I had high hopes when booking this and was sadly disappointed. The hotel staff would not allow me to add my toddler to our room, asking that I book a seperate room for him. Obviously that was not an option and they wouldn't allow him to swim in the pool with us because he wasnt on the room (again which they wouldn't add him to). I ended up checking out after night 1 of a 5 night trip and having to find a different hotel that would allow my toddler to use all the amenities. After I had been checked out of the hotel for 2 days, my card on file was charged a "pet fee"... I called to ask why in the world I was charged a pet fee and was told "because there was an unknown occupant in the room".... referring to my toddler that I attempted to add to the room... Worst hotel experience I've ever had. I filed a formal complaint and also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

They live up to their name.
The exterior doors need some maintenance but the insides are well maintained, very clean, and modern. The amenities are all in very good working order and well kept especially the AC. Every room I've had is dry with no unpleasent odors.The staff is very curteous and quick to resolve any issue. The wi-fi/cable does tend to go out when a big storm rolls through, but it is not their infrastructure that is the problem. I have stayed at several hotels in the Sumter area for business and Quality Inn is by far the nicest and cleanest for those on a budget. I definitely recommend them and stay there often.

This hotel is close to everything, staff was super friendly!!...Especially Marie!...she made my stay here so very comfortable!!. The price is also very affordable. I highly recommend!!

This was and excellent stay. The staff are nice ,courteous, and attentive. Some members of the kitchen service staff may need sensitivity training regarding humans who don't speak English. There are a lot of what appear to be unfinished parking projects,pool was out of service, and remodeling. Again the stay was excellent. The.grots hand lumps. My grandmother would have love those grits but without the lumps.

I kept calling the front desk asking them to not send maid service, which they said was fine . but every morning at 9:30 they were knocking again to clean. There should be a do not disturb sign or the ability to opt out for maid service.

Money issues
The stay was okay, but I was not prepared for the extra charges that they were putting on my card for each night of State. These charges according to them will be placed back on my card in two to three business days by my bank

I was disappointed to see how much light (which means air, in and out) around the bottom and sides of the outside door. The handrails in the bathroom were rusty.
The linens were all very nice and fresh. The staff was all very friendly. For breakfast we actually had someone take our order and bring us our food. She was very pleasant and outgoing. She explained to us why they went to the procedure they now have for breakfast.

Would not stay here again. Front desk was not accommodating to Expedia booking error. Room has bugs, more than half the lights were burnt, and several electrical outlets not functioning. Rooms in serious need of upgrade as well as front desk staff in serious need of customer service training. Glad our stay was for only one night but even once was too much. Overpriced and undervalued for the avaense of quality at this location. Do not recommend.

Staff was super nice. Room was average and clean. Parking lot and grounds leave a lot to be desired. Pretty run down. Restaurant staff was nice as well and food was good. Would stay there again but remember you get what you pay for. Don’t expect a Marriott at the price of Quality Inn.

A great value for the price! Parking lot needs a lot of work, so from the outside it doesn't look very appealing, but they have obviously recently remodeled and the rooms were perfect. Clean, comfortable, convenient, with nice new hard floors....no nasty carpets to make you cringe. Plenty of seating, desk space, table tops, outlets, drawers, etc. Staff could not have been nicer, friendly and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping! The complimentary "continental" breakfast, was actually a full breakfast buffet at a restaurant which adjoins the hotel. A huge selection of all kinds of delicious hot breakfast foods, and a waitress bringing you juice and coffee! This is not a fancy place, but if you just want a clean, comfortable place to lay your head and a yummy breakfast, I heartily recommend this hotel! (They also had a small "business center" with a computer and printer for the use of guests.)

I arrived at the hotel to a dirty room, dirty sheets with bugs on them and a dirty bathroom. The area and property felt unsafe. Chose not to stay after the receptionist couldn't provide another room.

First of all, Quality Inn lied about being pet friendly and had to pay a deposit!! Plus there was an extra $23 for room security! I'm sorry to be angry about this ,but I will NEVER TRUST YOUR SITE AGAIN!!

Oh my goodness, where to I begin. The photo on the internet is not a depiction on this actual MOTEL. Yes it is a MOTEL!! Falling apart, dirty, and run down….. Very Very Sketch occupants!!! I do not feel safe at all.

My room was nice. The restaurant was very good. I really enjoyed the food and the service. We left some clothes and realized it when we got home. We called the hotel and housekeeping had it and gave it to the front desk. We had some friends who were still there pick them up for us. There is one thing that I did notice that bothered me, the supports that held the 2nd floor walk way on the parking lot side of the building appeared to be structurally unsound.

Good price, good rooms, good loaction
The checkin prcess was easy. We arrived later than expected, due to traffic. I did call the hotel in advance to make them aware i woukd be checking in late. I didnt have a problem. The breakfast was good. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. They are currently doing renovations in some of the rooms. So there is some debris outside. However, not anything that was in our way. The gym is small, but has adequate qieghts and machines. Coffee is available at any time in the lobby. There is a little coffe station. Staff is very pleasant. Convenient location. I will Stay here again.

