Horrible Experience!!!
The room had an attic feel which wasn’t horrible, although the blinds were broken. Additionally, the walls were so thin, we could hear our neighbors returning from being out after 2am and their detailed conversation about Cinnabon. The bed had a built-in pillow topper that made sleeping uncomfortable. There was also the loud hvac system that would start and stop uncontrollably. The central location on King Street does not overlook the negatives.

Stay in the heart of Oldtown
The property is a bit dated, however the rooms were very clean, friendly staff and the location is absolutely prime. You are in the middle of Oldtown and within walking distance to many restaurants. Our faves, Murphy’s Irish bar, The Warehouse, and the Chart House.

Had some noise coming from ceiling in our room, not sure what it was but it was happening all night. Otherwise the hotel is really nice and great location. Parking isn't too bad but DO NOT drive a tall vehicle in there. I think the max height is under 6 ft. The Wi-Fi wasn't free which I thought was the most annoying part.

December 31st reservations. Upon arriving at the hotel parking garage we discovered there was absolutely NO vacant parking spaces. We learned that free public fireworks were taking place and that people watching the fireworks with no hotel reservations were using parking spaces intended for hotel guests. It was more than disappointing. Other than that our hotel stay was excellent.

Starting to charge mandatory “credit” for food at restaurant, etc. I find that very off-putting. Since I travel their for work often I think I’ll have to find another place. They’ve consistently gone downhill in my opinion over the past few years.

Beware of inconsiderate dog owners
On the second night of our stay we had an issue with the dogs that were in the room next to ours. We returned from dinner to barking that we figured would stop over time. After an hour and a half, contacted the front desk and were told they would try to contact the occupants. An hour later my husband went to the staff at the front desk and was told they had not heard from occupants. Forty five minutes later, at 10:15pm I went to the front desk and was told they had tried the contact numbers for the occupants, got voicemails, left messages but they were being ignored. I told the staff that I either needed a different room or we were leaving, we would not be able to sleep due to the dogs. The staff found us another room, and at 10:30 at night we packed up all our stuff and moved. The dogs clearly had separation anxiety and their owners who were out for the evening , leaving the TV on to console the dogs, were inconsiderate of other guests

This is very very basic hotel with limit services .. rooms on king street side was extremely noisy could hear everything from street .. diff need to update windows and also the heat/air units unreal loud … also do not use hotel parking as lot bossier hotel only $10 per day .. street park east also ..

Noisy Ac/Heat
This is our third stay here right in the middle of King Street short walk to everything!
We were here for our Anniversary for one night room was nice size with balcony only complaint was the ac/heat it was extremely
loud when it came on enough to wake you up ended up turning it off.

The property was excellent. The only flaw (if you will) was that we paid for breakfast with each nights stay. The restaurant doesn't prioritize hotel guests for seating so you potentially might not get a seat for the meal you already paid to receive. At check in, it was a recommendation to make reservations. However, it wasn't communicated without a reservation, you might not receive the service for which you paid.

The room and area around are beautiful! And the rest was rough. The room happened to be near the elevator so all night you heard the elevator go up and down with the metal shaking the wall. This lead to no sleep all night. The bed needed to be replaced as it had such a lump in it that you could roll out of bed. The parking situation was a new system per the front desk. Had a line of traffic to get out and had to get out of the car to have the front dest open the gate because the gate wouldn’t work properly. The restaurant was closed for a special event. Not the greatest experience, but the hotel is beautiful

Well-cared-for hotel, convenient to everything in Old Town. Staff was responsive, only drawback was the lack of convenience items ( snacks/ soda/ sundries) on-site, however there is a drug store across the street for needed items.

The only disappointment was that there was no complimentary breakfast ... was expecting that for the cost of their room, they would include a light continental breakfast.
But the location of the hotel to all Alexandria was awseome. And the staff was great.

the property was ok, the problem was the bathroom. the tub was hard to get into, no bars. we had to ask for hand towels and face wash cloth, the beds had no fitted sheets. the bathroom floor, one day was left very slick had to put towels down to walk on. no breakfast.

