It was a great experience. Enjoyed our stay very much. We had an ocean view room. It was still quiet. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very, very accommodating and friendly. We will come back.

Impressed with The Avalon!
Very satisfied with our stay at Avalon. The ocean front room was a great choice; able to catch sunrise between the palms and see festivities on ocean Drive. Beautiful art deco style accents in the room and bathroom. The fresh orchid was a nice touch! Appreciate the mini-fridge!! Bed was comfortable. We prefer sleeping with cold a/c, wasn’t quite as cold as we like it. I should have brought my bedside fan! The little bar area is super cute, great drinks and food! I could have ordered the Bang Bang shrimp all night! Amazing. Service was excellent.

The concierge gentleman was excellent! He tried very hard to please us :) The restaurant food was AMAZING, albeit quite expensive...but we were on vacation!
The room was small, we did not mind that, but the bathroom was VERY small (maybe even against the code for space of toilet...and the shower had no grab bars, towel rack was secured at a height of over 6 feet!
A nice bathroom is really important in a hotel, even a boutique hotel. Also, there was lots of noise outside (truck deliveries and unloading) overnight. Very disturbing.
If the bathroom was updated, we'd DEFINITELY come again :)

The property definitely needs some upgrade and renovation. There's unpleasant smell in the rooms, hallways and lobby.
The bathroom and shower area has no exhaust fan to expel the odor and steam. The room is so small that can't fit a king bed.
The property is however located in a well accessible area of Miami Beach with good surroundings, shops, beach accessibility etc.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, very clean and safe. Room was small, but that's normal in these older hotels. Pleasantly surprised that the room so quiet. AC worked well. Bed was a little too firm for me. Staff provided plenty of free water bottles for fridge. Only negative is that the beach chairs are the type where you sit about 6 inches from sand in a normal chair(upright) position, we rented the loungers for $20 per day. Free breakfast was good, continental with scrambled eggs and sausage, mostly the same each day though.

Overall good service. My first room was by the elevator and off the main street and noisy. I requested a new room which was larger and no noise complaints. The safe was broken and the repairman had to fix the next day, so i got 2 free drink tickets. The free breakfast was a nice touch.

Very close to the beach and all the restaurants. Iconic car in front of the hotel and retro atmosphere. Room was clean and ok but a little noisy at night from outside (not too bad). Breakfast was convenient and nice. Front desk was very nice and welcoming. They provide beach towels and chairs. Overall nice... I would stay again.

I read lots of reviews over this property and have to say many were not the same experience that others had.
It was clean, the A/C worked fine the bed was very comfortable. We stayed at the corner beach view room and the windows were equipped with dark shades, yes it is bright around the area. We did not hear any loud outside noise after 10pm ( there is construction next door but the noise was low in the morning and done by sundown). I did wish they served pancakes and the ability to make ice coffee, but the continental breakfast is still good. The bar area is small but there is a bar bite menu and happy hour, just wish it expanded to the outside so we could hear the live music. I would give this hotel 9 out of 10. Across the beach, different choices of food near by and we had a great time!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The customer service is excellent! Julio at the front desk is amazing! He always have good smile and he took his time answering our questions , he also shared the history of this iconic hotel. Also Dario, Rosario and Carlos at the breakfast area are so nice. They all made our stay in south beach so special. The hotel is old but has the charm , it’s clean and most of all the people who work there are all so nice and welcoming to us. Breakfast is good, there are chairs and beach towels, free bottled water daily in the room. The coffee is good too! When my hubby saw the classic car in front of the hotel he already love the hotel. I give this hotel 5/5 . Their restaurant is also amazing. We ordered the bang bang shrimps, macadamia crusted snapper and the crab and herb crusted grouper all delicious! We regret not to try their key lime pie coz we are already full. Good portions of food. We will definitely come back to stay in this hotel . Thank you Julio for your wonderful service !

From the moment that we arrived, it was like walking back into a earlier time when attention to detail and exceptional service was in style.
We were greeted at check in a way that is rare today.
The room was so nice, clean and comfortable.
We had cocktails and dinner that were wonderful.
If you’re looking for a place for a memorable experience, this is the best place on Ocean Drive in the Deco District.

This hotel is one of the nicest that I've been to and well situated. The only thing I find nowadays when reserving a room is that almost all hotels now have HIGH BEDS in height instead of regular ones. Shorter people like I am and with back and severe knee pains have a hard time getting unto the bed and makes it very difficult to have a full night sleep. But the rest, excellent hotel to stay, and staff were excellent.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay! Centrally located, right on Ocean Avenue. Excellent included breakfast. Staff were phenomenal. Rooms were clean. It’s not located near the loud taverns with rambunctious parties so you can sleep well despite being on such a busy street. Dinner menu was fabulous. Beautiful nightly entertainment. We would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel was exceptionally clean, had a very comfy bed and lovely breakfast. The room was not as pictured in the ad as that must have been an updated room and we were in an older one. I would stay again, but with the expectation that my room won't be as pictured in the ad.

