The hot water was out in the property and no one told us. I even called before I booked on this website and they didn't tell me the hot water was out. It was when I got in the shower that I found that there was only freezing cold water coming out of the shower head. Noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at and will not be staying at this brand of hotel again.

We paid for a King which is MORE then a double
Got to the hotel and they gave us a double and wouldn’t do anything. The girl didn’t know where her manager was as they hadn’t showed up yet and she didn’t know why. Asked us to wait another 20 minutes. We waited and got sick of waiting and left. On top of it gum wrappers (Nicorette) were on the bed, water was left running in the room which was weird, it’s under construction and messy as well. Would NOT recommend at all!

Nice, quiet, room looked ok. I have stayed at many La Quinta and this one does not have the same caliber of decor or bathroom space. The tub and toilet in one little room was very small. The vanity area was a separate area and of good size. The caulk at the base of the tub where it meets the floor was poorly done and quite a mess. Would have been nice to have an extra blanket for one of the beds. Ao hatd when some people are hot and others are chilly at the same time.

Worst Christmas Eve stay ever
White stuff floated in the bath tub when you took a shower, the bed was comfortable, but we found a roach crwaling in the bathroom. Had to argue and threaten to call the health department and knock on all doors to let all guest know that the hotel had roaches with the front desk person to even get Christmas eve's night stay refunded and our deposit back cause i wasnt staying at a hotel with roaches. Was glad i was able to find another hotel even though i had to pay $60 more.

Bathroom towels are so repeatedly washed that they are grey. Wash cloths are worse.That said, sufficient soap, shampoo,conditioner in the bathroom. Even a small first aid kit.
Bed is clean.
Further down the hallway has plastic and blue tape across, blocking the rest of the way down.

Just fine to me
See alot of people complaining about updates. My room was clean, to me,..that is all that matters. I dont care about paint or furniture not matching. I stayed in a suite and it was perfect clean and private.

The carpet was very stained and dirty. The comforter had stains and we had to ask for new clean blankets. The walls were very thin and we could hear everything going on in and around the building.
The staff was friendly and the breakfast was fine.

All of the bedding sheets were stained and torn . There was also hair found on the bathroom floor. I then requested a new room and found stain marks on pillow sheets, the small table was sticky and stain with cup or bottle marks and the office chair was completely stain as well. The hotel hall way floor rugs were all stained and dirty. The room doors were also dirty and scuffed. I was very disappointed in this hotel and would not recommend staying at this location.

Great stay always. Super clean and soft beds.
Really clean. Staff is always friendly. I’ve stayed here a few times. The beds are amazing. For the price, you can’t beat La Quinta in Champaign.

This hotel is wreck. The rooms are dirty the halls are dim and filthy. The bathroom is a dirty disaster. This hotel should be completely redone. Please don’t stay here. It is also noisy. The heater is so loud it woke me up.

Could not set clock radio
Doors to laundry and room maintenance always open. Service carts always in hallway. Air corculator in hallway next to lump of dirt. As though our rooms are the lowest of value.

Gross-owners should be ashamed
I stayed in a suite. The unit had broken furniture, torn carpet in multiple areas, cigarette burns in the bedding, severely stained mattress in the pull out couch (it was actually disgusting) with no bedding- my kids chose to sleep on the floor, didn’t even want to request bedding after seeing the mattress! There were crumbs all over the couch, fake nails not cleaned up on the floor, greasy smudges on the tables- I’m curious what how often it was ever cleaned. I payed over $300 per night!!! This was $50 a night motel quality.

remodeled old hotel, confusing layout, manageable though, noisy, thin walls, breakfast was not good, stayed on game weekend, price ridiculously high for the value, $310 per night, plus side the beds are new and comfortable, nice large TV and shower pressure strong

I couldn’t sleep , the hotel was moldy, old, mildew, water draining on walls, broken things in room & bathroom, screen slashed, window wouldn’t lock. Appears was a motel 6 by the dehumidifier left running. Ceiling falling down in shower. The room was awful, attached pictures. I was traveling and needed a good nights rest which I did not get. For $326 I expected a clean, safe room which I did not get but too late to find another. Very disappointed. Not La Quinta standard.

