Told there was an elevator for my building, had a 3rd floor room, elevator was broken and not going to be fixed for 3-4 weeks. resort daily fee charge told if I used the on site restaurants that i receive the fee back as subtracted from my food charge. Not told food charge HAD to be put on my room bill. not given internet password but told repeated to use my computer to make reservations to restaurants, phone in room did not work, only one plug in by bedside worked and light was in plug...I use a CPAP machine at night and difficulty finding a plug to use. None of my concerns or room problems were addressed except to move me to another building the afternoon of my last night. I definitely would not stay here again. for the price the hotel service at main desk was not friendly. Servers at Shipyard and old Captiva House were wonderful though and handyman for resort very helpful.

Tween waters management is not to be desired
I was a quest at a wedding September 2023
Aside from the expected hurricane damage which has nothing to do with my complaint. The property is not well managed the staff and management is either nasty or claim to be clueless ! Rooms were incorrect … the property is filthy there are many code safety violations for which are going on under the radar …. Parking is horrid … the only plus I can give is the food is good the outdoor golf cart drivers are good to the guests ! Other than that I would not advise staying there until the management does their job ! Right now thy are getting away with it bc thy are the only place open but not for long !!!!

Horrible experience with this place. The high price of the room doesn’t match the condition of the hotel. Everything is super old. Paid $400 a night for the old room with broken shower. Motel condition for the price of the finest resort. True rip off.
On top of that, Tween waters double charged me for the room. So, $800 total later, 5 days…. , still no refund issued. calling hotel for two days, manger is not calling back….
Overall beautiful island. Just wait for the other hotel to get back. This place is ripping people off for their motel quality rooms.

Location is great, 2 min walk to beach or marina. No cost use of equip for tennis, shuffleboard, water sports, great food, 2 great pools lots of seating w/food & bar, cabanas. Both hot tubs were out of order, tv service not available but wifi allowed for streaming. Rooms are very basic, no microwave. Very nice people & svc.

Tween Waters is a great place to spend a vacation or in our case to host a wedding. We had a fabulous beach wedding there and all of our guests were impressed with the meal and the service. It was a very special day for all attending. We stayed a couple of days to relax afterward and enjoyed the beach and excellent food at their restaurant.

Add on to my initial review where I mentioned this place was party central in January, but LOVED air otherwise.
I got a $680 bill two months after my stay for incidentals.
I also got billed for a boat rental because I didn’t cancel 24 hours ahead of time. I had some guests that were not swimmers and I didn’t not deem it safe. Never mind they were closed that day because there was a bad storm with hurricane alerts. “I should have called” even though they weren’t there.

The room was terrible! If you like blood stained pillows, black curly hairs all over your sheets & mattress cover, an unsecured front door that doesn't shut/lock properly, tacks that poke your feet where the old carpet meets the tile, broken light fixtures, and pee stains on carpet....then this place is for you!
We checked in on a Wednesday night, had some food then got to our room. It looked nothing like the pictures online.
It was very dated and our bedding was really gross. The front desk staff that night was very polite and gave us new sheets...but those were the wrong size. So we got more new sheets which were also too small to fit on the bed.
We were going to just deal with it, but we kept stepping on a sharp tack under the old carpet where it met the tile so we had to wear sandals in the hotel room. Our front door also didn't fit flush in the frame so you could see light coming through and you really had to "hit the sweet spot" to get it to lock, but it didn't seem really secure.
We asked if we could have a different room, but none were available so we checked out the next morning. We politely told them of our issues, but the staff at the checkout was very rude and didn't want to hear any of it. She then told me that I would only have to pay the resort fee for our first day, and that we would get a full refund for the 3 other days when our 3rd party booking company contacted them.
A week later we have no refund. Stay ANYWHERE else! Great island, bad resort.

The property has access to a lovely beach. But they charge extra for chairs and umbrellas, resort fees, other recreational charges, etc. Felt like we were being nickel-and-dimed on top of the base prices. Better to charge a little bit more up front and be all-inclusive.

Great convenience to walk to beach. No place to rinse sand off feet that we found. Used pool shower but didn’t have a low “head” to rinse feet. It was super windy a couple of our days so you got soaked just trying to get sand off your feet.

The resort was well maintained. I enjoyed the beach chair and umbrella service. It was great to be on a beach and not be elbow to elbow with people around us. This was our first time here and will not be our last. The rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. I liked all of the pools and hot tubs. I wish there was a hot tub within the adult only pool area. The coffee bar by the pool needs to finish their renovations and re-open soon. The sunrise over the bay and the sunsets over the private beach are amazing.

