I know I booked a cheap hotel, so I was not expecting top of the line, but this building is old, outdated, poor maintenance and falling apart. Also, I had to pay $50 for a valet service because there is no guest parking. If I had known this in advance, I much rather put that money towards a better hotel.
I have to give them credit for the room looked clean. The staff was courteous and they were doing the best they could. But the property needs attention.

Either way we self parked since he could not drive manual. Trash everywhere, noisy girls yelling all night thin walls could here neighbor using RR, talking,no soap in RR I could go on and on
Would recommend pay alittle more stay else where

Not a standard for Wyndham
No a pleasant stay fortunately it was just to sleep, after requesting a change of room. The first one was so terrible. Bad smell no clean. Building so dirty.
Mo counting there is a $ 45 charge for valet parking no in the descriptions, only said parking available no mention it was a terrible valet parking. Technically parking more expensive than room.

Didn’t have high expectations for the price I paid, but was definitely not expecting a room with tv chord and no tv, three pillows for two beds, hearing the snoring and alarm from the room next door, and having to wait at the lobby as the receptionist went to check if the room was clean when we were checking in at 10 pm when check in was at 3/4.

Was not the most clean hotel I have ever stayed in, but it was the cheapest rate around the area for just a two day stay. Staff was friendly. Our room smelt a little funky whenever we got there, but decided we weren’t going to complain because it wasn’t that bad. Overall a good experience.

The Hotel is very dirty and run down. It smells of urine in the hallways. The Walls drip water and the paint is peeling off. There is roaches in the breakfast eating area. The whole place needs renovation. I felt dirty leaving the place. It needs upgrades and better cleaning.

The front desk personnel was rude and obviously irritated when I asked questions. She made it apparent that she did not care whether or not me and my husband maintaine the reservation. I also did not like that there was no indication that we would have to pay for valet parking, an additional fee, prior to booking. The bathroom sink did not drain, there was no soap available. More than the condition of the room, the customer service was HORRIBLE.

The walls were thin. You can next door guest as well as upstair guest. Lots of foot traffic in the halls with loud talking most of the night. Room had mold in the shower and the bedroom walls by the windows had a hole. Also missing tissue box and towels has some red marks.

The front desk employees were all wonderful. The property is pretty run down and not super clean. The beds were noce and comfy though. The location is decent. We'd probably opt for somewhere nicer next time.

One of the most disturbing stays of my entire life. Only good things about this place is the walkability and nice staff. Rooms are absolutely disgusting and smell of urine. There was a crazy man outside of our room from 1 a.m. threatening people with a knife and saying absurd things. Police later came and detained him hours later. I would rather have slept in my car in a parking garage. Do not stay here.

Never again
Shower would take 20 mins to get hot, staff is rude with attitude. You can smell weed throughout the hotel even in the front lobby.Rooms had no fridge, I had to request to get towels. Maid service never once changed our sheets. Had to change rooms. TVs were small and didn’t work properly. All the ceilings are gross and the wallpaper is coming off the walls.

This hotel was among the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Everything from the lobby, the sheets, and the entire room were all disgusting right from the start. The countertop in our restroom said “F*#k you Mark :)” and the room had an overpowering smell when walking in. Doesn’t help that the lady checking us in was high and they don’t mention the mandatory $50 parking. This hotel is so unacceptable it should be condemned and demolished IMMEDIATELY!!

Terrible roach infested stay!
This stay was terrible. It started at check in. The lady at the front did not greet me she went straight to asking me if I had a vehicle I said that I did she replied it would be $40 cash now. I proceeded to tell her I won't be needing parking. There's tone of parking around the hotel that you don't have to pay for. This hotel charges you $45/day unless you're front desk wants to make $40 off the books. When we got to our room. It had a smell I couldn't quite distinguish. Woke up next morning with a roach on my toothbrush. And no hot water for our shower. An absolute disaster! I would not recommend this hotel for any other reason then location and price if you don't mind the roaches and cold showers.

I want to start this review with the fact that I know I picked an economy rental and by no means expected luxury, but realize that with most economy rooms nowadays you can expect a baseline of cleanliness where nothing is too fancy but basic necessities are met, which is why I chose to stay at the La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Austin Capital. My expectation of basic cleanliness was far from met. My experience at this particular included:
- old food (taco meat/hamburger?) stuck to the carpet
- water damaged wall
- carpet pulling away from the walls
- handrail in shower rusting into tub
- room keys continuously deactivating (keys were kept
away from electronics and other cards)
One thought I continuously had during my stay was "how is this place still in business?" especially considering the competition in the immediate proximity. Although the room was disgusting, the staff we encountered were polite and very helpful during our stay and I don't wish the accommodations to reflect poorly on their work ethic.

