Great 1 night stay for family
Check in staff was a little standoff-ish but not rude or anything. Room was good size for us and everything was clean. I appreciate it being a no pet non smoking facility normally things stay nicer that way. We took advantage of the continental breakfast which was really good and the women working the breakfast area were very kind and personable. Area is right off the interstate with many restaurants and food nearby and walkable if needed. Overall the area seemed safe. Would stay again

A unwind night to myself
I booked last minute as a me day just to relax, hotel is near the interstate can hear some traffic but nothing you can’t bare. The room is spacious, beds are comfortable, lots of channels on the tv. Would recommend. Only suggest is maybe a list of places that deliver but there is a Starbucks, Chic- fil-a and a sub shop within walking distance

Great Stay
Check-in clerk was very nice and when we couldn’t get in our room the first time he was very knowledgeable as to the possible problem we went back up did what he said and he was right in the room we went. My only small complaint was there was a basketball team staying and they were a little wild but all good they were quiet by midnight only issue was front desk called our room and we were asleep he told us we were making to much noise upon me saying uumm it is not us as you just woke me he apologized and hung up, but other than that small hiccup it was great..would definitely stay again.

Pros: convenient to I-20, breakfast was fantastic with really nice cooks, room clean
Cons: problems with the card keys, was very loud as could hear other guests’ conversations (difficult to sleep)

Birthday Getaway
I came down to celebrate my birthday and surprise my Mommie by bringing my son who is on leave for the holidays. The staff was very nice and accommodating, rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great! Definitely coming back to stay anytime I'm home visiting from here on in!!!

Broken thermostat
They stay was decent but my air nor heat worked in the room. I called front desk and reported it. They told me maintenance.l would be up to check it but no one ever came. Very uncomfortable as far a temperature wise in the room. Everything else was okay.

What I liked was that they provided a breakfast. And they had a good bed.
What I did not like was that there were a lot of noise. They gave me the room on the 4th floor right next to a busy street (crossroad 387/Ginny Rd). It was awfully a lot of noise during night. They said they cannot control the noise from the street, but it was really noisy (well, it was also Saturday night) that I could not sleep well. So, anyone who are going to stay better ask them to give the room opposite side of the street.
There was a lot of noise from the people in the Hotel on Saturday night.

The hotel is in a great location. Accessible to the Interstates but not a lot of street noise. It was perfectly suited for where i was going for Thanksgiving visits.
The hotel lobby, halls and room (initially) were very clean and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast they serve each morning is well rounded with both hot and cold food items.
The room and bathroom were clean and had nice amenities. The king bed was comfortable.
My only complaint is that my room was not serviced for 3 straight days. I didn't have a sign out on the door that would have prohibited service. They simply didn’t change the sheets, pick up used towels, or empty the trash. I saw several housekeepers & their carts on the floor every morning when I left, which was early AM. Perhaps they were stretched thin for the holiday, I'm not sure. I didn't say anything about it...I mean, I don't change my sheets everyday at home and there were enough clean towels/washcloths to use. But isn't that part of the enjoyment of staying at a hotel, that after a long day at the Zoo or shopping, etc. you can come back to a clean room, take a shower then dive into crisp, clean sheets?
I probably should have spoken up at the time, but all in all, I enjoyed the stay and would probably go back.

The tub is weirdly rounded on the bottom and when standing to take a shower it made a lot of noise and felt like you would fall through… the toilets flush SO loudly. It woke me up every single time a neighbor flushed. Otherwise it was a great stay.

King bed 8" from the wall on the right side. A/c rattled all night. Exhaust fan for bathroom not functioning. Took a breakfast muffin from the buffet and it was moldy.

Comfortable stay
My stay was great! Front desk service was quick and the young man(I forgot his name, sorry) checking me in was very courteous and polite. I always inspect my room when I first enter and everything was perfect I even had extra towels and washcloths(other hotels I’ve stayed at only give enough for the people staying) and the essentials just so happened to be the ones I use at home so that was a bonus. Hotel was convenient and right next to some great restaurants and if you forgot anything target and Walmart were 5-10 minutes down the road. Only complaint I have is the cable tv was confusing but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Will definitely stay here again if I’m in town.

