The staff, bar, pool and exterior amenities were excellent not to mention the picturesque views.
Our bathroom vanity was a pedestal so there wasn't much room to keep items in there. The shower head and water pressure were "sub-subpar" and the glass only went halfway so water got on to the floor each time. Also, our bathroom ceiling looked like it had amateurish repair done from a previous leak above.
The Fish House restaurant on site was not even a remotely decent experience. We had the crab bisque soup, shrimp & grits and mahi tacos. The food was bland or 0 out of 5 stars. The server could have made it a better experience but she did not have a pleasant attitude and screwed up our order. On top of that she did not bring us a beverage that was requested twice and did not refill our other beverages despite requesting it. I took the opportunity to leave the server a note on the back of our receipt. I hope she learned from it.
If it were not for hotel staff (including room service), interior bar staff, shuttle bus/staff (our driver was awesome),location, views, and pool/hot tub, I would give this resort experience a 1 out of 5.

Best bed in shower I have used it a long time :)
This place was amazing. I read a bunch of reviews before I booked and it was about 70/30 - 70 being the good. I had two spinal surgeries within 2 months and that was 2 months before we stayed here. My biggest concern was how comfortable the beds were.
We stayed in room 226 it was a double Queen standard with a balcony and harbor view. The beds were the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I am 95% that this bed has a pillow top. I am a person who only sleeps 3-4 hours a day because of pain in my back. I had the best deepest sleep that I have had in about 10 years. I slept for 9 hours and woke up so amazingly rested and happy and no pain.
Now for the bathroom. Very cute decor and the shower was awesome. It has a rain shower heads and the water pressure was heavenly. I could have stayed in that shower for an hour.
Room is a little small, but beautiful. The balcony was great it overlooked the harbor and the swimming pool. The decor in there was so happy and beachy.
The negatives were the room at times smelled like sewage. I later found out it's just the smell of the harbor. I had some room spray and that took care of the smell. Also I wish they would have a fan in the bathroom to use during showering.
The property here is so beautiful. They have two swimming pools, a huge hot tub and several fire pits with lawn chairs that you can sit next to with a view of the harbor. It's very romantic at night. The fish House restaurant was just okay. Pricey and mediocre food.

This was a great place to stay. It's in a great location and the view is beautiful on the harbor. You can see downtown Charleston from the resort. They also had a shuttle that took us to downtown Charleston which was awesome. The hotel had a heated pool and we throughly enjoyed it. The heated pool made up for the fact that none of the hot tubs were working but the pool was like bath water and so nice. The resort had an oyster roast with live music when we were there. It was a really nice place to stay. Loved and and would love to stay here again.

The stay was nice. It was a little loud but we stayed during New Years so I doubt it is typically that loud in the early AM hours. We are going to be back in the spring and are excited to walk around more and enjoy the resort when it isn’t so cold.

We had originally booked Harborside, but upon arrival we were offered an unbelievable upgrade at their sister resort, Beach Club next-door. Both resort hotels were amazing. Facilities, staff, cleanliness, etc were all awesome! Cannot wait to go back!

Great Stay - Away from the downtown crowds
Excellent stay. We love the free shuttle to and from the downtown area (not have to worry about the parking space/fees). The view was very nice from the balcony. Watching big ships, little ships, boats was fun for the kids.

Charleston Harborside Resort
We enjoyed our stay. The location has great views, Christmas decorations were beautiful the ice rink looked great with Christmas decorations, the food at the restaurant was very good and the staff was very helpful. However, the heat did not work in our room.
55 was a little chilly.

Nice place - loud kids
3 kids across the hall....parents who left their door open starting at 7am....patience was tested to say the least.

was pretty but not really a hotel. unfortunately it was a cold night and the heat never came on. finally got another room. no restaurant just a bar with bar food. really not worth the money and then having to go back inside for special checkout ticket to leave parking lot was the last straw

This was a pleasant resort to stay. Very clean, conveniently located near attractions, with easy access and friendly staff. However, the on-site breakfast restaurant was disappointing, being quite expensive with limited food choices. The dining area was uncomfortable due to a lack of heating, especially considering the cold weather outside.