Cramped room, great location
I was there for business. I had a long day of travel and arrived later in the evening (around 11:30pm). The front desk attendant checked me in, but offered no real information about wireless, where the elevators were, etc. Usually they offer all this up, but not this person, I had to ask each of the questions. The room was small, which is fine, but they tried to cram a bunch of furniture in there making it even smaller. With a desk, chair and then a random sitting chair, there was barely enough room to move around. One side of the bed is almost completely blocked off. My biggest pet peeve was no sheer curtain behind the curtain. This means that if the curtain is open, everyone can see in. If you want natural light, you have to be open to everyone seeing in the room. I like natural light when I wake up, but don't need others seeing me in my PJs while getting ready. A sheer curtain goes a long way.
Location is great, and parking is ample, never had a hard time getting a space near the elevator.

The one gentleman at the counter was great. He couldn’t help us due to Expedia check in issue so he referred us to the other guy at the counter. This gentleman took a very long time to resolve the issue then sent us to the 3rd floor all the way to the end and in the corner to a single King room , we are two co workers here exploring and our room was booked as a double queen. Went back downstairs and the First Gentleman (who was awesome) helped us out and put us in the correct room.

4 stars…more like a pay by the hour motel
Not quite sure how this location has a 4 star rating. Unfortunately we were traveling late in the day with a baby and by the time we got to our room and realized how horrifically disgusting the hotel was our little one had just fallen asleep so we had to stay put. The beds were so old that we were able to feel springs all night digging into our back. There were cheap dirty sheets over top of the 1990s mattress cover that had clearly been there for a long time to attempt to cover the old mattress. We found multiple chunks of mold in the shower upon waking up the next morning…which should have been expected after seeing the torn up carpeting down the 6th floor hallway. We arrived after nine am and planned on keeping the room until close to checkout but when we realized how foul the room was we chose to leave early first thing in the morning. I kindly let the concierge know about the condition of the room and he asked if we requested a new one. Shouldn’t all 4 star hotel rooms be the same? With the late arrival and a new baby switching rooms would have an extreme inconvenience. I wish we had left immediately upon our arrival.

I'm sorry to have to write this note, because the Alexandrian my favorite hotel to stay in when visiting Washington, DC.
I was a guest on 1-2 April in room 522. From around midnight to 4AM, a small to mid-size group of (what sounded like) 20-somethings were running up and down the halls from room to room, and making a surprising amount of noise. I wanted to ask them to please hold it down, but could tell many of them were inebriated. I was trained to recognize this from my 25 years in federal law enforcement. I kept hoping they would stop on their own, but it only got worse. I finally called the front desk, and the receptionist stated that she was going to "call the police at this point". That tells me other guests were disturbed and concerned as well.
The disturbance didn't abate until at least 4AM.
Even though I have been trained as a LE officer, I was very concerned for my safety due to the size and condition of the group.
The almost complete lack of sleep affected me during several meetings the following day.
I mentioned this to their receptionist the next morning (I checked out around 11AM), but she seemed unconcerned.

Love this place and have stayed here several times... clean, nice staff, comfortable setting, right in the middle of Olde Towne... BUT... baffled by restaurant and bar service? Staying IN the hotel as a guest... came down for business meeting/coffee in the morning--- a dozen tables "open," and told "We are full... no room." Bar is NOT open every night... opens late when it does open and then not open some nights, open others. I know of NO Four Star Hotel that does not have a bar open basically afternoon through late night -- losing potential tons of business here! Does not make me want to return... but did not eat in the restaurant (because I had to battle with empty tables and 'full reservations,') and did not visit the bar once, (because no rhyme or reason to when it was open or closed) -- so, well, lots of eateries and bars got our business -- in this case, the Alexandrian did not. Think again folks... open up! :)

In the heart of Old Town. Walk to anything Absolutely the best Bellman I have ever encountered. Lots of really good restaurants (and the riverfront) are just down the street. An interesting note: the mixture of the carpet and the wallpaper in the upstairs hallways will make you feel like you've stepped into an Escher (sp?) drawing.

We had a great stay at the Alexandrian! Wgat a wonderful location, right in the bustling area of the shops and restaurants, closest to the waterfront of all the hotels in that area. Easy to park in their garage. Free trolley right across the street takes you up and down King Street. Spacious rooms with a fridge and keurig on the room. Wonderful staff, Angie at the front desk went above and beyond to find us a room with early check in availability. My only complaint would be that the mattress was too firm for my liking but the linens and pillows were great. Really cool bathroom! Easy proximity to get to Wasington DC if you choose-was a ten minute, $20 lyft ride or you could take the subway or bus. We loved our stay!

