Just okay
The place was clean and had a great ocean view, but the pictures were definitely taken a few years ago. Put some decent furniture and real curtains in the windows, and the place would be worth coming back

The TV did not work when we arrived. I went to the office hoping to have it resolved the next day, but it was not. Also there was a roach on the floor when we arrived. Our room was not attended to when we went away to the race track. No clean towels or coffee supplies. Bathroom door and porch door did not latch properly.

Perfect for what we were looking for
Honestly, for the price I was concerned about the cleanliness and condition of the hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly. They answered all my questions and accommodated my late check in. My only complaint, which I didn’t voice, is there was hair in the shower. We made an impromptu day trip and did not intend to use the shower, I’m sure it would have been addressed if I mentioned it. Parking was also tight but there’s nothing they can do to fix that, just FYI. I was traveling alone with 2 children and 2 dogs and I felt safe in the hotel and area. Overall, it served its purpose of a clean and safe place to sleep for 1 night and you can’t beat the view or price.

the only problem was Expedia did not let the motel know we requested a room
on1st floor, as I'm not able to do the stairs. The motel was very helpful in changing our room to first floor.

Nice Escape
Nothing fancy, took an impromptu weekend for ourselves and it was a perfect getaway. We had a small kitchen and ocean view and just a few steps until your feet hit sand. The staff was really friendly and helpful, Look forwars to staying again.

Should have booked down the street
First, should have known trouble was going to happen when the Motels sign wasn’t even lit up. Passed it and pulled into the Motel next to it. Then when I went to the office to get my room keys, I find that the office is closed with a sign that says that late check in room keys are in a box to the left. Guess what wasn’t in the box to the left? My room keys. I tried to call the number they have posted twice and no one picked up. Absolutely ruined my night and ruined my faith in small motels.

Home feel stay
I had a wonderful stay it was a last minute trip . I had low expectations of this property but I was surprised clean , quiet, safe , and the view of the ocean was beautiful I also loved the location close to everything I definitely will stay hear again only issue was the beds the bedding was clean the frames were outdated

Standard no frills motel consistent with price.
Friendly staff.
Needs better lighting outside and around property.
Lights in stairwell off and all lights off on entrance sign. This at 10 pm last night and all lights at 5:30am today.

Front desk clerk was extremely rude. Room was filthy. The water pressure in the shower was so low, we could not rinse soap off. Reported the shower twice, but it was not fixed. We were told to leave dirty towels outside and they would replace them, but no one ever did.

The price was cheap and you get what you pay for. The floor was always moist and dirty. We dried it twice with towels and didn’t go to the beach or have the windows open. They did recently paint but the drips and splatter were everywhere (floor, hard surfaces, bed spread). When we asked for more pillows and towels we had to wait until the next day and they were put on our door handle in a clean trash bag. The bed is extremely firm and would squeak and the whole bed moved with the lightest touch, at night it was worse. Many things inside the room were broken. Large crack across the center window, large crack in the shower wall, the ceiling light kept going out or strobing, the bathroom door didn’t shut so forget privacy, and the screen on the window was broken and would bang every time the wind blew which was often since it was facing the beach. Upon arrival 3 large spiders had to be killed and more kept coming out during the trip. Thursday night after dinner there were three ladies sitting on the floor near the laundry room smoking crack. They were polite and asked if they were in our way, while the other told her friend to put the pipe away. When we were checking out we tried to let the desk clerk know of the issues but she didn’t care or want to see the pictures, but she was safe and had her covid mask on.

I had stayed at the Driftwood 3 years ago and was really disappointed 😢 this time. There were garbage bags outside on the side of the building guess they don’t want to pay for a dumpster. The living room floor has something slick on it. Refrigerator suiting outside the room door. Broken towel handle in the bathroom. And to top it off could not hang clothes in the closet because the broken closet door was in the closet. Oh and two microwaves in the kitchen one was broken. Now a 27.00 a day fee for your pet. Must be new management because this place has gone down. Only savings grace was oceanfront and the beach was right there.