Staff was nice. The window was broken. Wouldn't lock. Didn't feel safe. Hair dryer didn't work. Air conditioner was very loud when kicking on. Smelled terrible. Would not recommend

The hallway carpets were filthy. The place smelled awful. The room looked like it was going to cave in. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut because it wasn’t level with the floor. The outlets were hanging off the wall only partially covered. There was no chair in the room or any where to sit. It was a handicap room, but you could not fit a wheel chair into the big empty space where there were no chairs because there was a desk so close to the bed. What a nightmare. The breakfast was gross. Thank god the bed was comfy!

This place is very dirty. I do not recommend. Granted this hotel is 84 dollars but for 84 dollar you should feel comfortable. Do not stay here unless you want mold in the shower.

Very dirty, the fans in the room were coated with half an inch of dust. Stained carpet and awful smells. We rented several rooms for volleyball team. Two rooms had blood on sheets and curtains so we switched rooms. Would not recommend this hotel.

The area was nice, but our room felt damp and smelled like mildew. The entire building was dirty, windows carpet and doors. Beds were old and uncomfortable. I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone! We usually stay at the La Quinta in Effingham but want to drive a little farther. My husband and I both feel suck after breathing the toxic air.

Mold on the ceiling, toilet clogged, bad smell
Overall everything that can go wrong went wrong. The room had a bad smell when we entered. Later, the toilet clogged. When the manager came to assess, he admitted that the allotted room had other issues including a moldy ceiling. This means that the manager knowingly assigned me that room, knowing it has mold!
I would absolutely be leaving a bad public review with pictures unless I get a response from management.

This is a filthy hotel! Everything about it is dirty, from the halls, rooms, etc. The toilet ran all night, the hallways were full of noise....all night long. NEVER AGAIN! Do yourself a favor and move on.

For $249 a night, and the picture online, I expected much more than this. The conditions of the rooms was poor, worse than a motel. Small sink only in bathrooms without a true vanity. Small bar soap. Carpets dirty and floors dirty.
The breakfasts were ok.

This is by far the worst La Quinta or any brand hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Smelled of smoke, beds and pillows were probably from at least 20 years ago and won’t know about the breakfast til morning. Will have to reconsider staying at La Quinta again even though the dog fee is reasonable. We usually travel in an rv and this hotel reminds us of why we have chosen to travel that way. Definitely don’t recommend staying here.

The location is perfect because it is very close to everything like shopping, dinig etc. The hotel needs a lot of improvement and updated. First, the smell of our room. It gives me a headache because and I think its the carpet that looks like super old and dirty. You need to replace a new carpet. Secondly, the size of the bed. Its too small for 2 persons because the size is full. It should be queen size especially gor 4 persons. Thirdly,, you need to change all your sucker and upgrade it because everytime we use it, it was loose and doesnt stay. Fourthly, you need to update your shower.

Disappointing and Not recommended
I had a good overall impression of La Quinta but this hotel really need a lot of work. It looks and smell all, carpets in the hallway are full of stains, the tubs seems like they were very old and you can barely close the bathroom door. Two of the lights were not working.
One of my worse hotel stays in years.

The hotel was very old and not like a typical La Quinta. It was more like an old motel. First floor rooms with old windows that did not lock—did not feel safe at all. Asked to be moved to second floor. That room was old, stains on the walls. Hairs in the sink, and grass on the towels. Sheets smelled musky. Would not recommend at all.

We must had one of the outdated rooms. I felt shower was unsafe tub was slippery but wasn’t going to use the rubber mat others had used.
Breakfast was disappointing so we ended up going to McDonalds.

