For a dated hotel, it was maintained and cleaned well. Disappointed that there were no keto friendly items for breakfast sure to equipment failure. Other than that, it was fine.

Affordable but not great
Hotel was under renovations but was told our room was already completed. No place to hang any towels (bath or hand) in bathroom other than over the shower rod. Extra small toilet seat on toilet, felt like I was sitting directly on the toilet bowl rim. Some crown moulding missing on window wall. Carpet was dirty and I doubt it had been vacuumed before or during our stay. First time out of shower and walking on carpet,
my feet were black and covered in crumbs. Made sure to always were my sandles whenever in the room..fresh out of shower or getting out of bed in morning. Breakfast was strictly continental with NO HOT protein options as they said their oven was broken. Only one elevator that was extremely SLOW with terrible peel and stick plastic tile sheets…very tacky

Would rate it 5 stars except there was no breakfast the 3 days we were there. The note said the oven was broke. Another thing house keeping only came to clean the room at 4:30 and we were back everyday at 4 so the room didn’t get made up, but place was clean and the staff was friendly

Last minute stay. We booked because it said that breakfast was included. Next morning was bad. Just bagels and cream cheese. Not even coffee mugs.

Pool closed; no warm breakfast, no cups for coffee
This was a pretty disappointing stay for a holiday inn. Not sure if they are trying to compute of business; change ownership but it felt like they are just getting rid of inventory and not restock .
The worst was that they let us check in without a word of the shortcomings for a 4 day stay, no word of apology, warning or offer to make up for it. Looking through previous reviews it seems it’s not the first time this happened; and while there are responses suggesting management has read the suggestion to bring in wrapped breakfast sandwiches or give coupons to ihop next door; nothing at all ; and no change in 4 days… all the front desk suggested was to talk to the manager; but no info on when where and how to meet them. I would expect better than that from a holiday inn. On a positive note the room itself was pretty nice.

Only good thing was convenient location.
The hotel was very dirty with misty and moldy smell in the rooms and hallways. The carpets in the room were stained with sticky spots. The towels were stained. Phone was not working. The toilet flush was extremely week. The water flow in the shower had a very low pressure.

all the receptionists were very friendly and accommodating. I didn't have a lot of requests, however but the little I had was no problem. However, the housekeeping needs improving.

I have stayed at many holiday inn expresses, and know what to expect. The area in general is sketchy, when I arrived there were a couple homeless people sitting on the ground on hotel property, and there was a drunk guy on the third floor sitting with his feet on the glass of the hotel window. During check in the staff was great. I went down for breakfast at 7am the first day (it’s supposed to start at 630), nothing is ready. A girl comes out and has food a few minutes later, eggs (which were fine) and sausage that was overcooked and inedible. The pancake machine was out of batter. I’m not picky with food under the circumstances, I’m expecting gas station quality food. One of my room keys never worked, the second one stopped working at one point and I had to go to the front desk and have it reprogrammed. I was under the impression that all holiday inn expresses were about the same, this place was like a super 8.

Hotel staff was very efficient, helpful, and friendly The hotel was quite tired. I understand it is to go through a renovation, it is greatly needed. The day we were there the kitchen was out so no hot breakfast but the attendant in the dining room was excellent.

The breakfast was great with a lot of choices. The room itself was good, however the carpet was disgusting in our room and in the hallways. Otherwise staff was pleasant and the room and bathroom were very clean. One other thing was the bed was very hard, felt like an older kind with the springs still in it. I felt like I was sleeping on the floor, hard.

Great location!
This hotel is in the perfect spot if you’re planning to visit Everglades or Biscayne Bay National Parks. Both are just minutes away. It’s also a great place to stay en route to the Florida Keys. It is a little outdated and the walls are thin, but we could tell the hotel was in the process of remodeling and painting in several areas while we were there. We would probably stay here again because of the location (and once they finish remodeling).

I booked before 1pm on Saturday 7/29/23 and i booked a normal room. When a i checked in about 10pm, the check in went smooth at the counter and i was assigned room 237. When i went to the room I discovered that I was assigned a toom for the handicapped. I returned to the front desk to ask the receptionist guy why didn't he tell me the room was for handicapped and he tried to downplay it. He then told me that was the last room available. I went online and saw other rooms available but i was so tired from a 12 hour shift, i just went back to the room. However the bath is not designed to stand in and shower for an able bodied person like me and as such I did not get to shower properly because i had to be constantly holding on to the rails. I feel like I was discriminated against and I am planning to take this further

The neighborhood around the hotel wasn't great, but I was pleasantly surprised by the inside. It was newly renovated and very clean. The rooms were big and the staff was great! It was a little bit of a drive from Key Largo, but the drive was worth it since it was a quarter of the price of the Key Largo hotels.

