We had a newly renovated room that was very nice, but the air conditioning was very loud. The one negative was when we checked in they pressured you to come to a timeshare meeting. We were not interested.

Outside pool closed
This was our third time staying at the resort and possibly our last. The main reason we go is for the heated outdoor pool. The pool was closed and we were told four different stories on why it was closed. The indoor pool is large and nice but one of the days there were 20 guests in the pool, making it virtually unusable. Otherwise, it is a nice resort and the staff were friendly.

Kingsgate is always well maintained. The recreation facilities are family-friendly. The pool was clean and warm. The only thing that could be better is if there were towels poolside instead of having to get them from the front desk. I've stayed here 3 or 4 times and always forget until I've lowered my fat butt into the water. And you aren't supposed to walk in the lobby in a wet suit (understandable), so I just sit and drip in a pool chair a while longer.

I would highly recommend especially for families of 3 or more! Lots of things for the kids to do! You are near so many places to go like Busch Gardens, Water Country, Yorktown, Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg! Beautiful grounds!

Property needs upgrades
A hard sell when arriving. We were told that if we do not book directly through them they could not guarantee our reservation. Laundry is left in front lobby 24/7 unless asked to remove. Furniture needs deep cleaning and updating. The apartment layout is roomy.

This property makes me feel like I am at home. The unit was updated with new flooring and tile, furniture, draperies and paintings. That old and dated Williamsburg look was no longer there. I for the first time extremely loved the unit and I stay there often.
The resort has always been excellent. It’s quaint and personable and had everything on site. The location is excellent and the staff was extremely nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Kings gate was nice. Our family had a great time staying here. There was plenty of room for our family stay and be comfortable. The kitchen has plenty of supplies to cook a fair amount of meals which we did. Only issues- the beds were alittle to firm for my liking and didn’t like being hassled to attend a time share pitch. Overall would stay here again.

The Wyndam Kingsgate was a great option for families to stay in Williamsburg. We had a two bedroom suite and it was perfect for our family of five. The extra space was great and the amenities were exciting for my family: ball courts, pool, hot tub, gym. The only downer was the high pressure from the staff to "join their family" and be part of the club by buying a timeshare. Since I booked on Orbitz, I was just looking for a hotel room, not a sales presentation. It was annoying to have to put them off several times during our visit.

Very poor neglected condition.
When we opened the microwave door the top grill piece fell on the floor and the glass plate that revolves inside was missing. The sheets were way to small for the bed and housekeeping didn't even bother to try to pull them over the lower corners of the bed. Saw the top ones barely pulled over and during the night discovered the bottom ones were completely away from the corners. No way to stretch them to the corners. The chair rail in the sofa area looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months as the large accumulation of dust and something yellow and sticky. The exhaust fan in the bathroom ran, was very noisy, but didn't take out any of the moisture. A refrigerator was sitting inside the entrance to our unit when we arrived and still sitting there when we left as were large bags of soiled linens which we walked by each time we came and left our unit. After we first checked in we were sent over to another representative to get our "information". We were blindsided with a hardcore time share pitch. My recommendation is to find someplace else in Williamsburg.

Excellent accommodations. Rooms are spacious and there was plenty of space for gathering large groups. Beds are very comfortable and furnishing are nice. Was very close to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Great for families.

Im often in williamsburg and i stay at kingsgate. Its always such a Great experience. I had a special reason for being there this time and Matthew at the front desk was amazing!! He went above and beyond to help me and even went beyond that. Now thats customer service. Thanks Matthew!!

Convenient and spacious, nice amenities. Will pressure you to go to a time share sales presentation. You'll need to clean everything in the kitchen including the counters before using anything---it is filthy.

The amenities at this property are top notch. The apartment was a little worn looking.Refrigerator froze our food, not in the freezer. Dishwasher was noisy and old. Oven was good. Microwave was new. However, the amenities made up for this. Our grandkids loved the many planned activities, especially the special Thanksgiving morning festivities. We have already booked a spring vacation.

