I really liked our stay here. The parking across the street isn't ideal, but it didn't really bother us. There steps to get up/across/down to cross over the highway might be hard if you had really small children or have trouble with climbing 2 flights. honestly though I think the cost for valet was the same as self parking anyhow, so you could just do that. The valet's were always available and got the cars very quickly from what I saw. However for us we didn't mind it really, we only left the hotel twice. Everything we needed was right there which is why I would give it such a good rating, it had a great restaurant for all three meals of the day, seating indoor and outdoor by the ocean to have your meals, an extremely warm heated pool (we swam in pool even though it was a cold january day), the beach access was awesome, starbucks and gelato stand were an added bonus, and proximity to the arts district (9 mins drive) wickham park (13 mins drive), and orlando airport (60 mins drive) were all worth it for us. staff was really friendly, our room was updated and very nice/new, and had a balcony looking toward the pool and beach. I would definitely stay here again.

Valet Parking
Stay was great except for not knowing about the Valet parking, and we had stayed there many times in the past. Had conflicting information about the requirements from the person who checked us in and the Valet staff. Was told by hotel employee it was mandatory, but was then told by Valet employee it was not and you could park your vehicle without charge, but it would have to be parked across the street from the hotel. Hotel employee also said charges were separate and had to be paid directly to Valet company as they were contracted. Valet company said at the end of our stay that it could have been charged to the room.

Thank You SO much to the Crowne Plaza Melbourne-Oceanfront for kicking-off my New Year 2024... in style!
I arrived on January 1st New Year's Day from across the pond, England, for 3 nights, until the 4th.
I was travelling to Melbourne for work. My work schedule and meetings began on the 5th January. So beforehand, I wanted to arrive a few days earlier to relax and unwind on the beach. I was actually previously booked in to a different hotel a little further along the beach. However, when I started reading all of the reviews for all of the oceanfront hotels in Melbourne, I noticed the Crowne Plaza's General Manager, Alan, replied to every single review... good, bad or indifferent. This really stood-out to me. Here is a GM who takes great pride in his work and his hotel. This hotel, because of Alan, got my vote of confidence. So, I cancelled my reservation with the previous oceanfront hotel and booked immediately with the Crown Plaza Melbourne-Oceanfront... and it was the best decision I could have made!
While writing this review, I noticed I can only use 1,500 words so I will be leaving a more in-depth review elsewhere. Very quickly...

The Very good: The members of staff contacted me politely by text to inquire about my stay. I was able to tell them that the thermostat in my room hadn't been working, and they sent someone up to fix it on Christmas day, which I was very appreciative of.
The bad: perhaps the hotel was short-staffed, but at neither check-in nor check-out did a bellman help with my luggage (and I had a lot, as I was in town to see family for Christmas). Luckliy, the carts were readily available, so I loaded my items on the cart and took them to. y room, and then at check-out, to my car myself.

For the historic name of Crowne Plaza, you don’t get much. The location was great, but the food choices on property were lacking. Terrible menu and low quality food. It needs a quality restaurant suited for its name. The room was nice, but small and lacking amenities.
Sorry, won’t be returning.

Nice property but no place to shop or walk to. They offer free shuttle tho to pretty much anywhere you would like to go within a reasonable distance of course. Staff was great!! They gave us a late check out of 2pm! Who does that??

Overpriced for what you get . Rooms were filthy and the beds were horrible . There was trash inside and outside the hotel . The couch has stains and the tile floor in the bathroom was loose . No door between the living room and the master bedroom . Pull out couch was extremely uncomfortable. Will never come back .

The parking here is horrible. You should have kept the lot next door. As much as I love this hotel, I might try something different next time. To pay $16 to park across a busy street with the option of running across with no crosswalk or taking a bridge with a ton of stairs, really not fun.
Other than that I love this hotel. I have stayed here at least 5 times and it has never disappointed me. The food is great, I love the rooms, and the customer service provided at this hotel.

