Definitely my "go to" hotel going forward, however, 2 issues: the elevators had a bad smell and the toilet, at times, wouldn't flush. My sister had to request a plunger.

Amazing stay :)
The room was a decent size for the five of us. It was clean and the staff provided us with what we needed when we asked for it. The kids enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was good. The staff was also very friendly. We would come back if the opportunity arises.

Excessive pet policy fee
The stay was excellant. The room was clean and comfortable.
However, we probably wouldn't stay at a Hampton Inn again due to their pet policy fee of $75/stay

The staff was very courteously, and the facilty and room were very clean. It would be nice if they had a blower switch in the bathroom to keep the mirror from fogging while taking a shower.

It was quiet, the room was really nice and the smelled clean. The thing that I didn't like was that the toilet in the accessible room was too low and the opening to the shower was a little awkward.

I liked it here; the staff was especially helpful. Just leaving this so people know that there are no microwaves in accessible rooms, but if you ask they'll let you use theirs.

The property was perfect for visiting at Shaw Air Force Base. Easy parking and close to restaurants and stores. The property could, however, use some updating. It looks like it's been a while since being renovated, staff was friendly & helpful.

I was charged an additional fee for each room when i arrived there. So on top of the cost of the room it was more. My room had no drain plug for the bath. The other room the water ran brown for the first few minutes. I book on the premise there was a hot tub which there was not. I cancelled my return trip and rebooked elsewhere.

Hotel lobby rooms and pool were very clean. Staff is very friendly. The hotel was having a issue with the hot water heater so water was off when we arrived upon being turned back on the hot water ran brown for a long time a couple of hours. Cold water was clear so we ended up taking a cold shower to get ready for a concert we were attending that evening. The next morning the hot and cold were both clear however the hot never got hot it was just barely warm we let the front desk know. Hope they get the issue fixed soon. Nothing really to do in Sumter but would stay again if I ever needed to return.

Great stay and welcoming housekeepers
We met two nice housekeepers while entering the hallway we were greeted by Erleen and Joanne. Good knowing you’re staying somewhere where there is good hospitality the two ladies also told us anything else we needed for our room to let them know while they were finishing other rooms

Nice hotel - enjoyed the stay. The only negative feedback is - there were no forks for breakfast even at 6:30am. There’s no reason an establishment that offers breakfast daily should run out of eating utensils.

Stay was okay, nothing spectacular.
Never been to a hotel with no extra pillows for guests. Pillows are well broke-in and flat. Free breakfast was free breakfast. Wasn’t spectacular but it sufficed. Waffles were decent, eggs were not. Sausage Pattie’s were much better than the kielbasa they served the first day. Room was mostly clean, until I found a bag of garbage from someone else that was missed by staff. No big deal, the trash was just empty liquor bottles. Stay was okay but definitely been to nicer hotels for the same budget.

I have stayed there several times visiting my mother who lives nearby. I have to say a big shout out to Mary who makes breakfast in the morning she’s always with a smile and so sweet and helping everyone get the breakfast in the morning.

Wouldn’t stay again
Bed and bathroom were clean but the bathroom fixtures (light, faucet, shower bar, toilet shutoff valve) had finishes worn off and some were rusty. Asked for an extra pillow, desk person went to the back room, came back and said they didn’t have any extra pillows. Said he found one in a closet but it was dirty. I asked if hotel was full because they could get a pillow from an unoccupied room. He said hotel was at capacity. I checked online and could have booked a last minute room for the night. Frustrating that you can’t get a basic hotel item. Also, the floors in the public spaces were not vacuumed. Saw the same dirt and candy wrapper the whole time we were there laying in the floor and elevators.

Ok but not great
The hotel and rooms are nice, clean and smell great. The guy up front at check in was not welcoming or friendly. The ladies that we spoke to earlier in the day when we first got to the hotel were rude. Great hotel but the workers could use some training in customer service.

Service desk was great. Breakfast was great. Bed was great. We switched rooms bc the first one which was on the 3rd floor had a cat like Oder. Second room was great. Only problem was my toddler dropped his ball. It went under the bed - and yikes - looked like a years worth of dust and left overs from other guests.

The service was good Mary for food service was outstanding. The only problem I had was housekeeping only not once they don't give you a chance to come to the door and they're already opening your door and this was each time they came and on one occasion they almost got my husband not dress this is not cool so my suggestion to you is that your housekeeping give people a chance to respond to them and not open after they knock once I'm coming right away other than that it was wonderful

Great, clean hotel!
The hotel was clean, breakfast was served cafeteria style, the rooms are spacious and clean. Each room is cleaned and sanitized daily. The hotel staff were all excellent and accommodating (especially Mary in the breakfast room!). We will definitely stay here again!!

This hotel will give toir room away woth out notice.
I was detoured and ran 2 hours late for check in, i called to let them know i was running late and they still gave my room away. So agter travelling for 10 hours woth kods in the csr i get to hanpton inn and they cant even ficeme a room. Vert inprofessional last working rhe front desk. Avlid this hotel.

They canceled my reservation without notice
I drove up from Florida to South Carolina. When I arrived to check and I was told that my reservation has been canceled. I am a female traveling at night. When I got to my destination I did not have a room because my reservation was canceled. It was very unsafe for me to be in that situation because they canceled my room and gave it to someone else. My room was pre-paid. I was not given any kind of noticed that my room had been canceled. This was a complete inconvenience. And I had nowhere else to go that night. When I visit Sumter again, the Hampton Inn will not be an option to stay.

Floors during pandemic could be mopped more often, a spill on first day still there on second, rooms were emasculate, hospitality in breakfast and with staff excellent, smoking area too close to doors and hallway, smoke odor very strong.

Everything from the ease of booking to getting to check in early was great. Then we got to the room and upon entry it looked great but as we entered the room there was a distinct smell. It was the smell of ammonia from cat pee. I know they don’t allow pets but you gotta overhaul that room!

Good location. Air condition not working in multiple rooms, musty wet smell all over second floor. Asked for a room change but was just given a fan to make up for no air conditioner. TV channels very limited. Most channels would not work. Will not be back here.

The parking wasn’t bad at all. I had to switch rooms because the 1st room smelled like mildew and the floor was wet. Once I got in the second room carpet was dirty in both rooms and the balcony door was rusted

Disappointed This Time
We usually have a good experience with Hampton Inns, but were really disappointed this time. The room was dusty; there was no glassware nor paper/plastic cups in the room ... nothing to use to make coffee so had to go down to the lobby to get cups for that; toilet kept running after flushing unless we took the top off the tank and reseated the flapper (they did have a plumber come to fix that the next day); shower curtain was not big enough for the tub, so wound up with a large puddle of water on the floor after showering. Nothing super major, but not at all what we expect from Hampton Inn based on other experiences. Would not stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect except the clogged drain in the tub but we call the front desk about the issue and a maintenance person was there within 10 minutes and the issue was resolved in 15 minutes.

The hotel was good in general but I expected better from a Hilton Family hotel. The room smelled dusty and although the bed sheets looked clean they didn’t feel nice, however, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.