Did a quick overnight stay as I was traveling through. Chose this property because it allows dogs, had hood location, and looked updated in pictures. Bed was ok comfy but linens were dirty on top. There were wines stains on wall, carpets were dirty and there was mold and mildew in bathroom. Wouldn’t stay here again.

This is the worst La Quinta I have ever stayed out! I had left a small item behind in my room and the management would not go look for it for several days and when I finally called, they said they didn’t find it and they talk to the Housekeeper I know that it was left in the room and the housekeepers must’ve taken it our management please do not ever use this facility does not deserve to be in business.
There were vomit stains on the carpeting in the hallways, and the property reeked of vomit smells.

Dirty sheets, garbage in the hallways, and cockroach in my room. Told the front desk who refused to do anything about it. The area and hotel itself are also very sketchy feeling. Don’t stay here especially if you are traveling alone.

We had a second floor suite above the check in desk. The bath tub had a nonstop drip when we arrived, we did not use the bathtub. At 2:00a in the morn, the desk attendant was loudly knocking on our door and the ceiling pipe was leaking. The attendant unhooked the fire alarm which then went off at 2:30a, followed by fire trucks arriving. Needless to say we had a terrible night. It would seem we should not have to pay for such.

A good hotel while passing through Champaign
This hotel is beginning to show wear and tear over time. Ex: missing light bulbs, poor caulk on tub, lack of ice machines and closed pool.
The price is good for the area and the people do care about your stay. A good breakfast and easy checkout.

First I only selected this facility because of the name La Quinta! When I pulled up, there are patches of paint missing off of the tower that has the sign La Quinta. That should have been my clue that the property is franchised. Yes, the property is an franchised facility. Sheets are being used as blankets. The room was musty, the remote was sticky and uncleaned. The phone is 80's outdated and DIRTY. There was a huge hole under the light for the sink, I had to fill it with a towel. My son lifted the toilet seat and OMG! filthy. The hotel is outdated!!
La Quinta if you are going to let individuals use your name, please check them bi-yearly or yearly to make sure they are standing up to your qualities. THEY ARE USING YOUR NAME!!!!!!

The heavily perfumed cleaning products must be covering something up. The smell is everywhere. Stayed here many times in the past and the current condition of the property would benefit from a forward looking renovation. When I pulled up to the hotel I wasn't sure it was actually open. The desk clerk had the lights dimmed or turned off. He said exactly two things- ID and Card. Those were the things that stood out.Overall, it felt like the property was being run on shoestring budget.You can still your stay here if none of that matters to you. I will book again hoping these reviews generate improvement and not just ccorporate hand wringing

My room was very clean and in good condition on the first day of my 3 night stay. However, there was no housekeeping done even when I put a tag on my door. I don't expect new sheets to be put on but I like the garbage cans emptied and clean towels supplied. The breakfast was good but the dining area is small. I did like that I did not have to pre-pay and that the cancellation policy was reasonable. Staff was polite.

The hotel was easy to access of I-74, and the outside looks nice. The lobby area is clean, and my room was clean, but the hallway carpets were quite soiled. I was thankful the carpets in my room were clean. The AC was off when I arrived on a warm evening, so the room air did not smell fresh, and the room was warm. It got better after the AC ran a while. The hotel does not have an elevator (apparently) but the steps were no problem for me.
On the upside, the staff was friendly, the hot breakfast (eggs, sausages, etc.) was good, and the hotel has a rare outdoor pool, which I did not use.
So a mixed bag. If the hallway carpets were replaced, the rating would be higher.

The property carpets were not clean. The receptionist did not greet and was on the phone for a long time before attending. Didn't ask anything about what we were looking for etc., Again the same while checking out. The receptionist was on the phone and asked me to wait without respect.

Nice Hotel but Beware of Tripping in Hallway
Front desk employees were very helpful and cooperative. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was standard continental breakfast plus biscuits&gravy-which were good! Noticed loose caroet tile in the hall-tripping hazard! This was also noted on previous stay and front desk was informed!