One staff member was Completely inappropriate , Rude like you've never witnessed ...
seriously Dirty floors , we had to clean the entire room before bringing our things in .. always get Expedia insurance i sure will from now on ... that one employee came to our room cursed out my husband because he told the desk the floors were slippery ... she also called my husband a drunk , The fact is he doesn't drink he has a limp due to an accident numerous years ago .. she also yelled and screamed because we had the window open because the smell of pine sol was overwhelming

Well let me just say 'we are both 3rd generation Floridians From (SOUTH FLORIDA ) So yes Ma'am we are very aware ...... then she purposely left our dirty towels outside our door when she picked up and dropped off everyone else's towels on our floor .
As far as I am concerned she is not a good fit for this particular Hotel .....
We have a call into the owner because she was that out of line ... there is also structural damage on the balcony's
looks like someone painted over the cracks in the structure .... Definitely needs to be addressed before someone gets seriously injured or worse ...
Definitely never going back to this hotel EVER ! the sad part is we're in DAYTONA 4 x a year with a large group of people ' they just lost our business and everyone we travel with ...

My cat got stuck in their wall and she just said “property owner is out of country” and when I asked for the number she gave me a business card that would have connected me right to her. Should have just call the police to get my cat out.

Beachfront property in quiet location. Initially the cleaning product smell was a bit overwhelming but was to be expected these post COVID days. Property was as listed in a good location. I will stay here again.

This place was okay but the beds that where on metal frames that had paper towels under the stands (in a higher priced room) were very uncomfortable. I was on the third floor and there was no elevator to get luggage up and down easily. I understand it was built in the 50's but its 2023, time to upgrade! Staying more than a couple of nights means no room cleaning til ya leave. Sand every where which is expected but sheets should have been changed daily.

They are making many renovations to this property. It is an old small property I believe built in the 50's and has been well maintained. The parking sucks and only 1 handicap spot.
Most of the staff are very nice and try to be accommodating as possible.
If you want a beach spot in front of the hotel get out there early as the beach right in by the hotel fills up quickly.

this was a quick 3 day get a way and we enjoyed every minute of it- this was the 1st time we have stayed at this hotel but we will definitely stay again- its an older hotel but the location was perfect and the staff was friendly

This property needs to be completely remodeled. It’s so filthy, sticky and dirty. The mattresses belong on the curb, or in the dump! There’s even filthy ashtrays out on the balcony that need to be wiped out from massive cigarette ash stench. DISGUSTING

The lady @ the front desk could be more professional and polite. The bed squared terribly. The furniture and baseboards were eaten up by a dog or something. The comforter smelled musty. The stairs need updated and cleaned better.

I read the reviews and kind of knew what I was getting into. My wife and I booked this motel based on location and price. Let me tell you the negative reviews are spot on. This place is a dive motel filled with unsavory people who I believe some that live there full time. No parking at all. If you go out for dinner when you come back you have to park across the highway at the mini golf place. The beds are terrible, hard and squeak every time you move. The doors have holes in them. The fridge and oven are completely rusted from 1980. Thee are definitely roaches as well. Outside the rooms the walkways are all tore up and there are old ovens and air-conditioning systems laying around. The pool was dirty and the water looked like milk. Outside one room there is an old lazy boy recliner. The fences are all missing around the pool and some are just laying around. Spend a little more money and get a better place in the area. We will trust the reviews from now on. Anyone who says this place is even decent is delusional.

Not Happy !
First of all there is no parking for big trucks . When you have suv and trucks it’s all you can do to get in and out . Second there was roaches in room (seven) . Third I paid for an ocean front room . There was people sitting in front of the window in chairs for our room and woulleave . I ask manager about it and she was rude and said you only paid for a window! If that’s the case why pay extra money for ocean front room to sit in front of my room if anyone can sit there . I could get a cheaper room and sit in other people’s ocean front view . Then having to put towels outside and wait till whenever they decide to bring you clean towels. If you want take shower you have to wait . I had to clean out fridge from last people’s they had left drinks in it .

This spot is a hidden gem! The staff is super friendly and accommodating, very affordable rooms that are very clean, and just little touches that makes this place feel home! Great views and beautiful landscaping as well.

The beach was awesome. The area had nice restaurants,and great parks.The property is worn out.The rooms are not clean and you can smell mildew throughout the property. I rented a room with a kitchenette. The stove was worn out.Everthing supplied for the kitchen was old and dirty.The view of the ocean was great however i would not stay here again very old and dirty

Location is excellent. Pool was not working. Deck was dirty, door going from room to deck would have been very easy to bust through. Room very dark, curtains very old and partially falling down from rod. Sheets on bed felt like plastic. Stove had 1 burner that was broken, maintenance just left the broken burner there. Plates were a brown plastic, good thing I brought my own. Pans were nice. The entire property needs work, great potential. I have to say, I did feel safe staying there.