No Buffet on Mon-Tuesday and restaurant menu whilst stating Oat meal availiable for breakfast not availiable meant that purchased meal vochers useless we went out for our breakfast!!
Compulsary use of Valet parking due to our inability to climb the precipitus stairs and bridge across a busy main road and the cost would have made us find alternative accomodation in future had we known in advance ,not disclosed on web site!!!
All in all not satisfied with our stay

For a Crowne Plaza, it did not meet our expectations. Rooms were average. Beds at least comfortable. No water bottles in room. Ice machine wasn’t working on our floor. AC was quite loud. We turned up the thermostat just so it wasn’t running so much. Very limited channels on tv. Not even standard local selection with basic cable. Valet was subpar. They admitted they weren't paying attention and missed our request for our car, then brought us the wrong car. Room service came in take away containers in a grocery bag with plastic cutlery. Missing items and food was terrible. Green bananas, overcooked bacon, mushy pancakes. Motel 6 quality with Embassy Suites price tag.

Had difficulty getting wash cloths. One for 3 adults. Next day none. Sink really small. No where to even sit toiletries. Needs a small table in bathroom for toiletries. Plenty of room for it. Had to use ironing board in room for toiletries.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Didn’t have to leave the hotel because everything we needed was onsite. The gelato, food at the restaurant, and drinks were all good. Super convenient that Starbucks is served near the lobby. We will stay here again!

Beware: the parking is not free, at all. You either pay to valet or pay to park at the parking lot accross the street. But still pay. Also, the parking is not managed by the hotel, it is contracted to an outside party. So you pay them not the hotel.

The hotel was great. Clean and the staff was super nice. The pool was clean. The food was delicious. The alchohol beverages were delicious but, not enough alchohol in them. I had to buy 5 piña coladas you feel a little buzz and, for me it only takes 1 margarita from El fenix. So, bring your own drinks. We always had clean room, clean towels and even pool towels. The only complaint I had and speaking with 4 other guests. Because i am from the south and super friendly. We all had the same problem. WHEN WE RESERVED THE HOTEL AND THE OTHER 4 FAMILIES. WE REQUESTED AND SPECIFICALLY ASK FOR ONCENFRONT VIEW. BUT WHEN WE GOT TO THE HOTEL WE ALL GOT PARTIAL VIEW. WE WERE ALL TOLD WE HAVE TO BE VERY VERY SPECIFIC ON SAYING DIRECT. EVEN IF WE MARK OCEANVIEW OR SAY FULL OCEANVIEW. I personally never had issues with any other hotels with the reservations when saying OCEANVIEW. I was very disappointed with my partial view.

The engineering staff is excellent. My AC unit was loud and would bang loudly throughout the first night. The engineering staff came first thing in the morning to evaluate it. They were able to vacuum the water out of the bottom of it. Thank you!!
What they call a community balcony is just an outside walkway to the room. This needs to be made clearer in the room description.
The desk staff was not as helpful. When I told them about the ac unit banging around at night, she told me I would not be able to change rooms until engineering came by to see if they could fix the problem. Then they told me that if they could not fix it, I would need to be present to get a new room. So I would have to spend my day waiting around the hotel if I needed to be moved. if I did not, I would have to remain in the room with the broken AC unit. This seemed a little unhospitable.

Crowne Plaza Melbourne June 30 - July 3, 2023
The bed was too soft and the air conditioner control did not work. Could only set AC temp to 70 degrees. Also, I did not know the self-parking was across the street with a charge of $16.00 a day. Next, during our first night at this hotel, there was a loud party in 2 connecting rooms next door after mid-night. We called hotel security twice and they could not get them to be quiet. At 1 am we called the local police and they came and shut the party down.

