It's proximity to Mass Mutual Center and MGM Grand was great. There's not enough staff at this Marriott. There was no hair dryer in the room and it took 1/2 hour to get it to me. Room Service took so long we had to leave and met the server in the hallway with the food. Toilet paper holder was broken, M&Ms on floor near the bed, empty Kleenex box, and when housekeeping came in our second morning, the top sheet was crumpled at the foot of the bed and I had to re-make it. Even the front desk could not get through to housekeeping for us - they weren't picking up the phone due to lack of staff.

The room was bigger than we expected. There were lots of charging ports. The only bad thing was some mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Other than that the room was very clean. After our concert, we went to the bar and waited for 20-25 minutes. No one waited on us, so we left and went back to our room.

We enjoyed the location, close to shops and arena. The property has been updated in the past few years, rooms were clean and modern, parking was easy to get in and out, Hitel restaurant and bar were very well staffed and the food was great. We had a few in our party who had food allergies and the staff was knowledgeable and happy to help.

The Marriott caters to huge groups of kids at competitions. The result is noise and a mess. I walked literally across the street to the Sherston for peace and quiet in the restaurants bar dinner and breakfast. Yes the kids are fun and I played with a couple in the pool. But the (fast) elevators were slow because everyone was going intrafloor, there was a barrage of noise in the lobby, and the pool was cloudy andnless than clear or clean

Pleasant overall experience
The hotel and room were very nice, clean and comfortable. When we checked in, we paid for on-site parking but did not receive any ticket to get out, so when we left we had to pay another $28 as there were people behind us as we exited the garage and the gate was closed. When we checked in we had to pay for parking onsite, so we got double charged which I have to look into. The onsite restaurant was very good but limited service. We had a great time and were not in a hurry so it didn't bother our party but others were agitated. In the morning when we met for breakfast, there seemed to be only one effective young woman trying to take care of the entire room. Perhaps someone called out and she got stuck handling everyone. But after 20 minutes waiting on coffee, we noted people just getting up and going to where the staff was dropping off the coffee pots and taking them to their own tables. We figured she was challenged as someone didn't show when some staff from the kitchen came out to help her and was getting coffee and cleaning tables. Despite these challenges, they were all very polite and pleasant. Overall we were very satisfied and will visit again. We are college friends meeting up after 35 years, so it was more about our reunion than being in a rush for service. The double charge was annoying and the person who checked us in failed to give us what we needed, but I will address that directly. It was an apparent oversight, but not in my mind intentional.

The room full of feathers. I regret not communicating with the receptionist. When I did complain with them during checking out. They stated next time I should let them know immediately. There would have switch my room. Now I know for next time. They deduct the parking fee from my bill. That’s all they could do. The room was not clean at all. The towels were not properly washed. I felt like they fold back the old towels.

Enjoyable stay
The hotel is conveniently located, front desk staff very pleasant. The main issue was that there was no soap for the bathroom sink. When I called down, they said the entire hotel was out of soap, which was really weird. We had to step into the shower to get shower gel every time we wanted to wash our hands at the sink.

Very nice stay!
My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Marriot in Springfield. I will get this out of the way quickly, but the parking situation was confusing and frustrating. If you plan on booking here, just pull up to the front first and ask for directions on parking. There's no signage until you're inside the lot, and the lot gates also didn't work so it was free for us. There is maybe 1 elevator total, and no stairs from what we could find. We looked kind of everywhere and ended up just walking back down all the ramps. I believe this lot is technically owned by the mall next door, but please be aware it's a confusing mess to park here. It's only $20 a day usually though, so worth it in my opinion. Otherwise, the hotel was really really nice, and the downstairs bar was so nice! The bartenders were really friendly too. The room itself was great (outside of the lack of hand soap which was a hotel-wide issue). It was a bit noisy due to the city traffic, but that's sort of expected. Overall it was a nice stay, no complications other than the parking.

