Hotel is really nice but...
Hotel is really beautiful especially the indoor pool area and lounge. But bathroom is just rather small compared to other hotels. Shower pressure wasn't strong and water didn't drain properly in the shower on our 3rd day. Also, breakfast for $15 was definitely not worth it. It should've been included in the hotel rate. After trying it one morning, I would rather go out and buy breakfast.

Double tree that should be a single tree.
Young gentleman named Jason was great. The rest was average at best. When booking the room is says shower/tub yet only a shower with a very dirty floor. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable but that is what it is. We were woke up at 9am to housekeeping but check out isn’t till 11.
For the price and being a double tree I expect better. Next trip we will stay across the street at the Hyatt for the same dollar amount.

The stay was nice, but the room service didn’t come that much. The pool was nice but a little cold didn’t stay in pool that long. Maybe if the fireplace was on, the pool could be a little warmer. Other than that everything was real nice.

Bed was very comfortable but the two chairs in the room were not comfortable at all. Leaves you sitting or lying on the bed most of the time you are in the room. Adding a nice comfortable chair or couch would make the stay so much better.

Close to the highway. Overall a very nice place. Down pillows and comforter were nice. Decor was also well done. Downside is very dim lighting in both the bedroom and bathroom, with no moderate to strong lighting options anywhere in the room. The bathroom was actually pretty gross regarding cleanliness. Hair was left on the counter, some odd fungus was growing all around the hook on the back of the door. The most egregious was the amount of mold on the grout of the shower walls, the base of the shower and all over any surface of the glass shower door where glass met chrome hardware.

Check in and check out were a breeze. The room and hotel were both very nice, although our room was on the first floor immediately next to the pool, which was very loud and we had no natural light, just a view of the pool.
Hotel bar and restaurant were an added bonus that we enjoyed.

Front desk staff was professional and friendly. Room was clean. Pool wasn’t used. The treadmill was broken but nice to have the exercise room. Restaurant was good. Only suggestion would be extra coffee be prepared for the morning and add some flavored creamer.

The location was great, but overall the hotel was run down. The rooms were very musty. The bathrooms didn't have enough light. And housekeeping forgot to close our door. Very disappointing.

Cozy & Quaint
The room was nice minus the weird bathroom layout. The shower open only on 1 side having you step straight into the toilet. In other words take small steps getting out of the shower. The room had a nice relaxing chair to sit and watch tv at the end of the day to have coffee or tea making it feel like home.

The staff was great. We had a wedding there. The food at the reception was over done, but we were 30 minutes arrival. The only problem was the dance floor must be replaced. We had several trips, b/c the floor came apart on the corners, even after taping down.
Overall a very good stay.

Very clean hotel with great accommodations. However, front desk staff was unwilling to assist with minor issues with Expedia that were halting the reservation. Eventually was fixed by myself but the front desk did not assist whatsoever when they should have

Our rooom was exceptionally small, we had to keep curtain closed all the time because the window was right in front of maintenance closet. Bathroom light would not work. Inquired at front desk they said they would move us but never happen, never sent anyone to fix light. Server in the bar Friday night made us feel like we were an inconvenient and Saturday night they had no food! Will not book again!

Unsupervised pool full of shrieking splashing children and their drunk parents. Weak coffee. Bathroom assembled backwards so I must squeeze past toilet to enter/exit the shower. Door to outside near room doesn't close or lock. We can hear every room around us and hallway.

When we arrived we noticed the carpets and elevators were very dirty. Then other guests had room door open and were loud. There were empty pizza boxes in hallway. Asked for another room. The room itself was comfortable

I always stay at the Doubletree Harrisonburg when I’m in the area. There’s always a lot of shopping and restaurants nearby, and the hotel is welcoming, clean, and comfortable.

The lighting in the room was very dim and the lighting in the bathroom was Horrible. We where given a room overlooking the indoor pool. We had a hard time getting a to sleep because of people using the up to 10 pm. They where so loud it sounded like they where in the room. I did request to be moved but all the rooms where full . The rooms were very dusty.

I liked the pool area. The restaurant and bar are great. The staff is wonderful, friendly and helpful. The only thing g I didn’t like was the side door was broken. You didn’t need a key to get in. It was fixed initially when we reported it and then next day broken again. Felt a little unsafe as 2 women traveling alone.

I was pleased with this room. I never found the wi-fi password though. Also could not reset the clock. No TV station guide.
Your bar was out of red wine,had no Stella beer and didn’t have any VO whiskey. Not good.
Light dinner was good. We didn’t stay for breakfast this time. Last time wasn’t good. You had run out of fruit, pancakes and your home fried were cut up French fries.

Rooms are nice and clean. But the restaurant is pricey and the food was not up to par. Bar tender also took all the money for a tip when it was for my check. He took the money and charged it to the room. I gave the hotel a week to refund me and they still havent. Wont be back.

