Remodelling
Half the hotel had been remodeled. The other half was in progress. Check on was 4pm(not 3) Door keys would work sometimes. My room was clean and comfy but no hot water until later that night. It will be very nice when work is complete.

I didn't used to read reviews on Google but now I will. After arriving at this location I realized I was taking a chance with my family's safety so I left to find another hotel. Then I read the reviews on Google maps and a person nailed it.

Customer service is important
I booked this trip for a client using my credit card and chose pay at property. I attempted to call ahead to ensure that the client will not have access to my card. I called customer service at hotels.com, they attempted to call and also got no response. The client does not have my card info nor do they have access to my hotels.com account but was unfortunately allowed to bill the hotel stay to my company card causing significant confusion.

The shower was leaking water and there was a piece of wall missing from the bathroom. We asked to be moved from the room and they refused. No water for at least 10 hours.and the office did not notify us... When ithe water was restored it was only the cold water.. Nonhot water at all.

Could not get the cable to work although the maintenance man tried hard. Got there early to watch the college football playoff games and then couldn't do it. Also had an awful hard time getting the cards to work to unlock the room door. Made around 6 trips to the office before I got one to work well enough to get in.

The person who checked me in was rude. I was asked for a $50 deposit cash when checking in, which was not stated anywhere in the booking process. The room was missing a smoke detector and the outside door only had a dead bolt to lock it. The hot water in the shower was not working. I did not feel safe or welcome.

When we walked into our non-smoking room it smelled like a cigarette. The wood floors were so dirty. I was walking around barefoot unpacking and my feet were so black on the bottoms. The walls in the room and door frame to the bathroom has black oily hand prints. The light in the bathroom was full of bugs. The tub was leaking and the tub was dirty. We didn't pull back the cover's of the beds. We slept on top of the bedspread. We didn't take a shower because it was so dirty. The toilet paper holder was broken. I wouldn't have let my dog stay there. We will be coming down to Homestead twice a month until September. We are trying to look for a nice place to stay but this isn't it. We won't stay there again and I will not suggest for everyone else to stay there.

Staff at check in and checkout were kind. Room dirty. Several hairs in the sink, no handle/lever on sink faucet, no cups to drink from, soda machine outside didn’t work, neither the power nor lamp worked on one side of the room. Didn’t use the pool.

We will not stay at this Econolodge in Homestead again. It did not have a safe feel to it. Many repairs and renovations need to be done at this hotel. It's in terrible condiition. The door could have easily been kicked in. There weren’t even two bath towels! I even caught a viral infection while staying there and have been sick ever since. Its only saving grace was the women at the front counter . She deserves a raise and a metal for working at such a dump!

Cash deposit required (ATM on site around back in dark area, does not feel safe), check in is through a walk up window, no access to a lobby, no coffee, light bulbs in room burned out, phone did not work, floor of room was quite dirty, towels were the roughest, thinnest I've ever seen. Not a pleasant experience.

Well, let’s start off with I booked online a couple weeks in advance with pay on site, but when I arrived they didn’t have a room for me because I didn’t have a CC on file for them to charge before I arrived they gave my room away.
They ended up giving me a smaller room at the same price, but it was filthy.
The windows are duct taped on and open. All the furniture and vanity were duct taped to the wall. The bath tub was covered in grime and the faucet was duct taped.
The chain latch was broken and unusable.
There was mold in the AC vents and the closet door wasn’t attached, just propped against the wall.
Oh, and NO hot water.
Now, outside… there is furniture and cupboards all over the lawn.
Permanent guests who run businesses out of the parking lot all day and night. They party on the walkway at all hours.
The amenities were closed to guest, couldn’t get into the office at all, so no breakfast and no help at all.
I was there a week because they wouldn’t give me my money back to cancel and go elsewhere. I’m that week, they never gave me another towel. Just the one. I had to go buy toilet paper and towels as well as cleaning supplies to be able to use the shower and mini fridge.
Do not. DO NOTTTTT stay here. It’s gross and staff is unpleasant.
Plus they make you pay a $50 cash deposit to ensure they get their tv remote back.
It’s ghetto as heck.

Horrible hotel
Horrible experience. This is the worst hotel i have ever stayed so far in the whole USA. First of all i booked a non smoking room, but they assigned me a smoking room. Even after requesting so many times, they didn’t change it. The property is so old. Rooms are not clean. Bedsheets and towels are stained, even they didn’t give any hand towel. Bath tub and basin was cracked and color was off, it just looked like ruins. Sometimes we were getting boiling water from the tap, sometimes no water coming. They advertise as breakfast included, but no breakfast, even not a cup of coffee. The rooms also didn’t have any coffee machine. Doors were jammed, need to put effort to open the doors with room key. No hair dryer, no face tissue, no iron in the room. There was a microwave and fridge, though I didn’t check if those work or not. I had no idea that a hotel that too a chain hotel ( under choice group) can be with such a bad condition, they didn’t maintain minimum standards. Don’t stay here ever.

