Unfortunately occupants above us had noisy children and woke us early each morning. Didn’t consider it safe because no one at check in area whenever we came in or out. Lovely unit.

What makes this place unique is that it has the charm of and old building, rooms with high ceilings refurbished to the comforts of modern times. Not luxury but practical clean. The location could not be better. The staff is professional and helpful. Erick at the front desk was welcoming and efficient.

We stayed in a comfy two-story townhouse room that had a kitchenette and outdoor decks on each floor. Loved the layout. The front desk was short-staffed the day we arrived but the one person working was as gracious as could be juggling phone calls, check-ins and queries from guests. Our room was clean, though there was a leak in the ceiling with a trash bucket underneath to collect the water on the rainy days we were there. Despite the small setbacks, the room was a fair price and I'd go back.

It is right in the center of Newport and you can walk to everything. It was great that we had parking at the hotel because it is very hard to find parking on the weekends when Newport is very busy.
The one bedroom suite was very clean and well equiped.

Enjoyed Stay
This is our second year at Newport Bay. We have enjoyed our stays off season while visiting our granddaughter at Salve Regina. Our price range fits in with November at NB. We would like to return when price is right. Paula at the front deck was very helpful.

All was wonderful. The hotel is older- and some of that showed, but was not a problem for us. Rugs could be updated, cracks in tiles etc. showed the wear and tear on the blog.

The room was absolutely spotless. Kudos to the cleaning staff! Bed was comfortable, bathrooms clean and living area warm and homey. The hotel could use some updating and the reception area wasn't very big but wasn't a big deal because we didn't spend any time there. It was a very enjoyable stay and would come back again!

This place was exactly how it's pictured on their website. The only reason I didn't give all 5 stars was because the furnishings, although in great shape were a bit dated and the mattress was horrible. I ended up sleeping on the sofa and my husband stayed in the bed. I kept on rolling towards my husband as the bed had a deep divot in the middle of the mattress. I would try this place again if they upgraded the mattresses. It's in a very convenient area of downtown Newport and is affordable. The staff were lovely and it's very clean.

This hotel is a great value! Close to everything, the location is perfect. The staff was warm and welcoming. Our room was spotless! The decor is somewhat dated and there is no TV in the bedroom, but the stone walls and wooden beams really added to the charm. We will return!

We always enjoy our stay. We have been staying there for 1x a year for many years. We have never had any issue. However on the last night of our stay we had a couple who began talking in the room above ours from about 1am till 3.
We did not call or try to notify them that they were interrupting our sleep. We did mention it at checkout and we were told to call to the desk whenever there is noise. They have someone on duty all night who would respond to our complaint. Good to know..

Unfortunately the employee who checked us in was not very nice. She spoke to me as if I did something wrong by booking with Expedia and rudely told me I had to pay 30 dollars per night for parking. The parking is not great there also.

They could not provide any extra pillows and only gave us 2 towels for 4 people. When we asked for extra towels they said they only had hand towels. They also charge for parking at their hotels! Wont be back

A wonderful place to stay!
We’ve stayed at the Newport Bay Club & Hotel every year for over 10 years now. The accommodations are comfortable and the location CAN’T BE BEAT. It’s convenient to all Newport has to offer. It suits our shopping and dining needs perfectly. We’ve tried other hotels but always come back to the Newport Bay Club and Hotel.

I will never spend another night at this overrated hotel. It’s like living in a back of a house that one’s grandparents lived in the front. No coffee pods no water and the entire rooms both up and down need a complete makeover. Simply stated how can you have a high rating if your place is 5 years out of date. Put some pictures on the halls do people can get the history of the place. As it is I will not recommend your hotel to any of my friends. It’s a cheep version of a trailer park with 4 floors.

The location at this hotel is great. It’s very centrally located to all of the main strip activities in Newport. My biggest complaint was just the comfort of the bed and noise level in our room. We had a terrible night sleep. The bed was VERY creaky (like you couldn’t move at all without it making noise) and just uncomfortable. It’s kind of a weird set up because it has a built-in headboard with a shelf and I don’t know if it wasn’t attached properly but we did ask management and they said that’s just how they are. We also could hear the people above us stomping around all night, as well lots of noises from outside. It was a nice hotel with a great location. The room was spacious with a fridge, microwave, large bathroom, and a living room. It was basically a small one bedroom apartment which I found very appealing. Unfortunately we probably got about three hours of sleep so I wouldn’t stay there again.

Paula and Mary at the front desk went above and beyond to help with places to see along with maps. Parking is a bit tight and Mary was very helpful with that along with sightseeing information. Our room faced the little side street and was very quiet.

The location of this hotel is great! It was nice to have the extra space of a living area and kitchenette. However, the furnishings (couches and bed) were very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we did not sleep a wink. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was great, but without a good night’s sleep it wasn’t worth it.

The location could not be more perfect. Everything is within walking distance. The one bedroom suite was very roomy and comfortable for our family of 4. Super clean too! Very friendly staff. My only suggestion....a tv in the bedroom. Will definitely stay there again!!!

Cleanliness and location are the two most important factors for me and this hotel gets a 5/5⭐️ for both. The room itself was absolutely adorable and felt like we were staying in a little cottage. You can’t ask for a better location. Check In/Out was a breeze. Would recommend to anyone!

The location of the property cannot be beat! However, there is no nice seating area to sit, such as a shared patio. The patio they do have is small and not inviting. Also, rooms are noisy. If you are not on the top floor, you can hear everything above you, including the words to every conversation and every footstep as if they are in the room with you. Our bed was not comfortable as it sagged in the middle.

Great spot! We stayed here one evening during our road trip through New England. It was a great location! Check-in was super quick (less than two minutes!) and friendly. Location was right in the thick of shops, the waterfront, and great restaurants! The hotel is a bit older, but has a lot of character. Be sure to stay on the 4th floor so nobody is walking above you, as the floors are squeaky wood. Rooms are older but clean. Definitely not luxurious, but clean and comfortable. The beds are very soft, so if that’s a deal breaker - be aware.

Room was a nice suite with plenty of space and large kitchen. Loved the historic wood beam features mixed with the modern upgrades. Staff polite and efficient. Very central to all that Newport has to offer for eating and shopping. Loved how elevator from room floor went straight down to Surf Club bar and restaurant. Price was well worth what they offered. Stayed in late March so not sure what summer rates are.

Great stay. Only encountered drink desk woman who was very nice, friendly, professional and welcoming. Rooms are spacious, very clean, nicely decorated, very clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again! If stayed longer than weekend would want a TV in bedroom.

Great Depending On What You Pay....
The place is perfectly located among all the best restaurants and shopping. Easy walking distance to basically everything. The bed linens, towels and surfaces of the room/townhouse was extremely clean (which really is the most important part). However, the balconies were dirty, the ceilings had missing sheet rock and water damage, paint was peeling off the walls of the bathroom, and there were a number of old stains in the carpet. We paid an extremely low price for our stay so really can't complain, but if paying the premium rate during high season there is no way we would have stayed.
