This was our second stay at The Kahala. The hotel is calming and serene. Fabulous service and old-world charm. The beach and pool area are beautiful, and staff are always friendly and accommodating. Perhaps there could be an increase in availability at food at night especially given the hotels distance from the main strip. Of course, the gorgeous dolphins are lovely and a treat!

Family trip
The hotel is showing its age especially in the bathroom tiles. The dolphins are incredible to see, it is sad they are confined too such a small area.

Beautiful property, great beach and warm heated pool, dolphins fun to watch and all staff friendly and exceptional service, Stephanie Oona, in pool cafe area was especially helpful. She gave my autistic son her can of diet coke for our room fridge afterI asked her if there was any convenience store at hotel to buy soda or other beverages (no there is not--very inconvenient and my one complaint.)

We love everything about The Kahala. It’s our #1 favorite place to vacation and meets all our needs. It is luxurious and wonderful and relaxing and beautiful and just the very best. We love it so much we’re spending next Christmas there! Can’t wait!!!!

The food at this restaurant is terrible by and large, and extremely expensive. The buffets are not refreshed often enough, meaning the food is cold and congealed. Unfortunately, there are no restuarants off property that accessible without a van ride or Uber into Waikiki, about 15 minutes.

As usual the service was great, especially the cleaning staff. The rooms had some wear, but was very clean. This hotel is great for couples and groups of adults. I wouldn’t recommend this resort for visitors with children.

It is incredibly beautiful. The staff are genuine and very kind. Location is absolutlely stunning. Rooms are outstanding, well equipped, spotless, large, and lovely. Reccomend so highly!

Excellent 5 star property. Nice and quiet vs. Waikiki beach hotels. Only suggestion is to give guests a special rate to play golf next door for less than $400 a round per person.

We booked the Mountain View and got upgraded to a walk out balcony Mountain View room. The bed was so comfortable we had a great sleep each night.
No extra result fee was a bonus. If you can afford it definitely stay at this hotel.
Getting to see the dolphins and hear their stories was pretty amazing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Nespresso coffee machine in the room with refills of pods every day as well as water bottles, the hotel also has water bottle refill stations.
Even though it is some distance away from a lot of things the hotel has many restaurants and 24 hour room service, there is a whole foods and a market not too far away at all. It was nice to be away from the chaos and being right on the water was amazing.
Will definitely stay at this place again.

This place is beautiful, quiet, no resort fee and staff is super friendly. I gave it a four star bc it is away from everything. Food is also is really expensive. We rented a car so we ended up leaving almost every night for dinner. The pool is very small but love the semi private beach area. If you are looking for a resort feel and a place away from everything, this is it. 💛

Let's start with the room. Unfortunately, it was far from what we expected. The room was dated and appeared to be in need of some serious renovations. The worn-down carpets and the presence of mold in the bathroom were major turn-offs. Moreover, the toilet was less than satisfactory since it had an issue with its plumbing, which was quite surprising for a hotel of this caliber.
Our experience with room service didn't fare much better. The food we ordered was not only tasteless but also arrived cold, which was unexpected for a resort of this reputation. It felt like the quality was comparable to that of a dive bar, which was a letdown considering the food' cost.
On a more positive note, we did enjoy our dining experience at the Plumeria restaurant. The food there was excellent, and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the dolphin enclosure, which provided a unique and memorable experience. Additionally, the resort's access to a calm shoreline was a major plus, especially for families with young children.
In terms of the staff, we found them to be very kind and accommodating. However, when I raised my concerns upon checking out and expressed my disappointment with the room quality, I received a rather monotone apology with no effort made to address or rectify the issues. It would have been appreciated if they had made some effort to provide compensation to make up for the subpar accommodations. (P.S. We're undercover reviewers)

Fantastic! The team made us feel welcome, friendly, helpful, and polite. Our rooms were kept immaculately clean. It was perfect after a tiring flight and a whole day's activity. We would come back. I highly recommend it to couples and families. Once again, thank you for taking care of us during our stay. It is indeed one of our favorite memories in Hawaii!

Beautiful hotel and quiet location, restaurants were all amazing and a special mention to Les at verandah and Hannah at arrancino,, from the moment you walk in and take in the ambience and smell is beautiful.
Inky disappointing thing was carpet in our room was rather dirty and there is not enough shade around pool or beach areas, could not use umbrellas for days due to wind and ended up getting burnt which was disappointing.

