check in. A young man came from the side of the hotel with the pool and didn't notice we were standing there because he was on his phone. He went out to the patio with his phone and was having a cigarette. I didn't think he was an employee but, thought he might have seen one so I went out to the patio and asked if he had seen an employee and that is when I found out that, he was to be working the front desk. 2. the first elevator had the cover on the floor #3 button missing so to push it, you had to stick your finger into the opening 3. Tub no plug to take a bath and only 1 soap 4. the continental warm breakfast consisted of waffles and the person filling the waffle batter dispenser was trying to fill it with frozen batter, they did not bring out the syrup we had to find it ourselves. There were 4 boxes of cereal /and all of the juice options had a note taped to them "do not use" no fruit out either. I was so very disappointed at this stay. The room should have been alot less because they offered alot less. I have a picture of the breakfast area when we were there there at 7 am Sunday morning. The breakfast area pictures on your website need to be changed to reflect what you do have which is waffles. We had to go buy breakfast elsewhere. Very disappointing!

The bed was comfortable. The room: Handles on closet broken, safe unusable, no TV channel list. Swimming pool was a soupy mess. Breakfast was horrible. Employees not provided with information on surrounding areas to answer ANY questions. Afternoon counter person barely spoke English, unknowledgeable and was unhelpful to all questions. We will avoid this location next time we stay in this town.

I've stayed here 3 times,either by myself or with my husband.Our daughter attended Millikin and played volleyball & throughout 4 years we've stayed all over Forsyth and Decatur.This experience last weekend was by far the worst.The check-in service took 30 minutes+.There were problems with clean rooms, problems with the check-in attendant and a lot of unhappy people.One couple in particular from Kentucky wanted a refund as they were given 3 different rooms that were dirty or not cared for.That's ridiculous.They were in line in front of me, and were told by the attendant that there was no manager on duty, that they would not be able to get a refund right away and that all he could do is message the manager and that they might not response for a while.How does a hotel not have a manager on duty, especially during a busy weekend like graduation?The attendant also told the guests that "I have better things to do" than take care of their refund right then and there and that "I have other things to take care of and do right now." That is completely not acceptable.I felt bad for the couple.I would have went off, but the young man continued to take the high road.When checking in, the host had to physically go to rooms to be sure they were clean.Just overall a horrible experience. Breakfast not supplied in full during the hours promised. Our room was decent, but not great.Third floor smelled like smoke.First floor beeping sound near check-in was awful.Glad we won't be returning.

covers had dry blood on them. worker had attitude when i said something. bathroom wasnt clean. they moved us to a new room but about 1130pm some kids were playing on our door and front desk did nothing. just a horrible experience especially when you have an emergency and need to stay somewhere. definitely won’t be my first choice again.

Maintenance seemed uneven. One elevator wasn't wrorking when I arrived and "not workinmg" sign stayed on elevator door for next 3 days. Indoor pool was not working and closed. 4 or 5 items in breakfast room had "out of order, do not use" signs on them. Elevator had Operating permit displayed that wa six months past expiration date. Overall, staff didn't seem to care.

The room was clean, but smelled REALLY musty. We should have probably asked for another room but didn't. One of the reasons we stayed there was the pictures of the breakfast room, which showed covered silver serving containers so we assumed there would be a decent breakfast, but the best thing there was a breakfast sandwich we could heat up on the microwave. Pool was not open.

Dirty, No Towels, left a day early.
We were put in a room that was not cleaned. They moved us the next morning. The 1st room was NOT cleaned the bed was unmade. The soaps were used and only 2 towels. The carpet and floors were very dirty and stained. Room 317. When talking to staff they were very apologetic. There is no breakfast due to staff shortage. There were no bath towels. They gave us extra hand towels to shower with. The pool was not working. Basically not an ideal stay. We left a day early.

Cleaning was terrible.
I live in I diana but I was there for a funeral. I had no problems checking in. The staff was nice. It wasn't until that night I got back and saw my room was never cleaned. The garbage was still there along with used linen. I spoje to the manager and was told due to Covid, you have to request your room to be clean. Are you serious. Covid should be more of a reason for cleaning and why wasn't I informed of this when I checked in. I was already upset for the loss of my grandfather and this didn't help.

Amenities that were advertised were not or partially provided. Hot breakfast was not provided every day. The pool was not operational and had not been for years. Our microwave needed repairs. There was a French fry under an ottoman when we arrived. I feel like there should be a partial refund!

Good value, clean quiet stay.
Room was clean and no unusual smells. Our stay was right after a ice and snow storm. The parking lot had been plowed but had to be careful of the ice. Sidewalk was clear and salted. The swimming pool was still out of service but I was not there to swim. I only did coffee in the morning which was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. The price and experience is worthy of a repeat visit in the future. There are plenty of places close by for dining in my opinion.

We were a little disappointed in the cost because it was more then what I had booked at. Then we find out the pool is still down because of the pump (a year now), but what was upsetting was the in the morning my son moved the coffee pot and a roach crawled out from under it and when the manager finally called me back 5 days later it was sorry for the trouble but too bad. And an employee had told me on that morning that they had the bug man in twice before to spray the room we had been in.

The hotel was empty which we felt was to our advantage. I asked if a kingside bed was available, they said yes, I asked if I could have one, they said no, as Orbitz didn’t allow the change.
When called prior to booking, I asked about their breakfast.
I was informed their standard continental breakfast was fruit, cereal, bread for toast, hot tea, waffles, yogurt, and breakfast sandwiches.
There was no bread, no fruit, no cereal, no tea, no yogurt, no breakfast sandwiches.
However we were informed at the desk there were takeaway breakfasts bags which contained a breakfast sandwich, fruit, and a drink.
We took advantage of this, and found one single granola bar. The same sold in stores is double, one muffin, and one water.
When booking there was a great deal of competition from other hotels that offered a good variety including omelets.
Of each item that existed on the counter there was a quantity of one, or two. I have photos.
There were signs on the liquid( milk) machines saying not to use.
Very disappointed I asked at the front desk the reason for this. They stated, as there were so few guests they had not bought any of these food items from Walmart.
We have to return to this location soon again, should we expect the same outcome. Can we rely on Orbitz, as I have for many years.
We didn’t want to leave the hotel as it was 13’ outside, so we made sure we were down for breakfast nice, and early.

My room was very inviting clean did not have to turn on the heat. The temperature in the room was perfect. I slept great, I never sleep in, I’m always up at 5:30 am. I woke up at 7am. The hotel was so quiet even in the am. I always have a great stay at this Comfort Inn.
