Hotel is going thru extensive renovations. No noise but no real amenities. Restaurant only serves buffet breakfast which is set out and left. The first days in our stay my husband and I didn’t encounter another guest. It was like deserted. We wanted to switch to a suite but were told they were full. Strange cause our car was the only one in the parking lot other than the workers. We chose this hotel because we stayed there 15ish years ago when it was the kirkley. And a lot has changed. As of right now there is no bar, no soda machine or anywhere in the hotel to get a snack after breakfast ends at 11am. The room we were given was spacious to the point of being sparse. No art on the walls. A area where curtains should go but no curtains just blinds. The room seemed so empty that the bathroom being so small that I could put my feet up on the tub as I sat on the toilet AND brush my teeth in the sink at the same time was comical if it wasn’t so claustrophobic. The staff were awesome and the bed was very comfortable. I’m sure once it’s completed it will be great. So far the renovations seem very “trendy”.

First time staying here. Sadly the cons outweigh the pros. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby and the common areas were very nicely decorated and clean. The room itself was very spacious and the bath towels were very large. Everything else is a con. Although the room was large it was missing a full length mirror and the furniture felt too small for the room, including the TV. The refrigerator in the dresser was too large and the door wouldn’t close. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, one step above sleeping on the floor. In addition the beds have a metal frame that makes a loud noise if you accidentally kick it, which was great when someone got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. One of the comforters also had stains on it. Although there was a physical vent in the bathroom it was not connected to anything and therefore didn’t turn on. The lobby had no water or coffee/tea set up except for breakfast time. The breakfast was very limited, which wasn’t so bad, except the juices were watered down. The gym also had no water. I’m not sure if they are still under construction but there were signs that things were incomplete such as a large tarp hanging in the eating area. Finally, the wifi was barely usable.

Fabulous hotel....BUT
When you walk into the Bella Vista you feel as though you have walked into a five star luxury hotel. The decor is spectacular. Check in was seemless. Linda was very sweet, informative and funny. Our room was spacious and clean. I absolutely loved the decor and amenities. Although the water was cold, the pool was great. I loved that the pool goes from 3 ft to 6ft and is long enough to really swim. Towels on the pool deck would be nice touch.
Our problem was the bed. Both, my teen daughter and I, had a miserable night. The mattress is very firm. Too firm!!! I was sore for a couple of days after our stay.
After I checked out, I was waiting for my daughter to come back to pick me up. Leah at the front desk was so kind and helpful.
I have to add that breakfast the next morning was very good. So much so that my daughter said, "Yep, we are just going to have to bring a mattress topper the next time we come." LOL

The Christmas trees and all decorations outdoors were beautiful and elegant and tastefully designed!! I was able to visit Santa too!!! The rooms were exceptionally clean to where I was not afraid to walk around in bare feet!!! The free breakfast was lacking however.

This was very close to LU and a good stay for the price. Hotel was remodeled but you could still tell it was an older facility. Rooms were large, clean and decorated nicely. Good price for an overnight stay.

Poor service from staff
For over an hour a family and a large party blasted music loudly with their door open and their kids running around while they kept yelling down the hall at them. The staff clearly knew the party because they were also hanging out with them in the lobby. Mind you this was from 10 to 11 pm and nobody on staff addressed this issue. We finally decided to leave at 1115 pm and drive over an hour home because of how loud it was. Even when we walked out the front door i could hear the music from the other end of the hotel. Last time staying here ever.

Hotel hires and protects their thief employees
November 4 , 2023 around 12:30 pm we checked (myself , wife and son) into the Bella vista hotel for one night stay. we had left to attend my son's football game and returned tot he hotel around 4:30 pm. We all had settled into the hotel room I emptied my pockets which included a pocket flashlight, wallet and folded bills of cash which was the amount of 1200 dollars on the dresser next the tv, along with my sunglasses and cigarettes' and lights. I then took and shower and changed clothes, then picked up my sunglasses, lighter and cigarettes' and exited the room to smoke a cigarette at the designated smoking area in front of the building. my wife and son also left the room about 1 minute after me to go down to the front desk to ask for more towels and go out to my vehicle and grab some more of our belongings. We then returned to the room and noticed some had entered the room and dropped off the towels we requested in the bathroom, which was in the back of the main bedroom. after about a half hour passes of waiting on a uber to pick us up, I then realized my money was no longer on the dresser where i had left it. We searched the room and we couldn't find it anywhere to make sure we were not mistaken about the money being stolen from the room. my wife went tot he front desk and told the receptionist what had happened and was meet with the shift supervisor. the supervisor then had an attitude with my wife and explained that has never happened. when then called the police to file

