The breakfast was delicious. The room was clean enough but there was a really weird smell in the bathroom. Other than that, the staff were super nice and helpful and the surrounding area was safe.

Don't waste your money here
This is by far the worst hotel I've ever been to. Don't waste you money in this hotel. First, nothing worked in the room. Heater didn't work. I had to sleep with my jacket on. Coffee machine didn't work. Second, water pressure in shower was frustratingly low. Front desk agent could not care about guest comfort. They just want to put hot water in the lobby where it's convenient for them but guest has to come down to lobby whenever we need hot water because they do not provide kettle. She tried to over charge me for water. They also need training for ev driver guest. She just said she doesn't know because it's not their's. Btw there are lots of ants in the bathroom.
No appreciation for the guest.
I love Hampton Inn but this one is the worst EVER.

This Hampton Inn does meet the typical standards. Bed was mediocre and the pillows were terrible as was the noise. The shower never got hot. We don’t believe the elevator had been properly inspected. The location is great for access to the airport, but we would not recommend this Hampton Inn.

We stayed here for an overnight layover. You could hear some above you walking around but it was better than I thought and the breakfast was excellent. I would stay here again if I’m ever back in SF.

The front desk staff was great during check in and during my 3 week stay. Housekeeping was a hit or miss. Breakfast wasn't that great. Hot water in the shower wasn't always available or would run out pretty quickly. There isn't any dining options near by and we typically drove to the Colma area at night. The hotel next door has a restaurant but it is pretty expensive. Room was nice and quiet. The room had a barn door on the closet that could cover the entrance to the bedroom to add an extra layer of noise protection, so the room was pretty nice at night. Would stay here again.

It was nice but need to repair warn out bathroom door in room 328. Spill not cleaned on baseboard. Gross. Carpet a little stained & floor in ice area very very sticky. I guess good for the price.

I love the Hampton Inn, yet this is the first time an employee has provided subpar customer service. Our international flight from Brisbane to San Francisco arrived very early in the morning, a factor I didn't consider when booking at the Hampton Inn at 300 Gateway Blvd. The Hampton Inn agent, Joyce, was unfriendly and uncommunicative. My elderly mother and I sat in the lobby for hours. We sat in the lobby for hours and were made to sit there until noon. She told us that checking in before that would be fifty dollars. I understand company policy, but there is also a time when you accommodate your customers for extenuating circumstances.

Staff at this Hampton Inn were all very friendly, accommodating and welcoming! Hotel was clean and smelled pleasant. Breakfast was offered, area was clean and the employees made sure food was stocked and coffee was fresh. Maria (night shift employee) was so engaging and informative. She went above and beyond with her friendly personality and her willingness to make you laugh and feel welcomed. Thank you all for a pleasant experience in San Francisco!

We were rushed everyday so to have the option of an easy and pretty good breakfast every morning helped make the day start off good. It was noisy for sure in the early AM, you can hear upstairs and next to you. So if you’re looking to sleep in, ask for the top floor. No shuttle service to/from the airport was frustrating. Besides that it was a great experience. Very clean.

Excellent hotel for family stay
This hotel is great on everything such as clean, updated with new look, free breakfast, the location is quiet and feel safe which is surrounding with some Bio tech companies and hotels. Best part is the wonderful free breakfast with enough choices. My family love this hotel.

It was very convenient for us. Close to the Expressway, close the Airport. Other than there was no Restaurant, store or other facility that can make your life more easier. Also, hotel Key gave us too much problem. We need to change our key so many time because they were not working.

Asked for fresh towels & trash removal after 3 nights. Young girl @ the front desk was texting on her phone when I approached to ask. She said okay & asked the room #. It was never taken care of. I had to personally take out the trash after ants started to arrive in the room. I also had to go get my own fresh towels. Everytime we walked in she was on her phone or talking to other workers. I believe his name was Dan, he was great, professional & always very helpful.

My stay was great until we had an emergency false alarm at 1:00 am. I woke up delirious and not sure what was going on. Meanwhile, I called the front desk and the false alarm was confirmed. My rest was broken and I had trouble going back to sleep.. Otherwise, I had a pleasant stay.

The Expedia description was very inaccurate. The airport shuttle service has been cancelled for a long time, there was no mention of fee for parking, the air conditioner is not functioning, and no one bothered to tell me the wireless connections.

Locations which i compare from our previous visits. I might my bucket list to booked here while my daughter is in SFSU.
though I am not aware that even for a two day book, There is no housekeeping to fixed our beddings nor a replacement of used towels. Quite sad, i may be wrong if didnt asked, Internet is not free which i am not also aware, i should read the fine print. Overall, my family is happy so do it. I can also charge my EV car for a night for a minimal fee which is more than i could ask for. Thank you.

This was the worst experience I have ever had staying at an Hampton Inn Hotel. It was noisy, hard to find house keeping. I booked through Hotel.com. I will never use that company again. I have been staying at Hampton Inns since early 2000s. This was the stay from Hell. I was not happy with the room location.

It was great location. Everything was good (not great)… there was a sour smell as soon as I walked in… it went away the following day. Additionally, they didn’t empty the trash can… other than that… good overall.

It was good! Cosy, clean, comfortable! Good breakfast. Hotel parking could be free though... If you don't wanna pay, then there is a street for you to park literally next to the hotel car park, less than a minute walk from the hotel :)

I love Hampton Inns and will continue to stay there. My issue was with Expedia. There was a weather event and I needed to leave early. I knew that the hotel was non-refundable when I booked it. But this was an extraordinary event. So, in the future, I will ONLY book thru my Hilton Honors app. I was disappointed with the staff on the reservation line that did not even consider my loyalty to Hilton when telling me about the non-refundable status. They should have taken into account my thousands of dollars spent at Hiltons. Made me reconsider Marriott...

Hampton Inn remains at the top of my list of hotels to stay when on personal and business travel. All staff very friendly but especially the breakfast staff. Very attentive to guests and food during breakfast. Room was very clean and all the needed amenities were there as expected.

Bed was super squeaky! It was not comfortable at all it’s metal frame so anytime I turned around it would be so loud! And not only that but it’s obvious it’s very loud when someone is with their partner and the metal bed super squeaky and loud! Not happy at all!

Worked well for us
We needed to be in the city overnight and didn't want to pay the high hotel and parking rates downtown, so we booked this instead. The staff member who assisted us when we checked in was not very helpful, but aside from that everything was great. The breakfast was one of the best free hotel breakfasts we've had in a long time. We would probably not stay here if flying out of SFO since we were told that they don't have a shuttle to the airport.
