Great place to stay.
Good experience overall. Enjoyed breakfast, fresh and very well set up with many choices. Especially liked availability of the coffee and snacks. Receptionist Kristie at the front desk very helpful and friendly. The whole place was clean and welcoming, loved the decor.

Spacious and clean rooms, full breakfast included and a table of free items (bottled water, soft drinks, snacks, etc.) by the check in desk. Ample parking and a well-equipped gym on site make it an ideal location to stay in the Martinsville area.

Our stay was pleasant. Although I felt it could use some updating, especially the carpet. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was very good, but no toast or muffin type options for gluten sensitive. Our room was right next to the elevator and the ice machine and I was very concerned about noise, but it was very quiet.

Little Extras Make a Big Impression
I noticed a lot of little extra touches at this location. Free bottled water and snacks (chips, crackers, fruit bars, etc.) for guests were available by the front desk. I think I saw complimentary laundry supplies sitting out when we passed the laundry room. After we returned from dinner, Lynn from the front desk called our room to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. I also appreciate how they use refillable bottles of hand soap, lotion, shampoo, etc. which are more eco-friendly than those tiny bottles and individually-wrapped soaps! We encountered several staff during our stay and they were all very friendly.

Safe, secure, and Comfortable
It was very clean, hospitality was wonderful, and we will be back again. This is the only hotel we will stay at in Martinsville, Virginia. The Kauffman’s from Indiana!

There's only 1 thing I didn't like. They have preferred parking for qualified members. Why am I salty? Because I wasn't a member, although I pick a Hampton Inn when on vacation. I had to park around on the side of the building that wasn't close to any entry doors. Thats ok, because one day I'm getting an RV.

Dirty ice!
The hotel is really over priced for the area. 4th floor ice machine was putting out ice with black stuff in it. Told the front desk in the hopes of them placing it out of order or clean it. Neither was done! Bathroom shower head was spraying water all over the place. Unsure if repaired or not.

It was a nice hotel. My family of 4 was with me and we found there were only 2 towels. The front desk had no access to extra towels and had to give us green towels they found in the corner of a closet.

The place is nice but they don’t offer turn down service or bring you towels maybe due to staffing. It’s no big deal but it would have been nice to have. My only complaint is the beds are super hard and to most Hampton inns have fluffy beds and pillows. The views are pretty nice in the afternoon.

Stay Here for a Motel Experience at a Hotel Price
The receptionist were not friendly and are giving out misinformation that the monkeypox virus is only in the gay community. When we arrived in our room, we had two kleenex tissues, one of which had a blue substance stained on it. There was only one towel and washcloth even though our reservation was for 2 people. My husband said the receptionist gave him an attitude when giving him a second towel and wash cloth. The bathroom trash can had no bag in it. For breakfast, the food was kept luke warm and not hot. By the time I walked to my seat, my breakfast was cold. This hotel is in a community that is already struggling from lack of tourism, and this hotel is "fueling the fire" with lack of good customer service and overall experience. This hotel does not deserve to be part of the Hilton family in my opinion.

The property and its staff is amazing. I actually had a problem with Expedia.com. Upon checking in, I was informed that my card was declined by the company. I had already received my confirmation number and the money had already came out of my account, but there was nothing the hotel could do. After I paid the hotel for the night, I contacted Expedia to figure out what was wrong. The said something about a Virtual Card Decline, which makes absolutely no sense because it’s an online agency; meaning everything is virtual. They couldn’t explain it to me and I was told to pay a $30 incidental fee (which I was previously told that was included in Expedia’s price and also given a rate of $25 by the front desk) and then hung up on by one of the representatives. With everything said, Expedia actually charged me more money than I paid at the actual hotel. I have not received my funds back from yesterday as of yet and still had to pay for another night because the hotel has no access to those funds. Overall, excellent hotel staff. Wonderful hotel. 10/10 would recommend to anybody!

I loved that the place looked clean. I dislike the musty smell in the room I booked. Also an alarm went off twoce between the hours of 2-4 am. Didnt get much sleep on my last nights stay and had a 6 hour drive ahead of me. Blessed to have made it home safely!

Awesome The hotel was obviously short staffed but were making the best of it. All staff were friendly, helpful and hard working. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Can’t ask for more than that!

