Subject: Feedback on Stay at Waikiki Marina Resort at During our stay from January 10th to 17th, we experienced a power outage on January 12th, coinciding with my grandmother's 91st birthday celebration. She is wheelchair-bound, and the outage disrupted our plans and safety measures. Additionally, the loud alarm near her room forced us to relocate her, compounded by the non-operational lobby elevator, which posed challenges in navigating alternative routes. With 16 family members across five rooms, the outage disrupted our ability to spend quality time together, especially during significant events like scattering our father's ashes and celebrating our uncle's 70th birthday. The outage also caused practical inconveniences, such as dead or low phone batteries, prompting us to purchase power packs for our devices.

3 out of the 6 days we were there there were power outages on the property and in our unit. Which left us without air conditioning during the day, no pleasant when it so hot out. Also were unable to make lunches which we had gone to the grocery store to buy food for and had to spend extra money going out to eat.

The outside is beautiful! Waterfalls and nice tiles on the floors. The rooms were well-insulated against noise from other rooms. The kitchen was surprisingly well-stocked with everything you would need to make your own meals during a week-long stay.
The bad: having no front desk staff from 10pm to 8am at a luxury resort is ridiculous, especially considering how hard it is to figure out where to go when you arrive in the middle of the night. The building is a bit of a labyrinth that takes some getting used to.
Our shower's water temperature regulation was broken (hot water kept going cold randomly), which we mentioned to front desk staff. It was never fixed during our week long stay. Front desk said we'd be entitled to fresh towels on the fourth day of our stay, but it appears you have to ask for them to actually get them. The front desk only has one worker, so it's always really busy.
While we were there, they were having an abundance of electrical issues that required a total of 15 hours of power outages. As a result, half of the shops in the building were closed during our stay, due to them being food vendors and needing refrigeration to sell food.
Valet parking was $45USD which was ridiculous to us considering how much it costed to stay there. The cheapest parking nearby was $27USD, but they don't tell you there's cheaper parking unless you ask. My husband also almost got mugged in the cheaper parking garage.
Won't stay here again.

Our room was clean and appropriate for our stay. Unfortunately it was facing the street and was very noisy, especially at night. There was a lack of restaurants after there was a major power outage. One restaurant never did open up for the rest of our stay which was 4 days!

It's a big room with a full kitchen, king sized bed, pull out sofa and big balcony. Extremely comfortable bed! And I loved how the a/c didn't get too cold or too warm. We slept so well!

Nice big balcony. Good location near Waikiki beach. Heart of Waikiki is walkable but public transit is also nearby. Shopping of all kinds nearby. Cheap uber rides to places to hike etc. Room was adequate & as expected. Hotel has lots of amenities. Hilton lagoon is next door and accessible, not as busy as the beach & easier on the feet. Hotel staff was responsive to any needs we had!

Remodeled, clean and comfortable. Convenient location in Waikiki. Got roped into a timeshare talk for Wyndham to get your discounts to see Arizona memorial and aday's tour of most of Oahu. Expedia needs to make this known.

Like that it was a studio apartment style with plenty of room and a kitchen with full fridge if needed.
Didn't like that we chose city view but it was incredibly noisy would never choose again as the hotel clearly occupies the lower floors of the complex.
Didn’t like the hardsell you get to attend a seminar as part of Wyndham Vacation Club which is a timeshare and not mentioned anywhere on the expedia site when booking this property. Also Cinammons was a disgrace. Staff were uninterested, wiped the table of bird droppings the wiped the menu with same rag. On the flip side Aroma Caffe staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The day we arrived the staff member on duty was clearly overwhelmed.

The major issue was the traffic noise level, sirens, motorcycles, and truck. Very difficult to sleep. I had to use my Bose headset.
After 8 pm, no bell man service.
Only one small service elevator.
If that breaks down, you need to carry all large suitcases up the stairs. Valet guys are no help.
They do not offer to help. So elderly and handicapped people beware especially after late hours. Sign posted no luggage or strollers on escalators. It did not matter there were shutdown
temporarily during peak hours of check out.

Everyone we encountered working was so extremely nice and helpful. The room was spacious and clean..we loved the kitchen. My only complaint is that on the 3rd floor, city side it gets quite noisy at night. Other than that the location is perfect!

Hawaii trip
My husband and I had a good 4-night stay in the hotel. Everything was smooth from checking in to checking out. A bonus is that the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. It’s our first time in Hawaii and everything is walkable from Ilikai. The staffs were very friendly and helpful.

This is an old property but nicely maintained. The Hilton next door has many more amenities but the selling point for this property is the kitchen in each room. Negative -- they close the pool early and don't have enough umbrellas for shade.

Had a bad experience with Escalator in front of the lobby. Severe people from our group were injured. You MUST DO thorough SAFETY ASSESSMENT of Escalator. Check in at 4 pm is not good. No room service ? Why ? Parking also is a big problem. You can not easily locate luggage elevator.

Loved loved loved the view of the marina. Sunset over the marina was magical, especially watching all the boats come in after sunset. Beautiful property close to everything. Would love to stay again. Studio was so great for a couple or couple of friends.

Smells old
There is a "old smell" to the room that we had to keep the sliding door open to "air" the room. The bed is also very lumpy and one of the pillows did not have that smooth feel...it was rough. The toilet has a black chip. The sofa is very old and would not want to use it as a bed. Sad to say, it was tolerable for a 2 night stay but may not be coming back.