Great setting. Nice facility. Very convenient location.
This was our fourth visit. Each time with think less of the place. It’s out of date. You can’t get Netflix or other streaming on the TV. The tvs themselves are puny. The plastic (not glass) containers for drinking are the cheapest we have ever encountered. The towels seem to keep shrinking in size. They need more electrical connections for all our equipment, phones, watches, tablets, laptops. Some of the staff are very knowledgeable, others, pleasant but not able to help.

I researched Charleston hotel options for hours before
making a final decision for my first visit to the area. Initially thought we wanted to stay in historic Charleston for convenience. Glad we did not. Everything about this resort deserves 10 stars. Excellent staff! Our room was wonderful...very clean and comfortable. Had a beautiful view of Charleston harbor and downtown from our balcony. The sunsets from our balcony and the rooftop bar were an added bonus. Only a 15 min trip on the hotel shuttle to and from downtown was available hourly. The drivers were very helpful with directions and suggestions for dinner. Just for fun, we opted for the harbor taxi twice as the dock was a short walk on the pier at the resort. Fun boat crew and got to see a dolphin. :-)

Dumpster view, no room service/food, $100 pet fee
I booked the stay on hotels dot com and while it stated it was dog friendly I was not informed it would cost an additional $100 for the dog until I showed up on the property and had no choice.
We were given a tiny room that faced the back of the hotel which is fine considering we were on the lower end of the prices. But when we opened the balcony door it looked out on two dumpsters, and a cart carrying dirty dishes from breakfast. And of course it smelled like dumpsters. First of all I’m not sure who decided this area should be visible from luxury hotel rooms, let alone assign a guest this room without asking or providing a deep discount. I’ve never even seen this level of disgust from the window of a basic box hotel on the side of the highway.
Next I go to plug in my phone charges and there is visible space between the wall and outlets with massive amounts of dust between. See photo below.
We go out to the beach bar in the back to get some food. Two-thirds of the menu is blacked out leaving a chicken wrap and a salad. I take the kids and dog to the beach. We come back hungry and call for room service and we are told it does not exist. I use Instacart and after two hours of waiting walk out to the front gate to meet the driver while my kids are hungry and asleep.
I complained to the front desk and the woman there was so nice. A manager came out and yes mam’d me but literally did nothing else.
This was a $400 room plus $100 for the dog.

The room and the grounds were lovely. The bed was surprisingly uncomfortable. It sloped down at the side and I had to sleep in the middle to not feel as if I would roll off. Breakfast was good; we went hours prior to checkout with the plan to return to our room after breakfast and grab boxes of leftovers from our room fridge. When my friend got back to the room (still an hour before checkout time) the cleaning people had thrown everything out and were already cleaning the room. I could understand throwing things out left in the room past checkout time but doing so beforehand is not a good policy.

Beautiful setting, overlooking the bay. Amazing accommodations, reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised by our meal at the onsite Restaurant. The free shuttle into town was a major plus. My wife enjoyed the heated outside pool.

This was a poor choice for a simple overnight stay. The price/value ratio was not good, in part because the facility offers lots of amenities that a traveler staying one night cannot use, but for which such a traveler must pay. Staff was nice, the place was clean, the room was unremarkable, restaurant was good, but a room and a meal for $450 was just not a very good deal.

Needs an updating. There are 1/4” cracks in the front door that lets the light in from the hallway. The AC sounds like a jet engine-it literally wakes you up. The $12 frozen machine Daiquiri was the consistency of baby food… weird. The rest is as expected; yucky throw pillows, Velcro bed skirts that come undone, the bathroom has shutter doors; quaint but not too private, outlets are in inconvenient spots, etc, I did like the two free drinks token from the store, pools are nice, good walking areas, many nice attractions nearby, shuttle to town is a nice touch…

Loved the views from our balcony, the harbor, sunsets, Charleston. Enjoyed watching all the boats and saw dolphins near the pier. The front desk staff was very accommodating, friendly. The resort needs to be updated. The sliding bathroom door was awful. Need grab bars in the bathtub area. Furniture & decor old. Housekeeping dept below average.

Birthday getaway for my wife...
Perfect place for a getaway. Do as much as you like or as little as you would like. Excellent food in the area of Mount Pleasant and at the Resort. Sceneries that are so serene. All of the staff was friendly and professional; let me not forget helpful. My wife and I enjoyed the experience. Definitely coming back to visit again.

