Off season 4 night stay
Pool was not heated and carpet in the room was tattered and dirty. Otherwise the breakfast was great. The city has not maintained the sidewalks in the surrounding area at all and there was a lot of nearby construction which made walking difficult. All the dog poop bins were overflowing with waste.

Not as satisfied as I would hope
The stay was not bad at all the beds are very uncomfortable but everything else was nice until you check out. I would highly suggest making sure they have charged you correctly. We did put the stay on two cards but when we checked out we were recharged again and have to wait up to a month to get our money back not satisfied with that at all if we knew this we definitely would have stayed in a different location.

A pleasant surprise!
Direct beach access from the property was awesome. Complimentary breakfast saved us money versus having to eat out, and the breakfast food was pretty good. Staff were friendly and helpful although they certainly wanted to make sure we were out of our room on time (we were out right on time.) we booked off-season, the weekend before Thanksgiving week, and the pricing was reasonable. We would certainly book here again.

Besides sticking us in a handicapped room (not selected by me), being next to the fire station that run several runs every night after midnight, the large amount of cars racing without mufflers in front of the hotel, and the room next to us fighting and cursing at each other from 3am-5am, we had a pretty good stay.

Great location close to restaurants on the water with the beach right out the back door.The room was on the first floor clean and comfortable. The breakfast was assume waffles, fruit, hot oatmeal with brown sugar raisins,almonds. There was Canadian Bacon, eggs, muffins toast. The check in was wonderful. I added a day to our trip and they with Expedia were awesome.

The property looked dirty and inside the hallways and around the outside of the facility. The neighbors were up all night loud and partying. They woke us up at 1am and wouldn’t stop partying and playing loud music. I called the front desk serval times and they said they would handle it and call the police. Nothing changed so I called the police myself and finally at 4:30 am I was able to fall asleep. I will never stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend it either.

Awesome visit
Very nice hotel, conveniently located and very clean. Service was excellent and being on the beach was a definite plus. The only negative thing was that the pillows were not comfortable at all. No biggie to me. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here.

The property looked a lot nicer and newer in the photos on Expedia. I could have over looked that but the amenities on Expedia listed beach loungers and umbrellas and the photos show beach chairs with Hampton Inn on them. We didn’t bring our chairs because we thought they were being provided and that was one of the deciding factors of choosing this hotel. When we arrived and we were told you had to rent the chairs from a third party company on the beach. We had to pay $71 to rent chairs and an umbrella that were advertised as included. I sent a message to the hotel through Expedia the same day and I have not received a response.

The bathtub shower drain needs to be cleaned. I had to clean it out, full of nasty hair and stuff. We enjoyed the breakfast the first few days but the sliced polish style sausage was not as good as the bacon served at first. But during our 7 days of breakfast it was served too many times in my opinion. We have stayed there twice and plan on returning. Don’t take it wrong we really enjoyed staying there.

Pro's and con's to this hotel. The pro is that it is right on the beach and easy walk to beach. The con's are that the hotel is old and outdated. The pool is small and pathetic and rooms are dated. We had booked a King bed with a Beach view and they switched to two queens because they were overbooked, not happy about this. Expected more from a Hampton Inn.

We loved our stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are totally dog friendly. It's just a short walk to the beach and there's a restaraunt, bar and store within walking distance. The place was clean and everything in the room was in working order. Thank you for a great stay!

Our stay was ok, the great part was we was just a walk away from the beach. The down side was the WI-FI sucks you couldn’t stream a movie or connect on your electronics devices. You have to go outside near the front entrance to connect. The breakfast was hot until it wasn’t but other than that it was a nice visit

Friendly staff, good breakfast, right on the beach
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. There are plenty of snacks offered in the lobby for a fee. The gulf view rooms have a nice view when you are standing on the balcony, but the hotel is pretty short compared to their neighboring condos (it is only 2 floors). If you sit on the balcony chairs, you can't see the ocean. I don't think the partial view rooms are worth paying extra for (they face the dune). Pool view or regular basically looks out at the condos next door or parking lots. There are beach chairs and umbrellas available to rent daily from a 3rd party. The proximity to the beach is awesome! It is only a few steps from the hotel. The hotel is definitely dated and needs some updates (looks like it has been there longer than any other buildings near it). The pool is smallish and located near the front of the hotel on the side rather than at the back by the beach as it is with many condos. However, it is clean, and the water felt good. Though it isn't really a review of the hotel itself, we felt the area lacked things to do without going into Destin which has crazy traffic. We did find one area worth walking to - the Boardwalk - eat at Al's Burger!!

Great beach vacation
Our beach vacation went well.
We stayed in one of the few rooms with the ocean front view. Much smaller hotel in the beach zone with just two floors and really long corridors to walk to elevators. Close to several dining options and the Okaloosa boardwalk and pier.
Room also had short access to the beach via stairs exit and door entry through hotel key card.

Probably one of the best most affordable places to stay the kids were comfortable. Me and my wife are comfortable very convenient next to the beach. It was pretty cold in the hotel though. Overall breakfast was bomb. Service was great. Definitely coming back.

Upon my guaranteed 4pm arrival mine as well as 5 other guests rooms were not ready. It was after 5pm when we were able to check in. The room was in unsatisfactory condition when we got there.
To top all this the desk manager was intensively rude and made insulting remarks to me.

