We have stayed at this Hampton over the past several years while visiting our daughter at SIU-C. We have ALWAYS had a pleasant experience-from the staff at the reception desk, upon arrival-to the morning breakfast staff who bring a smile to your face...and the housekeeping staff, too!!! Our daughter has graduated over the weekend, and her life is moving forward-so we will not be seeing these people again...We just want you all to know how great you are! Thank you all so very much!

Hotel was in a great location for my needs. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean. Breakfast was above average for a free meal.
My only complaints were that is was loud at all hours. Due to time changes I often didn't go to sleep until after 1am, and it was loud even then. I was awoken one morning by the housekeeping staff greeting each other loudly outside my room. The shower was hard to regulate temperature - it was either too hot or too cool and there was quite a delay when making adjustments. The toilet also didn't flush consistently. Nothing major; just some annoying things when there for a week.

Solid place to stay
This hotel is fine. It’s clean and rooms are large. Service was prompt. There is nothing super fancy about it and the remodel was kind of rough around the edges. Overall though, a solid place to stay.

What I did not like: no lock on in room sliding bathroom door. Provided for some awkward moments!
What I liked, everything else.
Who I liked: Margaret, the breakfast lady. She's friendly and attentive to the customers. She makes a mean breakfast and gave excellent suggestions for things to try. I also appreciated the young lady that checked us in. Our keys were a mess and she helped get them straightened them out. So different from other young people these days who normally welcome any added work with an eyeroll or sigh. She was eager to help and this was appreciated.

A go place for overnight or longer.
Excellent stay. Hotel staff very friendly and willing to make extra facilities for handicapped visitor. Room was very clean, well equipped and well suited for handicapped customers. Breakfast was clean and well stocked with items for almost anyone. Highly recommended.

The hotel was clean, up to date and the breakfast was very good! Pool was very well maintained. Only thing missing from the pantry was microwavable food options, the options consisted mostly of candy and chips.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and it completely meets our needs. The pool is great for our small children and the breakfast is plentiful.
Caution: the hot water in the shower is HOT. Make sure you check the temp before getting in. It's very finicky and only takes a small turn to get the right temp. We had several rooms in our party (Thanksgiving) and everyone had this issue with their shower.

Hassle-free stay
The Hampton Inn was very comfortable, clean, safe, and friendly during our two-night, two-room stay. Buffet breakfast consisted of hot options (scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, waffles), juice, coffee, cereals, toast (bagels or bread), muffins, fruit. Coffee is available in the lobby at all hours. The beds were comfortable. Our rooms were accessible (grab bars on each wall of the tub, but not a walk-in shower). The pool was pleasantly warm (i.e., ideal to walk right in, probably too warm and small for fitness laps), and the hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The staff were very nice; check in and check out were quick.

Nice and Family Friendly
My family and I enjoyed lodging there. It has been a very nice place to stay. My kids were comfortable. Our rooms were clean, warm and friendly environment. The staff are glad to help you with whatever you need and the management is awesome.

Third stay here. Room is showing signs of neglect. Large crack in ceiling with paint peeling back. Tub had mildew starting in caulking. Would think better condition of room considering the price being paid.

The property manager was very hard to work with. My husband was quarantined and we could not go on our trip but the hotel would not work with me to cancel our reservation. We had a doctors excuse from where he was exposed and seen the doctor to stay away from people yet they would not work with us to refund our funds. Very disappointed in them and with their service or understanding.

Hey the pool was open and the fitness room was open that was nice for a change it's funny how everybody can sit around and eat breakfast together but they can't go in a pool where there are 20 feet apart or Fitness room where there is usually only one person in there at a time

Very nice stay
Very nice staff. My grandson really enjoyed the pool - it was very clean and the water was not too cold. Bathrooms were very clean. The beds are comfortable.

It was a nice stay, Shanika at the front desk was welcoming and very friendly. Rooms, breakfast and pool were all great and as expected.
I was disappointed that the hot tub was not working, when I picked that place the hot tub was a factor since my wife loves it. But overall good place and had no other issues.

There was construction going on on the highway and it was difficult to figure out how to actually get into the hotels parking lot. I’m not from the area so it would have been nice to be notified of the entrance change or if there were more obvious signs.

Very comfortable
Our stay was very comfortable. The room had plenty of space. The windows let plenty of light in during the day and the blinders kept the room pretty dark at night. The bed was so comfortable, that I'm thinking about reaching out to find the brand.

They put us in room 101--right next to the door. It was GREAT as I have walking problems. We will in the future stay there again (as our daughter lives in Carbondale and we prefer to stay in a hotel if staying overnight) and hopefully will be able to request that room again!

The breakfast was okay. I didn’t notice until I was leaving that there were stains on the bed skirt. There was a noticeable crack in the ceiling. The bathroom door was a sliding door, which was a little weird since you couldn’t lock it. The shower water doesn’t stay warm for very long & have to end up taking a cold shower. The tv is small & the walls are thin, you can hear people in the hallway & in the rooms around & above you. With COVID procedures, they emptied the hot tub & surrounded it with chairs and tape. There was only allowed to have 15 people in the pool area, but there was no where to social distance in there, as there was only a total of 2 tables & 4 chairs placed right by each other. Most of the staff were nice & made an attempt to have a conversation with you.

We checked in at 3 pm. Every thing was good. Clean and nice front desk staff. At around 4:30 the power went out. Stayed out for almost 2 hours. No apology, no comped room or and “ compensation” for the inconvenience. I was there for a mini mommy vacation. So I had some alcohol prior to the power outage and started to get worried they would have to move us. Then was told by the front desk at check out oh well because I booked with a third party.

It was a lovely stay, very comfortable hotel and the room was fabulous. The employees were all very polite and kind. The only downside was the elevator was out of service, but there are stairs at both ends of the building which was fine for us personally.

Clean hotel with nice customer service. The walls are a little thin and you can hear conversations in the next room or hallways. The lightening in the back of the hotel is a little soft, and can be a concern.

The check-in experience was terrible, which in all fairness seemed to be the fault of the employee and hopefully not a common occurrence. The staff seems miserable, could've been the weather, I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but the place was just depressing.

Doggone Covid!
COVID makes staying in a hotel very frustrating. You pay for a room with breakfast and end up with a sack of Nutrigrain bars and an orange. You pay for a hotel with exercise facilities and can't use them because they're closed. It's best to just recognize that you're not going to get the same level of service during this pandemic. It's not the hotel's fault as they are doing what they can to mitigate the spread of the virus. Just be sure to check what your experience will be like ahead of time.

I'll say this, this is the 3rd or 4th time we've stayed at this location and this has to have been the worse experience we ever had there. The few staff members we did deal with were nice and friendly. The issue we had was there was no staff on premise overnight which shocked us. For the 2 nights we were there, extremely rude people stayed in the room above us. They partied from 2:00 AM until 4:00 both nights screaming, laughing, pounding on the floors, it was crazy. When we called the front desk no one answered, so I went out to the front desk and no one was around. I banged on the counter and no one ever came to the front desk. The office door was closed and the lights where turned off in the office because I wasn't able to see any coming from under the door. No one was home.
When we spoke to the young lady at the front desk the next day she was sympathetic but not a manager so she said she'd need to talk to management. That evening same thing happened and no one around to complain to. To make matters worse I overheard one of the workers talking to the people making all the noise in the cafe area when I was at the front desk. Instead of telling those customers that they should try to be more quiet and respectful of the other customers I hear him tell them "No you guys aren't the worse we had a lot worse complaints about other customers don't worry about it." That tells you all you need to know about what this location thinks about it's customer base.
