Hotel is old and outdated
Hotel is old and outdated. Very disappointed that this is a doubletree hotel as it was not close to the standard I expect. Furniture in lobby was old and stained. Elevators were old and barely worked. Several ice machines were out of service. Hotel needs major work done.

We like the option of a pet-friendly hotel. Issues found that carpet needs more cleaning due to high traffic, but surrounding areas have empty businesses, which is attracting not so-good people.

Loved getting the warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in after a long, tiring day. Would have been better of the pool and jacuzzi weren't down for maintenance, but overall a great stay!

I have stayed here before and it was great. But now it needs some major updating. The facility looks dingy. We had about 10 families staying at this location and every single one of them said the same thing. They also claim that the restaurant does breakfast and dinner, but when we went down at dinner time, no one was there except a bartender. So we decided to order pizzas from and outside restaurant. The bartender was aware of this and very helpful. He provided us with paper plates, napkins and even a large trash can. When management found out they complained about the outside food. The manager also knew that we were all back in the restaurant and that the bartender was back there by himself with about 40 people. The manager never came back to see if the bartender or us needed anything or any help. This property definitely need some love and the staff needs some more training and help.

The property really needs some updating. Also this is the first time I have ever been charged and early check in fee. I stopped into the hotel to check in and didn’t even ask if the room was available because I knew we were early. The clerk at the desk told me that because the type of room was available and it was before 4pm check in, that it would be an extra $25 for early check in. Seemed kinda of off to me. I will definitely be checking with Hilton on that policy.

Comfortable and clean
Nice place and great staff. Construction was a pain but that not the hotels fault. Overall stay was great. Was comfortable bed which is big for me and clean at all times.

The heat didn't work, fan was very noisy, hairdryer was falling apart, it was so old the plastic was disintegrating.
The overall feeling of the hotel was old and not well maintained. I don't understand how Expedia is showing this one as a 4 star hotel. I would never go there again.

Well first off, we booked through Expedia so there was no refunding when we found out upon checking in that the pool was not functioning, so we had to go to another place just to sit in a hot tub tonight. Super inconvenient. Also upon checking in, there was no mention of a pet fee of $50. When walking in with my family, we were stopped with all of our luggage by the front desk to add a pet fee. Then we get to our room and it stinks horribly like old cigaret smoke and the toilet is disgusting.
We will absolutely NOT be returning and will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

Love this hotel!
This is are 2nd stay in the past 3 months and we plan to stay here again in May. The location is ideal, so many food choices right there. Easy to access from hwy. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Only thing I would say is a negative is both times we have stayed here toilet paper rolls are barely half full and we have to ask for more. Warm chocolate chip cookies are offered at check in. Staff has been extremely friendly and welcoming.

Seemed a bit sketchy when we 1st drove up because there was several ppl just walking around asking if we sold weed but after we said no they just left us alone. Property was beautiful? Courtyard and pool side are nice. Rooms were very well put together. And staff was super nice. I loved my stay and it was safe.

The power went out during our stay and about 10 minutes later the fire alarm system went off. Everyone on our floor evacuated and then about 20 minutes later the power came back on. No explanation was given by hotel staff. Also, be prepared to pay for breakfast.

The staff was very nice and helpful but the property was a bit run down. Not at all up to the Hilton standards. The pool was being repaired and they kept pushing it to the next day next day. It was 100 degrees in Phoenix and we wanted to use the pool It was finally open the final day. Then they had to shut off the water and electricity from 12-4 am for some repair. Nice location- close to shopping and restaurants. Probably wouldn't stay here again

I would recommend this hotel for an overnight but not for an extended stay. There is no free breakfast, no microwave, and a lot of homeless people in the area. The hotel staff was excellent, and the hotel did provide security on site to help with any problems.

I was not very pleased with the esthetics, it smelled so musty, the customer service always hung up on us, and the mirror almost killed me. I asked to have a comp for one night because of the mirror incident, nothing was done or even a response. Will never stay there again.

