EWA towers were not as convient to use, elevators hard to fond, some not working. Diamonhead tower much nicer, no keys elevator. Music was loud by pool , right under our room 1413.

This hotel is quite old and the insulation is not that good for noise coming from the hallway. we had a loud kids neighbor who was screaming all the time and could not sleep well.

great room,wonderful view of the ocean. Housekeeping kept our room spotless. Towels and beach chairs supplied for going to the beach was a great perk. Enjoyed the farmers market at the Hyatt twice a week.

Amazing property! Great for family, great location, farmers market, Fridays hula show. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Staff are great. This was our second time staying at this location. We will definitely come back next January.

We were with held from sitting in a certain area and was told it was only for higher end type people by the hostess, so we were seated away from the balcony, and by the time we were done with the buffet dinner that we reserved and paid the same price for(high-end or not), no one showed to sit in that area. We also were told that in the $180 buffet that we were limited to two soft drinks. We asked the manager about it, he didn’t understand why we were told that. There were birds landing on the table boldly and the table we sat at was dirty, the silverware that I received still had dried on food, which I was appalled. This was occurring while I was talking with the hotel manager, Harriz. We went to the Sheriton hotel for dinner an I was treated as a king in comparison. We go to a Hyatt hotel pretty much everywhere we go, and have never been treated as such.

This property was amazing! It was in the perfect location and walking distance to everything. There was tons of shops inside the hotel and the staff went above and beyond. It was very clean and a beautiful hotel.

At first , we were unhappy with the property due to the fact that a very loud construction site is behind the hotel and it just didnt feel like a vacation with the loud noise. But after voicing our concerns to the hotel staff, they immediately moved us to a more quiet location. We paid for a city view and are grateful for the staff making accommodations. They were all friendly and helpful pointing is in the right directions. The hotel is a little dated but it is clean and there are plenty of dining and shopping options. The location is just perfect. Especially if traveling with kids like we did.

Upon checking in Our room got changed to 5th floor right next to the elevator. Since we were on the lower floor it sounded like water noise from showers were there most of the time, day and night and someone keeps knocking our door and leaves by the time we open the door. On our last day we plan to go jacuzzi around 8pm and when we went there, we were told that they have some party going on so can’t use the jacuzzi until 9:30pm and it closes at 10 pm. It would have been nice if we were being told earlier

Found a couple hairs on the bed/pillow upon arrival. Bed cover had multiple stains and carpet had skid marks. Good shower pressure and spacious room tho! Nice front desk service too.

There is no elevator that goes from lobby/street level to floor where my room my. We have to carry baby in a stroller all around the property to take 2 different elevators to go to room. Not clean, there were hairs in the bathroom. The a/c stopped working middle of the night, ruined baby sleep, we have to call maintenance at midnight to fix it. Overall really inconvenient, really old hotel, won't recommend to anyone

The property is definitely old and tired. The room we had was spacious but the furniture was old and it looked like they started to repaint and didn’t finish.
Pool was great. Location was as well. Service and food at Swim were lacking.
Towel service beach chairs were readily available.

This Hyatt is worse one I stayed.
It is outdated and everything is old.
There is one elevator only from ground to 2nd floor check in counter, no detail sign instruction to there, no ones help.
very poor insulation in room. you can hear sound from everywhere, never stay there again

The location was good . You could walk to stores, the beach, and the Kai coffee shop in the Hyatt was good.
What I did not like- the hotel needs to be remodeled, the hotel room
Pillows were flat & did not support your head, bath towels were average- no bath sheets,no extra toiletry amenities like cotton balls to remove makeup, no hair nets, etc, Rooms were barely decorated- one wave print, rooms were a shade of green, elevators were not large enough, no paper maps for the hotel property, we checked out at 12:00pm- we were not guaranteed a complimentary room to shower in later. The hotel has 1200 rooms. They should have a few designated rooms for guests to shower and change in.

What made this stay great was really the morning breakfast staff! These people are so amazing. So accommodating & so much hospitality. They knew our family by our last name as we had the breakfast buffet every morning. Just get use to the white pigeons that try to beg for a meal. The staff tries to help with that too! The morning buffet was always amazing w/ a cook that makes omlets, fresh fruit, pancakes, french toast or waffles. There is some butter that starts with a "L" that is amazing!

It was my first time staying at Hyatt Regency Waikiki hotel. I booked a room with ocean view and expected to see at least a part of the ocean when I entered the room. To my surprise, there was ZERO ocean view UNLESS I went to the balcony to look for the ocean. My room was in Diamond Head tower facing West seeing the other Hyatt hotel tower, while the ocean was in the South.
I immediately went back to the check-in counter to ask if it was a mistake, and the CS said my room was indeed ocean view because I could see the ocean from the balcony! Later a manager came out and offered to switch me to a room (facing south east) with a partial view of the ocean, which Hyatt classified as OCEAN FRONT (not ocean view) as a one time courtesy. I used to stay at ocean front hotels across the screen from Hyatt Recency (Outrigger, Moana Surfrider, etc.) and the STANDARD rooms that I stayed all had view of the ocean from the balcony. The hotels never classified this standard room as ocean view and charged extra like Hyatt Regency Waikiki did.
I just wanted to share this review so that future guesses who plan to book an ocean view at Hyatt Regency Waikiki have an idea of what to expect.