Not clean, property is in terrible condition.. Room was changed and still same issues. No iron provided, although there is an ironing board in every room.. I asked for one and was told they don’t carry them. No soap, no conditioner, no shampoo… although they state that they provide it.:: Towel given was stained with what appeared to be blood… Place smelled like a nursing home. Area is not people friendly.. The stay was trash.

Hotels.ca should be embarrassed to have this listed on their site. The pictures are no where close to what the place looks like. The lobby is sketchy and grungy. I understand using a window for late check in, but it felt very unsafe for me to be outside of the hotel. The person checking us in was more worried about his FaceTime chat with his friends and took long to check in because of that. $50 CASH deposit to be paid, won't hold on the credit card. Lucky I had cash as no warning. Remote for is given to you and you need to bring it back to get your $$. No breakfast or coffee, they say renovations, but no work is being done, it's all just busted walls. Room had an overpowering air freshener, removed it but smell didn't go away. Holes in the wall, no fire detector, removed from ceiling and has paper stuffed in to close. Light near bathroom is an open ceiling. No chain lock S it's been broken. Beds are hard springs. Bathroom looked nasty and in the morning had cockroaches. Toilet paper holder broken. The entire state of the room was deplorable - I did not expect a 5 star, but I also did not expect 0. The front desk guy eventually had a group of friends hanging out on the property- didn't feel safe at all. The couple we travelled with came in our room the next morning and asked "does your room look like a homicide scene too?" I'm ok with no frills hotels just to lay our head and sleep, this was not acceptable.

Stayed for one night only as we were travelling on to the Keys. The rooms have been recently renovated and ours was pretty nice, flooring and furniture, comfy bed but on closer inspection the bathroom still needs a new tub (enamel was worn off and dented) and some tile and grout work. There was no continental breakfast or even coffee as the eating area is closed for renovation. They must get pretty sketchy customers as they make you retrieve and return the tv remote on check in and out, and require a $50 cash deposit for non smoking rooms. The desk staff was kind enough to wave that for us. The phone in the room didn’t work and the wifi was not worth trying to use. We were pretty happy to move on!
Overall it was nice enough for one night but wouldn’t want to stick around for a day!

To start, the room was filthy. I walked on the floors with my bare feet for a few minutes and my feet were BLACK with filth. There was dark spots above the shower that could have been mold. The sheets were stained. Gross!
Second, the door handles were broken. To get into one of our rooms you had to lift the handle rather than push down. In the other room, the bathroom didn't lock. The A/C system was SO loud it was hard to sleep. The 60Hz hum was enough to cause headaches.
Worst, the staff was rude and they lied to me. We had reserved two rooms for four nights. After the first night I went to the front desk and asked if I could cancel the remaining nights. The worker said "no, if you had asked last night, we could have, but you need 24 hours notice so you can't get your money back for tonight." Okay, so I can stay one more night and then get my money back ... fine. I double checked several times throughout the day to make sure I'd get my money back for nights 3 and 4 and was assured everything was taken care of. The morning after night two, I went to check out. The manager was working. She said, "You are reserved until Saturday, you can check out, but you will not get any money back." Not acceptable! I had a verbal contract with a representative of the hotel. The manager blamed the worker for making a promise she could not keep. As far as I'm concerned this is fraud. I'll be reporting to Econolodge as well.

Hidden gem, great value.
The sign is worn and weathered but DO NOT judge a book by it's cover. The room was SPACIOUS af! In addition to the king sized bed there was a fold out couch bed too. Faux wood floor was a nice break from the standard carpet flooring usually found in these types of hotels. The AC was very effective. There was both a microwave and fridge in my room too which was nice. Only negative things I will say is online they offer free breakfast but that is misinformation there's no breakfast and the towels felt like sandpaper.

The room's bathroom was in need of painting, the air conditioning had a water leak. There was unfinished spackling smeared all over the bathroom wall. Looked dirty, we didn't want to even take a shower in it. No amenities whatsoever, the ice machine was broken, no coffee pot in the rooms or in the office for morning coffee, and very noisy. I paid way too much and got very little. I would not recommend this property...

