Great hotel not real breakfast
Great location, nice staff, the only downer is the so called "breakfast"....
You can not claim a dull croissant and boild coffee as breakfast.
And then they offer 20% discount to the landawer restaurant so I can have some real food.
They also said it is for gold members but then I saw a sign stating it is to ALL hotel guests, So why lie and say it is for Hotels gold members.

Fabulous location.
Fabulous location. Having a restaurant on site with a discount was great. Free coffee/tea, pastry and fruit was wonderful. Staff was friendly. It’s not brand new nor perfect, but can’t beat the price for the location.

Spectacular location made it special
The Charlesmark Hotel is a boutique-ish hotel in the very upscale Back Bay neighborhood. Transportation, safety and access to restaurants, museums, shopping, attractions, etc. are all excellent in this neighborhood and highly recommended. Considering the price and location, the Charlesmark was a wonderful place to stay on our recent visit.

Good location and nice staff. Rooms are pretty small but clean. Parking is far away and the hotel has basically no amenities onsite. Even the attached restaurant doesn’t open until 8. If you are just using this the sleep and spend the rest of your time off site then this works well for a quick trip.

Location and value but poor attention to detail.
Superior location, very good value but hit or miss when it comes to getting things done. Small rooms well designed but no USB chargers or desk surface. Room kept clean but toiletries and bottled waters not always replaced. Breakfast bar suffered from overflowing waste basket and one day no napkins were put out. Wait staff often oblivious to customers, often because they were listening to devices. Too many kids at work and no mothers to make sure work wasdone properly.

Awesome hotel!! Adorable and clean rooms! Close to everything! Lily at the front desk was terrific! And the gentleman at the front when I checked in on Jan 2 was so great and helpful too! Had a perfect stay!

Horrible experience
It was a horrible night of sleep. The room next I could hear loud loud conversations and slamming of draws and doors into the early morning. I had a very early flight and was not able to sleep at all. The front desk person was not friendly or helpful and did not seems to have any interest in my questions about the stay. The room was very small and you could barely walk around the bed. The highlight was the hot shower otherwise this was very overpriced and not a comfortable stay.

Location, location, Location!!! This tiny and fun boutique hotel is right in the heart of things at Copley Square and across from the Public Library. Tons of fun places to eat in the Brownstones one street over. Hop on public transportation to other places of interest :)

Great value. Very nice and clean Euro style boutique hotel that is conveniently located in Back Bay area. Walking distance to metro station and many historic places downtown. Close walking distant to many restaurants and shops on Newberry street and Copley Place. Staff was super helpful. Really enjoyed our stay and will book again the next time I am back in Boston.

Right In the Heart of Everything
What a great location. I never had to walk far to get to all the amazing things dowtown Boston has to offer. The be was super comfortable. The room was clean and neat. There was an issue with the water in the shower being too hot. I notified the front desk and when I got back that evening, it was corrected. The phone in the room did not seem to work. Also, the bathroom exaust fan did not work. Everything else was great. The staff was nice and even called our taxi for us. I would recommend.

Very clean and convenient to many sights. Rooms are small but we were happy with ours. Staff was excellent. Complimentary breakfast is one small pastry and coffee or tea. There is a restaurant on first floor so you can purchase a more complete breakfast if needed. If you need a spacious room, this isn’t it. But otherwise it’s perfect.

Nice enough little hotel, great location
Generally a great place to stay! Excellent location, and my request for a room high up the building was noted - so I was away from street noise. However, the plumbing was very very loud and sound from e.g. other doors was noticeable, I was pleased to have earplugs.
Room was mostly clean and comfortable, if a bit worn. The shower certainly could have done with a bit more de-scaling. I booked last-minute on a weekend when there wasn't much choice between hotels, so it seemed a little overpriced. But I was out enjoying the city and didn't mind the small space, and I slept well.