Parking Scam at La Quinta - Wanting Cash
We arrived on Christmas eve and checked in at about 11PM. They told us that parking on the property would be an additional $50. We decided to look for less costly alternatives. When we came back at 1:30AM, we asked if we could pay for the onsite parking. The concierge told us that the credit card machine was broken and that we had to pay in cash for the parking. We went down the street and found a free parking area on weekends. We think the concierge was going to pocket the cash and not report it as part of revenue. I'd stayed here once, back in 2019 for New Year's Eve weekend. At that time, this La Quinta was clean and a great environment. This time, I was kind of shocked by the quality of my stay and the condition of the room. Yes, the room was clean -- it just had a strange musk scent to it and the entire building felt dilapidated.

Good: *Location.. easy walk to 6th Street
*Staff at front desk and valet station were very friendly and helpful.
*Decent breakfast offerings.
Bad: *Urine and TP in toilet when we got into room.
*Room had strong odor of cat pee
*Dirty carpet
*No coffee w/in-room coffee maker
*Overall lack of maintenence by property owners.

No Free Parking, Unclean Environment
Horrible experience and environment. Proximity to Capitol is awesome, just few yards from it. Old, unclean, NO Free Parking, Double Beds are small, Carpet is wet (not sure if it is leak or someone did steam wash and it's not dry yet). No hot/continental breakfast (very limited choice free breakfast). Will not recommend for families.

Budget-minded travellers
Decent service. Mostly friendly + helpful staff, except for 1 lady who clearly hates her job because she’s always on her phone, and gives massive attitude. The rest of the staff has been very helpful and accommodating though.
2 nights of LOUD people.
Had to switch rooms earlier in the week due to a party in room 415 all Tuesday night.
Then LOUD LOUD young people in the hallways on the 3rd floor Thursday night. Called front desk & things became quieter after that. ✅
Finally a quiet good sleep last night.
A good choice for budget minded travelers.
Sad that other people don’t consider the volume of their voices disturbs others who are here to sleep at night… Not the fault of the hotel. Just inconsiderate people.

Several cockroaches were found both dead and alive. The sound of the next door bathroom was as loud as my own. Will not stay there again until it is torn down and rebuilt which is likely why it is still in the state it is. Sorry to give such a negative review as the staff were not responsible for the issues.

I booked the motel last minute… I chose this motel bc it seemed to be in a good area, and the photos seemed ok. I dont know if They filter the reviews but this place was really bad. The hotel lobby was ok and clean for the most part. This motel is very old, the room smelled dingy and there were so many roaches. Omg I felt so embarrassed with my son for booking here thank God it was only one night and we were not even there much time. The room smelled so bad. Like cheap cleaning products and just that old dingy smell that sticks to your clothes. I dont know why Ppl say it’s good here cause it’s not.

poor front desk
return to this hotel at the end of the week had been there in the beginning of the week.
came in about 5 o’clock. The same African-American woman who was working Monday who was rude, was again working while they were customers in line she was talking to her mother on her cell phone. The other lady who was checking people in Center eating a piece of pizza. She was just a touch, more friendly than the first person mentioned who never once created a guest too busy talking on her phone

Don't even bother looking at this hotel
When we went to check in the receptionist had her head buried in her phone. No "Hello and Welcome to La Quinta. How may I assist you." It was a very rude "what do you need" "driver's license and credit card." When we finially got through the extremely rude interaction with the front desk. We then went to our room where the room was not in its best condition. The toilet in the bathroon had feces stains on the bottom of it and the toliet was the size of a toilet you would find in a daycare for small children. The bed had dirty covers on it. The pillows were so worn out that it was like not having any. When we went to check out very early the front desk person was much nicer. The breakfast that was supposed to be included was just terrible. Very limited choices

The afternoon staff that attended to us were really great, friendly and helpful but the night staff wasn’t that friendly and seemed bothered.
Our room was very dirty, we had dog hair, found 3 pills in the corner, a used bandaid under the bed, dead bugs on the carpet and dirty pillowcases.

Very dirty. No lights in the bathroom. The walls are nasty and bedding is dingy. The staff is extremely unfriendly. I will NEVER stay here again. Location is the only reason for the stay, everything else was sold out in a 5 mile radius.

Dirty and poorly maintained- but staff was nice.
The staff was very friendly, but that is where my positive things about this location end.
Housekeeping needs significant oversight. The room was dirty - the carpet was tacky because it needed a deep clean. There was an old chicken nugget in the heater. The baseboards all had significant dust build up on them. The tub didn’t drain. I went down to the breakfast in the am hoping for something redeeming there - that was a fail too. Very old bananas - one was split and a very suspicious orange.
My room lock was broken. This place was dirty and poorly maintained. I will be very reticent to stay at another La Quinta again given how bad this one was.
The fan inside the elevator had a giant black dust ring because it hadn’t been cleaned in got only knows how long.

