This was our first stay at a Moxy, and we loved it! The room was clean and well equipt. Lobby, front desk, and common area were fresh, modern and fun. Great staff and great drinks and food. We didn't use the pool because of the rain, but it was beautiful and we would have loved to spend time there. There was a CVC right next door and other dinning options within walking distance. We will be back!

Disappointing Experience: Unpleasant Stay
My stay was far from satisfactory; the conditions were subpar, resembling a run-down club with rooms. The cost was unexpectedly high for what turned out to be a disappointing and unclean experience. I felt shocked and dissatisfied with the overall condition of the hotel.

The ambiance was awesome. I do wish that the lighting in the room was more adjustable for brighter purposes. Didn't have much interaction in daytime, but rhe evening staff was fantastic!

Another homerun stay at the MOXY. Charm, character and not another cookie cutter stay.
From the front entrance to the rooms with a giant bean bag chair we felt chill and relaxed. Walkable to all sorts of eats and things to do, cVS is right next door too.
Would stay again!

A rather quirky hotel. There are no closets or drawers for storage. One wall is lined with pegs so you can hang cloths, backpacks, hats and anything else you like. My room did not have a blackout curtain and there was a light just outside the window that shone in the room all night. It didn’t bother me, but im sure some people would have trouble sleeping. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would stay here again.

Weekend was very noisy. Lots of partying in the rooms. They moved me to a quieter location on the second day. TV guides don’t work. Hard to find what you want to watch.

The hotel was very nice and had a fun friendly environment! Staff was very accommodating and helpful! We booked the hotel because we were told over the phone that the pool was heated and up and running but when we were there the pool heater wasn’t working so we unfortunately couldn’t use the pool because of how cold it was and we also couldn’t use the bikes cause they said they didn’t have the bike locks for them which was also unfortunate. Otherwise the food was AMAZING and the area around the hotel is nice and has a lot you can do walking distance! Would definitely stay here again!

Great for the Younger Crowd!!
The Marriott Moxy / ASU is a wonderful place to stay if you are a younger person. (Under 45). The room is very sparse and the bed is extremely soft.
The Customer Service is beyond fantastic! The young ladies and gentlemen that work at the Bar / Front Desk could not have been more helpful.
The burger that we ordered the night we arrived was wonderful.
Highly recommend this hotel if you are younger. This is not the place for people that need to sit in chairs when they are in there room.

This place, kinda too pink for my taste but I did like the wall decor. Nice place. They have a pinball machine and some arcade machines to play. Received a free cocktail, free 3day parking and the room had a small refrigerator. I had a decent view in-front of the pool patio. Very happy experience.

Oh my goodness where do i begin?! The shower was warm and water pressure was perfect. Bed was comfy and huge, slept like a baby. Memory foam bean bag i never wanted to leave. Great atmosphere- lots of games to play in the lobby with great music and yummy drinks. Was in walking distance to voodoo doughnuts and the campus. Went here for graduation with my family and had breakfast at the hotel. Yummy quick bite before the ceremony. Overall top 5 hotels ive ever stayed at

Everything was clean, but the splash of something black in the corner wall about the bed, and the poster frame need to be cleaned with a ladder but shouldn't be left undone as it sticks out as neglected.

Wonderful staff, cool hotel
The hotel itself is solid - funky, spacious, comfortable. The staff, though, were truly excellent. The gentleman with braids working the front desk was a true hospitality professional (I hope they pay him well), and everyone from cleaning staff to managers were very friendly. Their breakfast sandwiches were also very good.

Overall my experience with the property was good. The team does a terrific job being accommodating however the business model setup is interesting and not team centric or guest centric. Team members are trying to do too much with the current model setup. I did have some specific room issues: bugs and technology. I quietly let the desk know about the bugs (it is the desert, I get it) but was a continued issue. My TV did not work, it was quickly fixed. Only one of four of my charging station worked which was challenging with four devices to charge.