Mini beach chair and towels provided, breakfast daily with assorted muffins, pastries, breads, croissants, teas, coffees, cereals, juices, restaurant by night has quality seafood, beach is directly across the street, and hotel sits on a corner where cars can park, plus security sits in front hotel at night. Shower and sink could use upgrade but other than that, no complaints. No coffee machine in room. Medium sized window, can see beach and ocean drive from room. I stayed for one night only, 10/10

My husband and I stayed two nights in an ocean view room second floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was pleasantly decorated, it was also very clean with a slight smell of bleach (which I appreciate). The location is perfect with MANY restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed people watching from our window as it has perfect views of Ocean Dr as well as the volley ball courts across the street. Beach access was directly across the street as well as a CVS two doors down. We were a little worried that the music and traffic would be a problem as we were on the second floor with a fairly large window. Surprisingly we didn't hear a sound in the evenings. You do have the ability to crank the windows open slightly and enjoy some fresh ocean breeze. We highly recommend this location and will be staying here our next trip to South Beach!

We had a wonderful time in this conveniently located, beautiful art deco hotel! The room and view from the 3rd floor was amazing! The front desk staff was exceptional! We arrived early, they kept our bags for us while we explored the area, and then called to let me know our room was ready early. The restaurant and bar at the hotel was also lovely! It was a great birthday getaway for my wife! We will be back!

My girlfriends and I came to south beach for a girls trip for 4 days. We booked this hotel on a whim because it was very afforable, within walking distance to things we wanted to do and right across the street from the beach! We felt right at home as soon as we arrived, our room was ready well before check-in and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Bonuses: bottled water in room, breakfast in the morning, complimentary robes, and fresh beach towels each day. The hotel was clean!!! We would stay here again!

Great stay!
My husband and I stayed at this hotel ahead of our cruise. We arrived late on Thursday around 9p. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was extremely clean. They have kept the old charm with a modern touch. The bathroom is definitely SMALL, but clean. They have Nest toiletries, a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the morning breakfast 2 times, great amenity. Overall, great stay in a GREAT LOCATION.

Very nice location on Miami Beach. Hotel offers beach chair and beach towel which is very thoughtful ! Staffs are super friendly.
If you like night life, this hotel will be a good choice. If not, it is quite noisy. But overall we are very happy with our stay.

Located in the heart of South Beach. Very convenient to restaurants, bars, and the beach. The restaurant inside the hotel is called A Fish Called Avalon and is great. The free breakfast is a nice touch but wish it was available until at least 10:30am for us late risers on vacation. The property could use a little bit of updating but overall was a pleasant stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Avalon South Beach. Right on the main South Beach strip!! Everyone was friendly and very attentive to any needs we had. They don’t offer or have parking but directed us to a covered lot that’s by far the nicest and cheapest in the area. Ty again and we will be back.

This hotel booking was an excellent value for the cost. There is no other hotel on ocean drive that even came close to matching this price and quality at the time of my booking. Showers are hot and clean, bed cozy, staff friendly, breakfast OK for the value. You also get two free beach chairs and free towels for the beach any time you need. Staff greet you with a smile and are friendly and helpful.

It was amazing because of the staff and the location. I will definitely stay here again if I’m in south beach. The bed was firm, which was fine, but the pillows left a lot to be desired. The bathroom was slightly cramped but not enough to take away from the location and proximity to beach/nightlife. Camilo (spelling?) was the daytime manager and he is literally the best hotel employee I’ve ever encountered.

My wife and i have vacationed in Miami several times. The Avalon was by far the best place we've stayed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with a great view. We actually got our deposit back. The Avalon is now our Miami go to hotel. We can't wait to go back.

Iwe had a small issue after we checked in because the room they gave us had an old carpet witch ot was smelling not good but after we spoke to the receptionist, they were kind enough to give an updated one with hard wood floor.
Service and members staff were excellent.
Also they do provide chairs and embrella witch it'll save u 65$ .

The staff was very friendly and nice, Julio was so helpful. Our room was on the first floor facing another hotel and the entire time we were there, there were working on that hotel from powering washing the building starting at 8:30am and not ending until after 5:45pm on both days we were there. The restaurant was amazing and the service was great. The noise was probably out of the control of The Avalon and honestly we did not complain to the staff as we were only there for 2 nights.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. They accommodated an early check in which was great. Just a few hundred yards from all the action so nice and quiet at night. Happy hour cocktails a must do! Only thing it lacks is a pool but that would push prices up significantly.

The staff were welcoming—so helpful and kind. Breakfast was good. It's your typical breakfast buffet (eggs, sausage, croissants/pastries, juice, coffee, and yogurt), which is always fresh, hot, and tasty. The breakfast staff was always friendly.
The hotel is in a very convenient location. It's at the end of where the nightlife and social spots are, so it's not noisy (compared to some other hotels that are right in the middle of the nightlife, and apparently, you can hear the noise from the hotel room). The hotel had a mixture of families and younger and older crowds. It always felt safe.
The room was on the smaller side (two double beds), but was clean and equipped with a mini fridge, AC, hair dryer, and iron. Unfortunately, the bathroom didn't have a fan, so it would get hot and steamy in there pretty fast, which would heat up the entire room (so keep the AC going!). Two small complimentary water bottles were provided each day. Also, the beach is minutes away, and city bikes are available for rent right outside the hotel as well.
One BIG perk of this hotel is that it's close to CVS (less than a minute's walk... a few shops away from the hotel), which is 24 hours. Great for late-night snacks, water bottles, and all your drugstore essentials. Steps away from restaurants and nightlife. Walking distance to the clubs and bars.
Will stay here again when I visit Miami!!