Im going ti try and make this quick: I like that you can text the front desk… they have a restaurant in the lobby… yet I called for an hour and no one responded. No food delivery so I had to eat from their over priced snack area. $28 for 2 one pint milk bottles and to small bags of chocolate chip cookies, salad and Doritos…. No parking. You must pay for either $24 a day valet parking or park the car across the street for $16 a night. Pullout sofa broken on one side . The metal hinge came loose making it tilt.. my son slept balancing his body for two nights.. paid for umbrella and 3 chairs $55 to sit until 5pm ( this is all day for them) and guys were picking up chairs since 3pm and took away our umbrella at 4pm stating it was going to rain and it was an emergency… I asked if they would discount the price and the guy said “ you are the second person to ask me that. It’s an emergency , no” … mind you it didn’t rain until we’ll after 6pm… the Pool was super crowded, people sitting on the floor drinking and smoking regardless. Spoke to Beth the front manager and she said she would comp 1 night stay… NEVER HAPPENED… she wanted me to talk to the manager of valet but as I was done with her and we were trying to head out to eat breakfast, I walked off. He was standing near her but he was waiting for me to approach him and not taking the iniciative to speak to me knowing I wasn’t happy with the service. I won’t be staying there again.. they don’t seem to really care about the guest.

It was extremely noisy outside. And once the noise calmed down outside. Everyone came inside. There’s kids running down the halls, moms screaming at said kids, we can hear EVERYTHING outside which made us feel like they can hear us. Me and my friend were so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep. We did an early check out before midnight. And the clerk helped us and essentially said contact Expedia so they can help with the refund and Apologized. He was super helpful fixing our issues and helping us find out valet key. Which also … why have valet ? If they just leave at 11 ? It’s quite pointless. So many couples were asking about valet trying to park while we were trying to just get out of there. Never in the history of ever. Have I left a hotel room because I was that uncomfortable. I would like a refund please.

Under construction and no onsite parking, unless you want to pay for valet parking. Parking is across the A1A highway (5 lanes) and you climb 2-3 flights o stairs to cross a cross walk above A1A. Also room staying had 1 elevator for 5 floors and waiting for elevator was a little lengthy.
Really expected a nicer room for the price.
Regretted booking only ocean view was at elevator for said room.

Booked a hotel, almost 1 months in advance, I called them three different times, requesting side-by-side rooms, which was not done, disappointing. A lot of construction inside and outside of the building. Food was OK expensive, three alcohol drinks cost us $60. Been to a lot better beaches in Florida will not be going back there. I must say we did enjoy our family vacation, have enjoyed other places better

Everything was great but we won’t be staying here again mainly because we didn’t like the parking options. Not having free anytime access to our car was unexpected and not comfortable.

I like this hotel for the beach, pool and adorable oceanfront restaurant. The property however is a bit run down and there is a charge for everything.
The property no longer has onsite parking. Guests have to pay a hefty parking fee to park across a busy street at a remote lot with poor access. It felt dangerous and was very inconvenient.
The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff were gracious.
The restaurant food was overall good.

We had 3 problems. The main building is a hotel. The side, unattached building is a multi-level motel. 1st was taken care of quickly after we communicated our disappointment with the room (motel, dark, dingy corridors and elevator, sink outside the bathroom). We were moved into the main building and it was a huge improvement. 2nd was this new room was infested with cockroaches (the desk said they were palmettos, but they looked and behaved like roaches). The front desk was going to move us to another room, but none were ready, and they were not going to let us check out the new room (we voiced concern about getting moved back to the motel building and didn't want to lose the balcony and partial view we now had). We never heard anything more from the front desk and ended up staying in our room. It was a busy weekend and we wondered if they could not give us a room similar to what we had. We dealt with the bugs (mainly at night and no food in the room). 3rd was with the parking. There is a daily fee for use for both valet and self-park. Most guests choose to self-park and you need to use a pedestrian overpass or take your chances crossing a busy 4 lane road. There needs be a street level pedestrian crosswalk for older guests and guests unable to climb multiple stairs. Pedestrian crosswalks are everywhere along the route, except at this hotel. Other than these issues, we would have had a wonderful oceanfront vacation experience. The tiki bar and live music was a big plus.

I will admit it is convenient that this hotel is right on the beach. However, unless we physically walked back there, we had only a spacious view of the roof top. Never mind they don’t mention construction right next door or that there’s little to no water pressure. Was the person at the front desk accommodating? Not really. But hey, if you pay for the valet parking and figure out your way to the beach shore or pool, you’re great. Oh, don’t forget to google the Resturaunt downstairs either, they don’t provide you with a menu or extension number.