Ryan at the front desk and Bruce the night maintenance were great. They went above and beyond. However, the condition of our room was not what I expected for a beach hotel. Toilet base was cracked and rocky. Bathtub wall had a huge crack in the side. Couldn’t get another room, no other rooms available. Booked two nights but was so disgusted we left after the first. After jumping through all of Expedia’s hoops finally at least got refunded for the night we did stay, but forfeited our payment for the second night, $232 out our pocket. I will never use Expedia again to book. Too many hoops difficult to get a real person to talk to in order to resolve issues and after explaining the problem multiple times I was still not understood. Nope, Nope, Nope!

Excellent. We had an ocean view room (there are only a few). Room had a private balcony. Direct beach access from the hotel (short walk). Front desk waived the parking fee. Staff was outstanding, friendly and offered great tips on places to go. Clean. Great breakfast (and the guy who ran it was very welcoming and attentive). Long walk to our room just because of the way buildings are situated to get beach access. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

If you want to walk on the beach or just plain enjoy it, this is the place to be. Just out the back and you are there. There are also a couple of good restaurants that are easily walkable for dinner. The facility is kept clean and I found it to be a quiet and friendly, with a staff at the front desk who were more than pleasant. I'd stay here again.

Great Stay Despite Long Beach Front Corridor
40th Anniversary beach getaway stay for my Aunt and Uncle. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Watching Dolphins play from their balcony was an unexpected treat. My Uncle has some health challenges, and the only short coming of this property is that the Beach Front Rooms are down a very long corridor, with no elevator service near the beach front rooms. He had to stop halfway down the corridor to catch his breath anytime they left/returned to the room. If you have health challenges, consider bringing a wheelchair if you're staying in a beach front room. Super clean accomodations and friendly staff.

Check in I waited over 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. There were no employees at the desk and the sign indicating where they might be was incorrect; couldn’t find an employee. Was not told about the cost of parking. Was double-charged for parking but did get this rectified after talking to the front desk on check out. Breakfast was good and fitness room was clean. We had a handicap room which needs updating in bathroom; tub didn’t drain well and most handicap fixtures are rusty.

Hotel ad states beach side but the only thing beach side was the hotel...... not the rooms!. Your ads suggest rooms have beach view when only 4 rooms have beach view, even the desk clerk said the ads were deceiving. We are both over 70 and of course on a fixed income. We had to pay an extra $65.00 for a room that you could only see where the beach might be. If it weren't for the no refund and we weren't there for a wedding, we would have gone home. The extra $65.00 took that much out of our food money. Please don't let this happen to someone else.

First off the room was described as beachfront. At check in I was told that they didn’t have a beach view available. So after we check in and attempt to bath we realize the tub is stopped up. I couldn’t believe it. This was very disappointing because I thought so highly of this establishment.

Large family trip with dogs
This was a last minute booking for our large family, bc the condo we were staying at was booked for the last two days needed of our week stay (needed two more days last minute). We have 6 humans and 2 dogs. The stay was fine. It’s a great location, a little shotgun style no frills hotel in the middle of larger ones. The pool is the size of a postage stamp on the side (no ocean view). We had one of the few ocean view suites, it was roomy enough considering it was just a one room, and the balcony was great. The bed comfort was average. The room was clean, the frequent use areas (lobby/halls) could def use more frequent cleaning and are a bit worn but I know help is hard to come by in these times. I would rate it an excellent review, if it was priced accordingly. But I paid about $1,500 for just two nights. I expect a higher caliber for that. But booking late in the game, with pets, over a holiday weekend = rip off. Other than that, it was just fine.

Check- in and out was great. Rooms were clean and quiet. The scanner card did not work for the 1st floor balcony doors. Pool is small. Short walk to the beach- available to rent chairs and umbrellas for a reasonable price- as for multiple day deals. Breakfast was great, alternated menus. Coffee and lemonade in the lobby. They allowed us to use pool and restrooms/ lobby after check out until we left for our evening flight. Use AJ valet service for Fort Walton/ Destin Airport Shuttle Service- great price and service.

It was just okay. For the amount we paid it was frustrating that the toilets didn’t flush right, and the water pressure was terrible. There were several times we needed something from the front desk and no one was available for long periods of time.
We did enjoy the freshness of the breakfast available every day for sure.
Access to the beach was great as well.
But for the cost per night we probably would not stay again.

Mostly great place to stay
Room was clean and convenient. We appreciated the easy access to the outside via the patio door. The hand held shower head needed replaced, however. It would not stay at a usable level. Breakfast was good. The AC unit was a bit annoying, blowing directly at face level when sleeping. A major improvement would be a retractable clothesline for all the wet things, as we found nothing could be left outside to dry on the ground level. We had an item stolen the first night.

Wonderful hotel!
Our family enjoyed our stay! The hotel staff were awesome. Raven, Nicole, and the maintenance staff were wonderful. Very nice, helpful, kept the hotel clean, and hot fresh breakfast each morning. Hotel right on the beach, and every room has its own balcony or patio.

For the hotel to be a Hampton…. It was rather dirty. WADS of black hair in our room, especially bathroom. Stain on bed sheets.. bathtub had been painted over, it was super rusty and peeling off and could tell it had been painted over to try and cover it. Lobby and hallways looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages.. we will not return..

I liked that there was always hot coffee and tea available in the lobby and housekeeping was available upon request so you didn't feel like you had to rush out of your room so that they could clean. We loved the fact that there was direct beach access. We would stay here again if we travel back to the area.
