Bed was comfy but they didn’t have a tv remote in the room looked under the bed to see if it just fell and that was a mistake. They charged for a breakfast that was that same at other hotels that offer it free with there cheaper room.

Nice decor! Just not maintained well. Popcorn ceiling needs some fixing. Carpet needs a good cleaning!
Bed too soft for me (or may be too worn out). Pillows the same. Ended up having neck pain as in the morning those pillows were flat.
We were on the second floor. And it was during NCAA championship. So a lot of traffic.
But soundproofing was great!!!

Property was good. Just wish they had more than two towels in the room and maybe some at the pool. Also didn’t have a safe in room or any hotel info or local info in the room for viewing.

Gave away our room
Booked the room over a month in advance. Checked in tired at 11pm only to find out our room was given to someone else. Instead of two beds, we had to sleep in one bed with our 16-yr old son. Not even a sofa in the room. We obviously got the room they give last. Didn't even get a wifi password on checkin and the front desk wouldn't answer the phone so we could ask for it. On checkout nobody greeted us or asked how our stay was. Very disappointing and will avoid Holiday Inns in the future.

The reason for my overall rating is that the hotel never received my reservation from Orbitz. I was luck that they had rooms available and honored my printed confirmation.
What happened Orbitz.
The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful. I would stay here again.

It is definitely understaffed. Restaurant and bar were not open for the posted hours on a Saturday and Sunday. Room had many issues - broken tv, no hairdryer (which was never brought after I called the front desk), and toiletries were not stocked.

I arrived and it took 10 minutes for the guy manning the check-in desk to arrive to the check in desk. I was given a room on the 2nd floor. I stepped off the elevator on the second floor and immediately smelled marijuana smoke. The entire floor smelled of marijuana smoke. I asked for a new room and was provided one on the fourth floor. The desk manager neither apologized for the inconvenience nor for the fact that the hotel is a non-smoking hotel and yet it reeked of smoke. The new room's shower had dozens of spots with mold and mildew. I have stayed at multiple Holiday Inns in the past and this was by far the worst experience by a mile. I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you are in Roanoke and need a place to stay.

Our shower head leaked not much pressure, ironing board was broke had to hold it up while ironing, asked for towels gave my room number came back to no towels and only emptied the trash.

The hotel itself is OK. But if you’re looking for a place to eat, you can avoid the bar and restaurant down in the lobby area. It was never open and the drafts for the beer we’re not operable. Staff was ok and the room itself was clean. Probably would not recommend with all the other hotel choices around this area.

Restaurant/bar closed for dinner due to a banquet. Pre paid $17 for breakfast on Expedia App, because it was not included in the rate. arrived and it was $10. Breakfast staff approached people for a tip and then they wouldn’t have to pay for breakfast at all. Although no one seemed concerned if you paid or not in the restaurant area. On top of this, my pre paid reservation was there, but the hotel still charged me and I had to go back to Expedia to have them contact hotel to get my refund. The Hotel has 2 names- a bit confusing. Room was clean bed comfortable.

Property was lovely, but people kept walking by our window which faced a vacant field. There was a beat-up mobile home on the parking lot, that seemed to be occupied. I worried that our car might not be safe and that the occupants might be trying to look in our window.

Dangerous situation
Total of 8 guests were given rooms that were already occupied. I walked into a room that a couple was already there eating dinner. Very dangerous. They claimed it was a computer glitch.

The property was fine. My concern is with Expedia. Each
time I have used your service, the hotel has charged a higher fee than Expedia quoted. I have had to pay higher fees each time I used your service. They you would send me receips which I have never received. This is very discouraging. Thinking of not using

Found toe nails in the bed and pizza crumbs all over the room, and dirty rags all over the bathroom, and a burning smell coming from the shower. All the trim work in the hotel is coming off of the walls. All of the hall ways are dirty.

The location was convenient to downtown, Blue Ridge Parkway and Route 81. However, when we were going to take showers the next morning we discovered that we had no bath towels.

Nice property, but the restuarant was limited, the bar closed at 9:00. The next morning we went to breakfast at 8:45. The food that was there was ok, but many items were gone and not replenished.

The bathroom was not clean. The shower had black in the grout. We were also hassled by an employee at breakfast who told my husband to give him a good tip and he would let them in to eat. Kinda bold and rude. I paid extra for breakfast and I guess I was supposed to get a ticket for breakfast but was not given one. Overall disappointing this trip.

We lost power for about 3-4 days. The lady at the front desk was very kind to let us check in earlier that check in time. It was very stressful due to the holidays and Christmas being the next day , but she made the transition easier. She said she was new & I didn’t catch her name, but god bless her.