Great place for R&R, beach is right across the street, very short walking distance. There are no grocery stores near by. Transportation on the island is very limited and expensive. Elevator to our room was out of service, and no microwaves in room but can rent for $20 daily. In hind sight I think a car rental would’ve cost about the same as taxi. We were disappointed with the bar by the pool, servers were pretty rude, costly mixed drinks were not enjoyable. I feel like that bar could use a face lift. Everything else is pretty great. I would definitely come back except maybe rent a car next time.

Great location. Right across the street from the beach. The room had a view of the beach which was great for watching the sunset. There's only one or two decent restaurants in the entire Captiva area. The property itself needs a few renovations to make it look and feel a bit less run down.

Unbeatable location
You can't beat the location. Gorgeous private beach and a great bay for kayaking. Restaraunt was good. "Downtown" Captiva is about 1 mile away. Hotel buildings a bit old but nice. Very,very clean. We loved it.

This is an old Florida hotel, in an old Florida area No frills, but very good value and location. It has all you need for this destination. It is not a luxury hotel, but it has all the amenities, 2 pools, tennis, 2 restaurants, water sports, free bikes. I will be back.

The room was very overpriced. We were on the top floor with my elderly mother who has mobility problems. The elevator was broken the entire time we were there and we had trouble getting her up and down the stairs. The parking was terrible. There were more cars than parking spots.

Little Hidden Gem on Captiva.
The hotel itself is dated, but really that's what gives it's appeal. Our room had a pool view, which I really enjoyed. The poolside service was great, drinks and food where equally enjoyable. On our last night we enjoyed dinner with a band and they were fun to watch and sing along with. Already trying to plan another long weekend stay in the near future.

We loved our stay at Tween Waters Inn! The amenities they have are awesome, and everything is so convenient! Their beach access is beautiful and the marina with free kayaking, the pools, and the restaurants are all awesome! Unfortunately, though, several areas within our room were broken. The light above our kitchen counter wouldn’t work, the safe kept having errors, the balcony door was super hard to open, and the fridge door kept opening on its own. Also, some of the equipment on the property was in disrepair – the lifejackets for kayaking had tears, there were wonderful tall chairs on the lookout deck at the marina, but the threads were breaking, and the laundry room was kind of dirty. Also, we happened to be staying there over the singer songwriter weekend, which was fun, but the music was so loud next to the pool and our room was poolside. Having live music was great,but it was three days in a row, and maybe they could figure out the sound so that it’s just a little less amplified. Same thing goes for the music at the crows nest restaurant, which was fun to listen to, but was crazy loud! Overall, though, Tween Waters is a great place to stay because of the gorgeous location, the friendly staff, the wildlife (like manatees) and awesome amenities.

Both the pools at Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa were fabulous! Crystal clear and clean. If anything, they could have used a few more lounge chairs and umbrellas around the Serenity pool, most Adults without children were at this pool. Overall, it was just what the doctor ordered!!

First getaway after covid
I am used to vacationing in Mexico. The resorts I stay at there are immaculate for less money. This is more like a lake resort. The water smelled and tasted horrible. We had a nice stay but it was not worth the cost. One couple that vacations there every year said the rooms are going up to $600/night next year. I just can’t see that this resort is nice enough to warrant such high cost. Everyone said the breakfast was good at the restaurant but for us it was dry and burnt and nasty both days. I recommend breakfast at RC Otter. What I do recommend is Going out on Randy’s boat. It is worth every penny. Would I stay here again? Depends on cost. The beach and pool were nice I just did not think the upkeep was that great. The service in the lobby was not overly friendly either.

Tween Waters is a nice resort that we always enjoy. Our room this time was in need to some repairs/upgrades. The toilet ran non stop, a light would randomly work/not work, the coffee maker needs updating. The biggest issue was the noise. Not sure if they’re renovating but we had various work being done outside our room (outside near the marina and restaurants) almost every morning. It’s annoying to be awakened nearly every day of vacation when you’d like to sleep in a little late. The rest of the resort was nice as usual.

The location of the hotel on beautiful Captiva Island is ideal. The private beach is right across the road from the hotel and there are chairs and umbrellas available for guests. We loved the 2 pool areas, the cafe/bar at the pool and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Wonderful sunset views from the beach and amazing sunrises from the marina on property. We had a fabulous time.

We loved the location of this property. The beach was wonderful. We were disappointed by the quality of our beds, the mattresses were worn out and the pillows were cheap and provided no support. We expected a better night’s sleep for the price we paid.
We stayed in the Seagrape building and enjoyed the view of the ocean. There was no maid service due to COVID- we would have liked to have a broom in our room as well as an area to rinse of our feet at the bottom of the stairs to help keep the sand out of our room!