今回はドルフィンクエストに参加したかったので、カハラホテルを予約しました。2週間のアメリカ旅行で4軒のホテルに宿泊しましたがカハラホテルが一番掃除が行き届いており清潔でした。
お部屋には洗面台が2つありますが、一方のコンセントは壊れていて使えませんでした。またシーツは２日に1回交換と書いてありましたが、3日めも変えてありませんでした。あと、高級ホテルとは思えないような接客態度のスタッフもいました。こちらのホテルだけではありませんが、アメリカのホテルのサービス、ホスピタリティーともに、東南アジアの高級ホテルには及ばないなという実感です。
こちらのホテルで1番満足だったのはドルフィンクエストです。スタッフもインストラクターもゲストを楽しませようという気持ちに溢れていて、とてもいい経験ができました。

They treated us like royalty. Private, beautiful, wish we could have stayed longer. The way the resort is set up its as though the beach is private, even though all public beaches in Hawaii are public. All of the staff knew my name, even those I hadn't talked to. All of the staff was great. The manager of Hoku's was the best.

First of all, I booked a really excellent room, and then I was upgraded to the presidential suite for all of our ninths day and even extended
I did your myself, and I was able to recover quite nicely there with the wonderful staff, housekeeping, and room service, keeping me busy and full of everything I needed to recover. I did not leave the room for days, but I will be back.

Well , started with a bad room location, Cindy at front desk helped us to get a better location and better view. Two days before leaving they notified us that the room above us is leaking so they moved us again to a Suite for the compromise that we are making. They also offered us complimentary breakfast and valet. That was very nice of them. The noise was very bad unfortunately because of the filming of a movie, the restaurants were OK extremely expensive, and the only nice restaurant was an Italian restaurant. All of the servers and all the restaurants,All servers were very nice ,Brad at Palmura was one of our favorite server. We have seen this island and this hotel. We will not have to go back, but I will recommend it to my friends.

I've been going to this hotel for over 20 years. Sadly, it needs a bit of updating now. feels like the owner are creaming every $ out of this property without investing in, for ex: refreshing pool equipment, or the pool itself. I was a bit dumbfounded by the service as well after getting food poisoned from the pool grill $26 burger. not even a sorry!

The Kahala Resort was amazing! My husband and I went for his birthday and our Babymoon. We stayed in a beachfront lanai where we walked right of our rooms onto the beach. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They even surprised us with some special treats like chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in our room. The Spa was also wonderful and luxurious and I highly recommend taking advantage of the spa of you go. The location was also perfect because it is in a quiete high end residential area away from any crowds or noise. This was by far the best vacation we’ve had since our honeymoon it did not disappoint and Hawaii is just beautiful!

I loved that I felt safe secluded and intimate.
My only down side was there was no convenient store to purchase snacks or drinks . You would have to drive or take hotel transportation but would take about 30 to 45 minutes to get back depending on the stop

The staff are the friendliest and most helpful I have ever experienced in a lifetime of travels. The resort was very clean and well kept. The location is convenient for reaching most of the island to sight see, shop, and go to venues for events. It is true the west side resorts would probably get a little more sun, but you can only be out in the sun so much, and those ones (Ko Olina) are quite remote from the other things I mentioned. The beach is safe and fairly private. The water is well sheltered by a reef. The snorkelling was ok with us seeing exotic fish like french cunard (winged fish), tangs, yellow stripes etc. including some schools of fish. The quality of food is very, very good. The workout facility is excellent.

Hotel needs updating; Staff needs training
The hotel needs interior updating due to dated furnishings that have been well-worn. This is not what I expect from a "luxury" hotel. In our ocean front suite, we had scratched and chipped furniture, scratched floors, disintegrating iron balconies, which was disconcerting considering we have a 3 year old. The pool is small and a sad color of purple-ish blue... The restaurants were not stellar with limited options for children. The valets left our rental car out front all day inexplicably and another guest hit it. The staff barely helped us (the other guest didn't speak English) and they tried to downplay the incident. We said we wanted to leave the hotel and they said "sure" and didn't try to encourage us to stay. It was really bad service and shocking. We switched to the Aulani and our child had an absolute blast as did we, and we felt very taken care of by the staff there.

This resort is one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve ever stayed at. The people were genuinely friendly and beyond willing to make sure you had everything you could possibly need or want. We arrived around 6 in the morning and our flight out was at 6 pm and we were extended both an early check in and a late check out. I mean they were THE best. We’ll see you all again on our next visit no question. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH

Everything was great. It is so nice to be far away from the crowded tourist areas. Service is top-notch. With rental car it was easy to explore south and north shore areas, including Hanauma Bay, Sandy Beach, Bellows Beach, the blowhole, and so many scenic lookouts.

The room is large but needs updating. We stayed in the lagoon room and could sit on our balcony and watch the dolphins, which was pretty cool! They provide good amenities and good service. Not much around the hotel so if you don't want to eat at the hotel you have to drive to other areas to eat. Eating at the hotel requires reservations and they are very crowded and pricey.
