Fun place to stay

I have stayed at this hotel many times and this was my first time back post pandemic. The rooms have held-up well although the thermostat and shower head was long overdue to be replaced, and our in-room telephone was broken. We stayed two nights and after returning from our first day out, our room hadn't been serviced when we returned. It was too late to get it cleaned and the front desk wasn't particularly apologetic. We parked with the valet parking with mixed results. When we arrived at the hotel's check-in time, 3:00, the valet was nowhere to be found and eventually appeared looking like he had just woken from a nap. It took forever to get our car after checking out. We love the location and design of the rooms and lobby though, and will probably return again.

Unfortunately Expedia still advertises a “sea view room” which we paid for, but upon arrival found that a building has now been built next door and the hotel has no more sea view rooms. Slightly frustrating but nothing to make us cancel the room.

The room set my asthma off w the overwhelming cleaning products. Smelled like wet dog. When i took a shower gross black bits came up into tub and filled the tub. Im home now and im sick w 100* temperature. I like the hotel but that bed and the sheets are awful. I wont be coming back. Im sick now and it was the chemicals.

The housekeeping was severely delayed Waited over two hours for towels. Housekeeping just made beds and took out trash They did not take out dirty glasses or pizza box or replenish bath items. Front desk and concierge were amazing.

Clean, quite small room. Great location downtown on 4th. Front desk very friendly, but they repeatedly agreed to send housekeeping and did not. I asked for daily but they said they had insufficient staff. Valet was very prompt with car, little waiting.

Wonderful Hotel and Staff
The hotel and the staff were fantastic but the city itself was a dump. I was staying a couple of days before a cruise and it was a great hotel. However, it was such a shame to see such a great city turned into a wasteland. You have to be very careful if you walk around much and I would suggest a taxi if you have to go anywhere beyond a couple of blocks radius.

I missed having house keeping. I requested new towels, and not only did it take 8 hours to get them, they just set them inside the room and did not take my old towels. For the price, I expect better service.
Additionally, the room always reset to 72 degrees. I kept lowering, and it would just reset.

Checking in at 430 and told room wasn’t ready, which they fixed up super quickly. A little shocked to find out the parking was $60 overnight. I’ve parked in downtown Vancouver for 1/2 that so seemed excessive. I saw signs for other parking downtown at $30. Room was a mixed bag of newer and out-dated finishes. Beds were comfortable. No lock on the bathroom door. Not ideal for families. Room view was of a concrete wall. For the price I thought the value was low. Location was good for the things we wanted to do.

Poorly run for the cost.
Reserved two queen beds as did our travel companions. Checked in and went to our room to find 1 king. Told our companions no rooms with two queen. One bed doesn’t work for three adults in each room. Unhappy to have to use pull out couch for what we paid. Gave us a voucher to the bar too bad it was already closed. Then had to call three times for enough towels for the number of guests and were finally told they were going through rooms looking for clean towels because they were out.

The valet on duty was very friendly and helpful however, for the amount of money to stay in this facility you would think you would staff with more than 1! We did not receive maid service but were given permission to request more towels. Again, the price does not match the services provided. In keeping with the overall theme of the stay, the Outlier was also overpriced but, oddly, over staffed for the number of people choosing to eat there. In light of the abundance of people working, our waiter was noticeably absent and forgetful. I believe his name was "Josh". You'll be able to identify him by his habit of saying "cheers" or "yeehaw" every time he came to the table. Perhaps the surcharge added to the tab should actually be utilized to hire your understaffed valet department. Overall, so disappointing except for the proximity to where we needed to be. W

Wasn't impressed, especially for what I paid.
For the amount we spent on one night, this hotel does not include breakfast. The prices in the restaurant are pretty steep and it closes early on weekends. There's no coffee pot/coffee/tea/ bottled water in rooms. If you're looking for something close to the sports venues, this isn't the best option.