The stores and the area were dirty and closed the surrounding downtown area very dirty and trashy looking. I enjoyed my stay. The hotel and the property surrounding it was nice. I did not received the breakfast i paid for in advance and there was no staff available all weekend I waited over three hours for housekeeping services

Nive place but service could improve.
We switched from the Sheraton to the Marriott after it was refurbished. Everything is nicely updated except for poor lighting in the room. Unfortunately the service left much to be desired. For example, the room was not cleaned by 330 pm and when requested the front desk staff were belligerent and uncooperative.

Beautiful hotel, but alarm went off every hour
The room was so clean and the staff helped me with issues I had with Hotels.com. But our phone went off every hour during the night. When I reported it to the front desk, they replied they knew about it as the guests the night before reported it as well. I feel if they could not fix it, they should have put us in another room. My daughter and I literally got no sleep with the phone going off every hour.

Walking distance to most Springfield attractions!
The facility is literally in the center of town, within walking distance of the main attractions and restaurants. Hassle free parking is about $20 at the hotel, which is probably your best option during the week. But if you go on a weekend, street parking is free! The Monarch Lounge is a home-run, and all the staff seem to be quite happy. It was a very enjoyable stay overall, for sure!

Parking is limited to 6'4" couldn't park my pickup. Had to park far from hotel. Cut my arm bad on ultra sharp steel soap dish in shower. Loud bassy dance music at night nearby. I will never stay here again. Nor will my coworkers.

Ouch!
My checking went well and the room was clean.The next morning the real fun began.They failed to tell me the hotel was undergoing a major renovation.About 7:45 am ,the noise began,hammering,drilling and finally jack hammering.I recommend staying away until after the renovation is completed unless you are leaving before the loud construction begins!

Upon arrival we are greeted by a makeshift reception area that was closed in with one person at a small desk. We exchange greetings. I say "how are you", she replys "not good anymore"...hmmm, I brushed that off. Get to the room...a terrible smell. The AC mechanicals are exposed at the ceiling when you enter the room. The carpet is stained upon entry. Bathroom, oddly small with an old tub. If you were on the toilet, the door can not be opened. Get to the main part of the room, 1 step. Furniture is old and in poor condition. Tiny TV. Beds are furnished with 2 toddler pillows. Curtains are from 1972. Two, what seemed to be fruit fly's flew in front of me. We left, and went to the Marriott across the street. The hotel I thought I had booked.

There was a lot of construction still going on. Nowhere did anyone alert the guests to this. It was supposed to start at 8 pm, but began as early as 7:10. The one ice machine was out two of the three days I stayed there. One of the desk clerks barely spoke English. (She was a nice person, otherwise, I must say.) There was no business center. Put simply, they should close down until they finish the construction.

Dirty and old place in higher price as if it’s one of the new hotels, no microwave, no mini fridge no coffee machine. Ripped/heavy blanket with torn mattress with visible springs and all. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in my life. They said No king beds were available but there were only 7 cars at the parking garage.

Great location in downtown Springfield. Near the casino and Mass Mutual center. Easy and free parking. Beds are a bit hard and only one pillow per person was tough. We had to.ask for more. Also we heard alot of noise in the hallway from late night people coming in until about 3am. No free coffee in lobby just ice water. After a cold night walk back from a hockey game coffee would have been appreciated.

Parking garage was clean and we'll lighted. Breakfast was fine but other offering such as fruit cereals and a third entree would be nice. Room size was surprising and the beds were very comfortable. Very quiet and room temperature easily adjusted. During your upgrade think about larger TV screen. A 55" would enhance the menu. Marriott has the opportunity during their upgrade to offer a FIRST CLASS restaurant.

We got in late around 2am and when we did, first thing was there was only 1 towel and wash cloth in the room, no biggy. But we went to lay down and watch tv and there was no remote I called the front desk and the girl ask me if I looked,????? And than she said I will call you back if we hve any?? 20 min later I had to call them back, and the answer I got was we don’t have any.....so all your rooms and empty rooms have nooooo remotes in them.....