The photos are misleading, this is more of a pay by the day establishment. You could see into our room because of an issue with the door frame. The room was musty. Even though it did not look safe, no one bothered us. The best thing was beach access.

We were very disappointed with this motel. Pictures online are misleading and outdated from years ago.
“Oceanfront” does not mean you necessarily have a balcony. (Just a large window) our window had a huge crack from top corner all the way to the bottom. The light in the bathroom flashed bright to dim as if you were in a horror movie. The beds were more like foldable cots that felt like they would fold up if moved around to much.
Motel staff was always nice and helpful to us.
Office area smelled of animal urine.
I would not recommend this property especially if you are traveling with children. Area seems very unsafe at night. The parking was a horrible. Very small lots made it hard to get in and out of. We were unable to find a spot one of our night and had to park across the street on the road.
We felt it was unnecessary to complain about anything while there due to the fact that there would be nothing they could to to fix it.

Horrible stay
The property manager is rude. Had dogs barking all evening and when asked about it threatened to call the cops on us for harassment. Dog hair was COVERING the beds. Cigarette burns in comforter. Floors were disgustingly dirty. If you took your shoes off and walked from the bed to the bathroom your feet become sticky and black.

Upon arriving at this hotel the parking is extremely limited upon arriving in the room the floor was dirty the stove was not properly working missing parts would shock you when you cooked on it the microwave did not work the commode and bathtub kept stopping up and then the last morning there it flooded our room I really want part of my money back from this place I also learned that my daughter was speaking with the GM there and she made a not good racial Mark towards her I don't know exactly what's going on at this property but I've been there before and stayed 3 weeks and it was great. But again I really feel like I should receive more than what they gave me back for one night stay I'm very disappointed that they handled the situation the way that they did and also this racial marks oh and my granddaughter fell when the bathroom had flooded the whole room and hurt herself there was an incident report written up on my granddaughters injuries

Not the place to go for rest and relaxation
I had a horrible time there the room was infected with roaches floor was dirty service from staffing at the front desk to include manager on duty on Friday at about 8pm was the worst I ever experienced I won't recommend this place to my worst enemy. To respect to a combat veteran when complain of a noise issue

Affordable, easy staycation.
It is an old beach side hotel. But it’s great. Beach below, kids running back and forth, dogs welcome for a staycation. It’s easy and affordable for a quick trip. It’s not the Taj Mahal. this hotel has seen years of fun but housekeeping doing best they can. Newer room decor helps, bathrooms and amenities were clean, newer bedding. Windows open Listening to ocean on second floor was so great.

Every single day we had to get a new key for the place as it never worked. Last night there we came back past after hours and of course key wouldn’t work. Spent hour and half trying to call. Finally a neighbor says oh they have a lady living on premise. So I went and knocked on her door til she woke up to assist me. For the money I spent during bike week at this place. I wouldn’t recommend it. No help or discount for my inconvenience

The bed was not put together properly and as soon as my friend set on it it fail so we look under the bed and I see those mid rails are poorly installed not to mention they are already cheap and bad designed so we had to take the mattress out and sleep on the floor since it was 2am and no one to help.

The property was in despair and dirty. The room was very poorly maintained. I felt very dirty and as a result did not stay. I checked out right after I checked in. I was so upset about the condition that I requested a refund. I feel that the hotel falsely advertised. I would have never selected the hotel had I been made aware of the actual conditions. Extremely disappointed and not pleased to have wasted my money.

I liked the location of the property to the Daytona race way but after having to wait to check in because they were cleaning our room the floors were so dirty that our feet were black walking around barefoot in the room and no sink in the bathroom to wash your hands in the King room on the main floor
No overnight staff in the hotel and we needed a plunger so
They had to find one and then just handed us the plunger to do ourselves

the property looked nothing like the photos as advertised. It was run down and had a lot of storm damage from the hurricane. After we got conned into an expensive upgrade for a patio first floor room, we discover pure filth. There was an overwhelming smell of mold, the floor was greasy and unsafe. The toilet had pee on it and around the floor. The kitchenette cabinets had the varnish scrapped off (I have photos if you'd like to see) the microwave was rusted on the inside along with extra food debris. The fridge bottom was dangling. But if that wasn't bad enough, upon entering the room the patio door was wide open. In closing this door, the trim had been torn from the door frame exposing the lock, rendering the patio door unlockable and unsafe. We immediately checked out and booked another room at a clean and safe establishment.