The hotel is at a great location with quick access to beach, restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, our room was dark and old, really needs to be remodeled. And, the hotel’s buffet was disappointing.

We did 2 bookings and front desk totally messed up our booking. One of the staff even told us, because we did not book through their hotel website, so they can't see the system. As the customer, we got nothing to do with your system, front desk staff need to be trained in customer service, which need to solve problem for customers. Terrible front desk staffs with impolite manners, ruined our Christmas break in their facilities.

All good, except desk help. At the time of check out, I requested to extend my stay for 1 hr ( from 11am to 12pm) because my flight was at 4:40pm. They blankly refused. But ready to extend one condition if I pay extra money for 1 hour stay. Room cleaning does not take four hours ( 11am to 3 pm ) & for these 4 hour customer pays to Hotel.
Anyway, overall it is a very good Hotel will all amenities

We enjoyed our staying at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach. The hotel is located at a prime location in the fabulous Waikiki beach area, overlooking the beach, and at walking distance to a multitude of dining and shopping options. The hotel is exceptionally maintained, with smiley friendly staff and with exceptional amenities.

The hotel room has lost tongs behind the dresser along with other garbage items . The rail on the balcony was a little loose. I stayed 5 days and got married and nothing. I was charged an extra 250 off dollars on admission that wasn't specifics previously which created a hardship as I was getting married and planning.activities

Hotel had an ooen air fewl very tropucal and several free shows that included fire dancers. Literally right across the street from beach, food and shops. Pool and spa was fantastic and open late. Very close to some hidwn local food spots. Alot of activities on island have pick up at Duke statue whixh was 10 ft from hotel. Very busy area...if you want to be in the middle of it all!. Free Pink Trolly pass to!

The housekeeper staff were super friendly. Rooms large and close to all amenities. As soon as you walk to lobby or main streets, lots of shopping and nice and safe to walk around. Like the Monday and Wednesday local makers they have downstairs in the plaza.

This was a typical Waikiki resort hotel. Super convenient, easy access to shops and restaurants, nice amenities, but you pay for it. I knew and expected this up front so it worked out well and met expectations. Nothing stood out, but nothing was lacking. I’d stay there again if I needed a Waikiki beachfront hotel.

50 year old hotel which has not been renovated within the last 10 years. Interior furnishings show years of wear and neglect. Hotel front desk staff ( June) were difficult to deal with in terms of offering solutions for hotel deficiencies. Many other newer properties within the area offering better rates and accommodations. This is not a good representation of a Hyatt Regency hotel

This is a very centrally located property that is close to the beach, shopping zoo, etc. so it’s great for kids. Property is a little bit dated compared to others in the area, and the swimming pool is tiny… But ocean and amazing beach is just across the street! the staff and the all the employees are wonderful to work with, and overall we would definitely recommend it!

The property is very outdated. The ceiling in the restroom had mold. The hot water in the restroom took 10-15 to warm up. For the price it is not worth it. The pool was dirty. We cut our vacation short due to this. We did not enjoy our stay. However, the property is in a convenient location walking distance to all stores and the people are friendly.

We dont usually stay at the Hyatt when visitng Waikiki, but decided to try it this time. The location is right smack in the middle of the Waikiki strip, which makes it close to everything. We got an ocean view room, which has a really good view of the ocean and waikiki strip, despite not being an ocean front room. The room was nice and the bathroom updated, but some of the furniture was a bit dated and weathered. We had a really good time staying at this hotel. The only big demerit and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the elevators. They only have 4 elevators per tower, which means you are often waiting in a long line just to get on the elevators, regardless of what floor your on. We learned that we actually needed to add extra time in our plans to accommodate the extra time to ride the elevators whenever we left the room for an activity. Otherwise, it was a great trip and we would stay here again.

Stayed one night pre-cruise. Very busy lobby area with shops and restaurants. We came across the Luau show which was every Friday evening for the time. The breakfast buffet was expensive (probably reasonable for Hawaii standard) but had really fresh fruits (expected for Hawaii), some non-tradition breakfast items and live music!
Hotel has 3 ABC stores, is one block from some must-try food trucks and is cross street to the beach. Very walkable.

Directly across the street from the beach, which was great. Many restaurants and tons of shopping in the area. However, there is only one hot tub (about 50 square feet), and the only pool for 80 floors of hotel guests is smaller than what would be found in a Motel 6. Also, be aware that there are no microwaves in the hotel rooms, so don't expect to have leftovers for meals or snacks. Hotel staff was fantastic at every turn.

Although the location is right across the street and the staff was somewhat friendly we had issues. Our rooms were dated, the sewage smell from the bathroom sink was terrible, the tVs broke down for two days and we had a cockroach in our room the day we were checking out.

Very friendly staff! Clean property. My biggest complaint is elevator access. There was only 1 elevator we could find that we could use so that was difficult especially for families with a stroller.
The bed was also super firm, it made my back hurt. There’s a mini fridge in the room but it’s very much a mini mini fridge. You really could only store drinks in it, not any leftovers or food.

The property really hasn't been upgraded since it was built. The rooms have not been renovated to modern standards. the rooms we the plainest we've stayed in in the last decade.
We also didn't receive the room we booked with Expedia on arrival and had to get our room changed to what we did pay for, which took a day.
Also, photos of the property did not match what was actually there. Pool lounge chairs have pads in the photos but there were no pads on the lounge chairs and you had to sit on hard wicker chairs.
