AWESOME SERVICE FROM THE TOP DOWN TO THE BOTTOM!
As I traveled to Mechanicsville, VA for my daughter's baby shower, I was received by the attendance Ms. Evette with such awesome joy. My room was spotless. As a matter of fact, room services had just completed servicing the room. The attendant, Ms. Evette double checked the room before we entered the room. I experience excellent service and the hospitality was better than I have ever experience anywhere else. The smile, friendliness, and professionalism displayed was greatly appreciated. I felt so welcomed when I entered the hotel. I was greeted immediately upon entering the facility before I even approached the counter like I was coming home to family.
I had the great opportunity to speak with the hotel manager Ms. Jolisa as well. She is surely top notch. I see why her employees are of high standards. It actually trickles down from the top.
I will definitely be coming back to this hotel. The baby is due in late March, so I'll see you then. I know I will receive the same services as this time.

Staff was super friendly. I liked the pool. I didn't like the breakfast options. It was pretty much the same thing day to day. If you are staying for a week or longer, that's not a good thing. Also ,there are not enough channels on the tv.

We arrived early to attend a funeral. The Staff was very friendly and worked it out for us to get into our room much sooner than 3pm so we could freshen up and unload our luggage into the room. Room was very clean and we so much appreciated her working with us to access our room a little early. We didn’t have any issues or noise, and we slept very well. I would definitely recommend the Hampton Inn at this Mechanicsville VA location! Thank you for making our stay here very nice and accommodating.

Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We were kept awake when a woman started yelling and screaming one night. The next night the hallway in the hotel reeked of pot smoke. Still, this hotel was very convenient. We liked it.

The Hotel only had 3 of the reservations not the 4 we made. Hotel was full. One in our party had to get a suite for extra fee not planned for in our budget. They discounted the room but still had to pay extra.

I found it frustrating that the telephone was poorly man and often did not work. The clocks in the room did not work well and there was no way to fix them. I found this terribly frustrating. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. I don’t think I would stay at a Hampton Inn again.

Recently renovated. Had an updated room on the first floor. Clean and comfortable. Some minor noise from other guests closing their doors and talking in the hall, but was otherwise quiet. Check in was fast. Parking was abundant.

Hai greeted us upon our arrival. He was so committed to service and our comfort that it would be fair to say that I had never received such a warm welcome at a hotel before this stay. My cousin had a hotel room, number 224, that was experiencing a leak of water under the AC machine. He sincerely was concerned for her comfort and quickly leaped to action to remedy the situation. My only complaint would be there needed to be more people such as Hai. Sherronda Robinson needs to ensure that employees such as Hai are never lost. Seriously, he was such a joy with which to interact.

Very pleasant stay
Check-in was very smooth. No problems and the clerk was very friendly. He made the long drive to Richmond seem not so bad. When we got up to our rooms, they were very comfortable, clean.

Little things still disappointing.
Stayed here again. Pool STILL out of order. No soap in dispenser in shower. Why go to using low environmental impact soap & dispensers if you don't have the discipline to make sure they are usable for guests?! Very annoying!! Room, bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Fair breakfast, although I dispise the sausage they serve 5 days out of 7. GREAT front desk staff. Nice snack and other items retail area (NO stupid vending machines!) Good parking unless there is an event at either hotel, then you are on your own to find parking anywhere nearby.

