Exceeded Expectations
Our first visit to Palatka. The Grand Gables was a wonderful historic home with a comfortable bed, hot shower with great pressure, and a roomy room. Breakfast in the morning made by Jessie was great, with local jams and good coffee. Dinner at Velchoff's Corner (3-minute drive) was incredible. Highly recommend.

Truly remarkable Inn--and Fine Value
What an experience! The Grand Gables is grand indeed, its authenticity wonderfully restored yet overlaid with modern conveniences. Our hosts were simply marvelous. Tate, a fountain of knowledge about the home and Palatka with its surprisingly rich history, gave us a fascinating tour, such a gift and a highlight of our visit. We loved that we were easy walking distance to the waterfront and downtown, plus easy drive to Ravine Gardens State Park, itself a treat. The Inn operates as a true B&B, a sad rarity these days. So no cleaning, booking, etc. etc. fees. How refreshing. Go there and enjoy!

What a fantastic find! It's wonderful when historic treasures like this impressive home can be maintained. Tate was a terrific host, as was Jessie.
Our only issue was the bedroom temperature at night. It was beyond a sauna.

This was an excellent overnight stay. Clean old house in a quiet area of Palatka. The owner was nice and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Not much in Palatka but we found a good restaurant and a brewery. Don't need any more than that. Would recommend this B&B.

A beautiful place to spend some evenings. The innkeeper, Tate, was so accommodating! We had some unique circumstances, and Tate and his family did everything they could to help us with our needs. We also enjoyed the history of the house!

Grand Gables Inn - great place
What a gem we found at Grand Gables Inn! The history of this beautiful 140 year old home is so interesting and Tate was a great tour guide through this with us. We loved sitting on the porch in peace and quiet. The breakfast was nice. Our little French Bulldog was allowed to stay and she did great. We appreciated that. Safe neighborhood. We will return.

A lovely B& B, visit the Queen of the South!
Our stay for a wedding was comfortable enjoyable as well as educational. Following our lovely breakfast the owner gave us a tour of the hotel which was built around 1884 done in the Queen Ann style and restored to quite a lovely B&B hopes to rent whole house in future for a family getaway. A must stay if your in the area!

We were able to rent the entire house for 3 days. Tate met us upon arrival and provided an amazing educational tour about the home that made the stay even better. This home is very well maintained, with bathrooms for every bedroom. Our family spent most of our free time on the wrap around porch. The neighborhood is quiet and just a short walk away from the water. We had an amazing time.

Grand Gables Inn is beautiful and cozy
We absolutely loved it here. I would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are magnificently appointed. The history is wonderful. The staff is phenomenal. I can't say enough about how much we loved our stay. We stayed in a two-room suite, my wife, myself, and a friend of ours. We loved everything about our stay. It was cozy while also being large and regal. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to travel through the area or even not. Even if you're going out of your way, you should stay here

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this First Class Bed and Breakfast. This fine Queen Anne home is in excellent condition and was painstakingly restored. It reminded my fiancé of the charm of her Atlanta home where she grew up: classic wooden floors, high ceilings, fireplaces, and massive solid-wood doors. The owners (Tate) and staff (BJ and Susan) take great pride in excellent service, cleanliness, guest accommodation, and a wonderful breakfast! In addition, BJ takes great pride in her authentic restoration, design, decoration, and furniture.
We definitely want to come back!

This is a unique place to stay. Lovely historic feeling to the place. loved the porch. The proprietor was nice enough to show us around and tell us the fascinating story of this house. Loved the location as well. It would be perfect for Biking.

The property is glorious. The comforter and furniture had stains on them, spider webs in the windows, mold on the shower head and dirty tile in the shower and ring around the bath tub.

Old house, but full of history. Excellent place to stay if you wish something antique and are OK with it. The hosts couldn't be better. Very courteous, kind, and attentive. Very quiet neighborhood. I'd stay here again.

Amazing Victorian House
Just a one night stop on a long road trip.
This was an amazing experience.
A Fabulous Victorian master piece, amazing restoration. The owner made us more than welcome, gave us a full tour or the house. Giving us a glimpse of life in the olden days. Leaving us with some great memories. Hopefully we will be fortunate to visit again

Don't miss out on a chance to stay at the Grand Gables Inn! From the minute of check in to the end of our stay was enchanting. They said to feel as if this is your home while you're here and we did. The Inn's history, from when and how it was built, to the secret underground tunnel, and time spent on the beautiful wrap around porch left no time to be bored. Check it out!!

Breakfast was good but the waffles were frozen waffles heated in the toaster. The people who own the inn are very nice and the tour of the house with the history of the house was excellent. The bed was also excellent and comfortable.

This house is a must stay in if you are in the area or even remotely near it, heck, even if you're out of state it is well worth it. This was our first bed and breakfast stay and will probably never compare to our next BNB experience. We felll in love with the city, the house, and all of its history and Tate and Jesse were very hospitable and couldn't ask for better people. We will absolutely rebook in the near future. We stayed in the sergeants quarters which was absolutely stunning for us, but want to try the majors quarters in our next visit to this wonderful house. The wrap around porch was absolutely awe inspiring looking out onto the St. Johns River. We only left once to go to St. Augustine but were in a hurry to get back!! Thank you Tate and Jesse (and Rocky) for a truly memorable life experience.

Really beautiful property with comfy beds and wonderful hosts. Breakfast was delicious and nice that we had a choice of what we’d like. Our room was spacious and quiet. Loved the purple tub! Area was lovely, we took a walk along ithe river only a block away to dinner. Stay here if you love history, you’ll have plenty to see!

Beautiful period home and a wonderful stay. Everything was excellent from the gorgeous room, service, delicious breakfast, and even coffee and chocolates in the room. I would definitely stay here again if in this area and highly recommend it to anyone whether for short or long stay!

Our stay was amazing! My daughter and I were treated like royalty. I will never stay at a hotel again, the bed and breakfast is the way to go! Our living quarters was beautiful. I slept so good and as soon as you walk in a sense of peace comes over you. I would recommend Grand Gables Inn to anyone that wants a peaceful getaway! Breakfast was so good the eggs were on point! Can't wait to go back soon! Thank you to the owners for being so hospitable! The tour of the house was so cool!

The place was beautiful and very clean, the staff was super nice. The
only disappointment was the breakfast, which I am limited to no pork and gluten due to allergies which usually leaves me to a very limited breakfast. I expected a bigger breakfast but was served scrambled eggs and toast (which I can't eat) but otherwise the place was absolutely beautiful and perfect.

Beautiful restored old mansion. Near the river. Quiet area. Room was small but very high ceiling. Bathroom was down the hall. Breakfast was ok. Coffee was good. Eggs fresh. But no fruit or dessert. Nice people, nice place.