Arrived and there was no one in office. About 15 minutes later I called office number and a woman came to the window (all business is conducted trough window) asked if I had a reservation I gave her the name she pulled up reservation and stated I had to give her $50 CASH. I asked why she stated in case we have an animal. I offered her my credit card she says Cash! Only! She was not friendly. Luckily I had $50. The next morning I got my $50 back. If they are going to demand cash they might need to tell customers in advance

First of all, any travel site should be embarrassed to have this property on their site.
This hotel is what nightmares are made of.
Walked into the room and immediately regretted it. Broken chain on the door equals someone broke into it at some point and it was never fixed. Stains on sheets and dingy pillows. Upholstery coming off of the chair. The shower…I think you’d be dirtier once you come out.
Went to the front desk window (you can’t even go inside) and returned the tv remote that they give you on check in and requested back the $50 cash deposit they require.
I was unable to receive a refund from Expedia, but I’d rather lose the money then ever go back there again.
Someone seriously needs to shut this place down.

Hotel Nightmare
We was put in our fist room and had to be removed because the shower was not working. So they gave us another room and it waz a little better bit we stayed there for 5 nights and they only cleaned 1 time while we was there had to go to office and ask for clean towels every day .No coffee or any thing to drink there ice machine did not work .soda machine did not work.Nothig in you add was true its so sad i will never tell anyone to stay there.And i have alot of family that travel do there and friends so sad i wasted 278.98 of my hard earned money for you hotel

We accidently booked an extra night for a stay that we did not want. We called orbitz immediately to get this fixed (same day). The hotel still refused to refund the night even though we booked weeks in advance. Poor customer service. The rooms were cleaner than what a lot of the reviews were complaining about. I booked two rooms and when we returned to the hotel after the first day, the key cards for both rooms didn't work. It took a good 20 minutes for someone to return to the front desk to give us new cards. Customer service is clearly lacking here.

This is a sleezy hotel with sleezy people hanging out on the property. In fact one of them was arrested while I was checking out. The hotel room had a huge hole in the wall in the bathroom and bugs were crawling out of it (we didnt' see the bugs till the morning of checkout). The Air conditioner was as loud as a freight train. There were holes in the wall where someone had reinstalled a towel rack and left the old screw holes. The two lamps in the room did not work and there was a second sink with no pipes attached to it. The bed was VERY uncomfortable. Obviously this property takes zero pride in their hotel or they would have fixed the state of ill repair. The front desk clerk refused to refund or discount my stay cost complaining I should have asked to change rooms at 10 pm when we got into the room. My wife is handicapped and I did not want to make her move again. Nasty attitude from start to finish. Making matters worse there was a rain storm and the entire parking lot was a pool of water that looked like a lake. Do NOT stay at this place.

Upon arriving, the staff told us there were no clean rooms, then gave us a key to a room he thought was clean and had no towels. He also mentioned a “$50 cash only deposit” that you get back at the end, but didn’t have to pay it because “he was lenient”. We stayed 5 hours max and found our bicycles missing early that morning, which were locked to our truck, parked right in front of the 24 hr front desk. The staff member said that he saw someone ride out on bikes at exactly 4:19am and to check at the gas stations down the road. After expressing our concern, the staff member was very rude and gave us a contract to sign about policies, with a hand written note about the cash deposit in the corner. Told us if we didn’t sign it then the cash deposit would come out of HIS own pocket. This was by far the most sketchy and unsafe experience I’ve ever had with a hotel, and would never recommend this area to anyone.

Hotel has definitely seen better days.
The young lady at the counter was polite, but also frustrated because the first room she gave me hadn’t been cleaned. The second room she gave me, one of the beds hadn’t been made. It wasn’t her fault. Upon check in there was a sign posted on the window that they needed to collect a $50.00 cash deposit which I luckily had on me. I was told by her that my card was stolen / Fraudlent according to Hotels.com, but then she said it went through. I was able to get my deposit back with no problem in the morning. I think Housekeeping needs to be addressed, but it could be because they don’t have enough help.

For the price we paid it was a dump and something i would have probably paid 60 a night for and it was over 200.00
Plus the $25 per pet per night charge. The bath tub was black and when my son asked for cleaner to clean it they acted they didnt understand what he was asking. Said free breakfast and coffee and they had neither.

The property was run down and very dirty. You couldn't walk on the floor without shoes on or your feet or socks would be black with grime. The tub was dirty. The bathroom walls had holes in them with toilet paper stuffed in the holes. The drapes had holes. There was supposed to be a breakfast included there was no breakfast.

This property is an if all else fails last resort stay while it is not the worst it doesn’t even come close to the best, it is a place to sleep. I had to stay for 5 days. I purchased my own cleaning products towels and sheets and cleaned the room I threw a sheet over the couch to sit on it. It is definitely not clean but it did the job. I guess the staff was ok what do you expect from this type of property really. All I can say is if you must stay here set your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed.