Beautiful resort, the view is incredible. (be sure to request harbor side and balcony). Everyone of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and the resort were very clean. My only complaint is that there is no on site place for breakfast, you have to walk to restaurant (which is expensive).

Spent 2 nights while visiting family. Room was comfortable and clean with basic amenities. The staff was very nice. Great views of the harbor. Bar food /snacks were not good, just microwaved junk. Breakfast at Fish House was okay.

The water taxi. You got to see yachts. Dolphins. The beautiful water. And it dropped you off in the heart of downtown. Where you can shop, explore the market, various restaurants, bars. And if you miss the last water taxi you can take the shuttle back to your hotel.

Very loud air system. I would make sure they have fixed this problem before you stay here or you won’t be sleeping at night- plus it’s annoying during the day.- loud and annoying noise was so bad we could barely sleep. We loved the pool area and seating around the fire pit in the evening- great outdoor music- we loved it so much we ate outside at the hotel both nights. The hotel needs some TLC-paint- fix closet doors- new TVS. I would request a high floor room. The staff was nice. We loved the ferry to Charleston- just take note it’s $10 one way or $14 per person round trip also the trip back to the hotel is about 30/45 mins because of other stops.

Booked last minute for one night as I was passing through the area…and I didn’t want to leave. Issue when I arrived with my reservation but they ended up upgrading me as a courtesy. Amazing view and a beautiful, charming room. If I had any complaint, I was very confused by dining availability for breakfast. Thankful also for the map to figure out the property layout.

I did not like that the AC was so loud in my room that i couldn't hear my tv, and when it shut off it would make a loud crank noise that sounded as if someone was breaking in the door. ...so... be hot or be awaken every 10 /15 by noise???!!!!

The property was quiet and safe with convenient parking lot. The property had a lot of amenities and a perfect spot within miles of downtown Charleston and surrounding dining. The restore needs a bit of improvement but the place was clean and service was excellent. Nice quiet space for a little getaway.

It's all extremely out dated. The room chairs and rug is totally dirty and has been well used. The bathtub drain didn't work. The AC dripped all day and night. The toilet leaked therefore all the towels we used to wipe up all the leaking issues. The elevators were slow and sketchy. Definitely just a 2 star hotel.

Great stay at Harborside! The room was lovely, comfortable, & had a good view of the pool & harbor. Enjoyed coffee on the balcony in the mornings. Breakfast food was great at the Fish House. And loved the pool and poolside service.! Would definitely come back!

Relaxing / Island Atmosphere
3 night stay. Great location with outstanding amenities. Staff was excellent. The only complaint was the upkeep of the property. Outside is great. The inside needs painting and new finished caulking along baseboards with new carpet. This would make a lot of difference for the look of the place making it look cleaner and more attractive.

The room had a mini fridge and tv in the giant built in console but no microwave, so we couldn't pop popcorn. The trash bins have no liners and it's gross thinking about what previous guests may have put in them without liners. The shower had zero water pressure and seemed like it could use a good soak in.vinegar to clear it out. Bathroom was tiny in our room. There are also hardly any electrical outlets so good luck trying to charge multiple devices. I feel like for the price and the fact that they tack on an extr resort fee, the room was meh and not worth it.

Beware of room 229! There is a shockingly loud noise 2-3 times an hour, at random times. It sounds like a gun going off or door being slammed. Contacted front desk 3 times before they sent someone. They were obviously aware of the problem saying the ac unit needs to be replaced. Luckily we did not spend much time in the room but it is very distrubing noise as it makes it difficult to sleep or relax in the room. They finally offered to move us into another room the evening before we were checking out, which was pointless to pack and move to pack and leave. The resort itself was great otherwise. The pools were nice & offering s’mores kits for the fire pits was really nice.

The room was right next to the elevator and ice machine, which was very loud between people congregating outside the elevators to talk. And there was a lot of light coming in from under the door so bright that I had to put towels under the door to block it out. There were constantly random loud booms, and the air conditioning was extremely loud that it woke me up every night. The TV was crooked and the screen was very pixelated. It wasn’t even enjoyable to watch TV. The only good thing about the room was the balcony outside was nice.
