New Year’s Eve gone bad :(
NYE horrible! The entertainment in the lobby was a young lady with a guitar and a mic. In addition all night long all we heard were sirens. At $509 /night . I expected a better vibe and a restful sleep.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Can’t beat Michigan avenue in the heart of all the shopping and restaurants. Museums nearby, too. We had a suite and the room was so spacious, clean, and modern. Large bathroom with a large shower… and dispensers with real shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (not that cheap watered down stuff at most hotels). Service was excellent throughout, and we were able to check in 2 hours early! Valet parking was super expensive as always but service was fast. Overall, great price for a lovely suite on Michigan avenue with large windows for an awesome street view (and tiny view of the lake). Would absolutely stay here again.

The staff was vary rude and not talkative and not welcoming, there was only two of the men that were very helpful, I work for other hotels and that would not be acceptable at the hotels I work for, we also had one night where ac didn’t work and we had to open the door to let cold air in

Great lobby, Rooms could use a facelift
Lobby area nice. Friendly staff. Room was getting outdated. Carpets dirty and worn. Couch was wore out. Bathroom caulk patches everywhere with dirty grout lines. Rooms need some TLC.

First time visit and will definitely be back. Great view of Michigan Ave and the hotel is middle of it all. Nice bar, good food in the restaurant, and lots of other options just outside the hotel.

Hotel ran out of water and the rooms were extremely small as well as the bathrooms. The beds were uncomfortable, but pillows were good. That’s about it for this place… I won’t stay again.

It was right where the Chicago Marathon passed by so our grandkids saw their dad in action in Mile Marker 1 and Mile Marker 12. It’s also very close to shopping and so many restaurants.

Don't stay here for Chicago Marathon
Check-in time was at 4:43 when it was supposed to be at 3, which would have been tolerable, but we reserved a double queen-sized bed and got 1 king sized for 2 friends. One of them had to sleep on the couch the night before running the Chicago marathon.

This location needs some customer service training
Check-in was okay like any other hotel. They failed to mention the single king I requested/reserved however were not available and just checked me in. I didn't realize this until I walked into my room and saw two tiny beds that were even lower to the ground than a normal bed. I called down to the desk and was informed that the room I had requested/reserved was not guaranteed and they gave me what they had (even though I paid for a king-size bed when I made my reservation). The rep on the phone stated it was not guaranteed and there were no other rooms or kings available. I asked for even a queen and stated these beds looked like they were barely twins, and she stated they were full-size beds and what I was in was all they had and to enjoy my stay. She was literally blunt and to the point about it and hung up the phone. Didn't offer to change my rate from reserving and paying for a king to having to sleep in a full-size bed that was literally a platform bed with a subpar mattress that was something you would find on a futon. The room was clean, but there was a lot of noise in the hallways until just past midnight and there was no point in calling about it after my first encounter with guest services that apparently didn't care what my stay was going to be like. There was also a lot of noise coming up off Michigan Ave which I realize the hotel has no control over. Needless to say, I did not sleep well on the bed and was ever so glad to leave in the morning.

My friends and I truly enjoyed our stay here. It’s extremely close to shopping food and entertainment. The only thing I didn’t realize but worked out in the end is the fact you’re charged a $25 daily credit that can be used towards things such as room service. So we chose to use the credit to get water daily so it worked out in the end. Nonetheless I’d suggest this place and stay here again

I was told at check in that there is a $160 fully refundable deposit fee that I needed to pay (I was completely unaware of this when I booked my stay here). I only had cash available at the time and I was told from the Caucasian guy wearing glasses that checked me in around 10pm & a Hispanic female manager that at the time of my checkout, I would be refunded the $160 back in cash that I paid to them. Around midnight right before my checkout, I called the front desk and spoke with the African American masculine presenting female manager in the picture by the name of Sukyra (I believe I’m saying her name correctly) and she confirmed via telephone that I would absolutely be refunded the $160 deposit in cash at checkout & that it would not take long to do so. I entered the lobby around 4:20am to checkout and Sukyra rudely informed me that I was not going to be able to get my deposit back in cash because she, as the manager, did not have her key access to her bank and there was no one else that was there to access any money at the time. I asked her what was the difference from her telling me at midnight when I called the front desk from my room, that I was going to get my $160 back in cash versus her now telling me that I am NOT able to get my money back, and she failed to answer my question! She did not apologize, but instead she insisted for me to blame her and to be mad at her because she forgot to bring her keys for her bank (mind you she had already told me at midnight that I