Quick overnight trip to Seattle. Parking is valet only. Check in went well. Hotel was nice and quiet and comfortable.
When it was time to leave I called for valet with no answer. Went down to the desk and was told there were four people in front waiting for cars. Sat there for an hour and watched more than 10 cars come and go. Asked again and was told I was “in line”. Then saw someone paying off the valet to get to the front of the line. Ended up waiting more than an hour and a half for our car. Missed our breakfast with friends. Others missed their flights because of the valet issue. Will never stay there again!

The hotel itself was great. We only stayed one night in order to visit Pike Place and Downtown Seattle.
However, the sheer amount of homeless people is absurd. If I had know Seattle was this bad, I would have bypassed staying and visiting the city altogether, and gone directly to the national parks.

Nice decoration and friendly front counter staff. Valet parking staff was not clearly identifiable with uniform and name tag. I wasn't sure if I was giving my car key to a street person. When retrieving my vehicle, two valet parking attendants came to assist us, but I had only prepared one set of tips and gave it to one of them, and the other one gave me the eyeball.

From the moment we got there the staff was very friendly. Location of hotel is great. Loved the restaurant in hotel. Room was spacious. We even enjoyed that the hotel was right across from a beautiful public library. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel and enjoyed our stay, took a while to figure out the parking situation. Realize there is only valet parking and you have to park in street, nowhere to pull up so you’re blocking traffic. I would call ahead of time to have the valet meet you. Once I did, it was very smooth, the valet was very nice and took the car, I just drove around the block a couple times, trying to figure it out.

This location was great. Close to Pike Place Market, the waterfront, Columbia tower, and Smith tower. The light rail station is also within a walkable distance. The staff was very pleasant and professional. I recomend this Seattle stay wholeheartedly.

Staff was very friendly and helpful at all times of the day. Room was very clean. Lots to do within walking distance. There is a $20 charge that you lose if not used for something at the hotel so make sure to get something to eat or drink at the bar and charge it to the room.

Hotel Monaco Dissapoints
We arrived and checked into our room on the 7th floor. My husband inquired about a coffee maker as there was not one in the room. The front desk representative insisted on "upgrading" us to a suite with a coffee maker. We moved to the 11th floor which turned out to be a downgrade. The room was smaller than our original room, faced the noisy side of the building and we could hear the HVAC system on the roof in our room. The plumbing in the bathroom was very noisy. As though a valve needed replacing. When we checked out we were charged for a room that we had prepaid for necessitating a refund. We have stayed at Hotel Monaco numerous times and have always enjoyed the luxe feel of the property. It is starting to show its age. The positives of our stay were a friendly staff, excellent Valet attendant and a very comfortable bed.

You can never go wrong at a Kimpton Hotel. This one did not disappoint. As we were checking in, the concierge notified us that the happy hour was ending and would we like a glass of wine before they put things away. They were offering red or white wine. The decor is so very unique and beautiful from the rooms, the halls and the lobby.

It began w/ making a reservation for 3 nights and 1st busy to Seattle
Beautiful city and property, but the Expedia Site offers a $14.99 “insurance” to be able to cancel up to the day of arrival, but on the page before that appears when making the reservation it says that I had until the 17th, this is when the fiasco began
In using the Expedia site, I made the reservation for hotel Monaco Kimpton within 20 minutes of having made the same reservation on Expedia without any issues but I had another hotel in the same area but at a higher price of $110 more a night plus $45 and tip to a valet, but I had to park my own car around the block
The Hotel Monaco Kimpton offered eight dollar a night garage parking with valet parking and I would tip the valet and it did not say that it was included in the room upfront, very confusing for a time
When I reached out to cancel the reservation at the Seattle Hilton, everything went smoothly, and there was issues because it was made on 14 January, three days before my arrival no deposit taken no fees charged until I change to another hotel at a better rate
When I made my reservation at Hotel Monaco Kimpton the reservation was excepted, which was the booking reservation the same one upon my arrival at hotel Monaco Kempton, and the rate was $167 and change, but the monies that were pulled from my card, would not work for the new reservation, even using the same Expedia site, and they had all my information in the system