Bad turned to worse
Most everything was okay. It was the staff that was the problem. Tried to charge my card for my service animal after DELIBERATELY telling them she was a service animal. Walked away from the desk while I was talking mid-sentence. Their dryer ate my coins and I was told I would be reimbursed by management in the morning. Never happened. In fact, "management" told me I had been lied to and, with an attitude, basically told me I was SOL. Then tried to put me on a do-not-rent because the 'lady' "didn't believe my dog was a service animal", regardless of the vest and collar she has and tried to charge my card a third time after I had left the property. Absolutely pathetic. She then had the nerve to call me after I was already gone and tell me I was being belligerent. I told her if she tried to charge my card again I would be pressing charges for harassment and fraud. Be VERY careful if you choose to stay here.

Disgusting property!
This place is an absolute dump inside and out. There is trash and huge pot holes in the parking lot Cob webs hanging fun the stairs, and trails at the foot of the stairs. There was a ling fake finger nail on the stairs Inside the sink hadn't been cleaned. It was filthy around the toilet. The walls were splattered with something. Paint chipped and paint where it didn't belong. It's pretty bad. I don't usually leave a review but i don't think Hotels.com should list this property. I was in town 2 nights but moved across the street for the second night.

A pleasant stay. This property is in the process of upgrading. Some things are finished others are a work in progress. Directly on route 378 but was a quiet stay. No issue with highway noise or other guests being noisy. Breakfast coupon for buffet at on-site restaurant. Lots of other food choices nearby for lunch or dinner. My king room was completely remodeled and was clean and comfortable with many amenities. Free parking at the door. Check in and check out was fast and both clerks were very courteous. No complaints.

They wouldn’t allow me to extend my stay talking about there was suspicious activity around my room when I was only looking for my door dash food and we were visiting from Ohio. I even called the front desk and ask about my food to see if it was left there it o my to get lied on about I was told to leave and I was never asked to leave ….

The staff were extremely unprofessional and predatorial almost. As a professional traveling and having stayed with Choice hotels in the past, this location embaressed the brand name. The greeting was rude and unwelcoming initially but briefly improved until the night shift person came on and stalked me online and then actually played on my phone to retaliate for her lack of life goings and when confronted about it she became argumentative and actually told lies on me despite the cameras rolling and filming the truth. The manager was an absolute joke and brutal disappointment and appeared to be unskilled and incapable of leading a crew. I killed two roaches, made a desperate attempt to check out early on day two and flea and the manager made that almost impossible to get a refund after prepaying for 4 nights. The pool was closed, not a flutter in sight, pool pump was broken. Ice machine was broken. Mildew smell. One plus was the southern fare restaurant attached but in the night there were gangsters cat calling to me and my daughter aggressively and I am sure I heard a physical fight coming from the parking lot. It was absolutely a poor experience there. Oh and the green Quality Inn sign was not even up when we arrived, it was later installed but it still sucked. Weak property, bitter and lackluster staff and despicable service. SAVE YOURSELF AND RUN, dont stay here!

The hotel itself is older but the rooms are clean, updated, and the restaurant at second mill is GREAT . ALYSSA does a great job there. Front desk in the daytime is a bit particular and could use some customer service training or maybe a smile but other than that I recommend this place for the price if staying in SUMTER

The service is outstanding. The two ladies that work the front desk and the maintenance guy are great. However, breakfast is awful and the hotel is under renovation, so the parking lot and the rooms have a lot of work in their future. The WiFi in the rooms is super weak, the treadmill in the fitness center doesn’t work, the printer does not print and the air conditioner unit in the room is really noisy. The place is safe at least.

The property was clean, but there were roaches in the hotel. I killed three of them within a couple of hours of each other. One was on the desk too! The lock on the door was loose. One can gently pull it off the wall. There were no racks to hold towels in the bathroom. It had one small hook on the back of the door. Not efficient when you have multiple people in the room. There was new furniture, but the room itself was really old. The outside of the hotel is an eye sore. Quite disappointing.
The staff was amazing! They were friendly and very helpful!

The room refrigerator didn’t work, and the ice machine was broken. The coffee pot was dirty, not from coffee stains - wiped the water reservoir with a tissue & it was black. There was no bread/rolls/muffins on the breakfast buffet, only the hot foods. The bathtub did not fully drain while taking a shower.

The outside was strangely desolate and made us wonder whether it was open or not? Once we got to the room our nightmare started! My wife spent two and a half hours cleaning the filthy room! We would have just left but we were very tired from our trip.. there was gobs of curly black hair on the blow Dryer and in between the folded towels!!! Going from the room to the car we had a maze of spiders falling from the ceiling etc!!! It was about the worst overnight stay we've ever had!!!

Very unhappy guest.
The room was one of the renovation rooms. All they did was put new furniture in an old dirty room. There were stains on the walls from previous guests, spider webs with bugs caught in them in the ceiling corners and mildew in the bathroom. They installed a new lock on the door while I was resting, trying to relieve a headache. The noise, sparks and the sound of the smoke detector did nothing to help. Unfortunately, I can't attach the video. I will not be going back.