The property exceeded our expectations for the price that we paid. We found a bathroom drain to be clogged, but maintenance staff responded quickly to our request, and it was resolved. This is a time-share resort, and while there was a moderately strong sales pitch made to us at the time of check-in, our firm decline was respected by the concierge staff, such that we received our room keys without the undue delay that we read about in other reviews.

Convenient location. Rooms have been freshened up a little but more needs to be done. Shower head gives limited flow and at best lukewarm water. Had to wash a few dishes prior to using. Sheer curtain on patio door very dirty. Vent fan over stove does not work. Had to clean something sticky on the master bathroom floor, obviously not moped. The beds were comfortable & looked fairly new. Communication via text was quick & efficient. Check in staff & guards were very friendly.

We found a bed bug our first night. After reporting, staff immediately came to check the situation and moved us to a new room. Foyer of the first unit we stayed in was very dirty with trash an cigarette butts on the floor. Room itself was pretty clean. The resort itself was very nice & clean with lots to do. Staff was very friendly.

We were given a 3rd floor room no elevator had to lug suitcases upstairs we are senior citizens and agent who checked us in should have recognized this i do realize we share some of the blame once we arrived at building and learned there was no elevator, front door of building should have card entry since it is set up like apts. No other people other than your staff and those who have units should be able to enter.

Club Wyndham
I was bullied by the vacation club to attend a presentation I did not want to attend. Staff would not take no for an answer. I was constantly told that I must attend. Calls to my room, notes under my door, text messages all reminding me of a presentation that was not even at this location. Repeatedly told representative I was not interested and did not have a vehicle to travel to another site. Entire trip was a family event and no time was given for any sales calls. Very upsetting that I was being strong armed into a presentation. Ruined this property for me.

We had an amazing time celebrating my cousin's birthday. The resort had so many amenities that we really enjoyed. Had a ball at karaoke nightcon Friday. This was my second visit and you never dissapoint me. Our rooms were beautiful with a nice balcony view.

Not What was Expected
There is a hard sale to attend a time share seminar as the front desk has you see a Concierge to get your room keys.
I advise to avoid the time share seminar if you can as it goes over the 90 minutes they indicate it will last. Have never booked a hotel before that pushed so hard on a time share and that made our group not want to stay at a Wyndham property ever again.

Girls Weekend.
We were DOWNGRADED the day before our trip. Were given 2 1 bedroom condos or a 1 bedroom with an efficiency attached. The 1 bedroom with the efficiency at ANOTHER resort, while older, was a better fit for us. The staff were lovely and we actually had more room Boo to Kingsgate.

We Would Stay Again
We didn't realize this was a time share resort until we checked in. As such, we were "invited" to a presentation to become owners. We declined and were not much bothered about buying in after. Our unit was roomy and mostly comfortable, if a little dated. Cabinets need refurbishing; carpets need replacing or cleaning; furniture was a bit stained, but did not feel "worn out." Kitchen was stocked with everything needed for meal prep and cooking. There was a washer/dryer combo in the bathroom, which worked well. Bed was comfortable; however, bedding was dirty when we arrived and clean bedding was not available to us until the next day, so we wound up sleeping on the sheets rather than in them our first night. (When we called at 10:30 pm, we were told we could enter another room, remove the sheets from the bed, and make our bed up with those sheets, or we could move to another room. Since we were completely unpacked and settled in, and it was late, we chose not to do either option.) Where the resort excels is in the activity amenities like pools, exercise room, game rooms and mini golf - all free - and an onsite tavern serving pizza (very good!) and salads and sandwiches. Really a great place if you have kids. Still fun for us older folks. The resort location is close to everything, it felt safe, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Terrible Wyndham stay
We will never stay at any Wyndham property again, they rang us the night before to say hotel was over booked and we would need to change to a different Wyndham. We had reserved and paid in advance 4 weeks earlier. When we arrived at check in they said we needed to pay, we refused!
They told us they had sorted the problem, but then went ahead and charged our CC after we had checked out. They also tried to make us accept a one bedroom suite and not the two bedroom we had booked and paid for. Staff were unhelpful and rude.

