I was very disappointed in this Hampton Inn, it had a 8.5 star rating and I left out of here not understand how or why. The rooms were dirty and outdated. The staff was friendly!
And for you traveling with pets, $75 dollar fee (non-refundable)!

Things were mostly fine with the staff and cleanliness, but the room I got this time was clearly well used, the HVAC unit did not have a functioning control panel. The shower curtain rod sagged meaning the curtain wouldn't stay closed, and there was a LOT of noise coming from the lobby area which was really close. For $200 a night, I would expect a much better experience.

Damp, smelly and wet carpet
This hotel was the worst Hampton Inn we have stayed in. We had 2 rooms. Both smelled moldy and had damp carpets. One room had mold in the bathroom and the shower head was broken. No shampoo. We are not people who are fussy but this hotel needs serious work.

Toilet Issue
Our toilet was broken in our room and nobody came to fix after 2 complaints. We literally could not flush and it ran all night very loud.

The representative, Bella was amazing. When we entered into the room it was freezing and there was a smell that was masked by the cold once we got the room to a normal temperature you could smell it. We stayed the night since the room overall was clean and there was a storm and also there weren’t many choices of hotels to go to at that hour. But if I needed to stay in that area again I know I would not choose to stay there unless they renovated the establishment as that kind of smell is not easily removed.

Traveling north
Bella the receptionist was very inviting and nice. We had a surprise $50 non refundable charge for our 2 dogs which Hotels.com did not tell us. In light of that, we probably would have picked another hotel. Our stay went from $150 to $200 a night. Very disconcerting. It’s not the hotel’s fault but Hotels.com.

The room was strangely humid. The floor felt soaked, not sure if they shampooed it 1 minute before our arrival or….. the breakfast was also awful. Haven’t stayed in a hotel this strange in a while, highly do not recommend

This was a nice place to stay, with VERY friendly staff! Everything was spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was good. Although the bed was nice and fresh, I didn’t find the mattress to be very comfortable. Also, our door wouldn’t lock!

So disappointing. I have always liked Hampton Inns. This one was subpar. Smelly , dirty, moldy. Exposed wires hanging down through missing ceiling tiles over door to our room. Broken light fixture in bathroom. Plastic comb on the floor between the beds. Was the room cleaned and a comb overlooked in the middle of the floor?

Breakfast was fresh with plenty of options. Staff very welcoming and helpful. The area has lots to do, plenty of places to shop and eat a couple miles away. Easy on and off 95!

I love this hotel! I have stayed there many times over the years. I know the section of rooms that I prefer to stay in and my requests are always taken care of. The staff is great, especially the young lady who checked me in on my last two visits. Shame on me for not getting her name; next time I will. I could honestly afford to stay anywhere in Richmond. I stay here because it feels like coming home when I'm there.

Very disappointing and expensive for the amenities. Shower had poor water pressure and there was hair in it as if it hadn’t been cleaned. Breakfast was marginal; Little variety and not replenished frequently. Limited beverages of only coffee, tea and apple juice.

Nice lil drive onto the property. Everything was excellent until we got settled into our unit and used the bathroom. Floor was like gooey stickyish, drywall dust in corners, in the shower. Toilet seat had some gooey slime on it that I washed off. It was 1 in the morning and dead on our feet, so crashed into the comfortable bed. Woke up and realized how disgusting the bathroom really was. NOT a Hampton Inn worth going to!!! Doesnt hold up to its usual respectable name.

Breakfast included was advertised, however that consisted of 2 hard boiled eggs in a bag, a bagel in a bag and a yogurt ….. not sure if this was due to covid restrictions in VA or not. But Just seeing 2 eggs in a bag was pretty weird and unexpected

Our room was outdated and in need of renovation. There was a desk chair that was ripped. The toilet seat was old and discolored. I had to fix the handle on the toilet because it wouldn't flush. The facility was clean, but in need of updating.

But, the room itself was very clean.
Trash can at entrance door and 2 inside eating area were over flowing.
Floor and tables in eating area were not cleaned. Same trash on the floor for two days. Trash and drink bottle under the bench seat.

The sides of the Bedding were stained. The furnishings were old and worn out. The table leg was about to fall off. There was no water pressure in the sink. They had a new tub and wallpaper but the bathroom cabinet needed replacing. No decaf coffee served for breakfast. Sheets and mattress were great. Personal were pleasant. Your box breakfast eggs are terrible ( vinegar taste) .

The shower was warm, but never hot. The mattress cover did not fit the extra thick mattress, so came off repeatedly during the night. There was a splatter of what looked like grape soda behind the bathroom door, that looked like it had been there awhile (easily missed with door open for cleaning, but very visible when bathroom was in use). The fruit offered at breakfast were oranges or tangerines that were covered in brown spots and looked inedible. Can't recommend.

The hotel itself is nice. I do think that they need to update the rooms though 😬 It's clear that it's an older establishment just based on the bed posts, pictures, and curtains. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay!

Quiet,immaculate respite after a long travel day , in the midst of the pandemic.
The room was clean and cozy with a lovely bed and comforter.
We asked for an hour extra in checking out since I had a video conference at 12:00. This was no problem.
I will remember this hotel , and hopefully stay here again next winter on our trek down to Florida .

I didn't like the fact that Travelocity booked a King bed room when my request and confirmation was for a double, this could have been a real issue if they didn't have a double available.
It was also concerning that the staff advised that Travelocity does this on a regular basis.
The staff did an excellent job and made sure that we were taken care of.

Property overall was fine. Great location. Good breakfast.
Had an issue. There was a large water leak in hall outside my room. Water dripped all night in buckets making much noise disturbing my sleep. I understand things happen but when I brought it to front desk's attention upon checkout, all I got was a shrug and "sorry". I was hoping they would take some money off my bill to compensate my bad night but was told they couldn't do anything because I booked thru Expedia.
So Expedia, if hotels can't make things right when I book thru you, maybe I shouldn't any more.

The hotel was overbooked leaving several families no options but to travel quite some distance to find a new hotel. Staff was apologetic but unaccomodating as it appeared like rooms were being held for the Hilton reservations and outside company reservations were being turned away or given rooms they didn’t reserve.

Not up to Hampton Inn quality
This hotel looks to be an older hotel purchased by Hampton Inn. The rooms are outdated and they are not up to the typical Hampton Inn quality expected.

The hotel was clean, quiet, and well kept. Service was excellent and staff was very friendly, including manager Tray, who took time to stop and talk with the guests having breakfast on Saturday. Location was perfect—right off the highway, yet you couldn’t hear any noise. We would definitely stay there again.

The room was damp bugs crawling on the floor wallpaper coming off the wall in the bathroom with mold behind it I mentioned it to the desk clerk at checkout and she informed me they're supposed to be tearing it down and building a new one in 3 months and didn't offer me any kind of discount it was very discouraging