It was a unique cute entrance. I just didn’t like how check in was at the bar because when the workers were really busy it would take a minute to get help. The rooms were modern but didn’t have enough appliances. I don’t like how you have to go all the way to the front desk to ask for ice. But overall it was a quick decent stay. I probably wouldn’t stay here again. But if you’re there just to sleep and don’t expect much I’d stay here. It was also pretty affordable.

I chose this hotel because it is right down the street from my daughter’ASU apartment. So the location is perfect. This is what I’d call a non traditional hotel. But is is fun. The lobby is kind of the central location of activity and the pool is quite nice for a place smack in the middle of Tempe.
The few things I missed were an in room mini fridge. It’s so hot there it would have been nice to keep some cold water in there. Also no safe or coffee maker.
But overall I enjoyed my stay a lot and would recommend it

Love this property! My grandkids had a blast hanging in the lobby playing games. The lobby has pinball games Pac-Man game and others, hockey table, pool table. The staff is so friendly and goes out of their way for every little request you have. I can’t wait to go back and stay.

The following review was rejected by Expedia but I don’t know why. See for yourself- A woman who worked several overnights was delightful. Kind, hard working, and helpful. I had a few noisy neighbors (different rooms) over the course of the week, She was able to intervene and help with all. There was one guest (she wasn’t working that night) who insisted on yelling all night and threatening to “beat the a$$es” of those who asked for quiet, the other person working that night (with the yeller) did nothing. I had kids with me and they were unsettled by it.

Good Vibes!
My teenagers and I stopped here for the night on our road trip. We all loved the hotel decor and overall vibe! I had my complimentary cocktail by the pool, we ate dinner there and spent the evening playing all the games downstairs. It was a great location as well. They gave me free parking for the night since it was our first time at a Moxy. We were able to check in early and check out late, which meant more pool time! I highly recommend it!!

Cockroaches in the room. Previous people hair in the sink and floor. They didn’t clean the room until after several calls. No towels in pool area. Long hold when calling lobby. The staff is real nice but they are either under staffed or mis-managed.
The vibe is fun with lots of games and modern seating in an open concept lobby that has a full bar as the check-in desk. But that’s where the fun ends. The 1 bartender gets you drinks, checks you in, answers the phone, grabs your food, and bags ice from the back because they don’t have ice machines. The hall ways are dirty and it smelled like canabis. The halls had alot of dirty dishes and towels that spent many hours in the hall. I would never stay at the Moxy again because they have alot of work to do at this dirty hotel.

I liked the unique decor and feel of the hotel itself and the rooms. The only thing I wasn't a fan of is not having either a closet or a dresser to keep small clothing, like bras and underwear. Also, I found out the night before leaving that getting a mini fridge delivered to the room was an option, there is no literature about that anywhere but it would have been something I used had I known. Great, friendly staff and management. Loved the pool also, very clean and refreshing!

Was given a room ROOM 304, directly under gym, which has no sound proofing. At 5 am thought it was an unbalanced dryer making horrible noise. After 1/2 hour got up to tell them to put something under dryer. Instead found gym with the cheapest thinnest mat under 3 treadsmills. At check out was told that they usually dont put people there. We had booked it weeks in advance, so this wasnt last minute, no rooms left scenario. Still havent heard back from manager.

Not Boring
I find the experience here enjoyable because it’s so different from the usual boring hotel. The lobby games are great (although rock’em sock’em robots and one pinball game were broken while we were there). Staff so friendly and vibes are groovy. Only draw back is that the two times I’ve stayed there, the pot smell has been so strong and the rooms smell a little funky.