Pretty property but pushy sales people
There was construction right next to our room and in the parking lot that was very noisy and made it difficult to get in and out. They also held our room keys hostage until we listened to their timeshare spiel. We had been traveling all day and it was a lot for check in to take as long as it did because they kept insisting we schedule a time to do their time share thing. When they finally did give us our room keys, they didn’t work. Overall it’s a nice property, but I would avoid a Club Wyndham again in the future because both times we have stayed at one we had to deal with really pushy sales people. They continued to call and text us during our stay trying to get us to book a time for the timeshare pitch.

Never been treated so badly. We were bumped from Wyndham Kingsgate two days before our trip to Wyndham Patriot's Place. NOT HAPPY! Bumped from a Deluxe 2 BR suite to a two room lockout. No hot water and a noisy laundry room at night.

This is a very unique property. More like a neighborhood. We loved all the resort amenities like putt putt, game rooms, pools, fire pit, corn hole, playgrounds. Lots of outdoor and indoor activities. Staff on the property are very attentive and helpful. I also like that they use text messages for any needs or questions you may have. It would have been nice to have a fan in the bedroom. The suite A/C didn't seem to cool the bedroom as well as the living room and a fan would have helped. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again

The staff made great first impressions with our group. Friendly, knowledgeable and available, if we needed assistance.
The decor needs an update. It’s old school Williamsburg! The unit had everything we needed and the mattresses were acceptable.
Our biggest complaint is the noise of people walking in the above unit. Why stack people? Just try to spread them out. It wasn’t a holiday or summertime.
They need Smart Televisions, too. No Netflix or any other options.
Overall, it’s a great location with nice amenities and the cost was a great deal for us.

We were going to stay at a hotel where we have points for free stays but then we looked at Expedia for other options that included a full kitchen and a living room and, if possible 2 baths. We saw this place at a very reasonable rate that included all of our wants and was a 2-bedroom condo 9/6 - 9/11 which is a slow season for Colonial Williamsburg and likely the rest of the surrounding properties. The condo complex is located on a dead end street that is right off the main drag but is buffered from the highway since it is about 1/3 mile away from the major thoroughfare. VERY convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, as well as the really nice Newport News Park and the Yorktown battlefield driving tours through the forest.
All in all an excellent place to stay.
We avoided the time share presentation that promised a free week at a Wyndham property. Do as you see fit.

Timeshare & Ice Issues But Love the Extra Space
This is our 2nd visit in the last 12 months (we have family in the area). Check-in takes longer than at a "normal" hotel because they are trying to get you to go to a timeshare presentation. I'm usually resolute in saying "no". I caved several months ago when they offered me a "free" cruise and they told me that the sales pitch would not be high pressure. Reader: The cruise was not "free" and there was quite a bit of pressure in the sales pitch. So this time I was even more resolute in saying "no, thank you" at check-in. They called my cell the next day and left a message trying to get me to come to the presentation. I did not return their call and all was well.
The accommodations are nice. We like the extra space with the living room and kitchen. My only complaint is that the ice maker in the fridge/freezer is extremely slow in making ice, if at all. This was a problem both times we've stayed. Not a huge deal as we just bought a bag of ice at the gas station. It would be helpful if they put ice cube trays in the freezer and just told you not to try to get ice from the ice maker.

Great place to stay. Love all the amenities. The room we stayed in was dated but it looks like they are renovating the whole complex. Going to parents weekend in October and I plan on trying to stay there again.