Arrived and found AFTER i entered the shower that a bar of soap was left from previous guests. My room faced parking lot right next to lobby and there was only a shade- no curtains- therefore my room was illuminated ALL night from the parking lot lights. Arrived at 7:45 for the continental breakfast and found only boiled eggs, cereal with NO milk available, no sausage, no bacon, a few English muffins and oatmeal that was very runny. The coffee was good. Was supposed to stay two nights left after one. Worst experience ever at a holiday inn.

Big dissappointment
Arrived and sent to our room, it was already occupied yet the key worked and opened the door, thankfully no one was there and a potential tragedy was averted, they gave my room away to someone else. Found me another room, not what I had reserved. When we left for the day when we came back our key would not open our door, had to go back to desk again and get new keys again. Very good location but I will never stay at this hotel again. Very poor security.

Very old hotel, smelly and filthy room. My sound found a cockroach in the bathroom. Totally disgusted by this accommodation. Time for a total gut job renovation or just tear it down and start over.

The hotel was booked on line for one night… we were passing through to Key West. Over the years, we’ve had great experiences with Holiday Inn & didn’t hesitate to book. Once we arrived, we found the condition of the hotel unsatisfactory. I’m sure it was wonderful when it was new…maybe In the 70’s. Everything was very old & smelled musty. Terrible! There were hardly any cars in the parking lot, now I know why. The floor was coming up in the elevator, carpet in the hallways & our room stained & dirty, bathtub old & yellow. We just couldn’t stay there. We’ve never written a bad review, or any review for that matter, but we expected more from Holiday Inn Express. Buyer beware. ☹️
The nice lady at check in said she couldn’t refund our money since it was booked through a 3rd party. So, we found another room at a different hotel anyway, if that says anything. Hotels.com, please do the right thing & give us a refund.

I have been trying to call the hotel for 3 days now to complain. When I got there at 11:30 at night from work there was no running water in the building, then I got to turn on my ac because the room smelt like mold and was hot and the ac did not work. I should get my money back.

I stayed one night with my husband for New Years. We wanted to hang out at the pool and relax before the dark. We remembered seeing the front desk sign stating pool hours ended at 8pm, but when we were about to go out the exit door to the pool, there was a sign on the door that stated pool hours ended at 5pm, and it was exactly 5pm at the time. Then about 45 min later after going back to our room, we heard laughter outside our window that faced the pool, and a family were in the pool. That was disappointing because we were following the rules even though the signs had mixed messages. Our second disappointment was we were awaken New Years morning around 9:05 by the fire alarm in our rm..it was extremely loud. I went to the front desk for assistance, and the attendant didn't know why it was going off, he asked me if I smoke, and I don't smoke. He said he'll come to our rm to check it out, but we decided to check out because the noise was unbearable.

OK, so for the most part, the people were super. I think it is management who are to fault with any shortcomings.
I had driven each day awaited lot and wanted to chill at night in my hotel room watching TV. That's the problem. No where in any material does it say they do not offer but 4 channels due to their negotiation with cable or satellite complain its.
The room was $606 for three middle of the week-non holiday- nights so I paid a lot of money compared to other properties.
The other huge problem was the heating or AC unit. If would help if I could set the thermostat for a temperature but I had to figure to turn on heat or cooling, fan speed, and there is no way to tell what the room temperature might be. I caught a terrible cold from this that ruined a good bit of my vacation exploring Kew west and the Everglades due to congestion and a running nose. All I wanted to do was get my room with 4 channels.
OK for good, breakfast was in this category--the typical continental fare.

Unfortunately a maintenance man let himself into one of our rooms w/o knocking & our daughter was horrified. We promptly left & were told we would be refunded for the second night stay, for both rooms, since we were leaving- but they never processed the refund. Really scary.

Very nice from the outside and the entrance, had no compassion and kind of rude of the phone although I ask from my booking for early check in, didn’t happened had to wait from 10am-2:30pm before they could let me in, very disappointed because I had an early flight I was super tired.
Secondly, the AC was like a car with transmission problem alllllll night long on top of every turn on the bed some extra noise, bathroom was filthy, the bed had some stains it was a terrible first night.
Finally ask to be move to a different room, as a couple they gave us two full size bed were we couldn’t be with each other or get intimate. The food wasn’t the greatest either, very little of choice, some uncooked oatmeal, burnt turkey sausage and coffee with ground, but I did like the decor and some sort of cleaning.
In conclusion it was a pleasant experience as I’ve been to different Holiday Inn hotels in the past, this one wasn’t my favorite unless they do some very good updates.
