Things were comfortable and there were no problems. My only issue was the coffee is dispensed out of pump pots. When I got mine it was cold. I needed to leave so quickly there was no reason to ask the lady on duty to make more.

Amazing with custom needs!!
Just about perfect! Slightly dated but in a really great neighɓprhood. The staff went beyond normal to accomodate my food allergies. To me it was a 5 star for custom needs. Blessed Be

The shower was safe for seniors. The area was very quiet, partially because there were relatively few guests. However, because there were relatively few guests, the breakfast was mostly packaged food rather than fresh cooked eggs, sausage, etc.

The property and room were very clean. However, the bed was among the worst I've ever slept on; it felt like laying on a stack of recycled cans. The chair in the room was in rough shape and the leg extension would not go back in without having to stand up and force it closed. When I went to get a cup of coffee from the lobby area, it was lukewarm. Lastly, this hotel does NOT have a pool.

Visitor for a wedding
Cute little hotel, nice and friendly staff. The mattress was def VERY OLD and sunk down in the middle. Furniture is old and worn. But sufficient place to stay for the price. I was in for a wedding and barely spent time in the room. I would stay again. Thank you!

The property is listed as do not accept pets; I have severe allergies and after 10 mins in the room. My son says what wrong with your eyes, They were swelling- we left and i took 4 allergy pills to calm it down. When I told the very nice lady on night duty she said let me find u another room we walked in one and immediately walked out it smelled of dog poop!!!! When i mention that there website says no pets. She said no that needs to be removed we are very pet friendly! She put us in a room on the second floor . I took 2 more pills and still had to spend most of the night in my car!! That morning spoke to a manager and she said we do not allow pets - then a lady walked in with her dog. It was not a support animal because i asked . I know people sneak animals into there rooms but that is not the case here they welcome all pets ! Cats and dogs! Change ur website!

Nice Hotel, Clean and Safe
This is my 2nd stay at this hotel, it is nice and clean, its a older hotel but serves it purpose, clean and safe, the beds are comfortable, they have breakfast in the lobby so that is nice, just grabbed fruit and a poptart, no issues with my 2 day stay. I felt safe as traveled in and out my room. The hotel is 6 minutes from SIUe's campus and another 7-10 minutes to Target, Walmart, Chick-Fila and several other stores and restaurants, nice location, this will be my go to hotel when visiting my son at SIUe.

The linens were clean & room was relatively quiet. Good, safe location.
I was surprised there was no phone in the room and the TV did not work. When I asked the front desk about it, I was told, "Well, some rooms have phones and some don't." After being advised the TV in that room can be temperamental, the front desk attendant entered my room and messed with the TV but was unsuccessful in getting it to work. I was offered another room but declined because I was pressed for time. I later got the TV to work by simply changing the TV inputs via the remote (probably a training opportunity for employees).
The breakfast was more sparse than expected.

Horribly disappointed this time...
The only good things I have to say about this place is the lady that checked me in was nice and the location was great for what I needed. I travel a lot for business, but I haven't stayed here since late 2020. At that time, I had a good experience; but after this experience, I won't be back. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, and pillows were extremely flat. The room was tiny, dark and outdated. The hair dryer didn't work, the mini fridge didn't work and bathroom was dark and dingy. And the coup de gras was whoever was in the room before me must have had explosive diarrhea. It was all over the inside of the toilet and there was paper still in it that hadn't been flushed. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE & QUITE DISGUSTING

Very old hotel, need kid friendly. Breakfast was the worst!!!!!!!!! Cold Microwave biscuits, microwave sausage that was warmed up.the gravy was the hottest thing.

Very clean and quiet hotel. A little farther from the downtown core than I would normally stay, but easily accessible to restaurants and shopping with a great Mexican restaurant right across the street.

Stayed for 4 nights. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly. I have a strong bond to a local coffee shop/bakery that I visit when I’m in the area so did not have hotel breakfast but appeared fresh and have the fun make your own waffles. The only complaint is that the mini fridge did not have an adjustable temperature and all of my fruit and veggies froze and I had to toss them- but that is a hazard with mini-fridges in general. Lots of restaurant options close by and nice area. Overall a very nice hotel that I will plan to stay at in the future.

nice remodel but issues
we were on first floor and the floors seemed like they were sweating or something. floors felt greasy had to put towels everywhere to walk without shoes Humidity very high, towels did not dry for 2 days hung up in room. Room was remodeled nicely and employees were very nice. nice location

Staff was friendly, the surrounding grounds were well kept. And the rooms were spacious.
However, there was a musty smell in the room and hallway, which made me feel like the place wasn't clean. Additionally, we booked a room with a kitchenette, but it had no plates, glasses or even a single piece of silverware.
The peak disappointment was at breakfast when my wife and I found actual mold in one of the buttercups for the waffles. We cut our breakfast short.
I'm not a hardass when it comes to reviews (usually I'm too lazy to leave a review even) but these things to me really is not what I expected when I booked.

There’s one ice machine in the building and it was broken. Was able to purchase ice from gas station across the street. Booked room with jetted tub, tv swivels over to the tub. Restaurants next door. Quiet hotel. Old bed and breakfast vibes and decor. Will be returning. Very clean everywhere.

The room and the bed was so relaxing and the bathroom clean as a whistle. My only complaint was breakfast, the waffle maker was broken and the info about was not distributed to the guests.

The staff was very efficient. The room was clean and linens were plentiful. We would definitely stay here again. It's very quiet, at least when we were there. Coffee was very good, not always what you find at a hotel. Clean, quiet, easy parking. It's not a top of the line 5 star hotel, but for a mid-priced hotel it is.

The complimentary breakfast was ready a full 30 minutes before scheduled. I had an early start planned and needed to get on the road as quickly as possible. This small gesture helped me miss the rush hour traffic in St. Louis. It is a small thing, but sometimes small things mean a lot.

Soak Your Worries Away in the Tub
I know what you’re thinking - “shouldn’t I stay at that Marriott next door?” I’ve stayed at both. The Marriott was shoddy new construction and the bathroom was not clean. The Country Hearth was exceptionally clean and comfortable. And the tub. The GIANT, perfectly clean, garden tub that you can soak in WHILE watching TV after your long day of travel. Also my room was HUGE with 10ft ceilings, king bed, aforementioned tub, recliner, desk, armoire, and still plenty of room past that. Treat yourself to this tub people. You won’t regret it.

Closest reasonable hotel to the event which brought us to the area.

disappointed in manager professionalism --party had an issue with locating hotel...they were not familiar with area stopped at Marriot Hotel which was near by -- of course told no reservation under their name only other hotel they were told was the holiday inn express .....ended up driving home .... tried to call back to manager multiple times to relate what had happened and apologize..... no response from hotel. I had used them previously when booking for SIUE events and had always been pleased with service .