Terrible. Unacceptably dirty for a chain. This felt like a cheap motel. The carpet was so dirty the sales of my feet tuned black if I walked around barefoot. The sheets and pillow cases are of very ooor quality, something I might expect at at $39 motel. Paying over $50 a night is unreasonable. Paying $250 a night is so deceptive. This location should be stripped of its chain affiliation.

Tenía grandes expectativas para este hotel debido a su ubicación privilegiada en el centro de la ciudad, cerca del Capitolio. Sin embargo, mi estancia fue bastante decepcionante. La verdadera condición del hotel no coincide con las prometedoras imágenes. Es un hotel viejo, con una falta de mantenimiento tremenda y la limpieza es un problema importante, con alfombras sucias que rara vez se limpian.
Uno de los mayores inconvenientes fue el servicio de estacionamiento con valet obligatorio, que costaba $50US por noche. Lamentablemente, los trabajadores del valet a menudo estaban ausentes, lo que dejaba a los huéspedes estacionar sus autos por sí mismos, lo cual está muy lejos del nivel de servicio que uno esperaría. Esto afectó en gran medida la experiencia en general.
Además, los colchones están viejos y sucios, lo que disminuyó aún más la calidad de nuestra estancia.
Espero que la dirección del hotel tome en serio estas preocupaciones y invierta en renovaciones, una mejor limpieza y servicio en el futuro.

The hotel was filthy, rundown, trashy. Our room had no hot water in either the sink or shower. There was a leftover dirty towel hanging in the bathroom and an ironing board left out. This was the worst hotel experience. Piles of trash and dirty laundry laying about the hallways and the elevator is on the brink. You also cannot use one of the emergency stairwells because of some structural safety hazard. Do not stay at this hotel.

I paid $125 a night at the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and in the past I’ve stayed at hotels that were under $50 and were better than this. The rooms are filthy, the carpeting is sticky, the sheets, towels and blankets are stained, the drawers are stained and dirty, and the filter for the heater/AC unit was sitting on the floor for some reason.
No tissues. No microwave. No coffee condiments, no stir sticks. One roll of toilet paper. One bottle of conditioner. You have to ask at the front desk for everything. No towel rack. No room service. They’re supposed to service your room every 3 days, and in the 5 nights I stayed, I never got clean sheets. And the sheets weren’t clean to begin with!
The hot water didn’t work. Cold showers are NOT fun. Luckily that wasn't every day, but that should NEVER happen at a hotel. It's a serious health code violation!!
Then the keycard reader on my door stopped working. They had to send someone from maintenance to fix it, and he had to take the whole thing off and change the batteries.
I would never stay here again. Expedia gave me a $100 credit for this miserable experience and I still feel ripped off.

It's very rundown and very dirty inside and out. Darkly lit, low ceilings, narrow hallways, patched walls, leaky faucets, curtains that don't work, window in my room was broken, I could see daylight coming in through the side of the ac unit into my room. AC never cooled properly. It was rough.

the property really needs an overall cleaning and repair. The staff was fantastic, but the property really needs attention. Bugs in the bathroom, dirty dirty dirty floors, with rust through out the bathroom. the elevator is clunky and the place only due to its location should be a lot less, considering the price for this place is way over what you get. I left early. Moved to a nicer place for less money.

The staff were friendly. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner worked. We slept well. The sign at the front desk says they will only have housekeeping come into your room every 3 days. We stayed for 5 nights with nary a housekeeper to be seen. The breakfast was, well, okay. You're not staying here for the ambiance, but for a room in downtown Austin that's within walking distance of a number of things to see and do, it was okay.

When checking in, the lady checking us in was outside sitting on the back of a truck talking and smoking, didn’t have a care in the world with checking us in. Once checking out the guy behind the desk didn’t care that we were waiting for valet. Once asked, he said oh I wasn’t paying attention and tried to make us go find our own car. There was throw up on the walk way going out of the front entrance. We have stayed here multiple times so that we can walk to the Longhorn games, but never again! $50 for valet to go find our own car, I don’t think so!!!

This property is in desperate need of a renovation. It’s extremely dirty, the rooms & property. A lot of neglect. We checked in, got the keys & we’re not coded, had to go back, the top mattress spread had a very big red stain on top (the guys we very nice & changed them), mold in bathroom ceilings & coming off, the drapes looked like Halloween drapes, all torn. The price was $263 plus $50 for parking. Stayed for 1 night only, would not stay there again. Place is too old & worn out. People working there are nice & that’s about it.