Had to check out a night early that was paid for. Lost money..Made 3 phone calls regarding loud music. Finally when security came they knocked for two minutes before someone heard them. Kevin at front desk told me quite hours where at 11pm. So there you do not get a bedtime. Until after 11pm. Music finally stopped at 1124 which I was loaded and ready to go pulled out at 1128

The reviews for this resort are all over the place. We took a chance on a quick 2 night getaway for a good price - about $230.
The units are definitely older and could use a power wash and painting. There was also random garbage and tissues thrown about the property.
Inside the room was reasonable though. Great AC and airflow and pretty large. Good water temp but weak shower pressure.
Decent resort amenities including a couple of pools and hot tub, free arcade, gym, theater, etc.
The BIG PROBLEM is the timeshare BS. As soon as you check in, they start to sell you on cheap attraction tickets. I fell for it because I am an idiot and I never learn. My rep at the desk was named Allison.
I was signed up for a 90 minute timeshare presentation that pushed on for way over two hours. I was not in a position to purchase anything and would not make such an expensive purchase on the spot anyway.
Think of all the usual slimy car sales tactics and this place uses them. I stayed strong and kept saying no and watched the price drop lower, lower, lower.
Even when the price seemed "more reasonable", I was so turned off and just had to get out of there. Stay firm, stand up and walk out.
Read all the terrible reviews on their "vacation club" before giving them a dime.
The good news: I did get cheap tickets for Colonial Williamsburg, a $30 meal voucher for local restaurants and a voucher for a 3 day / 2 night trip somewhere. Lots of fine print in that email...

Overall a great stay.
Overall the trip was wonderful! The amenities were great! Breakfast is not provided so you have to go to a restaurant to eat or cook your own. Liked having a washer and dryer so we did not have to take dirty clothes home. Enjoyed the DJ at the pool. The only drawback is that you are asked to participate in the presentation to get you to buy into their resort and they want you to put money down that very day. The gentleman at the end told me I seemed agitated and I told him I was because I came to vacation and he was taking away from that. Otherwise it was a great vacation.

You can find activities for both kids and adults within the facility. The 2 bedroom suites that we stayed has full kitchen and dining area, we really enjoyed cooking and eating in our own room.

Good for families but needs a refresh
Stayed in a 2 bed unit for 3 nights with family of 5. Check in was easy and staff very friendly. We did not encounter any time share push. Unit was spacious but in need of refresh. Furniture old and brown and very outdated. The resort is undergoing renovations so units will be updated overtime. We opted for ground floor unit as we had a lot of luggage. Only downside was we could hear every footstep of guests above
2 large bedrooms , living room with sofa bed which was comfortable. Small kitchen.
Facilities on site were excellent. We used the swimming pool , crazy golf and tennis and also played some pool in outdoor games area. Grounds were very clean. 10 min drive from colonial Williamsburg. We went there for one day parked at visitor centre and walked around. Plenty of places to eat around also including. Olive Garden. Enjoyed our stay

This was our first time staying at Wyndham Kings Gate. I found the property online at Expedia and I was honestly just looking for a place with a kitchenette. My family was going to Busch Gardens and I knew we wouldn’t be able to do a three day, four night stay without a kitchen. None of the hotels in the area offer this. So I gave this property a shot. To say I was blown away is an understatement. The resort was so amazing. It was absolutely pristine - not a speck of trash anywhere. The ease of checkin and friendliness of the staff was was incredible. The amenities (pool, mini golf, game room, playground, theater, DVD rental, fire pit, tennis court, basketball court, picnic areas, barbecue grills and restaurant) left me speechless. We almost didn’t want to go to the theme park since we were having so much fun on resort. If we HAD to make a complaint, it would be the ancient washer/dryer in our unit. It was too loud to run while you were home. We cannot wait to come back next year for a full on-resort visit.

The property could use a bit of sprucing up. Our refrigerator needed to be fixed and never did make ice, and the mini golf course could use recarpeting. But you can't beat the staff and the convenience of being right in the middle of all the attractions.