The staff was nice enough. The first room we were in was extremely dusty and smelled strongly of mildew. They did move us to another room. But the carpets were filthy, the air conditioner filters were caked with dust and the bathrooms were covered in a variety of different hairs, overall… not very clean.

We wanted to stay close to Willie B after the Florida Game. This was a great choice the price was within our budget, the room was clean spacious and had all the amenities. The staff had excellent customer service, check-in easy and the hold on my account was $10.00. The room was updated had the Lamps with plugs for our phones. There were Dove products in the Bathroom (my personal favorite). There was no noise from the Interstate or even the Hallway. There is Breakfast with the traditional waffles and all kinds of goodies. We enjoyed our stay and will return on our next trip to Columbia.

Only issues were that some of the lights outside were burnt out, and that the breakfast was overly cheap quality. Location was fantastic, rooms were clean and nice, lobby was nice. Friendly service. Good stay.

This is the definition of average. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it but there’s nothing particularly nice about it. The staff was friendly but there was literally one person working. Rooms were sparsely furnished with extremely cheap furniture although the beds were decently comfortable. Breakfast bar was about average but certainly not as good as some others in the category.

The friendly staff is the best thing about the Wingate.
One of my favorite people has to be Peggy at the front desk. She always has the best smile on her face. She’s always extremely helpful and kind. Josh and Dawn are also friendly and helpful.
There are others who should also receive compliments and commendations, however, I don’t have their names.
I’m very appreciative of those who have been kind and helpful to me while there.

Check-in was great. Kyle (Tyler?) (Front desk) was super helpful, courteous, professional.
The rooms did not look like the the online presence.
No big deal, but my deadbolt was inoperable. Kyle (or Tyler) did his best to try to fix. I moved rooms.
Breakfast was bland at best. Terrible fruit selection.
Beds was great. AC was great.

The night clerk gentlemen was nice and professional. Key cards constantly needed replacing. Bath tub did not drain properly. No exhaust fan in the bathroom was inconvenient. Carpet was severely stained and dirty with cigarette burns in multiple places.

My great experience except for breakfast bar.
The room was very clean, the front desk lady was extremely polite and the morning lady was. The breakfast bar was extremely messy. And being a vegetarian, I was about to get some scrambled eggs but a piece of bacon was in the eggs. Can we have bacon and eggs completely separated? I did tell the caucasian lad in the front on August 28th that the breakfast section was extremely messy. He didn't do anything. But other than that would definitely stay again. I wish they had some sort of policy for nightshifters nurses to check in after work. As check in time is 4 pm. We are night shifters we would love to check at least by 7.30 am after a long shift. Thank you.

It's noisy next to busy road and interstate and there was NO PARKING available...It was full and people were parking anywhere they could find, and in some instances blocking the drive throughs. And as always, in a hotel and you have a floor above you, there were "elephants" up until 1:30 am.

Great stay!
Wonderful! From the check in (super nice people with smiling faces) to the stay! They let us check in a little early since the room was available. It is a very easy on and off the main highway and easy to find. The room was clean, the beds were prefect, and they even had a hot breakfast for us. We did not use the pool, but it did look inviting. They also provided extras like shaving cream and razors, and the laundry facility was nice!
Little hint... sodas are cheaper by 50 cents on the 3rd floor than the main floor...haha!!!

The Good: It was an easy on and easy off to the interstate. The Bad: There was a "Cheerio" right in the middle of the floor and a fair amount of dust in the room.
The In-Between: Breakfast was okay...not great though.

This property is absolutely beautiful in every way. The staff is very welcoming, kind, and professional, but still personable.

Overnight Stay Before Congaree National Park
Very nice overnight stay during a road trip. Room was quite large with a great shower and bed. Several decent places to eat nearby.