The hotel was conveniently located in Waikiki. It wasnt far from places to eat and it's right on the beach. The downside is, it is outdated and their room service sucked. You were only allowed to change out your towels every three days, unless you paid to have them changed. You had to clean your own room and discard of your own trash until then. For the price of the hotel, I wouldve expected a lot more. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone staying longer than three days.

The room smells like mold that I have the window opening 24 hours. The room is ok it just like a three stars hotel. Nothing fancy. There is no room service for 8 days we stay here. They swapped the towels on the 4th day. Self parking is $28 a day within a block away. Otherwise valet parking is $45 a day. Public parking is behind the hotel and it $1 per hour. Park at lagoon parking is free up to 6 hours however no parking from 10:30pm-4:30am.

This 2 resorts in 1. Condos/resort rooms and the hotel rooms. Don’t wait in the wrong line as we did. We were in the resort side and got upgraded to a 2 queen bed condo with a full kitchen. They only have valet parking so beware if you have a car. Close to everything Waikiki.

Aloha! We enjoyed this resort. We had a city view more aptly called a Sunrise View. The blackout curtains were no match for that Hawaiian sunshine. Fabulous location. The Bus stopped right in front of the building. Walking distance to the beach, the marina, the shopping district and tons of restaurants. It's a timeshare & a hotel, as so many of the resorts around Waikiki. It has a full kitchen with dishes & pots & pans. It's the resort where the opening scene of the original Hawaii 50 was filmed. We dined at the rooftop restaurant for spectacular views & food. So glad we booked the Ilikai & we will book it again.

It waa very hard to find the reception for our hotel.
Everything was worth it. We had a kitchen included and we had everything we neeeded for it. Everyone was super nice, and we had the best experience with Kent. Kent was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much. I would reccomend this hotel/resort to anyone who is staying in Waikiki.

The unit is clean and has most need amenities. Close to the beach and other entertainments.
Note that this is a timeshare and is not mentioned during reservation. It is advertised as a resort.

There was no room service for the whole week were were there. We were expected to “exchange our towels” on Tuesday but we had no idea how to do it. Only basic tv in room. Teens were annoyed at that at night. Check in was in a storefront inside the hotel…took us forever to figure out what that meant exactly. Couldn’t find it for thirty minutes. Food in lobby convenience store is twice as expensive as stuff in ABC Store a block away…which is already expensive to begin with. Restaurant closed at 8 even though website said 9. Not a lot of food choices in/near hotel. And no plastic recycling even though tons of bottled waters and juices are sold daily:-/

Very clean and well maintained property. The room had a king bed, couch with sofa bed and a full kitchen. We had a very pleasant stay and would return. I would recommend getting an ocean view balcony. We had a street view and you couldn't sit on it during the day because the sun was too bright/hot.

I recently spent 3 nights here in a self-contained apartment. It was clean and tidy with kitchenware provided. Transport links are great with bus 20 and 42 close by to get you to main attractions. It is in the heart of everything with 2 pools and food cafes and shops within the complex which was handy. A great stay!!

Nice walk on the wharf and to the Hilton. Short walk to the beach. But there are rocks on the beach so swimming is not as great as Wakiki. The lagune is a nice view although tons of fish so not great for swimming.

Good location, near the beach. Close to shopping. If you are looking for groceries to take advantage of the kitchen, options are extremely limited near by.
The room was decent, nice sized balcony. We did not have the ocean view, but a city view which can be noisy.

Boardwalk with view of the marina is wonderful. It is also conveniently located and linked to Waikiki's main attractions. Stay will be perfect with higher quality control for the cleanliness of the room like coffee baskets have opened packages.

Very nice resort. Location is great and convenient.
Washer and dryers would not accept any payment to wash our laundry. Room cleaning and trash take is not available. Not a good if staying a week. Our trash was full 3 times during our 1 week stay. Both swimming pools had water that was way too warm, like a bathtub.
Although the few disappointments, this was a perfect location and clean. Would stay here again!

This is a great classic hotel with a vintage vibe. The rooms are spacious, and beds comfortable. It is nicely updated. The pool is warm and family friendly. You can walk to anything you need. We loved having a full kitchen to save money. We also really enjoyed the courtyard and frequent stops to Dave's Ice Cream. The staff was friendly and helpful. We cannot say enough good things about our stay at the Ilikai.

My first time at this resort. I spent 9 nights. Great and convenient location, walkable- close to the beach, dining, Waikiki beach, Ala Moana mall. The room was clean and comfortable. Really friendly and nice staff. Thank you Shawn for your professionalism, kindness and help! You are awesome! Highly recommend this resort! I'm going back there!

What an awesome vacation. Everyone there was as so nice and accommodating. There's a gift shop and convenience store in the complex which is so convenient. There's basket parking with in and out services and we loved that. It was an extra charge but well worth it. The lagoon and beach are right at the back of the hotel. Views are amazing of the harbor. If we ever go back we'd for sure stay here.

We liked the friendly staff at this hotel. Our condo was perfect for our needs. We would stay here again, except I would not get a city view room the next time we visit. The street noise was relentless! Otherwise, we had a great time and enjoyed all the amenities of this property. Mahalo!
