We loved our stay at Waikiki Beachcomber hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean and afforded lovely views of the ocean snd the Diamond Head. We enjoyed watching fireworks from the comfort of our room. There are excellent dining options nearby, including Stix - a food court that we frequented. There is a nice cafe inside the hotel to get breakfast, a smootie, or a cup of coffee. The hotel is very close to the beach and other atteactions. Getting an Uber/Lift ride was super easy. We stayed at this hotel in 2009, again in 2023 and loved it! It's a great alternative to the pricier options right on the beach. We had a great view, just book for a room on a high floor.

I have stayed here before and I will stay here again. So the rest is just info.... It is a bit expensive for the amenities given. There is an additional charge of $40 per day for pool upkeep (and towels, which they run out of by 11am). Parking is an additional $50 a day which they don't mention when you park. Just a heads up!

Always great but need more info on rooms
I'm always thrilled with my stay here. We usually visit 3 times a year. I realized I've been booking ocean view rooms but am not always given an equally equivalent room as far as view. I cannot seem to see how to book to ensure we get a high floor with the least obstruction.

Great Location
This property is in a great location. Only one block to get to the beach and close to lots of good restaurants and shops. The Tropical Acai Bowl from the Hawaiian Aroma Caffe located in the lobby was so good I had it three mornings in a row. My room was comfortable and had the amenities I needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, it's on the main street on Waikiki right across the from the beach!
Customer service is hit or miss depending on who you talk to. They made me choose between paying to use a microwave or not feed my infant.
They called my room twice and woke up my napping infant TWICE after we told them not to... We got very little sympathy for our complaints.
The pool is FREEZING, even when it's hot outside... everyone is always in the hot tub. Lastly, their partnership with the cafe next to the pool is poor. The cafe does not honor the voucher given by the hotel to Expedia VIP members. I'm sure I'm not the first to complain, so...
Great for most groups I'm sure who might not experience most of what I did, but some things like the pool and cafe treatment are poor overall.

The hotel has the perfect Waikiki location and a decent pool deck. The only downside is that the ocean-facing rooms get a lot of noise from the air conditioners at the International Marketplace when you are on the decks or the sliding door is open. It would be nice if the hotel also offered beach chairs for their guests (as the Hyatt does -- though the Beachcomber is significantly less expensive for the same great location).

Average property for Waikiki. Very disappointing to book an ocean view room and get “upgraded” to a non ocean view room. Probably won’t return based on that alone.

Truly enjoyed the helpfulness of James Speight, the concierge. He was able to hear and understand my wants and needs. He got me hooked with a massage that very first day so that I was more relaxed and ready for the adventures that awaited me. He was helpful in recommending little hidden gems in restaurants. Absolutely enjoyed the Poke!

Great location just back from the sea and very central. The only negative is $47 per night 'resort fee'. This is not a Resort - its a normal and decent hotel with the standard facilities you expect. Resort fees like this are simply price gouging and unfair. Spoils an otherwise good hotel

Overnight Waikiki Super Stay
This hotel was about near perfect in the Waikiki Beach area. Everything met our needs. The room, the staff and also being able to extend our stay for a few more hours before we left Hawaii. Thank you. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Our one week stay was great - the breakfast vouchers saved us a lot of money and the food was very good. Ocean view room was very nice and maid service was also good. One housekeeper even left a thank you note for the money we left every day on the pillow-that was a first for me. Short walk to the beach and ABC store close by for snacks and liquor. I would stay there again.

Fabulous - if you like roosters!
Fabulous location for being in the middle of everything. Bring earplugs as the rooster likes to give you a morning wake up call. Staff was fantastic. Breakfasts in the cafe were delicious. Rooms are nicely updated Bedding was a 4 out of 5 for comfort in my opinion. Fairly basic comfort. Pool and hottub were lovely - very sunny!

This property is conveniently located on the middle of the strip. Beach access is right across the road. Staff are lovely and the rooms are clean and modern. This was our 2nd stay at this hotel and we will definitely stay again.

The only issue I had with our stay is that the AC is motion activated, even at night. So if you like to sleep at a certain temperature, the AC will auto shut off and reset causing you to get up and set the temperature again.

The place was very nice, pool was a bit lack luster, looks nicer in the pics.
Was VERY expensive for what it was. The view from our room was goegeous though.
We had to pay extra on top of our booking for some reason at Check in which was not budgetted for and made the place $700 per night in the end!

From the fifth floor there was poor ocean view. From the lanai there was constant street noise and for this reason the sliding glass door could not remain open. There was no restaurant in the hotel other than a small cafe and a beer bar. The shower would not drain on each use, leaving two or more inches of water in the basin. The TV did not show any information about the hotel and the online checkout did not work. The hotel was not up to caliber I expected.

Great location! You can be prepared for some load drumming and music around the property if you go early to bed. The lady we checked in with was very nice! We wish you could set the AC on a little cooler temps at night, but that was not possible!

The hotel is well situated, you can walk everywhere downtown. The lobby looks good and the staff is nice. Our room was comfortable and clean. It can get a bit noisy at night if there’s live music at the pool or lots of people on the main street.

Average hotel, below-average "resort" with minimal amenities (small pool, minimal fitness area, poorly reviewed restaurant), but excellent staff. An average hotel masquerading as a resort. Relatively long walk to beach through traffic. First time in Waikiki, which did not match our expectations, so we may have expected too much from this hotel.

No such thing as valet parking
Valet parking was not available. I was given poorly drawn instructions to park in a public garage. I ended up parking in the wrong garage. So I had to get my car, pay $6 to get out of the wrong garage and park in the new garage which is still $45 to park overnight. This happens so often that they even have a code to use to reimburse guest for parking in the wrong garage. If valet parking isn’t always available, this should be disclosed. This whole process took over an hour to get straightened out. I walked to Duke’s for dinner and the guest at that Outrigger pulled right in to valet parking with no issues.
The bathroom had several hairs in it. The room was very small. The carpet in the hallway has stains. I had to wait 9 minutes for an elevator the day of checkout (the best day of this hotel stay) because they were all full. I was very disappointed with this hotel stay. I stayed at 2 other hotels during this trip to review them and this was definitely the worst one. I will NOT stay at this hotel again and will definitely write about it in my travel blog and social media. If your staying in this area, stay at the Outrigger across the street, they truly have valet parking.

The staff were so attentive! Loved the cafe at the bottom of the hotel, and I loved that it was a calmer hotel amongst the chaos of Waikiki Beach. I would definitely stay there again.