We came into Seattle to attend a concert so the proximity to the Benaroya concert hall was the main reason we picked the Kimpton Monaco. However, there were other choices in the area and we chose the Monaco because we wanted a more unique, boutique experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are first class with decor and functionality. Some reviewers found them too small but we had a king bed and a big bathroom and plenty of room. We really liked the wine social in the lobby in the evening and the lobby was packed with people which was a great vibe. The adjacent restaurant accommodated us without a reservation although I think they fill up as the evening goes on. Parking in downtown Seattle is problematic but the valet was very fast. There is no driveway to pull out of traffic so you have to pull into the left lane and the valet is right there to get you quickly unloaded and move the car. Overall, it was a great experience. I would stay there again and I recommend it for anyone coming into Seattle.

Stayed here numerous times over the years. Will not come back. No bellman at door upon arrival. No housekeeping service for a 5 night stay. Daily over 5 days, bellman did not greet, constantly leaning on podium looking at their phones. Round make up mirror light was out, vanity light bulb out, residue on bathroom floor and room carpet, hair in tub. Horrible and disappointing experience. Rented Monte Carlo Suite for 5 nights, This past 4 Star Hotel by Kimpton is clearly a 2 Star now and an embarrassment having the KImpton name on it. My wife and I had our 36 year anniversary there and it will be a negative for us because of this experience.

This hotel is beautiful and in a great location to the waterfront. The front desk was pretty unwelcoming except for the morning staff. If you’re using Expedia, you can expect to be treated less important. We booked a room with a view, but got a street view. It wasn’t worth arguing because it happens to us all the time using Expedia. You would think lotion and other toiletries would be provided in a hotel like this, but I guess we’re all finding ways to cut costs. Overall, this hotel is very nice. Just pointing out the negatives to give a heads up.

Bad experience! Hotel's Seattle view rooms, you will not get it. There is a federal building next to it. You will get a brick wall view instead.
This hotels does not keep up with cleaning. It has a filthy elevator.

This hotel has dirty elevator and not very comfortable room. I have booked two bedrooms for king bed size and two bed rooms for two queen beds. I also have called ahead of time to have baby play pan set up. They did nothing. Hotel also gives us two different type of rooms, one is much smaller than the other. All rooms did not have any views even though I have booked rooms with a view. I booked rooms with parking on site yet they apply the credit to the wrong room. It took more than 24 hours to fix this problem. It was not a good experience at all.

Disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful trip
From the moment we stepped out of our car at the curb, the service was horrible. The valet was talking to a guest and made absolutely no effort to acknowledge our arrival, nor to offer a cart for our heavy bags with which we were struggling. When we finally made it inside, on our own, over an hour after the check in time of 3pm, the front desk informed us that one of our 2 rooms was "not ready yet". No apology, no offer of any option or compensation, just excuses about housekeeping being understaffed, and a downright rude attitude as if we were being unreasonable for expecting otherwise. As it happened, our daughter's room was only ready after 5pm when we were supposed to be leaving for an event. There were few towels in the rooms and the outlets for charging cellphones were inconvenient. Rooms were clean, but we expected much better from a Kimpton where we've had good experiences in the past. After this, we will never choose another Kimpton property. Terrible customer service! Very disappointing.

The staff are doing an amazing job considering the lack of help.There is a restaurant on site but not open on Sunday's for breakfast. Nor was it open for lunch on Saturday. The rooms are nice, well appointed. However, downtown Seattle is a mess. Homeless, drugs, do not walk outside alone day or night. We were there for a concert at Lumen. Location was spot on. 15 minute walk. But travel in pairs is recommended. Let's hope Seattle can clean it up it was such a beautiful city.

Too expensive for what you get but that’s what businesses are continually doing. Raising prices and using the excuse of inflation. Won’t ever come back at over $500/night for a room that’s not worth half of that.
