Everything was lovely aside from the inability to stream anything to the TV’s. I’ve stayed in numerous rooms and no streaming or apps (MAX, Netflix, Hulu) to log into your own accounts from. Forcing you to watch TV on your phone. For the price, it seems like a basic accommodation. For the record, I’ve stayed here 4 times and I love everything else about the place. The staff is incredible.

Booked this hotel for just a quick overnight stay. Hotel is very nice and the staff were very helpful and addressed our needs right away. First room that we checked into smelled very funny almost like a food or old smell. When I notified the front desk they quickly reassigned us a new room that was actually bigger than the first. Not many outlets for devices and the shower door scrapes the cement tile which was already chipping off around the entrance of the shower. Overall it was good for a night or two but definitely could use more frequent upkeep.

Trash cans on concrete sounds at 6:50 AM
The hotel and service was good. Nothing over the top but clean and the people were nice. They actually gave me and ungrade on the room.
My problem with this hotel was that on Saturday morning at 6:50 AM I was awaked by what sounded like ten people pulling trash cans down a sidewalk one at a time. It was strange because my room was on the 16th floor. I scheduled a later flight to sleep in a bit before returning home. That was ruined by getting awakened so early.

Amazing hotel in great location!
We loved every part of our stay! Helen, at the front desk, made sure that we had two rooms for our family of four and was amazingly accommodating. Our rooms were great and comfortable. Room service came every day and we would definitely stay here again!

The room was small and the decor was nothing like the pictures. No table to sit at. Toiletries were empty and no outlets near the nightstands. Definitely not for business travel.

The hotel was nice. But, I left my pillow in the room and I called about it the next day. The person I spoke with said she would check with housekeeping and get back with me. She never got back to me.
I called two more times and still didn't get anywhere with your staff. I was transferred to housekeepings phone and her mailbox was full so I couldn't even leave a message.
No return calls or any bit personal assistance to help locate my pillow, or rectify this issue.
Yes, it's just a pillow, but I also had a pillowcase on it that I loved. So I'm out the cost of a pillow and pillowcase.
Will not stay in you hotel again.

Beautiful hotel, a few complaints
The hotel is cute. I'm considering making it my go to when I travel to Chicago for work. The shower is spacious and the water pressure is great. Spacious rooms, and I like the seating area in the king-sized room. The Malin + Goetz toiletries are a huge plus. The re are two things that make me hesitant to return. There are abominably few plugs in the room. I travel with an extension cord, and I had to move the side table to plug it in to have enough outlets for my devices. Also, the cleaners leave the toilet seat up, which is gross. They should flush and leave closed after cleaning. I was just thinking of how nasty my belongings are now that the cleaners flushed with the seat up. Also, the hotel restaurant doesn't allow you to take your drink to your room. I found this incredibly odd. I travel a ton, and have never encountered this. The bartender was also super negligent, and made me wait nearly 20 minutes just to order a drink.

Beware of the Urban Experience Charge! Basically you’re paying for things other hotels give for free/include in the upfront price. The things that might actually be a perk weren’t mentioned at check-in. I found out what the charge was for by scouring their website then finally finding it in FAQ. The hotel itself is nice, but I’ll never stay there again because of this charge.

The windows are not well insulated. You could hear all of the noise from outside. Comfortable bed, large bathroom, and space in corner room. Small elevators as well.

Ben at the front desk was an absolute gentlemen! He made sure I was checked in within a few short moments.
Security and staff at the hotel were also very tentative to the property. My hats off to them as well!
I was upgraded to the queen suite which I highly recommend for anyone at the hotel. Bathroom and tub combo with two seperate sleeping spaces in room.
This hotel was an absolute dream. Also Trader Joe’s located across the street

This museum is wrong. Every piece of “art” has naked or halfway naked children. I don’t care what you think “art” is but this is NOT IT! There is no justification for every piece on the wall to include nude children that are underage. This hotel should be SHUTDOWN and all the the proceeds should go to the children involved in this. Too many pedophiles in this world and you have a place where they can come and freelance at underage children at their will?!?! I will never be returning to this hotel. I will make sure I go to ALL extents to have these pieces removed and this hotel exposed for the creepy elements that they are exploiting and banking off of!!

There were 3 hotels I booked during my 2 weeks trip in Chicago. 21C was the first place I stayed at and it was the best among the 3!
The room was new, clean, planty of space and it has a big bathroom.
The stuffs were friendly, cheerful and very helpful. The frontsdesk personal were very helpful with whatever request or questions I had. I don't recall all their names however I remember Francisco. Thank all of you at the front desk for your excellent services!
They make room daily, I had to hung the do not disturb sign for them to skip the cleaning.
The museum open 24/7 it was nice to go look around at midnight with no one around.
The only 1 minor thing I had was that they give 2 aluminum water bottles per room. I stayed in 2 queen beds there were 3 of us. We ask for 1extra bottle so 3 of use would gave 1 bottle each, the hotel didn't give. That was odd. I almost gave 4stars, but it would be silly. I like the hotel so much to do that.
The location is fantastic. It is close to the riverwalk, shops and restaurants. Trader's joe is right across, Eataly is around the block and Marshall is at the corner.
Will I go back? Yes!
Will I tell my friends? You bet!

Great Business hotel! Needs some tweeks.
Great business hotel, centrally located at the corner of Rush and Ontario. Walking distance to many restaurants, etc. Super clean, comfy rooms. The only issues I find is that does not have enough outlets for all the electronic gadgets used today, cellphone, laptop, etc. And the ones it does have are hard to reach etc. Water pressure in the bathroom was lousy.