Confusing, but overall nice
Pull out couch bed was highly uncomfortable. A rooftop terrace was advertized online, however there was no access. When I asked security, i was told that it was for private events, but the front desk said it should be open and access was in the 9th floor, but access was not found. Also, found the lobby bar very offputting as menu was only accessible online/with QR code. Felt very impersonal and even though we were told table service was available, no one came to take our order. Website said Harvest was open for dinner, but closed at 2pm?
Overall, staff was wonderful, room was very clean. Would stay again no questions asked.

The room being close the elevator was not the best. You can easily hear the elevator going up and down while we were in our room. This was a hassle when we were trying to sleep. When I complained to the front desk when checking out I just received I am sorry. I felt like it was not a big deal to her.

This was a nice hotel overall. The location was good. The city panoramas from the windows were mind blowing. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The elevator stood out as fast and smooth. There were several downsides as well. The room decorations were minimalist and plain. The bathroom does not have a fan which was a problem. The lobby has very little to do. They have no restaurant, just a cafe where you order at the bar and take your food wherever. And this particularly important because they forcibly charge you a $20 "destination fee". But they give you $20 credit to spend in the hotel. But there is very little to spend it on. That "destination" charge is a complete ripoff that appears to be designed just to make you spend some money in the hotel. It was a little low class. But the overall experience was okay to good and I would absolutely stay there again.

Staff generally quick to respond to needs; patient and worked through billing issues with us (although the bill at checkout for each night wasn't always transparent and I caught two mistakes -- both favoring Marriott and giving Marriott more money; rarely, is it the other way around, mmmm, wondering how that always seems to work). Printed bills for each night not clear, not written in "plain English." Don't like the destination fee; would rather Marriott just not charge us. Who wants to go to Chicago and the have to eat everyday in your hotel; would rather keep the money and spend it around Mag Mile shopping area).

The room had a great city view. The room was nice but the walls are too thin and could hear everything from the next room. The central ac and heating was not to standard. The temperature outside was 45’ and the room was getting warm 75’. I wanted to turn a/c on and it would not come on. I also heard someone in the elevator complain how warm the room got and they could not turn on a/c

Overall the property was fine. In my room it could have used another paint job, but honestly that me being nit-picky. I would stay again at this hotel. Staff was friendly. My only con is I did have one night when i asked for extra tissue and they never came to bring it, i had to wait until the next day when cleaning staff arrived to get a roll.

Great location to shopping and the Navy Pier. Unfortunately the building is older and individual rooms can’t control heating and cooling on their own. On hotter days and colder nights this leads to very warm sleeping conditions.

The hotel es really crowded in the lobby to check inn parole at check inn were not so helpful they offered me a room that was available behind the elevators and it’s super noisy 24/7 the told me that was the only room available or I had to wait some hours for another room but since I accept the room they were no changes allowed. They told me noice was not a issue to worry I trusted them and took a big surprise. The girl at check out was amazing different than checking inn.

She greeted us with a smile everyday, answered any questions we had not only about the menu but other services available. What an outstanding employee. Nice hotel and great location, but our room wasn't very clean. The walls need to be cleaned better. IN the bathroom I am not sure if it was chocolate on the wall or poop. I should not have to clean walls and other areas during my stay. It was SUPER hot in our room. They said they couldn't put on the air due to the weather in the process of changing. I have never stayed at a hotel that I do not have access to both heater or cooling. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff were nice and helpful, but the cleanign and air conditiong needs to be better.

We stayed at the Marriott for our 25th wedding anniversary. Paula at check in was very very helpful and pleasant. Each person we came across was very pleasant and helpful. The staff in the hotel is very accommodating and always greeted us with a smile. I would recommend, the newly renovated Marriott to all my friends and family.