Property maintenance is usually an ongoing process. Cleanliness needs improvement: Spider webs with spider over 2 feet in length does not happen overnight. Food residue on laminated covered room information is unacceptable. Floors were not properly cleaned. Closet doors were not attached, left aside the opening. I recommend management supervise and inspect rooms and facilities personally. I witnessed customers complain about billing however the manager could not be contacted.

This is an old property that shows its age. Beds are uncomfortable and the room itself was not completely clean, as items from previous renter still remained. The heating/air unit made lots of noise throughout the night.

This property was too dark for family with kids to stay.Noone at desk when you go in.They also can't accommodate if you have anyone with a disability. On top of it,NEVER USE EXPEDIA TO BOOK.After arriving and them not able to accommodate, i called to get a refund and after 4 days of calling and waiting on the phone, they could never get property manager from hotel on phone. Finally they reached them today,only to be told that hotel doesn't give refunds. Had to go online and file a claim that could take up to 10 days and even with paying extra for insurance they said i may not get a full refund. I will NEVER book through them again

The worst stay!
On arrival, I had to wait half an hour to get someone at the desk in order to check in. It was horrible. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because they advertised that this hotel included hot breakfast with my purchase of 2 days. I set an alarm for 7am in order to receive what I paid for and was told both days there was nothing to offer? Not even hot coffee. Very dissapointed and would advise the hotel to get rid of its workers including management. Find those who take pride in customer service and who would empathize with soneone in my situation and make it right.

It was under renovation!! The place was TERRIBLE and nothing like the pictures. Even the sign at the front desk was apologizing for the condition due to it being renovated. This should have been noted on the ad with Expedia.

The lady from Mississippi, working front desk was awesome. She was very efficient and helped me sort out my booking issue right away. She even called my room to make sure everything was good to go. Overall, it was one of the best places I've stayed at for the price. Done let the renovation and surrounding area fool you, the room was definitely better than I expected.

There was absolutely no towels or wash cloths in room upon arrival was told the room reserved and booked prior to arriving was not available due to the company's system not being updated properly. The grounds look as if renovations are being made however no work is being done unsightly and wouldn't stay here agai.to save my life

This is a very beat up hotel!!! The vanity front is coming off. The Fossett does not work properly. The carpet has a big stain in it. In the air conditioner blows out with a rank smell

Will Never Return! ¹
I would like to start by saying I travel to Sumter 1-2 times a year for at least a week and always stayed here. I will say that the cleaning ladies were very nice, helpful and courtious. The owners seemed nice at first but then the husband (Owner) made us feel very uncomfortable by staring at my sister and I and the owners wife was rude by giving us dirty looks. We never did anything to make the owners act this way and we will never come back!!!

Unexplained charges
After I left, the hotel charged from my bank account without noticing me and when I called they denied one of them, explaining the other one is occupancy tax which wasn’t explained to me when I checked in. The person who answers the phone hang up on me the first time I called. Terrible experience, felt unsafe about my bank info.

The lobby was in better condition than the rooms. They spent their money making the lobby and dining area nice. The breakfast was gross. The eggs and sausage shouldn’t be class it’s food because it was so fake. My room had old carpet with huge stains. I needed to separate remotes to control the tiny tv. The microwave was from the 90’s. The bed as old and sagging. There were cockroaches and spiders all around the room. I would never book here again.

OMG this hotel was unbelievably run down. I honestly didn’t expect it to be so worn the pictures on the Internet are deceiving as the hotel looks nothing like photos but the end-all was there were two roaches in the room one on the wall and one in my bed after one night we had to check out we left and will never return it was so disgusting when I called the office to inform them of the road and he said nothing silence not a word. Furniture dusty and chipped profusely. Drawers wouldn’t close and dim lights throughout. Worst experience ever!

Quality inn is undergoing a lot of renovations. Probably should close down til done. It looks very bad. You can see that it needed renovation badly. They let me know renovating going on ordered by new owners. However they didn’t get to rooms yet. Hotel lobby looks great! In my room, toilet stopped flushing. Called right away and to they credit, fixer came quickly and did repair. But that’s pretty bad for it to stop. Also when first check In and get to assigned room, door covered in cobwebs. Too tired after long trip to go back to lobby and complain. So destroyed webbings myself. Nasty and freighting! Kept thinking some huge spider gonna knock on door to say he saw what I did! Room itself old and smelled a little musty but otherwise had everything in place, reasonably clean. So kept room. Anyway I figure all room there will be same. So made do. But will not stay again or recommend

The hotel looks good from the front, but when you get the backside it is horrible. They are doing work now, so maybe it will be better soon. Breakfast was good, the room was clean where you ate. The room we stayed in could have been cleaner, there was a mushy smell in the room. Just needs some work done overall.

The place is a wreck
This place was a dump. Not at all as shown in pictures. According to the desk clerk, it was recently sold to another group, she didn’t know who. Trash everywhere, completely run down. Then had to wait 10 minutes for a clerk to show up so we could check out. Bill was 142, but I see on my bank statement that I have been charged 143. Stay away!