Restaurant was shut down, breakfast buffet was ok but scattered around and the worst part was the pool was ice cold. Rooms were ok but the caulking looked amateur at best. Basically this is a motel with lipstick on a pig. would not stay here again

I enjoy staying at Bella Vista. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially Linda. There are a few improvements they could make that would change my rating to excellent like, creating better sound barriers through the room doors, cleaning the water up in the pool area, putting a mattress topper on the beds so they don't feel so firm, and putting a full length mirror in the rooms. In spite of those improvements, though, I would/will DEFINITELY stay there again. I look forward to seeing the continued renovations. Keep up the good work, Bella Vista. Don't get comfortable with just being a "good" hotel. There's potential for GREAT!

The staff was tremendous . So kind and attentive. The hotel just went through a renovation . It’s very pretty . The restaurant/bar area is still not open as of November 2023. It’s expected to be back open in December . The only minor call outs would be the coffee (not great ) and the bed bases are made of a hollow metal . You constantly accidentally kick it. It bangs like a gong . Overall a GREAT value .

At 7 pm there was no hit lot neither in the tub nor wash basin. Tried calling the reception and phone didn’t work. Called from private phone line and the receptionist indicated to run bath tub water for 15 minutes. Did that and never worked. That was the disappointing matter. The receptionist was very courteous. Everything else was very good but no hot water after a long trip was disappointing.

Overall this hotel is fine. They are remodeling it but my room was very bare, the bed was uncomfortable and they only offer PlutoTV so no real tv. I think the hotel is fine as a 2/3 star hotel.

Check in was supposed to be 4pm but when we tried to check in at 3:45 we were told that our room wasn’t ready. The person at the front desk told me that a team was staying there and my room wouldn’t be ready any where near 4 probably closer to 6 but she wasn’t sure if even by then cuz they hadn’t left yet. She said she would call me when it was ready but she never called. Because we had plans starting at 6 we couldn’t get ready in our room and we couldn’t check in until almost midnight. The part that bothers me is that the people working the desk didn’t seem to care in the least bit. The breakfast was also the worst we’ve ever encountered in a hotel. Everything else was just ok. Not worth what we paid and won’t go back.

The decor in this hotel…oh my! I’ve never seen a hotel decked out quite like this one. As you enter, expecting the usual beige and green hotel lobby, you are instead met with a teal velvet banquette settee and a huge flower arrangement. The fall decorations under the outside portico were nicely done and included cushioned seating. Lots of teals, ivories and a few feathers here and there reminded me a little of old Hollywood meets New Orleans townhouse. Staff are very pleasant. The rooms, while not as showy as the lobby, were nicely decorated and clean and spacious. I would definitely stay here again when I’m in Lynchburg.

Glad we stayed for only one night. The room bathroom floors were dirty and the mattress was super firm. The room did not have a mirror besides the small one in the bathroom and you cannot control the room temp. However, the hotel decor, and grounds were immaculate. The ladies who worked second shift during my stay 10/22/23 were really polite and helpful. I would recommend you stay if the price is right and your not looking for comfort

Pool (and pool area) was FILTHY
Pool was FILTHY! (and cold, but "cold" is OK-ish). There were black scales/ashes/something all over the pool deck, in the water, on the chairs....EVERYWHERE! And not just the first day I was there - through my entire stay. I refused to go into the water, and the "indoor pool" was the main reason I chose Bella Vista over other hotels. I paid a higher price in hopes of being able to relax by an indoor pool. Was TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY.

Pleasantly surprised as it wasn't a brand or city we were familiar with. The decor is gorgeous and there are several "instaworthy" photo opps throughout the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a biz suite which was open and spacious and had a gorgeous bed.
My biggest disappointment was I didn't bring my swimsuit as it was a stopover on our journey. But the pool is absolutely charming and i hate I couldn't go swimming. They took a generic indoor pool area and turned it into a resort-like retreat. Brilliant!
Parts of the hotel are still being renovated but it wasnt noticable and didnt affect our stay. Hotel was very clean. My bf was happy with breakfast. My only suggestions would be the bathroom in the suite needs more hooks and rods for towels, makeup/toiletry bags, etc. And a full kength mirror would be grand. But the bathroom mirror was pretty awesome with soft lighting and a defogger built-in. This hotel is obviously a passion-project for someone.
OH! And the elevators are FREAKY FAST. Like faster than Jimmy Johns freaky fast. As someobe that travels a lot, it is the small thing that make a big difference. It never took more than 3 seconds to arrive when called or to take us to lobby or room floor. And I timed it i was so impressed.