Overall it’s a very nice place to stay especially if you love the water. Gulf beach is close, 2 pools, wave runners, kayaks, boat rentals, etc.
Some of the rooms could use updating/improvements. The bed in the suite was horrible and felt like it has been there for 20 years. The refrigerator took a long time to cool out items.
The view from our balcony of the bay is great.

We’ve been here a number of times and mostly really enjoy our stays. The room we had on this last trip was not great. The air conditioner is not powerful enough to cool the room well. The coffee maker and small refrigerator should be updated as well. The room wasn’t cheap and it was a little disappointing. The resort overall is very nice and a lot of fun. The Old Captiva House restaurant is excellent every time.

Good stay, a couple of flaws.
Rooms were spacious and clean, although the exterior of the building itself was outdated. Great experience with the quality of staff at the spa and the restaurants. Biggest issues were there was no fresh coffee available before 7:30 am and the "serenity" pool that was supposed to be relaxing and quiet was overtaken by kids, people bringing their drinks into the pool, throwing the football around in the pool, etc.

We’ve stayed here a few times. Unfortunately this time we didn’t have a great room. We were in the Palmetto building and had a bay view which was nice. The room was a little dirty, the floors not being swept. The air conditioning unit kept the room just cool enough and it wasn’t overly hot outside. The safe in the room was broken and the small refrigerator seemed to struggle to keep cold. The service is always good throughout the resort and staff generally friendly and helpful. Our previous stay, we had a much nicer room but overall still enjoyed the trip.

Tween Waters did an excellent job of making us feel safe for a mid-May weekend, with temperature check in the car as we drove in, and only 1 family at a time allowed in the office. All staff on property wore masks. Was told they leave a room empty for 2 days now between check-ins. Food was good in both restaurants, and loved free bikes and kayaks. Great location, "tween" the bay and the sea and walking distance to the village. Beautiful sunsets and stars on the beach side. Great view of the bay and mangrove island from our screened balcony. Property is old - about 90 - and has been upgraded but don't expect modern/upscale. Room was a good size and clean and liked screens balcony with table and chairs. This is Old FL Island Casual - perfect for a relaxed getaway.

The rooms and property are in desperate need of an update. My family was very disappointed with the quality and cleanliness of the room. There was paint peeling off the interior doors, a nasty stain on the carpet by the dresser, the dresser had grey dust globs all around the side - filthy, the sliding door was off track and hard to open and close, the shower didn’t properly work, the bathtub porcelain was chipped, their was a lizard in the shower, overall the room felt like a dirty low class motel. They charge resort fees daily but are hesitant to give you pool towels and you must pay an additional 20 a day if you would like to have a lounge chair or umbrella on the beach. Luckily we enjoyed are trip despite the lousy room and property. We were able to do this by staying in the room as minimal as possible. Completely overpriced and disgusted.

Needs some cosmetic attention. The pictures on Expedia of the property are obviously old. Mattresses were ok but not nice. TV. Had a line running through the screen. The doors to the rooms have Windows in them allowing the bright lighting on the balconies leading to the rooms to keep your room well lit at night. Food was good. Staff was good. Just needs some better up keep

Great vacation spot
We had a great stay. The staff is very pleasant, and the food and drink was exceptional. Old Captiva House was phenomenal, the entertainment at the Crows Nest was a lot of fun, and the emporium boutique had a great selection of interesting items. We didn’t take advantage of the bikes and kayaks but they were available for others. There are two lovely pools, one is serenity pool for quiet relaxation both were heated and well attended. It represents great value for the price.

The rooms are tired even though they were cosmetically updated. Room service was just ok, they forgot to replace items were used. We enjoyed the restaurant and pool. It was nice to have a waiter while we relaxed to bring us food and drinks. Tennis courts are great and it's nice you have lights for nighttime use. Registration area is also worn and could use an update since it is the first impression. I love that each room has a view.

I didn’t like the fact that I booked this hotel because it is pet friendly . When I checked in the lady said that I should have call the hotel to let them know about the puppy. There is no note in Expedia saying that people should call Tween Waters to let know about the doggie. They charged us a double fee for the dog because of this . First time it happens and we always try to book hotels that are pet friendly .

Real nice to have bikes, canoes, kayak etc right there for free. I would have liked a map of the property that was bigger and had pools; bars, restraunts spa, marina clearly marked wiyh hours of opertion. By the time we figured most out it was time to go. Rooms were a tad outdated but they were quite clean which is all I care about. We were at beach and pool all day anyway.
Staff was very helpful and courteous. Will go back next year.
