Not worth the price
Front desk staff was just okay. They were more focused on finishing conversations with one another than checking us in and they were supposedly checking in via text throughout the stay but I received one message in 15 hours. The room was very dirty, especially the beds and bathroom. Random hairs in the bedding and build up/mold in the tub and shower heads. We checked under the sheets and found severely stained mattresses. There were stains all over the headboard and wall, as well as the hallway carpet. This hotel needs a serious deep clean and renovation to continue charging the price they do. I would rather stay at another hotel in the area.

It had a place to relax after a long day.
Bad.
Door to room whistled all night with the air going right thru it. Bed was not comfortable and traffic buzzing by all night kept us awake.
Light in bathroom also buzzed.

We were only there for one night and arrived quite late, so it's difficult to provide detailed feedback. But there was plenty of space and the beds were comfortable. I slept very well. No complaints!

We had move to different rooms because our first room had no hot water!! Next time I will check early about the water temp not late at night. Some if the staff was Ver Friendly others not so much….. maybe because it was over the Christmas holiday and they were pissed they had to work. Once we found a room with hot water everything went smoothly.

Great stay, will stop again
This hotel is near historic downtown Fredericksburg as well as major retail and restaurant chains. Seems very new and updated, clean and inviting.

This hotel is very nicely maintained. The only ding I can give it is that there is no free breakfast. This can be a good thing because most places offer powdered egg mix eggs which are not the best. The buffet offered was $20/person. I think that is overpriced. I went to a restaurant nearby and paid $24 for 2 people. Otherwise, I plan on staying here again.

This property is in the heart of a main shopping area where you can get pretty much anything you want or need. Target, Walmart, Wegmanns, dining, Barnes & Noble plus many chain stores are located right in this area so no need to travel far to get food or items. Hotel was clean however it's starting to show some wear. Breakfast is not included unless you pay for it in advance. This hotel is right on Route 95 and the noise from the highway may be a downside to those who are sensitive. My suggestion to all is to ask for rooms with an odd number as they face the front of the hotel rather than the back (which faces the highway and VERY noisy. I've stayed at Hilton Garden Inn many times and this one ranks lower on my list due to the noise level. Overall, if I had to stay here again I would specifically request a front facing room.

The room was so dirty and full of dust! I had to check out and let them know how horrible the room was. The staff didn’t care that we had to check out in the middle of the night because our asthma was triggered by how dirty the room was.
The hotel hallway was dirty and looked old and outdated!

I normally love Hilton Garden Inn and have stayed here and other locations many times. The breakfast buffet was 19.95 per person. I chose to do it because I love french toast and has been good in past. This time only eggs were available for made to order. Sure I got bacon and sausage and half warm potatoes but for 19.95 I expect more options. No plates anywhere, no cups for water, juice, etc as they seem to want the one server to manage all tables so that was inconvenient. I will no longer come here due to this and just find other options that have a better breakfast experience.

The room was pretty beat up and if you book through expedia you can't get any hilton rewards points. The room was never serviced or the trash emptied. Very disappointing for a Hilton. Will probably be going back to Marriott.

Clean, quiet, comfortable bed
Was a clean and quiet hotel, comfortable bed, parking lot is well lit in most areas, no homeless anywhere around. The nearby hotels. Almost all offer free breakfast, this hotel didn't, $15 per person. Person. Lots of restaurants, fast food, etc. At the Central Park shopping area across the street. Easy check-in. Polite staff, the hallways were quiet as was the outside.

Over night stay on way south. Very clean, not cramped, bed was very comfortable. Hotel has little restaurant and bar onsite. Arrived late so being able to check in and then walk down the hall for food and drink was great. Hot breakfast made to order; omelet was great. Already booked for trip home.

Certainly a step down from last stay. Checked in and selected my room Saturday morning only to have it changed upon arrival. We pick the first floor for our dog but got booted to the third.

My stay was short, just one night, and after a long day of driving - HGI proved why they're my #1 choice...after my quick check-in, the restaurant recognized I really wanted to eat something and stayed open a little later than usual just to prepare something for me. Life saver.

The location is great, I was able to set up my digital room key which was great, I selected the room because my parents are older and can’t walk far and it was by an exit door but the door didn’t work with the digital room key and I had to get a physical key but still had an issue. The room was ok but not very clean and they definitely didn’t clean the floors after the last person was there. My mother complains because it’s a Hilton and she didn’t get free water or complimentary breakfast. We stayed at the Hampton inn across the street last time we were in town much better option.

The property was just generally a disappointment. There was no parking, the facilities inside the room were not well-maintained, my shower did not work – the water would not turn on, and there was no one from engineering offered to fix it. To top it off Housekeeping was banging on my door at 10:27 AM when check out is at 11 AM.

The entryway to the Hilton garden looks nice. The lobby looks nice. The rooms look outdated. The bathrooms are really outdated. The facilities are really outdated those things need to be revamped immediately. If those things were better, I would give it a better score, but for the price the place is just simply average nothing special at all.

In compare the price, the service was very limited. Bathroom was very small, no drinking water no coffee table. I suggest the hotel put some cold beverages to the fridge and then the customer can be charged on.

For some reason desk staff will try to dump their down room on you first. Meaning- Why would you give me a room that smells like smoke and the door was slamming very loud and out of control. So I had to go back to the desk for a new room. This always happens and in certain neighborhoods.