A Nice Property that had a major facelift.
Overall it was a really good stay. The price was very reasonable and the recent renovations appear to have been completed giving the hotel a fresh, new look. Everything is clean and new. The only thing left is the restaurant which is still closed but they have another room where they served a decent hot breakfast which was included. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and we will be staying here again!

Our stay was good and everyone was helpful and kind. We just had a few hiccups with our experience…coffee maker had mold in it (it was cleaned or replaced after we told front desk), alarm in vacant room next to us went off at midnight for 15 minutes (told front desk and they finally came to turn off), had to get our room keys reactivated on second day (we didn’t leave near cellphone). I know they are still undergoing renovations because the furniture in room was sparse.

The property was in the middle of a remodel which when complete looks to be beautiful.
Only issue we had was that We were given a handicapped accessible room which was on the first floor and there was construction outside so we did have to deal with a bit of noise very early in the morning.

Overall, we were satisfied and happy with our stay. The hotel was under renovation during our stay with many items complete and some ongoing. We liked the overall cleanliness of the hotel, polite and courteous staff, spacious rooms, laminate hardwood flooring (which was different, but we liked it) and the hot and satisfying breakfast. Areas that could be improved include: dampening hall/room noise, installing exhaust fans in the bathroom, adding phones to the front desk in each room, mirrors and additional furnishings in each room, additional pillows on the beds, and we had a bit of light coming around the crevices of the door (from the hall) while trying to sleep. Also, would have liked to gone for a swim while we were there but the pool was closed. So, I know I’ve mentioned a bit to improve upon but compared to what other hotels were charging for the weekend (Liberty event weekend) I was satisfied with what we paid and our overall stay.

The room was huge and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The property was updated beautifully. They were still working on what appears to be a restaurant area. The room we were in had an echo it needed something to soften the hallway traffic. Otherwise nice place to stay. There is nothing within walking distance or an area to go for a nice morning walk but if you drive across the street there is a mall and the downtown is located about 3-5 miles away only accessible by car.

On first site I swear this used to be a hospital. Looks like an old converted hospital. Decor was cute but the building design screams hospital.
Tried to check in but the room was not cleaned yet and there was no estimated time of when it would be ready. Many guest where waiting for a room well after 10:00 pm. There was no discount on stay or offered restitution which was pretty tacky.

The staff was very nice. Although they were understaffed during our stay. The breakfast wasn't very good and it ran out of food or coffee two of the three mornings we were there. The floors are very uneven in the rooms and hallways.

NEVER- make a reservation with this Hotel
The first night was great, but when checking in there were 3 people at the front desk and it took then about 20 minutes log into the computer and the lady was unsure that I paid for the room, when I showed her the confirmation, she said that I still needed to pay for the room and incidentals, again I showered her the comfirmation that I did pay, she way very rude about the whole situation. Second, when we asked for waters, they said that they do not sell water, so I asked for direction to the nearest gas station to get a bottle of Water. The next morning we at a great breakfast where they were making fresh eggs and waffles, this was great. But the next day, when I was checking out there was nothing available, So I asked the same lady at the front why they didn't to have eggs and Waffle for breakfast and she said that they the person who makes the eggs called in sick. SO I asked if anyone else could make this and said NO they cannot and that's all we have for breakfast if you do not like it you can of to Denny's. So, we left and will never visit this HOTEL again.

The front desk staff were outstanding. The room was cleaned daily which was a pleasant surprise!
The down side was the silly App tv, some sort of metal base that the mattress sat on, I kept hitting my foot every time I’d get into bed and I also heard someone in one of the other rooms do the same thing because it sounds like a drum! The floors were cold and noisy because of the lack of carpets. I could hear the guests above us walking back and forth. Kids were running up and down the hall doing what children do, not sure where the parents were.
Overall it was a big disappointment since we’ve stayed here before they sold out to a flipper I suppose by the quality of the renovations.
They’ve removed the cushion on the doors that prevented them from noisily slamming shut. Now it sounds like Navy ship bulkhead doors slamming shut. Some of you will understand.
Even though the staff were extremely nice I’m afraid that the rest of the Hotel was a major disappointment!

Was told after I arrived to check in that there was $100 incident deposit. I booked for 2 adults and 2 children. This was not mentioned when booking the room other then that the Hotel is lovely. Wonderfully located. The staff were amazing. Will definitely recommend.

Newly renovated/still under renovation. Hip, clean, modern. Oddly enough, filled with old people. Even had a van that brings in old people from a retirement community… Not sure what that’s all about. The “free breakfast“ it’s just pre-wrapped sugary starchy food.
