My first time in Boston and I loved loved this hotel! It was beautiful! The view from my room was beautiful, very very clean and guest services were so nice and when we requested extra items for the room, they responded quickly and in a timely manner. We definitely come back!

The room we had had a strange lay out A lot of wasted space. It was clean and comfortable but the bathroom had a sliding window that opened. A little
Strange. Also the head of the bed abutted the bathroom so you could hear people in the bathroom. Not a fan of that

The hotel was beautiful, the marble, the harbor, the tub was the best amenity. The restaurants breakfast vs room service were excessively priced for a breakfast. $45 dollars for a breakfast buffet is outrageous, that much money on a breakfast per person is insane. Sadly there isn't much for breakfast nearby, but there were some upscale places within a ten minute walk that could justify their price. Alot of the gym equipment my husband wanted to use like the rower was broken.
The bar, we were sad about this one. As we wanted an outdoor place to have cocktails. If you are going to charge $20 for a cocktail it better be delicious, mine was undrinkable and overly sweet. My husband's had unavailable ingredients and got charged The same for a dirty Martini as an "exclusive beverage" The TV in our room had a guide option that remained blank and a remote that had to be decades old. The "view" was nice. But mostly mirrored images of the city, as the room sat between to bump out features. The price tag vs the amenities was truly disappointing. If this hotel were 250 a night I'd give it 5 stars. My 3 stars is quite literally for the people who made our bed everyday.

When it first opened, I thought that the Intercontinental was up there in terms of high quality Boston hotels. Since then, they've probably aged a bit while many nicer options have sprung up. The hotel is still plenty nice, but a little sterile. Rooms can be a little noise. The bar area was so loud that we needed to leave it. Parking is very expensive and you have to pick up your own car. I can't imagine that we'll return anytime soon.

My comment is as per above
I have requested for river view they gave me this view as attached no river I could see at all. And when I asked for higher floor they said I should pay $ 250 per night extra!other wise the city was clean and safe I would love to revisit Boston in future

Room was spacious, beds were very comfortable. We had great view of Fort Point Channel.
Check in attendant was very hospitable and helpful.
We really appreciated an extra cleaning of room when we returned late one night. Cleaned our room twice that day without us requesting it.
Spa and breakfast buffet were good but overpriced.
Overall great experience. Would come back. High quality hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Intercontinental Boston. The hotel is wonderful and the location is great. Service was also excellent. Great spa there too.
My only disappointment was that Expedia had confirmed a Channel view room but the hotel did not have any more water view rooms available. They said that Expedia didnt submit the reservation until later and they had already sold out of water view rooms. This is not good. If Expedia cannot correctly confirm the room that I paid for, (charging more for a water view than a city view), then I will not be using Expedia to book another vacation. There is no excuse for this misleading confirmation of a water view room only to be told they are now sold out. Expedia should not be using this kind of misrepresentation in their online booking system if the room that you are confirmed to have is not available.

The Intercontinental Property in Boston treats Expedia clients like second rate clients.
They put us in a room that had no bedside lamps (as if that was normal) without mention and a room that was having electrical issues. We were unable to notify staff that we wanted privacy without entrance into the room which made us feel unsafe. It's worth mentioning that the same room is on top of the elevators and you can hear everything.
After telling them of the deficiency they recommended I stay in the room and wait for maintenance. They eventually moved me to the same room one floor up (also had flickering lights). I am so disapointed in the Intercontinental and also Expedia that it enables second rate service and rooms for their clients.

The room we checked into was filthy the housekeeping manager said they would move us into another room and they didn’t. When I came up to the front desk their employee Zach was extremely rude to us and wouldn’t accommodate us to another room he was raging that we decided not to stay and called security on me when I tried filming his bad behaviour. This hotel isn’t 5 stars they are pretentious! This hotel is falling apart.

I booked 2 queen beds for my son & I. We were given a room w/one bed & told it was b/c I booked w/a third party agent. They could not give us another room. A rollaway wasn’t offered. I had to ask. It made the room impossibly crowded. I will never stay with them again.

This hotel is gorgeous, there was some maintenance being done on the first floor elevators but you still had access to other elevators in the conference area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One thing I was very unhappy with is the hotel ended up charging me an extra $300 in some fees. The destination fee and taxes were included in my Expedia price so I am not sure how or what the $300 was for, it is not clear in the receipt

Lots to love about this property. The location is excellent for both walkability and public transportation. Rooms and hotel are very clean. Concierge, Rob, is top notch in his information and recommendations . Things I loved and reasons I booked here: room is spacious (480sf) with good options for clothing / supply storage . Bonus - they gave more than 6 hangers. The bathroom counter has plenty of room for supplies and preparations and the lighting is good along with a make up light . Bathroom has both a separate tub and shower . The a/c easily kept up with temp changes . The bed was very comfortable . The only very slight downsides were: our bathroom sink was clogged and drained very slow. We wouldn’t remember to call about it until it was an awkward hour . Same with a shower seal issue. The shower door seal had issues and the door would leak at one corner so we had to be sure to keep the towel mat in place . There is a window between the bathroom and the living area and it has a sliding window between the two spaces . It’s cute in design but negative in function . Sound and light between the bathroom and living spaces area are shared a little too liberally . The bed is very comfortably and the bedding is nice but there is only a duvet/comforter, no sheets. We were there in July . I kept forgetting to ask for a sheet or light throw so I wouldn’t have to only have duvet / comforter or nothing . We were on the 11tn floor and it took forever to get hot water.

I appreciated the cleanliness of this hotel and the staff were accommodating and friendly. Rooms were neat and tidy. Our trash in the bathroom wasn’t taken out prior to our arrival, but we didn’t mind. It was trash. Pool is located on the second floor but we had a hard time locating it due to it being in the back of the spa and gym. Overall great stay and will be going back. It’s in the heart of downtown and we were able to get around reasonably.

Greta hotel - allowed early check in and slightly later check out. Room brilliant, very spacious, modern and well appointed. A shame the restaurant being renovated so it was temporarily in the lobby/corridor and didn’t have a good feel. Excellent gym

We were upgraded because the pool was closed. Comfortable bed but the furniture in the other room was uncomfortable. Beautiful view. Make sure to request the side away from the fire station. Best part was the seaport location.

The concierge was particularly fantastic. All of his recommendations were spot on throughout our stay, including vegetarian options, stops en route to actitivities, etc. Room service was also excellent re speed, quality of food, & service. I liked how it was close enough to walk to and from the harbor and it was around lots of things to do, The pool was pretty small for the size of the hotel, I couldnt sleep due lots of noises from outside. Overall its a okay hotel, the rooms can be updated definitely.