The property is an old hotel that has been freshened up inside with a modern feel. However, upon arrival at around 6.30pm we checked in - it was loud an noisy because housekeeping were cleaning vacuuming the area at 6.30pm!!! The elevators were the very tiny, old style and the carpeted floors were filthy - clearly not swept or cleaned throughout the day. Bits of paper, tissues etc on the floor. Hallways on the two floors our family stayed on were both dirty with bits of leaves, paper and generally unclean debris scattered around.
The rooms were somewhat cleaner but our king size suite was very dusty. It smelled like the heat/ac filter needed replacing. Room was amply sized, bathroom was large enough and decor was minimal but stylish. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Because of the dirty floors, hallways and dust in the room, I have to give this hotel a 6.5/10. Food in the restaurant was good, staff at the restaurant and front desk were polite.
Overall quite underwhelming for what I hoped for at over $500 per night.

We really enjoyed the stay. The museum was nice and the hotel was centrally located. My only criticism would be the mini-bar refrigerator is unsuitable to store any food that you bring back. An actual mini-refrigerator is definitely needed in the room.

It was my husbands birthday weekend and J wanted to stay at a boutique hotel- somewhere we’ve never been before. I booked us a Deluxe King room- because I obviously enjoy sleeping next to my husband comfortably. We checked in- and walked to our room. Upon entering- we noticed two full size beds. We go down to the front desk and reiterated we booked a deluxe king room. Front desk replied with a nasty attitude “all king rooms are sold out” so we changed your room.
At no point in time before or at check in was this related to us… and when we bought it to his attention he reiterated we could just che k out of we weren’t happy- and that a refund would take 7-10 days. Terrible service, terrible staff attitude, poor way to treat customers and will never return.

Our room was dirty. They had a fabric showers curtain inside the BATHTUB. It felt disgusting showering with a shower curtain hanging. Unfortunately did not notice there was no walk in. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. Gave us two room temperature complimentary waters. When we called the front desk and asked for ice we were told “the restaurant is open”

Ben at the front desk couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming. This was the first leg of a multi-stop vacation for me and my son, and we remembered the shower at 21c Museum Hotel with such love and joy. Such a beautiful bathroom, such yummy-smelling and luxurious products, and oh the amazing water pressure!!! I could have lived in that shower. We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Nice location. Plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping close by. Casino is only on the next block, although it has not opened yet. Only issue was you could hear the subway trains. My boyfriend is a light sleeper. When we arrived, he wanted to take a nap before dinner due jet lag. However, due the sounds of the trains, he couldn't. I didn't notice the trains after the first day.

The 21c Museum Hotel was a great place to stay. My son and I stayed here to watch Inter Miami play the Chicago Fire. The hotel and rooms were unique and very comfortable. The are around had lots of options for dining, coffee and easy access to a CVS and Target for items we forgot on the trip.

We've stayed at a lot of 21c locations. Staff was great and we enjoy the hotel restaurant which is unusual for us
Facilities are not up to other 21c locations. Very noisy, sleep conditions bad both nights. Improve windows and other issues to reduce noise. Elevators too small for the size of the hotel and they have poor appearance. Had to request a robe and no slippers. Side note, my wife jokes she won't stay at a hotel without robes or slippers. The room didn't have drawer storage for clothes and also no in room safe. Available TV stations also an issue. Our room couldn't get many of the stations, I purchased a second room for my daughter and they were able to get the stations that I couldn't. ( mostly stations that offered the sporting events that I wanted to watch)

I must say I was taken by surprise! I didn’t expect 21c to feel as great in person as it looked online, and I was right. It felt amazing it is every tourist dream vacation. Honestly I’d hve to say it all started with this Hotel 21c Museum. If u want to have a good time in Chicago, I’d say “ Start with 21c Hotel there’s no way u can fail! “ If not the best, by far one of the best hotels located Downtown Chicago

The21c museum hotel was Amazing! We had a corner suite and it was like home away from home! Very spacious, updated, beautifully decorated and designed. I was super impressed. The bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping came every day! It was a fabulous experience and I will definitely be staying here again! Excellent location near shopping, activities and plenty of food choices! Love, Love, Love!!

The hotel was warm and inviting upon arrival. The staff were helpful and found accommodations for us before the official check in time. Everyone we cam in contact with were friendly. The rooms offered simplicity but attention to detail on the important things like, dimmers for all the lights, a small shelf in the shower, and a seating area that wasn’t at a desk. A great place to stay in Chicago.

The rooms are spacious and sparkling clean. The location is perfect for exploring Magnificent mile and walkable to places of interest like The bean, the Buckingham fountain,etc…

Museum was cool and the hotel is in a convenient location with lots nearby. Room was very clean and service was good. Only issue we had was a couple small things not working in our room, blinds wouldn't open and the coffee machine didn't work.

The only issue that I had with the hotel / our stay was the “experience fee” that was automatically added to our stay. While I understand it in principle, it was not up front or transparent in our booking processes. It was only when we checked in that we were made aware of it. I get that this is a gallery / museum hotel, and that the art is part of the experience. And while I am always happy to support the arts / artists, $25 per day is a little steep for the experience offered.

The location of the hotel was great. Close to everything we wanted to see. Staff was friendly and beds were very comfortable. They upgraded us to a suite which was unexpected.