This was a nice place to stay for my four night visit. While enjoying a breakfast (which they made in the hotel kitchen, and was great), I heard the management staff having a quick morning huddle with the cleaning crew and sharing a review left. I love the leadership and how they were kindly speaking and engaged with the team members. So I wanted to provide my review so those who deserve praise receive it.
The hotel is clean and it’s a nice place to stay. The rooms are updated and offer an interesting experience with the decor. The lobby offers games and I especially liked the bar that was open late and I also loved the option to order a great breakfast in the morning. Overall, I would stay here again and I’m grateful for the good experience with the kind staff.

The hotel had a really cool vibe. I enjoyed everything except for the walls are paper thin and it is located next to several apartment complexes with barking dogs.This made getting a good nights sleep a little tough.

this was so disappointing. 1st we were charged 12.00 for parking. Then the refrigerator we requested SEVERAL times, was never provided. We pay 618.00 for 2 days. After a full day of travel we were ready to eat, shower and get some sleep. Went for dinner had left overs then no place to keep it refrigerated. Went in to shower and it was obvious that the shower or floor around the toilet were not cleaned. There was hair on shower wall and on the shower floor. DISCUSTING that isn't even the worst park. There was urine spots on the floor infront of the toilet. Who wants to walk on someone else's dried up urine. Then when waking up the next morning found someone earing in the bed!!! The only thing that tells me is the bedding was not changed.. We left all day Saturday then came back late Sat night. No housekeeping was done in the room, we had no towels to shower with Sunday morning and due to the fact the restroom was not clean we just decided to check out and travel home unshowered! 1 trash can in the entire room and it was in the bath room..
extremely disappointed, we chose this place by the pics and location but room did not look the way the pics and the commendations were NOT what they claim them to be. There was popcorn in the hall way floor in the same place from the day we got there to the day we checked out.. Not even the hall ways were vacuumed. No house keeping seems to be being done in hotel and that is disturbing for guest. We will not be going back to location

Our room was clean, the check in person was very friendly. The only problem was that the room phone didn't work to call the desk about the tv not receiving a signal. The engineer was supposed to come to fix it, unfortunately we didn't get back from dinner and visiting my granddaughter in time as he went off duty at 11. We checked out the next morning so had no tv during the time we were in the room. Our fault for not wanting the tv fixed when we weren't there but at the same time I would have expected it to be receiving a signal upon our arrival. I don't usually have need for the phone but with the one in the room not working, we have to go to the front desk for any needs.
I was happy with the cleanliness of the room this time because last time we stayed there the floor in our room was dirty and sticky.
I'm sure we will be back.

The people, a good hotel starts with its staff and Nick and Aamil were amazing. The welcome drink is a nice touch too. They have pinball, games and the rooms with the under bed lighting / pillow chairs were spot on. Beds were comfy and the pillows were perfect. There is some dating and the gym is basic but you price / value ratio is very high! I’d go back.

Expensive for a no frills hotel
Found a contact lense in the bedding. The outdoor patio heaters didn’t work. Saw a note from the hotel but lot of basic amenities for room need to be requested, the fridge being one that I would think should just be standard. Lack of ice machines are also an inconvenience. The bedding is very light, may need extra blankets. And for a hotel that doesn’t automatically do house cleaning more towels should be left than two in the bathroom.

Quick trip and would stay again
We have stayed at Moxy hotels across the US and they are always a fund vibe. This was the original Moxy for the states and the rooms felt bigger than most other Moxy's we have stayed at. We did not use the pool as it was only 60 degrees out but it looked nice. We were only here for 2 nights while visiting some friends and would recommend it to others as its right in Tempe ASU area with a lot to eat and do.

The phone in our room didnt worK and was missing a cord therefore wasnt attached to anything. We had to call the front desk on our cell phone and asked that they refill the Shampoo/soap in the shower but was ttold there was a fee. It was half full when we arrived. Frint desk was good with giving us mini travel size bottles. The staff at check-in were very nice and sweet. I just wish the drinks were better. I liked that the person working check-in and bartending were the same person but that could be why the drinks were not good. Getting the basic drinks or a beer were fine but their mixed cocktail menu drinks were just a bit off, it could be better.