Great room, sad late night service
The room and stay were great. The check was a bit frustrating. When we arrived late after a concert in downtown Phoenix we were told that we did not have a reservation despite having checking in on the Hilton Honors app earlier in the day. We were told our card was declined, but were not given a heads up via app or email so we could fix it prior to arriving. The man at the front desk did not offer help, just stated we didn't have a reservation. Eventually, we worked it out and got our room, but after a long night, the extra frustration was not taken well.

Truly can’t go wrong with Double Tree. This hotel was a breathe of fresh air compared to the surrounding areas. Do yourself a favor and pay what ever the cost of the area is your desired location. Clean rooms, nice staff, pool, hot tub, restaurant and fresh cookies.

What I liked:
- Comfortable beds
- Very nice and helpful staff
What I didn't like:
- The hotel is truly shabby and is way past a facelift. The carpets in the hallways are so full of stains that it's hard to see any clean areas.
- The room size is adequate but there's only one straight-backed chair at the desk and no other seating in the 2-bed room, even though there is space in the corner by the floor lamp for a comfortable chair for reading or watching TV.
- Misleading information: The booking said the room has a microwave and a fridge. There was a fridge, but no microwave. The front desk said that their website does not promise microwave and booking companies are adding it on their own. Well, if Hilton is aware of it, they should force the booking companies to provide correct information
Misleading information: Free wi-fi. Free wi-fi is available only if the guest is willing to fill out the application for Hilton Honors and provide a lot of personal information. No application - no wi-fi.
They also don't provide even elementary continental breakfast (like a muffin with the morning coffee in the lobby). There is an $18 breakfast buffet in the restaurant, with the spread barely a notch above what Ramada or La Quinta provide for free, and their room rates are lower.
Hilton used to stand for quality. Now it only stands for money-grabbing. What they provide does not justify their room rates.

Less than Memorable
I was looking forward to my first stay at a DoubleTree Hotel, as I’ve heard good things from my peers.
Unfortunately, my visit to a DoubleTree Hotel was less than memorable. Upon check in, we never received a cookie, as DT proudly solicits. When we got to our room and opened the door, we were greeted with a strong Mildew smell (like a mildewed towel) that seemed to be coming from the air conditioning. It aggravated allergies and thought I was getting sick but once I got outside symptoms cleared up. So I suggest that air conditioner be checked, it is gonna cause major health problems at some point.
The bed was very hard, but I enjoyed the bedding and pillows. The pillows were very comfortable.
The caulking on the inside of the shower was coming off in some areas and looked like mold starting to grow in some areas. Carpets were very dirty in the room as well as the hallway common areas. The smell of marijuana filled the hallway every day we were there, and the pool area also.
Breakfast…we arrived to restaurant at 10:20am. Few people eating, but Stood waiting to be seated for 10 minutes before another patron told a busser to help us, the hostess was nowhere to be found. $17.99 for a continental breakfast, where most places would be offered for free. Hostess refused to make more coffee because it was “10:30am and they shut down at 11am for breakfast.” a supervisor made coffee for all 3 tables and apologized.
I wish my experience was better.

we had our AC go down, I was able to utilize the Hilton Honors app to check in my room rather quickly. And i mean within minutes of booking, granted it was close to check-in time, it was just a seamless transition to gain access to our room. the pet policy, thank you so much for allowing us to bring in our pets, they enjoyed the property and was kept cool during this hot summer. staff was great and friendly, very welcoming. Highly recommend this Hotel to other guests as its reasonably priced and the location is within walking distance to a lot of popular restaurants, and a short drive to the freeway in case you want to expand. After the renovations to MetroCenter, this place will be a go to destination due to the location, mere steps to the old mall, or mere steps to a future entertainment area.

Don't recommend this place
We reserved a room with a kitchen table as my daughter was shipping off to boot camp& we wanted to do one last dinner together & play games. Room didn't have kitchen table. Matthew who checked us in was extremely rude! We were charged twice. Pool was extremely dirty & jacuzzi was even worse. Check out these photos.