Not up to Doubletree standards
Did they just buy an old hotel and put the Doubletree name on it and give out cookies? I'm sorry but that doesn't make it a real Doubletree. The interior public areas are in terrible condition (take a look at the elevator floor, for example). Inside the room, lots of nicks and scratches and the shower handle had detached from the shower wall. Cleaning is poor and slow; the carpets were dirty. Someone had dropped popcorn in the elevator when we went in at 8pm and the next morning when we left it was still there - only also stomped on tracked down the corridor. Most of the staff were friendly but the lady at checkout didn't even make eye contact when asking how my stay was and saying goodbye. These things matter. I should have saved $30 and stayed at a Choice hotel, it would have possibly been newer, had friendlier service and would definitely have had free breakfast and a microwave in the room! Overall, very disappointing. Oh well, at least the cookie was still good.

The heater for the indoor pool was out, and the pool was the primary reason I booked this hotel. My 5 year old was extremely disappointed. This should have been listed somewhere before booking, especially considering the front desk said it had been over a month

I particularly asked by calling the staff if the swimming pool was working or not. I confirmed while checking in as well. I was told yes. Drove out of the way to bring kids to this hotel for the pool. After checking in, there was a big note that the pool heater was not working. The staff didn’t mention that at all on other occasions. And we only realize after wasting our time and money.

The bedding had dirty spots, bed was uncomfortable and pillows were very flat. The pillows and bed are personal preferences and understandable. However, the dirty spots on the comforter and pillow were gross, half a roll of toilet paper and an end of Kleenex box. Not professional and disappointing on our couple trip out of town for once. Sad.

Would not recommend. Sink had dirt covering the bottom….at first we thought it was part of the design and then we touched it and it all wiped off and we realized it was dirt. Called front desk to come clean and she said they would … never cleaned it. Carpet in room was dirty. Whole vibe was just icky. It did not feel clean at all and I would never stay here again.

We got locked out of our room, still a nice hotel.
Pretty room, friendly staff, but our door lock broke. We struggled with it the entire time we were there, but during our last night it wouldn't let us in. Maintenance came and fixed it rather quickly and they changed the batteries and removed the battery acid that was in the door. It took maybe 30 minutes, but it was upsetting when being told hey we might not be able to get your items until tomorrow (when you are leaving early the next morning) and we probably don’t have another room for you tonight. It was also loud in the mornings, but that was probably just the other guests not being considerate while they walked about the hall at 6:50 am every morning. I would definitely, despite that experience, still consider going back to this hotel because of the great price and the atmosphere.

What stood out on this stay was a Monday evening in the small Connections Restaurant conveniently located in the hotel lobby area. It was staffed by outstanding employees, bartender Brandon and Chef Delena. Although it was a bit a bit on the expensive side, the the quality of the food and beverage offerings were top notch. Brandon greeted everyone who came in and was friendly and attentive to his customers. Chef Delena cooked up tasty dishes from a limited menu, including a wonderful chicken Alfredo I enjoyed. Gourmet burgers seemed to be popular with others. A major added bonus was the regular Monday night live entertainment provided by the talented singer/DJ Billy Bob Wolf who, went on at 7 pm. He sang a great range of songs, mainly country. For those who can sing or just want to sing in front of an audience, they can do karaoke. After tough drives, the chance to unwind at Connections was a welcome surprise. In addition, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful and promptly contacted maintenance to address a minor problem in my room, which was quickly resolved.

Why does it have to be so difficult to log on to Wi-Fi?
And I know I have an honors number out there somewhere but no one can ever help me find it. I think I’ve signed up for it several times but I certainly don’t get any “rewards” EVER.
Please let me know if it is worth anything to be a part of the honors thing.

Family friendly. The indoor pool was very enjoyable on a hot summer day; the outdoor pool was nice as well. We had a room directly across from the indoor pool and could smell the chlorine. The noise from the pool could get loud, but everyone respected the pool hours so by 10PM, all was quiet. Despite those issues, we would book the hotel again. We’ll request a room away from the pool!

Pillows in room were flat and made for a restless night. Staff was friendly. Found out that breakfast is not free in the morning which costs $15 and not worth it to me. My room was poolside and could hear everything until about 10pm. Everything around the hotel such as shopping was convenient.

Had a great sleep. Had to call maintenance for assistance with internet access, but they were very helpful and pleasant. Pool was quite cloudy, very chlorinated so skipped using it. Otherwise, a very good visit.

It is close to downtown, but not much to do in downtown. The indoor pool room flooring was flooded and there were way too many people in the small pool. There was no outside area to sit in. The room was very nice and quite comfortable. My room was noisy because it faced a busy road. There were no road or attraction maps available and 2 of the staff were unsure how to get to downtown. The hotel location was a little difficult to figure out how to access from the road…driveway not visible. Breakfast buffet was expensive but a lot of variety and plenty of it. Ok for a one night stay.