Check in was smooth and went quickly. I was offered a room on my choice of floor and the front desk attendant said he would place me in a ‘quiet’ room overlooking the woods, which he did. So thoughtful! The hotel and room were clean and modern. Parking and breakfast were both complimentary and I was pleased with the selection of hot foods available on the breakfast buffet. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful customer service!
We were welcomed in with a smile on the hottest day of the year and sent to our room with bottles of ice cold water. What a treat! We were able to get early check in, and or room was really nice, comfortable and clean. Spent the day at a concert and came in late after sweating for hours. Our room air conditioner didn't seem to be working; we set it to 68 before we left and it was 75 when we returned. After waiting a bit to see if it would work, we ended up calling the front desk to see if we just didn't program it correctly. A few minutes later, they called to offer us a new room, and even brought the key to us. We spent the night in a super clean room with a wonderfully cool air conditioner.
The next morning there was a hot breakfast: omelettes, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, toast, muffins, fruit and waffles. The waffles were a treat! They had two makers: one full sized and one that made four mini waffles. The batters were malted vanilla and red velvet. They were delicious.
If I had anything negative to say, it would be the noise from the road traffic, which isn't the fault of the hotel at all. We were woken up several times by j-brakes from trucks during the night. This wouldn't make me not stay there again, simply because of the wonderful customer service we received. Highly recommended! Sharronda has a wonderful staff.

First they gave someone else to our room after we were in it they came and opened the door. Then my son found bed bugs in his bed.
And I have tried to contact the general manager for over 3 days and still have not gotten a call back from them. Was told by 3 different people there the the message was given to them

When I arrived in the evening after my meeting, my reservation was ready, I was given the "key" and my room was close by. Easiest check-in I've ever experienced. Check out was also just as easy. Friendly staff, nice variety of breakfast foods.

Cost of pet
We really enjoyed our night there. We were very happy the hotel was pet friendly, but I was very disappointed that the cost of the pet staying there was posted on t your website. I didn’t expect an extra $50.00 fee at time of signing in. If we would have know about the cost in advance we would have requested a cheaper room, it really sent over our budget for the room.

The room had no amenities, no pen and paper, No hand cream, only shampoo and conditioner, no cream pods, only powdered cream. It felt like a Motel 8. Should be the Hampton. Lights are all cold white, room looks stark. Decorating is stark, unfriendly.

Although construction at the entrance was in progress, the inside of the hotel was clean and quiet. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. From our arrival through our departure, the front desk clerk was helpful and hospitable.

It is a pet friendly place, but dogs should not be allowed near the food counter as we saw a large dog jump up near the egg cheese omlet. All dogs or humans are not trained properly.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel is going through remodeling so the fitness center was not accessible, however, they have a sister property's fitness center that can be accessed. Downsize--it was raining, so had to go through the rain back & forth.

I liked everything thing about the property. The staff was great, the room was excellent, the free breakfast was unbelievable( with everything needed). There wasn’t anything to complain about “except “ it was hard to find, even with my GPS. Need more signage on the entering streets. Great place

Not happy, wrong room description
We were traveling with 5 guests and the room description included a sofa bed. There was not even a sofa. My son had to sleep on the floor. I never would have booked this room if i knew there wasn't a sofa bed.

We were a little concerned when we saw all the construction workers and lack of signage on the building. They are I. The process of renovating the hotel.
We were given a room on second floor away from any noise. Our room was remodeled clean and comfortable and quiet.

Staff is very friendly. Unfortunately the halls and room smelled and the bathroom door in room didn’t close. The pool wasn’t open and construction throughout which I knew prior to booking so can’t really blame them for that.

Arrived on Saturday and departed on Tuesday. Never saw clean ing staff, kept going to the desk to get towels. The shower doors are lovely, but they won't stay closed unless you wedge a towel to close em. Very good breakfast

I believe if a property is under construction or being remodeled, guests should be notified in advanced. The pool and gym were not in use; the pool was being used to store matresses, ironing boards, etc. COVID procedures were still in place - no room service. The trash, in my room, wasn't emptied for 3 days. My 80 parents had to go to the front desk each day to get clean towels. I believe these things should be made public. I re-read the six emails I received from Ecpedia prior to my stay, none mentioned any of these issues.

So they are under construction but they did not say that. Also there is no pool, we used next door pool. My lock to the door didn't work. I felt that they should close until the remodeling is done. There are a few safety hassarards out in the parking lot. And noisy for the construction. It is not organized. It is madness.