A little gem of a place
A lovely little gem of a hotel. When we first arrived and saw the small reception, we were a little concerned as to what we were coming to. It was very definitely a wrong impression. The receptionist was very friendly and apologetic that our room wasn't ready (it was only 11am)! We left our luggage with her and she said we could still get our 20% discount in the restaurant next door even though we hadn't checked in.
We were in room 501 which was a good size and very clean. The shower was very powerful with plenty of hot water.
The location was very good with subway stations virtually next door and Backbay main station about 10 minutes walk. However, we only used the subway once to get to North station where we got on another train to Salam, it was all very straightforward to do. We got the train from Backbay main staion to go to NYC. Again, very easy to do. Most places are within walking distance but if you have trouble walking, the options are good. The staff are all very friendly and very hardworking.
The only negative l would say is the breakfast of 1 pastry, maybe something more substantial would be good. My husband had his pastry then brought breakfast next door. However that is not enough to stop me returning here. I would definitely stay here again if l returned to Boston .

Great location a room rather small but cleverly appointed and comfortable
No need to advertise a breakfast included because a cup of coffee and ONE pastry does not really counts as breakfast; I had to pay extra to get another delicious croissant.
No coffee maker in the room or coffee/tea served in the lobby.
Our son treated us to a bottle of champagne, which was put on ice in our room but the glasses were forgotten; I guess this is what makes it a boutique hotel — it’s good to know!

Good hotel/location BUT breakfast is not breakfast
Great location, (right opposite the metro which is sooo easy to use) lovely lovely staff. Hi Lillie, you're a goldmine.
BUT ... BREAKFAST INCLUDED IS NOT BREAKFAST. It is is tea/coffee and one pastry. One croissant or one muffin or .. you get the point. I do not expect to pay for 'breakfast included' and be told I can have one croissant. Only when I gently but very firmly kicked off and did not accept their 'it is not our fault' excuse and required to speak to the manager, did the hotel put it right by giving me $120 dollars credit for our five night stay to use in the café downstairs (see photo, looks like part of the hotel, right?). The cafe is NOT part of the hotel, it is a completely separate business. Had I accepted their put-off, I would have been paying $30-60 per day for something I thought I had already paid for.
Europeans know what breakfast is, maybe Americans see this differently.
I would not have booked for almost £1,800 to be told I had to buy breakfast all over again.
Well done Charlesmark for putting it right, but this was not necessary.

Attractive tiny rooms in the heart of Copley Sq.
This hotel is in a great location, just across the street from BPL (Boston Public Library) and close to everything else in Copley Square and on Boylston St. and Newbury Street. My room was tiny (140 square feet), which is typical of some European hotels, but this is less than half the size of a typical American hotel room. Ideal for a single child traveling alone or a single adult who identifies at a "little person." Not recommended for full-size adult couples, since it would be impossible for 2 adults and both their suitcases to fit. Other than that problem, the room was attractive and comfortable.

I love this hotel! They even have a huge collection of dvds and vhs for guests to watch in their rooms. The only issue I have is with the mini fridge. I put some drinks and some food in there, only to have everything warm the next morning. I had to throw away all my food.

Clean, comfortable, great location! Discounted parking at $30/day was a great deal considering other hotels/garage change > $50. The free coffee/tea served in the cute open-aired cafe on the first floor was a bonus- and the pastries were fresh and delicious (not store-bought). We will be back next year and will stay longer

What a great little Boston hotel! Super location--across the street from the Library, and so convenient for many historic sites. The room isn't fancy, but it's definitely comfortable. Some fun perks such as a great sound system for the tv, and comp coffee & pastry in the morning. Pro tip: try the chocolate croissant...it's delicious! Parking is not onsite, but at least you get a discounted overnight rate at a nearby parking lot ($30 overnight--which in Boston is a bargain!) I would recommend.

The hotel was in a great location. The room was cozy, but perfect for the two of us. Very clean and free muffin with coffee in the morning was a perfect way to start your day. If traveling from the airport, i highly recommend taking the Logan Express back bay.. It runs every half hour and the drop off/pick up location is only a few minute walk from the hotel.

Not worth the money!
Hotel room was so dark it was hard to put makeup on. Room was clean. Bed was a full and not comfy. I asked for a queen and was told that even though reservations were made 4 months prior, it was not far enough out to get a queen. Also shower was minute and the drain was recessed an inch lover than floor. Someone could have gotten injured. Do not waste your money getting a room.

The hotel is in a great location, very central, easy to get to right next the T-station on Copley Square. There is a restaurant and coffee shop at the restaurant with a free pastry and coffee for breakfast. The room is small but has all the essentials and for Boston, it was a good deal. Would definitely choose again.
