Fire alarm went off at 10:30pm. All guests had to vacate the hotel, many in their pajamas, and stand in sub freezing temps and high wind.
After 15-20 minutes of standing in the cold guests began to enter the lobby as it had become clear there was no fire, but guests werent yet allowed to return to their rooms. The hotel staff couldnt turn off the fire alarm so guests had to endure the piercing sound of the alarm in the lobby.
The cause for the alarm was a sprinkler that went off in a 2nd floor room, soaking the guests in that room including two very young children. Their parents had them wrapped in towels in the lobby to attempt to dry them. They were shivering.
The hotel couldnt shut off the sprinkler, either, so water came through the 1st floor hallway ceiling like a waterfall.
Guests finally returned to their rooms around 11:30pm, despite no announcement from hotel staff. But to make it to the staircase guests had to walk through the waterfall. I, like everyone else, got soaked.
Then, at midnight as i had just dozed off to sleep my room phone rang. A hotel staff person said there was a noise complaint against my room. I said i was sleeping and in the room alone. He replied by saying he made a mistake and called the wrong room.
An awful experience all around. However, i stayed at the hotel last year and had a fine time.

I was expecting something nicer because it was pricier than other stays. Coffee was cold. Toaster did not work well. Rooms were big and bed comfortable but evidence not cleaned well. Nor a good experience for the price

At midnight the fire alarm in the hotel went off. It was very noisy. Someone must have lit a cigarette in the hotel room. The hotel is conveniently located near the highway. I like the service in this series of hotels.

our favorite place to stay in Waynesboro
There was no one at the check in desk when we arrived as clerk was working alone and delivering towels to a guest room we had to wait 10 Min for her to return and get checked in. The desk clerk apologized for being away but she was working without help and doing more than her job to make guests comfortable

Overall a good experience. Great location and Dining within walking distance.
Only thing we didn't like is the lack of Bar soap in the Bath. Citrus soap and lotion dispensers in the Shower so better bring your own.

Nice hotel
Nice low key hotel. Check in was quick and the desk clerk was pleasant and helpful.
The beds are comfortable but the rugs felt a bit damp. We turned the temp up a bit to dry them out.
They use refillable soap dispensers in the bathroom but they don’t work very well so I would recommend bringing your own.
Overall we had a nice visit and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Clean, quiet, comfortable and conveniently located to Skyline Dr and Blue ridge parkway. Restaurants and stores within a mile. Excellent breakfast. The perfect overnight stay on our road trip.

The woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful. She recommended a great restaurant. Great personality.
The rooms were barely clean and outdated. In need of serious upgrades. Bathroom shower was dirty from years of use and all carpets in lobby and room looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in months. We needed a quick stop on our road-trip and usually have great experiences at Best Westerns.

Wish it had been better
The property needs upgrading. The HVAC unit is out dated and turns on and off throughout the night, waking you up.
The bathroom is in need of remodeling. The floor and tub floor were slippery.
The walls are thin and we heard the neighbors TV late in to the night and early in the morning.
We switched hotels for our second night.

We were placed in a handicap room on the first floor across from the elevator, so it was a bit noisy. We brought a pet that is not accustomed to people outside our door, so she barked when folks used the elevator. The a/c is a stand alone unit for each room that was loud when it ran. The breakfast was basic but did offer a variety.

This is a very nice hotel. The staff we had contact with were very friendly and efficient. The room was very nice and clean and beds were comfortable. We were very happy with our stay here. For a pet friendly room it was VERY nice! The breakfast was excellent with eggs and sausage and lots of other choices.

Property was very convenient to interstate travel. Surrounded by mutiple restaurants and shopping. Very clean. It’s definitely a older hotel that’s been refurbished and may not be up to date for some travelers. For example there were no charging ports by the beds. Had to use an outlet across the room. A minor inconvenience but important to some. Would stay again. Reasonable. Did not use the complimentary breakfast so cannot comment on that.

The property has a few nice amenities, especially the indoor pool (though it was a bit cold). The continental breakfast was pretty good. Our room was clean. The bathroom wasn't the biggest, but it sufficed. 4.3/5 stars

Stayed in the first floor handicap room with the walk-in shower. Ice, snacks just down the hall - very handy. Would not been happy if had to go up or down a floor to get ice like from the 2nd or 4th floors.
Breakfast had a very good and tasty selection and was well presented. Lady preparing food was very nice and helpful.
THIS COMMENT, FOR HANDICAPPED, IS IMPORTANT:
This shower arrangement WILL NOT work for wheelchair users. Hose holder is too high (est 8ft high) for anyone to utilize; one is needed lower so that someone sitting on the bench can reach. Spend some money and obtain one with a slip rod so that the shower nozzle can be adjusted.
Turn on/off handles are at the opposite end of the bench which will be impossible for a bench sitter to adjust.
Bring in a wheelchair bound person and have them test out what is there now and then have them give advice.
Was bringing a wheelchair friend originally so observed how the shower arrangement would have been difficult for them.

It was worth the price we paid. The view outside the room with mountains was beautiful. Checking in was quick. Breakfast was nice. No knocking on the door at early hours for housekeeping was a plus. Definitely will stay here again.

Too much money for the accommodations
I don't expect all that much from run of the mill hotels for overnight stays, but I also don't expect to pay $302 for a rundown room in need of a bathroom gut, new carpet and curtains. Breakfast was par for this type of hotel, but it should have been hot. I was hoping for better for the money like the Holiday Inn in Morgantown WV. That place was a lot nicer for $243 which I thought was a bit high but after the Best Western Plus it seems cheap. Should be named the Best Western Minus.

Overall everything was acceptable. It’s difficult to sleep in the daytime since the curtains do not close to block the light from coming in. The low-level lighting in the room was nice but the option to make the room bright with an additional light would have been nice. Was not able to use the room heater, it smell too bad. My girlfriend was sneezing a lot from something in the room and lastly, The floor in the tub had a creaking sound when you walked on it. On a more positive note the bathroom was nice and the water was hot. Nice and comfortable king size bed. In addition, breakfast was very good!

Ok but not worth the price
Considering that the price for this room was almost $200/night we were very disappointed. Air conditioner was noisy and didn't really cool the room, bathroom was super outdated, there were holes in the wall and the tub faucet leaked. The elevator was noisy and super slow. The service was great and staff was very friendly but they really need to remodel and update the rooms to approach being worth what they are charging.

The room was not clean.The drawers were not empty after the previous guest and so obvious not sanitised. The shower floor was dirty. The bathroom looked so unpleasant. We still had to stay in a room because my son was not feeling good and needed rest. If that was not the case I would have got into another better hotel. First time booked with Expedia and worst experience.

When we arrived around 10:00 p.m., the elevator was out of service. Thankfully, our rooms were just on the second floor.
The real fun started at 6:00 a.m. that morning, when the fire alarm went off for no reason. Then, it happened the next morning at 4:30 a.m.! Needless to say, we came home tired from a lack of sleep.
When checking out, I said that I hoped they got it fixed. I was given no apology or explanation. I feel that we were entitled to a discount.
We won't stay here again.

Good place to stay
The Best Western Plus is a decent option for a stay in Waynesboro. The room featured a fridge, microwave, HD TV with lots of channels and free Wi-Fi. A major downside was the walls – they are paper-thin, even by hotel standards. The complimentary breakfast was good and included eggs, bacon, sausage patties, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, bread, yoghurt, bananas and apples.

Stay was okay, but towels were extremely cheap, like the ones you would get at a $50 hotel, not $150. We could not regulate the heater/cooler to turn off or go to auto; it was very loud. Same with bathroom fan, no switch to turn it off.