I have stayed here before and booked my room here due to the amenities. I wa traveling for my wedding anniversary and had my 4 month old grandson with me. We arrived to no pool, no hot tub, no sports bar down stairs, restaurant closed for all but breakfast in the middle of the city. We had to walk iver to the Sheraton next door to try to eat and our orders were not right bith times. Parking garage access was awful, we couldnt get out, keys didnt work, and breakfast was "free" but cold, rubbery and tasted awful. We left without it Sunday. We were so disappointed. False advertising, should be ashamed to take peoples hard earned money knowing the issues and not relaying what was not available before people book. I am tuening the hotel into the better business bureau....we are nit fussy people at all, but this ruined our trip we had been looking forward to. DO NOT STAY HERE! We will never be back, even after renovating is done.

So upon check-in I was notified that there was no more king beds and that all they had was a few rooms with double full sized bed the problem was I booked a room for a king size bed and me and my wife came from Fairfield ct so we had to scramble to look for another hotel and thank god the Sheraton was right across the street from this hotel. So I will rate this spot a 1 due to the fact lack of communication and very unprofessional.

Very disappointed, room was dirty, bathroom and bed sheets had stain, very outdated, definitely not the one in the pics. No cameras in the hallways, I had to tell the front desk there was a fight in the hallway so they can go check. Police was blocking the entrance as a man was outside with a knife. Will never used Expedia for hotel reservations. They didn’t resolved my issue when I called to complaint about it. Left the hotel at 2am go another one as I didn’t feel secured

We were put into a handicap accessible room, which was huge with only one bedside table. The furniture is old and outdated, and there was no microwave in the room to reheat our food; the view of the roof didn't ease comfort. Even so, the room was okay for the price and an overnight stay.

Nothing special about this hotel, though we do appreciate the cleanliness of the facility, bathroom and room, and the comfort of the mattress. For the price, one expects a bit more, like free coffee. Parking was $17 extra: okay whatever but is that really necessary? The poster in the hallway (12th floor) promoted their coffee roast and flavor and noted on the bottom, “in the lobby.” Well, not true. When I asked, I was told to go into the restaurant. A friendly, polite waitress gave me two cups of hot, good coffee and I was charged for them. When I expressed surprise, she explained that the hotel charges for coffee because the coffee maker in the room allows guests to make coffee in their rooms. Again—okay, yes. But it’s one thing for a budget hotel To do that, and another thing for a higher priced place to say that their free coffee is a “cafe delight” packet to make in the room and dress with powdered creamer. Who wants that? I’m certainly not blaming the waitress, who was just doing her job. But basically this is a clean hotel that nickel-and-dimes you whole also charging $170 plus per night. Go here on business, since that’s obviously the market they want. They aren’t interested in families or couples visiting college children at the many colleges in the area. Also, housekeeping should remove the soap and shampoo from The previous guest.

Hotel is ok. Was expecting a more updated room. Furniture was old and worn. Bed was very comfortable. Not a bad room just the value for the money was not there. Room keys never worked propely and had to keep getting new ones. You had to pay for parking as well. Which i thought should have been included in the room fee. Check out is at noon and at 10:00am housekeeping was pounding on the door to turn the room over. We will stay elesewhere in the future.

Restaurant on premises, walking distance to many tourists locations. Shower was great. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure

It’s older hotel. My room is classy but very average. It’s in good area. It’s so quiet Stuff it’s very friendly and helpful. Room it’s clean

Check in was slow, I was only customer at counter. My girl checking me in was pleasant. Two other girls behind desk appeared to be doing nothing while my person was answering calls etc.

Liked: room clean bed comfortanle extra pillows Disliked: noisy all night long from highway hvac noisy tiniest bathroom ever comforter all bunched up inside no morning amenities like a cup of coffee For the money, I won't stay there again.