Send time staying here. First time was fine.
Second time was awful. Room was dirty. Bathroom smelled like weed. Fire alarm went off at 5am, and off and on for 15 minutes.
Front desk staff wasn’t rude. But definitely not welcoming. Won’t stay here again.

You should not have to pay for water or your breakfast when you stay in a Hotel that carries the Hilton name all of your location should carry the same things I stayed in Dover and my breakfast was included with my room I stayed in Fredericksburg and I had to pay extra for me and my grandkids meals that went over my budget!! And that was not good at all When I booked this hotel I was not in formed about this then I didn’t get the suite for Handicapped that I asked for I will never stay at this hotel again!!!!!

Don't stay here if you want to sleep.
The smoke alarm went off at 1:45 AM waking up the entire hotel, apparently caused by their own negligent kitchen staff. People said this is the second night in a row it has happened. I tried to call the front desk several times and no one answered, It was impossible to get my toddlers back to sleep after that. We have a very long drive in the morning that will be now be very dangerous and difficult on no sleep. I paid good money to SLEEP here and no one got any sleep!
FYI- the shower curtain rod is lose and could fall at any minute and the pillows need replaced.

No breakfast , Nobody cares
We paid for breakfast when we reserved the rooms. In the morning we were told that the cook called out sick and only continental breakfast was available. There was cold oatmeal and cereal.
While we were denied what we had already paid for we watched families order breakfast alacart, and get served. The waitress took our orders, apologizing for the confusion and went to the kitchen. About ten minutes later the waitress returned and stated that she would not be able to get our food because the person that was cooking said that she had other things to do in the hotel, again as we watched the families ordering ala cart get their food.
There was no coffee and the front clerks response stunk..."its not my fault, i just got here". There were other hotels in area , i would have thought a large hotel with that much reputable competition in the immediate area would be able to handle a problem like this or at the minimum be able to field the a complaint without making the customer feel like they were being a pain in the butt.

Not for family.
My wife is still breast feeding our son and requested a possible early check in. The front desk stated it would be an additional cost even though check in was available
At 2:30pm and we arrived at 12:30 pm. They proceed to inform us they have a public bathroom for her to feed my son. The hotel was empty and available rooms was not an issue. When speaking with the manager he stated. “ nothing I can do” the Pool also is un safe, the floors are into a high incline people felt just walking around and the hot tub wasn’t working.

Horrible night at the Hilton
I booked the room on short notice .When I checked in girl at desk was nice. When we got to our room it had a musty smell.and it looked like no one vacuumed it. We all needed to shower ,but we didnt have enough towels no one answered at front desk. It was after 10 pm so the restaurant was closed.no room service available. So we had to go out to get food.
When I booked I added the breakfast package, which was a waste of money as the choices were very limited and nothing we would eat.They also ran out of creamer for coffee in room and at breakfast. When I
spoke with the counter girl she was very rude. we ended up paying extra for 3 full breakfast and they were horrible. I will never book a stay here again.

Manager.. last name Christine La Mana was unprofessional. I was on crutches and need a wheelchair and assistance.
An employee was kind enough to wheel me i to the building from my car.
While at the front desk she inquired how i drove to the facility. I told her i had a sprained ankle bad knee snd vertigo. All documented with doctors.
She said she had no staff to be able to feel me to my room. She was not nice she was ignorant. I guessed listening to the whole thing said out loud it looks like there’s a difficulty here. She said I’ll take you to your room. I said thank you and the guest and her friend will be up to my room. Shame on this manager La Mana. It was 8:30 pm, saturday July 29

Looking for anoyy to he chain to stay at.
Have stayed in many Hilton Harden Inns. Lately they have not been up to historical standards. This Hotel needs a face lift. And location is poor given half the rooms are on I 95 side.

Definitely NOT what I am used to when I stay at any Hilton Garden Inn, which is my usual go to. There were a pair of dirty underwear in the corner of the closer when I checked in. Didn’t complain, just picked them up with napkins and threw them out. The incidental fee was not located anywhere, but not too big of a deal, but it would have been nice to know, especially after I called to confirm the reservation the day before (it was $225, found out as o was checking in, should be posted). I’ve had better customer service at Chick-Fil-A drive through. Breakfast is NOT included, however I did purchase breakfast as an option, but that only afforded me continental-also should be posted somewhere when booking. Not one of my better experiences. When you pay for a service, you expect to receive optimal service, this was mediocre at best.

There was a very large truck stop next door so if was kind of busy and a little noisy outside. Not a big deal.

I usually try to stay at the HGI. The property restaurant is always top rate. The rooms are comfortable, especially the beds. This HGI was dated, uncomfortable room, and the restaurant was non existent. Very disappointed. The staff was very nice and helpful however, will not stay there again

Facility was fine. I had paid for 3 breakfasts and we had a family emergency the morning of checkout that I needed to attend to. Upon checkout I said my husband was waiting for me in the car and asked if I could just grab a single muffin and coffee. The woman staffing the checkout desk told her I needed to bring her a receipt. That’s pretty bad customer service. I just paid $250 for a hotel and 3 breakfasts. To act so begrudgingly was super offputting. We travel frequently and I have tended toward Hilton Garden and Doubletrees because of their price point and service. I will definitely reconsider this. A muffin, for god’s sake?!?!

Stopped in the Fredericksburg area for a day trip. This hotel was a bang for our buck. It was super clean and even had a pool and other great amenities. It’s location is perfect with every major chain for shopping, entertainment or food being less than 5 mins away.
