the hotel was clean , however they tried to cancel our stay without letting us know. we drove down from ohio to florida to find out someone cancelled our room for the week because you’re supposed to let the property know you’re still coming two days prior and pay the first nights price to hold your spot however i was unaware due to choosing the option online to pay at the property and due to the fact that they tried calling me 1 time only while i was at work and did not leave a voicemail letting me know anything and just decided i wasn’t coming and cancelled. luckily they were able to find me a different room after a lot of frustration but if they hadn’t we would’ve just been out of luck after a 17 hour drive. so be aware.

When I entered my room there was a worker in there on the phone. This was not very sanitary to us. Thank god we had our lysol with us. The front desk was notified.

We enjoyed the hotel and our stay. Really liked the kitchenette w/ fridge/microwave/2 eye stove top/dishwasher/dishes/toaster/utensils/cookware/cups, etc.
Check in didn’t go so well. I booked via Expedia and upon arriving to check in, I was told my booking was cancelled. I had no idea it was cancelled or why. Luckily, they had an available room with 1 bed instead of 2. They had us an extra rollaway bed waiting outside our door when we came inside. We were so thankful they had any room available during the 4th of July weekend.

The staff at the front desk was friendly, but, check in took FOREVER. For some reason, the poor lady had to make 30 mouse clicks and wait for several minutes to get me checked in. Why? I had a reservation. The room though was NICE! It was clean and had several unexpected and nice amenities. There was a full kitchenette with all utensils one would need for cooking as well as a full compliment of dishes and silverware. A full size fridge and microwave was also there. The room was also fairly well updated. It was noisy though, as you could hear every footstep from upstairs. But then again, that degenerate was stomping the whole time, so i can't blame the hotel too much. A nice place overall.

This was a pretty good hotel for the price. It was clean, safe and quiet. We didn't get exceptional service but again for the price, we didn't expect that we would. We just wanted everything to work, not have problems and this hotel delivers.

The property was very nice, the rooms were very very clean. We were a little disappointed because 17 days prior to making the reservation we had reserved a king sized suite and the 1 nights payment was taken for the 3 night state. When we got there, we had no king sized suite, we had a queen one.

Room not properly cleaned
Everything was well until I was about to take a shower and discovered shower mat, which was rolled up in the corner, had blood on it and was sitting against tissue with blood on it as well. Gave me the impression the room was not thoroughly cleaned. I felt disgusted and disappointed. This should have never happened if they would have cleaned the room well.

They charged my acct 110.00 over the Expedia rate which you have wait days to get it back. Multiple people complained at the front desk about extra funds removed from their accts. Front desk person was great when I arrived. The one I spoke to at checkout was horrible and refused to give me a receipt. Clean inside but I won’t stay there again!

This was a good place to stay if you want to be away from the touristy area. There are many restaurants within a few miles. I felt safe staying here and walking and around the neighborhood.

Great hotel and exceeded my expectations. It was a last-minute booking and the staff gave 5-star service. My room was very clean and tidy and I love the shampoo and conditioner. I love the pantry in the lobby as well. Thank you and well definitely stay again!

Could be great with minor changes
The hotel is adequate. It's nice having a full size fridge and cooktop. Free onsite laundry is also very helpful. We found the room needed more cleaning, especially the floors and bathroom. Noise was a big factor in our disappointment of the hotel. Very thin walls and front desk staff who aren't interested in helping midigate excessive noise from room parties.

Tried to check in 1.5 hours after booking thru Expedia, Hotel did not have the check in info yet. While waiting on hold with Expedia NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
, Was hassled by Undesirables hanging around front doors. Staff was at a loss on what to do with them. We never finished check in. We left UNHAPPY!

The hotel met AND exceeded my expectations; and the staff were easily the primary reason for that. I had carefully researched properties in the area by reading reviews written by guests. I stayed at the property overnight on 2 successive weekends, soo I had the chance to interact with different staff members. They were ALL pleasant, accommodating and took excellent care of my elderly mother who had to wait on her own until either my brother or I arrived. She felt safe, respected and cared for. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the common spaces and the individual rooms. It was a well-appointed apartment away from home, tastefully decorated with conveniences like an outdoor grill, a 24 hr (self-service) gift shop, 190+ free channels on cable (with a tvguide). Even movie channels were included. Full sized refrigerator, dishes and dishwasher all en suite. This property is now on my radar for future trips to the area, and kudos to them for succeeding where so many fail. I am now inclined to strongly consider other Candlewood/IHG properties… not because of millions spent in ad campaigns but because the staff represented the brand so well. The experience was so far above the price tag. A sincere thank you to the staff from our family!”

Property appears new. Nice large partially fenced in grass area for my dog. Employee was extremely scared of my dog, which made it hard for her to assist me with a question, may need to include the need to interact with guest pets when hiring.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is very clean. The staff is friensly and helpful. This was a good location. Near the beach, but the peice was good. Our room was huge and the beds were very comfortable. They had a littlw shop with conveniences. We were in a bind and they had what we needed. The pool is small, but was never crowded. They have a nice covered picnic area with grills for use. The traffic in the area is terrible, but it never interupted our sleep. There are great views from the fronr facing rooms. The beach is just across the street. There is a nice playground a dog park just across as well. Overal we had a great stay. We have family moving to the area so we will be utilizing this location when we visit.

Check in was honestly bad, the front desk has issues with the tax exempt that some of the military members had been trying to use. He was so soft spoken no one could hear him. About 5 of us trying to check in and we waited 20 minutes each to check in. Nice looking place and fairly clean but not using it again.

We had 2 queen beds and a kitchen area, which was all roomy and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but were impressed with the full-size refrigerator, stove, and everything you need to make meals -- dishes, cookware, etc. in the room. The a/c worked great, the mini-mart had everything we needed. We had an EV and they had trouble getting the charger to work, but eventually did get it working. Parking lot was well lit and we felt safe. Staff suggested Okaloosa Island and we LOVED it at John Beasley Park. We had a great 1-night stay on our way driving home!

Frustrating snd disappointing.
The stay started out good but then we were kicked out of our room two days early. Our reservation was not honored and was cut short due to an error made by an employee.
We booked two rooms at the Candlewood Suites hotel in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Our reservation, was through June 5, 2021 but due to an error by an employee we were kicked out of our rooms on June 3rd. We traveled over 1400 miles from Colorado Springs, CO to Ft. Walton Beach to visit our Granddaughter who had just had a baby. We were staying through June 5 to celebrate her birthday with her before leaving back to Colorado. On June 3 we were on the highway, about ten minutes away from Panama City and we get a call that we have to come back and move out of our rooms. We turned around and went back. I showed the front desk our booked reservation for the hotel and asked them why we had to move out and why couldn’t they find rooms for the people coming in but they said we had to leave. Here we are trying to enjoy the last three days of our trip and a whole day was wasted, panicking about where we were going to stay, trying to find a room, finding a room and then having to pack up and move everything. We lost out on our trip to Panama City and we had to cancel reservations for a boat ride to see the dolphins. We couldn’t reschedule for later because they were booked for the rest of the day. Our Granddaughter lives in a one bedroom apartment and couldn’t fit seven additional people.