So we get there at 3pm guy at the front was nice, hotel room was not ready until 6. The guy at the front informed us that there is no longer breakfast, we reserve hotels that offer breakfast. We finally get to our room a little after 6 and no towels or wash cloths. I go back to the front and a different gal is now working. She got me to nasty towels said she was not sure if they were clean, I get back to the room unfold them let’s just say I wouldn’t dry my pets with these towels, I did take pictures of them and she gave me no wash cloth, so my husband goes to try and get some wash cloths and she told him to go to the store and buy our own! We did exactly that! We also bought bug traps. Just in case. The first man that checked us in told us we could smoke anywhere outside just not n the room, then the next day some lady is screaming at me from across the parking lot that I cannot smoke! Never again will we stay here. We paid a great deal of money for our stay and breakfast was advertised. Wouldn’t recommend staying here, they didn’t even give us a VA discount, discount for not having a room for 3 hours, no discount for not having breakfast. Our room was not clean Red Bull cans and white stuff all over the dust ruffles, overall charge way too much for nothing but a dirty bed.

This was the MOST DISGUSTING hotel we have ever stayed at - and we travel a lot - all over the world and America. The counters were filthy, the room was disgusting, there were no outlets, the chain was broken, and you had to put a $50 cash deposit down (see sign on window in marker) because apparently residents have been cooking crack and smoking in the rooms so it was to ensure you didn’t do that. My husband and I felt dirty and disgusted. Also- they give you your remote when you check in because apparently they’re a hot commodity in this area and can’t be trusted to be left in the room!?!?

This is one of the most disgusting places I had stayed at. The first room they gave me had the shower curtain on one of the beds. Beds not maid, rotten apples on the table and it stunk. The second room was not any better under the bed was fool of trash and the shower looked like it was never cleaned.

Horrible service, alarm out of battery chirping
Not only was the room run down and dirty, but when we checked in, we noticed that the fire alarm was chirping because it was obviously out of battery (open, hanging from the ceiling). We asked the front desk guy to install new batteries, he said he would “try to do it”. At night, at midnight the alarm stated chirping, I called the front desk to ask them to fix it, the guy said he had “a bad back” and wouldn’t help. I insisted, he said he was alone and couldn’t do anything about it, and that other guests had the same problem but didn’t complain. How come a hotel have only one person working, and refuse to help? We left in the middle of the night, bought another battery and it immediately stopped chirping. The problem was simple, the alarm was out of battery. Also, they claim to be pet friendly, but charge a $25 fine per day for the pet, which is not something they disclose clearly when you book. I used a pet friendly filter, and it should have included that. It was a surprise to me. A hidden fee.

No sirve para nada las instalaciones son un saco, la habitación hola a humedad estaba sucia el baño Es un asco total, basura por la parte de afuera la piscina no funciona no limpian la habitación llegue el primer día y no tenía ni una toalla en la habitación fui a pedir toallas y me dieron una y éramos tres personas, servicio deprimente, reclamé por que no limpiaban la habitación me dijeron que es un día si y otro no pero mientras estuve después que reclame sólo limpiaron in día y ni siquiera cambiaron las sábanas no tendieron las camas tampoco pusieron jabón no pierdas tu dinero aquí y menos si vas con tu familia

Terrible service, room smelled there was trash from other people… we were with no running water all night until 10 am.
We were told no vending machine on site and then we found some.

Yes I have images of the tubs and rooms VERY NASTY THEY DID NOT GIVE ANYTHING BACK TO ME AND I BOOKED 3 DAYS I DID NOT STAY HERE THE LADY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY CLEAN ROOMS AVAILABLE THEY TOLD ME TO CLEAN THE TUB BECAUSE THE CLEANING LADY LEFT! VERY RUDE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! NASTY AND THEY DO NOT CLEAN AT ALL. I CALLED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER WHICH WAS UNAVAILABLE EVERY TIME I CALLED STILL NO RETURN CALL BACK AND NEVER RECEIVED AN APOLOGY OR FUNDS BACK

The website i booked on said there was a pool and breakfast. Neither one was available. The hardwood flooring was super dirty, the bottoms of our feet were black. The air conditioning unit was very noisy, hard to sleep. The booking site mentioned a 50 dollar deposit. Okay....when we get there the sign at the check in window said it had to be cash. Not convenient. We never carry cash, we live off of our debit card.

The room was not clean the sheets were dirty i had to get new ones they made me make the beds myself the bathroom was gross i had to clean the tub out myself to use it not a place i would pay to stay at again no clean towels i had to get new ones no toilet paper had to buy a roll the tv didn't work so I had to get front desk to fix it and I still had problems with the TV after I asked front desk to fix the tv DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL EVER

It was horrible.we checked in late with a child.Room was dirty,I took pictures.Hair and gross stains on walls bedding ,as well as bathroom not clean.could not let child lay down.went back to sleep in car,because could not talk to management untill the next day.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at there was no smoke alarm the room was half ass cleaned I had too go find a store too buy a mop a scrub brush and my own cleaning supplies so I could properly the floors and sb