Front desk staff was not at all friendly. No hot water the first morning. Beds were lumpy and the room was well used. They offered free breakfast but they served me coffee in a cup covered in lipstick. We ate other places for the rest of our trip. I wouldn’t stay there again.

One Year Anniversary
My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are nice. Really no complaints at all on cleanliness or comfort. The balcony is nice to have. Wish they had some kind of privacy type screen up but not a big deal. Location is obviously great. We did not share Any experience of those with negative reviews about cleanliness or hotel being outdated. PARKING - Paid 33$ to park in the underground garage. You can go right into the garage the day of your check-in (whenver you want) because it will get charged to your room when you check-in, and on the way out you will use your room key to exit. Very easy. Convenient. Expensive-ish obviously but you pay for that convenience.

Over Night Stay!
We did early check in on line, NOT sure why. Our room wasn’t ready until 4pm. We had to keep going to the front desk to see if our room was ready. They never called like they said. I got the txt the next morning saying our room was ready. The Bar closed at 9:45 which I thought was ridiculous!! And, there was enough creamer in the room for one cup of coffee. No gift shop either for drinks or snacks.
Over ALL our stay was very nice. I will return!!

We had a wonderful stay. Beza Hauilo checked us starting our stay with warmth, kindness and sunshine. She made us feel welcomed and well cared for.
The room was amazing and centrally located on king street.
Upon checkout, the staff was just as kind as when we checked in.
I highly recommend this hotel

I had stayed here when it was the Monaco and it was in better shape. Now the rooms seem a bit dated and though I tried two rooms, very loud machinery that clanked throughout the night. There was also a very damp smell that crept in as soon as the rooms warmed up. No snacks in room or drinks in fridge and no room service and a restaurant with very limited hours. I got late checkout but clearly wasn’t communicated very well as housekeeping kept knocking every 10 mins trying to turn the room. Finally the A/C had an issue and was turned off - it was 90 degrees outside so it became unbearable pretty quickly. Overall not what I’ve come to expect from an Autograph collection hotel.

Beauty and consideration
We chose The Alexandrian because of its convenient location to shops, galleries, the wharf, and restaurants on King Street. The parking garage was easily accessible with elevator to all hotel floors. But our heartwarmer came from the check -in clerk - when I told her our name, she looked at reservations and told me she was going to upgrade us to a larger room with a handicapped accessible bathroom at no extra charge. She said "you will have more space." I think it was simply because she saw my husband using a cane. It was a beautiful clean comfortable room. We will be back!

Maybe this place used to be 4 stars but no more. Hallways on our floor, including carpets very shabby. Went to find ice, there was a sign but when followed no ice machine. Found an unmarked door, opened it up and the ice machine was there but not working. When I called guest services they stated. Oh, sorry, ice is available on floors 3 and 5.(we were on 2). No offer to bring us ice…
The garden/patio which by the pictures drew us to the place was closed “due to inclement weather”(it was 85 degrees and sunny out).

We have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions and it is always fantastic. The staff are very friendly however check in was probably new and had a hard time adding our Marriott account to our room. We did have to pay for parking it was supposed to be comped With the stay however when we went to leave we were forced to pay. Everything though is fantastic at this hotel I will certainly be back and enjoy our stays. It is very conveniently located in the heart of old town Alexandria

The property was beautiful from the outside. The area surrounding the property was fun! Our room was dusty, the shower spout was coming out of the wall, and there were literal extension cords connected to all the outlets. I was disappointed there was no room service or pool.

The Alexandrian was clean, well-appointed, and quiet. The front desk staff were knowledgeable and efficient. The hotel is also centrally located in Old Town, so it’s exceptionally convenient for tourists. We’d definitely return.

Love the location of this hotel as everything is in walking distance. Our room was about as far away from the elevator as you could get which was a bit of a nuisance and our toilet handle did not work upon arrival. Once notified they had it fixed when we got back from our outing. Also the shower did not work well at all..unfortunately didn’t find out till the morning we were leaving to visit family. Could have used a good hot shower that day but oh well. Also went down to get a luggage cart and there were none to be found. A doorman finally showed up with one. Still like the convenience of this hotel.