The property itself is located on the beach in a lovely location. The bar is convenient as well. Staff are nice. However, the rooms are listed as oceanfront and most are not. They are coastline view, which means you are facing up or down the beach. At the moment, there is construction next door to the hotel. So the “ocean view” is a crane and construction workers. It’s false to say the rooms are oceanfront. Your balcony will not overlook the ocean. You would need to stand on the edge of your balcony and lean over to see the ocean behind the crane and workers. The price is comparable to true oceanfront rooms. That said, the Hilton or the Radisson would be better choices. We were truly disappointed after traveling across the country to a falsely listed oceanfront room.

Beautiful location right on the beach, only fault we experienced was the lack of cleaning! We were there 3 nights and never had cleaning service come to our room once. We had to go to the front desk to get more toilet paper and coffee. We put the sign out two days to have the room serviced but no such luck. Disappointing considering the amount we paid for the room.

So many things I did not like about this property, more so than the things that I liked. The staff were uncaring and unhelpful to the point of rude most of the time. Some guests received breakfast vouchers and some did not. Long weekend trip
I have been coming here for a few years when visiting family. Front desk service was very good. The property is a bit run down and the restaurant wait staff is inattentive. The room was relatively clean. There is major construction next door and consequently no longer onsite parking which was now expensive and inconvenient. The hotel is not luxury. Elevators do not always work and corridors are dark. The bar music and vibe was very nice though. All in all a little too expensive for what it is, which is disappointing.

The room wasn’t horribly dirty the floor needed to be swept and mopped. The toilet would flush completely we had to fill a trash can to pour water in the tank to get it to flush completely. The lever you pull to turn the shower on was stuck my husband has to get pliers to try and pull it up. Beside the pool and beach there wasn’t anything for kids to do. The parking arrangement is horrible you either pay $24 for valet or you pay $16 daily to park across the street. The hotel isn’t enclosed so pretty much anyone from off the street can come in and walk around. Definitely not worth the price. The staff was great though

Beware parking few
$24 for valet parking and $16 for self parking (plus $7 tip) in an area where free parking is the norm is not acceptable. This is not Miami Beach especially after paying $276 a night for a view of the dumpster.

The parking is across the busy street (no cameras either) and you have to pay for a spot even if you don’t valet park. They use Fabuloso cleaner, which stinks and it gives me a migraine. I told them about it and they didn’t offer a discount. Had to air out the room immediately, thank God it had a balcony door! The AC was super loud, It was super cold in the room and it wouldn’t adjust. Then it wouldn’t come back on until you were sweating. Wanted to have a nice pleasant time for our nephew’s birthday and it was ruined. Thank God it was only one night! AVOID!!!! Not worth the money! Oh and it’s under construction too, but they don’t offer a construction discount.

Please read-there is a new hotel being constructed next door which they didnt let us know and assigned our room right on the side of construction. At 7;00 a.m. the equipment starts and you are awakened to the sound of reverse beeps for the rest of the day.

Hotel is great. Was not happy with valet staff. They were kinda rude and did not provide useful help for dropping off or picking up customers at the entrance of the hotel.

I stayed at this property for my annual solo birthday trip and as a solo traveler I definitely felt safe! The property was newly renovated and well maintained. The beach area was beautiful and very clean. My room has a king bed and oceanfront view that was breathtaking! I would definitely book again!

We stay at Crown Plaza most Christmas' to see family. This year the parking lot was no longer there. We understand that a new hotel is going in where the parking lot was. This said, our experience with Valet parking was a15 ona scale of one to ten where 10 is the best. It was freezing when we arrived. The 2 guys handling valet parking were spot on, helped with unloading, listened to our request (we were leaving shortly), were riendly yet professional. Non valet parking was across the highway. The price for Valet parking is well worth the reasonable price. Hats off to these guys.

The carpets in the room were very dirty, they don't put soap in the showers, the restaurant prices are expensive, the showers clog easily. The only positive is that the staff is friendly.

Stayed Doubletree about a mile down the road three months ago & was far superior & significantly less $. My room had NO water pressure, AC unit was ridiculously loud, they charge $26/day to park, live music from lounge is offensive when trying to rest. I’d never go back here.