Check In Issues
This was a business trip booked for employees. The check-in process was horrible. This reservation was made online and paid for a week prior to the stay. Upon arrival, the employees were told that the room was not paid for. We sent copies of the confirmed reservation showing the payment. That was not good enough. We had to send a screenshot of where it was posted to the credit card and the front desk clerk still would not allow our employees to check in. We contacted Hotels.com who reassured us they were working on it. They were calling the hotel but not getting an answer. We travel to the area on a monthly basis and always stay at this location. I still do not know if the issue was the hotel clerk not knowing how to do her job or Hotels.com not sending the payment to the hotel.

The staff was nice and the room ok. The hotel is being renovated and guests are confronted by debris, dust, general crap and noise work on every floor. We paid 50 dollars extra to stay with our dog and the place was not safe for them because of construction garbage in every hallway.

Will not stay again.
We chose this Hotel as it had a larger gym and a restaurant. The gym is hollow sounding and the water jug was empty - both days. No basic directions on how to use the machines. Restaurant was very good. We understand they are in remodel mode. No water for coffee, I asked front desk and apparently no one has ever asked and use the bathroom water for their coffee. I only got one k-cup of regular coffee for the 2 night stay. They never entered the room during our stay to determine needs. Last night there, no hot water for one of the rooms. Turns out there was no hot water the next morning for any of the rooms. THEY KNEW THE NIGHT BEFORE the hot water was out and didn't give us the opportunity to move to another Hotel. No refunds, no partial credit, just got a "yeah we called maintenance last night, sorry." I will not stay there again.

Above and Beyond stellar SERVICE!!!
Great Service! Our flight was delayed, I called to let the Hotel know that would be checking in but not until after Midnight. The night manager had the shuttle driver stay later to pick us up! He arrived with our keys in hand so we could go directly to our room! In the morning they had the driver take me to pick up my rental car initially to the address on the Avis App address given which was their closed office and then to the Airport Avis pickup.

Overnight stay for airport . Check in was quick . Arrived in room that had no tv signal and loud sound from the lobby that my Window faced. Requested a room away from lobby/restaurant and moved to find working tv. One bed falling off frame. 1/4roll of TP and no spare roll in room. Workers were very nice, but hotel was a ghost town.

Awful experience
the room location was terrible, I paid a full price for a room that should have been 50% or even less... first floor across from the hotel laundry facility so the noise level was extreme ... i am not a light sleeper but I couldn't sleep! ... the corridor in-front of the room was not carpeted so I could hear every single foot step! ... I never has as bad experience as this with hotel rooms! ... when I checked out no one asked me how was my experience! ... if you have to stay in this hotel never stay in the first floor unless they give you a decent discount,,

I like this spot when I come up to hike, staff is friendly, came here when I fled the Carla inn. Spend the extra money, it's a bad spot. But yeah the Holiday inn has a restaurant that's pretty good too.

This hotel is new, modern and clean.
Only complaint is their restaurant. We were traveling from Arkansas to Philadelphia and needed a overnight stay. We booked this hotel because of the restaurant, but it closed at 9pm, without any places to eat nearby.
But it was a good thing: when we came for breakfast we were alone, service was very slow and food was awful.
If you stay here, never eat at their so called "restaurant".

The bar and eating area in the lobby is beautiful when you enter the building. The front desk check in idk what's going on there. The elevator was dirty, in our room 2 pillows where left with no covers just laying not on the bed but just on top of the extra sleeper sofa in the room (I have pics if needed). We asked for pillow cases and where given pillow covers with the zipper.

The room we stayed in was just above the lobby. Our window actually was to the lobby area. That is not a big deal, if the room was soundproof. We could hear everything going on downstairs and in our halls and in the next rooms... NONSTOP. It was not quiet at all. I woke up several times that night to loud speaking downstairs. I also couldn't get anyone to answer the phone at the front desk. And there was no instruction on how to order from the restaurant.

Our last Holiday Inn hadfans in the bathroom this would be a real plus. Otherwise loved the room layout. Trundle beds are a great idea! Mold was in shower, perhaps needs the old caulk replaced.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy. The room was generally clean (though not spotless--some dirt in corners and a dirty towel with makeup on it folded up in the bathroom) and fresh (no odor). The facilities were modern. My room was on the 2nd floor and overlooked the lobby area. Noise from the bar drifted up; it wasn't loud but it was somewhat distracting when trying to fall asleep. The bedding was comfortable. Location was close to downtown, though there wasn't a whole lot nearby. It was a good stay overall, and I might return if in the area again, though I would likely request another room that was farther from the lobby area.

Appears to be an older property that was remodeled. Room was in good condition and clean. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was nothing special and we probably wouldn’t eat there again. Fairly greasy.
Overall, it was a nice place for the money spent.