The description had the room sleeping 5 with a sofa bed and it did not have this. Very disappointing in that now our kids had to sleep together (they are bigger kids). Description was very misleading. We would not have booked this hotel if we would have known.

The staff provided excellent service. Room wasn't ready upon arrival. Bed wasn't made in replacement room and in a time of COVID, customers would feel comfortable knowing the linen was clean/disinfected. HVAC unit sounded like a tractor trailer.

the room had a large spotlight in the window on the far right side which one could not draw a drape over because there was no drape track. It was left blank and with the flimsey sheer curtain, the spotlight was on you all night. Plus toilet roll was put on backwards.

The bathtub in our room was absolutely filthy and I took pictures of it for proof. It was covered in dirt and grime and at first I thought maybe it was just the color of the tub, but in fact it was dirt because we put a towel at the bottom of the bathtub so our feet wouldn’t touch it and where the towel was placed the dirt wiped off. The paint in the bathtub also began chipping the minute we ran the water. It was overall a disgusting thing to encounter especially during a pandemic.

Unfortunate checkin
The hotel was nice as always, the only issue I had and this was the first time it had happened,. So maybe Kristy at the front desk was having a bad day. I was working at a local plant when I made the reservation,. Normally I let my GF go check in so I can continue to work . But nope Kristy would not have it so I had to stop working come get the room then return to work,. This doesn't sound like much but when you are on the road working you want all the time to work you can get. The next trip I will definitely look at another property,. Yes I completely paid for the room online so there was no money needed and the GF has access to my ID, and I had stayed here on prior trips,,. Was disappointed in the attitude

Charged when I should not have been
I prepaid through hotels.com and then the hotel also charged me. Took over a month with calls and emails including screenshots of the charges to get refunded. Not by the hotel, but by HIlton. A lot of time wasted.

Lack of attention

This property is trying hard to be very careful with Covid-19 precautions. I have witnessed them steam cleaning carpets. All staff is wearing masks as are most guests. As I am visiting my mother in a nursing home every day, I appreciate this.

Staff was super nice. Cleaning of rooms (and we had 3 over the course if our 2 night stay) was done halfway. Things such as hair in the drain of a tub that should have been wiped down, sink faucet had fingerprints/grime that should have been wiped and desks and countertop werent wiped.

My stay was very pleasant, and comfortable. I'm born and raised in Martinsville, but haven't lived there since 2005. So, I did research on surrounding hotels, and Hampton Inn, had the best reviews and it didn't disappoint for me. Ms. Jennifer, at the front desk was so nice!

Nice hotel, but the staff doesn't care about COVID
Most of the staff is pleasant, primarily the lobby staff and at least one of the cleaning staff was very pleasant. Our only concern was the cleaning staff, their behavior, as well as their thoroughness in cleaning the rooms. There was some crumbs of some sort on some of the horizontal surfaces and there was debris on the floor behind the bathroom door. Either the cleaning job was done in a hurry, or the person doing it isn't that thorough a housekeeper. My biggest concern is their attitude towards Covid procedures. The housekeepers "bum rushed" past me to get on the elevator after I had waited patiently for a couple to take the elevator ahead of me. The housekeepers reacted laughingly when I declined their offer to ride the elevator with them... in a small elevator not close to allowing for any social distancing. If it weren't for the fact that there aren't really any other NORMALLY GOOD QUALITY hotels in the area I would not return. I probable will end up trying out some motels in the area in the future. The lackadaisical attitude of the housekeepers hear is disturbing, especially in the light of the pandemic.

Disappointed in Hampton Inn
We were completely shocked that none of the staff who interacted with us wore a mask. There were several staff whose masks were face down on the front desk (while they took my credit card the day we arrived, printed my receipt the day I left, handed me fresh towels, explained about the pool being closed). These were multiple occasions with multiple staff members. Of course, guests weren't wearing them, so we did NOT take the elevator unless we had to with our luggage. Rather we walked up the four flights of stairs. The breakfast was a packaged muffin and bottle of water in a bag--I think yogurt or a piece of fruit would have been reasonable given Hampton couldn't provide its usual breakfast due to COVID19. We have stayed there before and I like Hampton Inns because they are so reliable. I left disappointed and not surprised that coronavirus cases were found the day before we arrived to be surging in Henry County, where the hotel is located.