Terrible vibe / experience
I booked weeks in advance and they bump me down to a lower grade room than what I reserved. Because, I used Hotels.com to book my room they didn't give me the difference in refund cost of the lower grade room. You would are okay with this room if you are not a business person, there's no iron/ironing board, coffee maker, and closet. You have to use those things in their community ironing room. Go somewhere else.

Unique and Clean!
Such an adorable hotel! We stayed for 2 nights. The staff was friendly, and the property is very unique. Beautiful lounge area where there is a full bar and every type of gaming you could imagine. The pool area is gorgeous too. This is our favorite hotel in Tempe now. Just book the reservation already!

This property is kinda strange. It seems like a unique boutique hotel. However the in room amenities are none, as in no coffee maker, no bottles of water, no ice bucket, etc. In order get anything, you have to go to the front desk. As for check in went, the bartender is the person that checked me in. There seems to be only restaurant and housekeeping staff. I saw zero guest support staff while I was there. The staff I did see were always playing on their phone or tablet as well.
The room was okay, but bring a blanket with you. The sheets and blankets are super thin and can get cold easy.
When you check in, double check the bath room amenities, as the shampoo was empty when I got there. When I called the next day to get some it took a hour and two phone calls in order to get some.
Now let’s go into the dozen of kids left unattended by the open pool 10:00 at night. You would think a hotel with a pool with have a room key lock on the gates to the pool. However this one does not and kids were able to run around it, screaming at 10 pm. Yes the parents should have control over their kids, however the staff need to pay attention and consider other guests. Over all the stay was mediocre, they have spent more in a strange decor than the actual guest experience.

A boutique style hotel, older carpets in hallways. Comfortable room but only one desk, no miniature fridge, common area to get new towels, had to put garbage outside doors and towels.
I believe you have to ask to get room cleaned as we stayed a week and it did not get done.

I did not receive housekeeping during my 3-day stay although such services were requested upon check-in. Also, as a Marriott rewards member, I expected that the daily parking fee of $12 should have been waived as other hotels commonly allow for.

Great location, great stay
Excellent hotel. Stayed at the Moxy with 3 friends split across 2 rooms, each with 2x queen beds, and our stay was superb. There's a very laidback vibe to the place - especially in reception - where there's a bar (including a free drink), pool table, and plenty of games to play.
Hotel staff were friendly from start to finish; the pool was great - as was its surroundings - and the rooms were very spacious with an excellent shower. We had a minor issue with our key card not working on the final morning, but that was rectified quickly.
Location-wise, it's about 5-10min walking from ASU, and there's a tram/train stop that takes you both to the airport and downtown Phoenix. It suited us perfectly for visiting a Sun Devils football game, and was also easy enough to get Ubers to Scottsdale for a night out, and to the Cardinals game in Phoenix.

Quite surprised they charge for parking. The surrounding of the building needed maintenance. The check-in area had three staff members but only one computer to check you in so I had to wait quite some time while they resolved And issue with the customer. When we checked in the computer system was down so we filled out a paper check in a form. On Saturday I received two $1 charges on my account and a $70 charge. I called down to the front desk and the person who answered the phone said that must have been a bar charge. I said no I only had one complementary drink and the computer system was down. Can I please speak with a manager. The manager explained that the two dollar charges or some thing that you guys do when you put me into the system. And the $70 charge was a security charge that would be reversed when everything was fine upon check out. Yesterday when I checked out I asked her for a new invoice and the invoice had no charges so I thought those items had been reversed. This morning when I looked at my account I still have the two dollar charges and the $70 charges pending. The manager did say because there was confusion on my account he would be kind enough to reverse my parking charges. This was a big thumbs up on his part. And I appreciate that. When I made the reservation I asked that we please have extra blankets. That did not take place the first night we were very cold. And the second night we requested our blankets and didn’t get them.