I was overcharged for both nights compared to what I was quoted on expedia. Front desk couldn’t help me. Total of $70 more!
First room they put us in was overlooking the bar and you could hear every single word people were saying. You need sound panels. The grounds are not well kept and there were numerous issues with panels/trim falling down.

Front Desk was amazing, room was comfortable but not cleaned very well. Toothpaste on the bathroom floor, hair stuck in a few towels still, chip crumbs on the floor next to the bed with a hair tie sitting next to the not emptied trash can.

The hotel was disgusting. We had to change rooms 2 times. The carpet had a crumbs all over it and the bedsheets had stains. The rooms smelled and overall looked like they had not been cleaned or sanitized. Would not recommend this hotel to anybody. Please stay away from this place.

Overall the room was okay. Few little things that were not clean. But the biggest for us was the blind was broke and wouldnt go all the way down and the black out or darker one you couldnt move down. Went and got a sheet from the front desk. Husband and i went back and put it over the window so it was covered. We were on yhe bottom floor and the security light's were right outside the room so we definitely needed something to cover the window.

Shower door stuck,couldn’t check temp of water before entering, broken/ missing toilet paper holder, not enough baggage carts(I was on fifth floor) needed to bring my things down took a while; paid for morning breakfast waited over an hour,had a cup of coffee,had to leave.

Good for one or two nights stay.
It was a good stay. There is not a free breakfast, as it is not an Express. I didn’t do my due diligence in checking that our before booking. The hotel has awesome decor. The room most clean, but there were a few areas into the bathroom that could use some work. You will need a car to get to anywhere you might want to go in Roanoke. There is very little in the area for restaurants or stores.

Checkin staff for friendly and courteous. General upkeep of hotel needed improvement. Hallways of hotel reeked of Marijuana, and load music played entire stay in other hotel rooms adjacent to us. Cheer Group were held during our stay, seems the underage kids should have been group closer together without general population being disbursed in between school groups. Hotel definitly needs to be cleaner, toilet was broken, when pressing the preselected buttons on hotel room phone they didnt work to connect you with housekeeping or front desk. Would not choose to stay here again.

Anniversary Trip
Booked room for a short anniversary trip. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The only not so great detail was our view. It looked onto the roof of the hotel kitchen. But hey, it was an anniversary/relaxation getaway. It was convenient to any place we decided to go visit with easy access in and out of hotel. Had a drink at the bar and sat outside on the patio which was a nice treat. The staff was always helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay there again on another trip to Roanoke.

There is a little yellow stain on the quilt on the bed
The room on the second floor is facing the headlight of the parking lot
No blackout curtains
Unable to sleep all night
A group of young people in the next room chatted loudly and burst into laughter until 1 am. No one stopped. Can't sleep at all.
The room is facing the elevator entrance, and the noise of entering and exiting is too loud. The soundproofing of the room is too bad.

Quiet, Clean, and Comfy
We stayed here one night while visiting Virginia. The room was spacious and modern. Great lighting in the bathroom. The water pressure could have been better in the shower, but I’m not complaining.

Hotel overall is in a good location -- I have to point out the stuff was extremely rude and unprofessional -- Checked us in while on their personal phone very very poor customer service -- Rooms are nice but its noisy and loud you barely can sleep -- Front desk area is like a super market! Higher management needs to focus on keeping the area quiet. I never booked a holiday Inn before but this experience was terrible and highly doubt i would go with the same hotel again.

Nice place to stay
The rooms were clean and well apportioned. Really liked having a frig and microwave in the room. Lots of outlets provided. My only complaint is that the housekeeping staff threw out the soap that I had only used the day before and left a brand new one in its place. There were no signs about what eco-friendly steps the hotel is taking. The lobby and bar areas were very nice and breakfast was very good.

The property was very nice, however an altercation between a guest and the front desk broke out in the lobby while we were eating breakfast. Screaming, cursing and it went on and on. No manager on site to de-escalate the situation and it was left to a member of the cleaning crew and the chef from the kitchen to handle the matter after the woman at the front desk ran away. Meanwhile, guests were trying to check out and get breakfast vouchers but couldn’t get anywhere near the front desk. We finally abandoned our meal and left asap because the situation continued to escalate.
That there is not a manager on-site 24/7 is enough to keep me from coming back here.

I didnt get my room until 1:15 in the morning. I arrive at 11:30pm. Front desk was managed by an incompetent male worker as the original workers were cleaning our rooms that late at night with the hotel booked to capacity and rooms were not clean. It was a mad house. They were some workers that suppoerted as best they could. We waiting for an hour and 45 minutes for our room. The food and service manager held the bar open longer to service us with drinks and conversations as we waited. The two ladies trying to clean were helpful and explaining to us what waa going and assuring us would get a room. The front desk lady the next morning qas helpful and asked for my story as I told her I would not being another night here, I qaa going ro another hotel.
